Machka a year with that doorless toilet? You are made of stern stuff!
This was the view when I was sitting in there ... there was rarely anyone around and we were so remote that we could hear someone driving quite a bit before we could see them, or before they could see us.
This is the view of the place from the other side of the trees ... you'd have to really be looking to see the toilet. The road didn't come that close and had to go way around to the left and then back to the cabin because there was a creek/mudhole in the way.
I spent a lot of time out there all by myself because my husband was working elsewhere on the property (big property), so I know a little bit about isolation. But when summer came it was nice because I was finally able to sunbathe topless.

Barbara,I don't remember saying anything about apples and being hungry. Either it was someone else or it's just gone to the pile of stuff in the back of my brain.
Something like this maybe? These days we've got heaps of apples ... some I've ordered from the shop and a lot are coming off our apple trees. So I'm eating a couple apples most days.

Greetings from sunny Florida.
The days are flying by which is good and bad. One would think they would slow given the current situation, but I am finding they are moving very quickly. I think by keeping busy and sticking to a somewhat normal schedule has helped keep boredom and depression far, far away. Work certainly helps too.
Sending positive thoughts and prayers.
SuziQ - SFL
It'll be 4 weeks on Friday since I've been home. Loving it! 💜💙
Just so much less stressful.
And you're right ... it's flying by. I knew it would. Once you settle into something, the next time you lift your head to look around months have gone by.

Well, shoot! I have been inside for nearly 3 months and successfully gained 7 pounds! If it wasn't for drinking water, I would tape my mouth shut. I'm like a cute thing I saw on FB, " This quarantine has changed us into dogs. We roam the house looking for food, we are told "no" when we get too close to people, and we get excited when we can go for a car ride." Re-commit, re-commit, re-commit!!9

Terri ... absolutely loved your spring flower photos! I am so envious! It's been snowing all week here and my poor daffodils have just given up!
SuziQ ... I was in need of a haircut prior to the stay at home orders. My hairdresser has offered to come into my home (she is also a close personal friend). Money-wise I believe she is fine, but you have caused me to rethink that and see if she needs some help. In any event, I will not have her in my home at this time. My oldest son is a high risk individual and I know that my hairdresser has been around others who may or may not have been in contact with the virus. I can't risk it as much as I would love to get the hair out of my eyes.
We have not left our home since March 18th, the day I took my son out of his group home. The exception has been going the drive-thru at the pharmacy and a Good Friday drive-thru prayer event. Groceries are delivered (and I'm really getting tired of that). Other needs (and there are really few), I've had delivered from Amazon, etc. Our stay at home order is until May 15th and then we'll see how they want to progress from there. My job (at a church) will be on hold much longer than that as group gathering won't occur for quite some time. To say I'm getting stir-crazy is an understatement. I also have a new appreciation for those that are homebound on a permanent basis.
Today, because no fresh chicken was available that I was willing to pay for, I had two rotisserie chickens delivered. They've been broken down and the carcasses are in a stock pot doing their thing. The house smells delicious!
Have a great day!

Barbie - I was not very patient. I had actually emailed them threatening to go to media and social media. On the news this lunch time there was a section on people not getting their refunds for expensive holidays with other providers, so I am very grateful. I did email them to thank them.
I would think that cruises for old people might be the last thing to restart, but who am I to know.
I wouldn't want to be their CEO.
My brownies came out beautifully. Haven't cut them up yet. They are the most fattening thing imaginable and also very expensive to make. But they are not for me, they are to buy my way into my DDIL'S heart. I will keep some for us, eat one, freeze a few. I'm giving them 10. The recipe says 24 portions, but I'm thinking 16.
Had a great Zoom with the girls. (My old school friends) Same time next week.

Yanked myself out of my funk by getting on the elliptical. Tried working out on it while reading my kindle. Won't do that again - the music makes the time go faster and makes it seem to hurt less.
Still cooling down... and then in the shower, and doing some housecleaning I never seem to be able to do with my husband in the house.
Later y'all,

Hi Gals,
SuziQ - I would be tempted to check in with David, and see if he would cut your hair outside, with him wearing a mask and gloves… it would give him some income and outside is probably the safest way to meet with someone. Although paying ahead, or just wait it out are good/better options.
hugs to everyone.

Tina – Sending positive thoughts to DH. Quite honestly if my primary would not schedule me in knowing my situation I would be looking for another primary. If happy with primary it may be time to seek out a specialist.
Lanette – I also need a dust buster. It is especially helpful for cleaning around the cat’s litter box. I had an off brand that died after 20 years. I am still researching vacuums – I am leaning towards the Shark, but must see in person. Everyone raves over the Dyson until they die which is typically between 3-5 years. My Bissell lasted almost 30 and I would hate to spend the money on a Dyson, if it died 3 years later – I would be cursing.
SuziQ – SFL
Yes, I would be searching for another doctor too, but he won't.
I had a Dyson for a few years. It never clogged or died, but the very cheap plastic parts they made it with started breaking and they are not replaceable. That made it unusable. I used for about 5 years actively. Now it's very expensive paper weight. I'm waiting till I have enough gathered that I can take electrical waste somewhere.
Now I have a cheap Dirt Devil vacuum for when I do the whole house at once and Makita stick vacuum that is fantastic for small jobs. It has a long tube for standing vacuuming and you can remove it to use it like a dustbuster. It uses the same rechargeable battery that the Makita tools use. I have hardwood and tile throughout the house. I'm not sure either of these is suitable for a lot of carpet, but for my needs, they are perfect.

Karen-you are right.I would have gladly helped with the clematis. But I discovered that field mice had destroyed the cloth bag on one of hubbys tools in the barn.A few years ago,our son went to crank one of his trucks up,wouldn’t start.Popped the hood,a litter of snarling, wild kittens in the motor. We ended up trapping (in live traps)over 30 cats and kittens.None of them were ours. But I Love all the beautiful pictures y’all are posting.Ive only left the house once in the 3 1/2 weeks and it’s interesting.Im definitely decluttering more than usual and as always enjoying my yard(property)but even more because I can’t work yet.

I am torn with a decision. I know what the right thing to do is, but am clouded over needs and wants for me and someone else.
I had a hair appointment scheduled for this Saturday. I am resolved with letting it grow out and make due. The salon left me a message and stated given the situation they are not open and once they find out when they can open they will fit me in as soon as possible. Cheryl proceeded to say, if you are interested David is taking some side jobs and she left his phone number.
Here is my back and forth. A cut is a need and I can do without. I can wait. Everyone is in the same boat. That said, David has not had an income for over a month and I know he could use the money. He has been taking care of me for 30 years!
If I schedule I know I will be exposed to anyone he may have seen. So I keep telling myself it's not a good idea.
But, then again, FL wants to start opening things up, more than likely I will be sitting in the office on May 3rd, and if we are both masked and practice all other safe measures how different is it than me going to the grocery store?
Right now I am on the "no" side of things. And, I know he would be mortified if I just said give me your address and I will send some cash to you to help out. And, I want to help out. Hence my yes/no.........
My step sister is a stylist and she sold $100 gift cards for $90 when this started. Perhaps you can suggest something like that to your stylist?

SuziQ My spouse and I both go to the same hairdresser Lynn. I asked for her address and sent her the amount we would have spent on hair in April, with a note that explained that the money was for a virtual hair-cutting lesson that we would like for her to give us if possible. She is very excited about giving us a hair-cutting lesson via the web, no charity involved. We also sent our house cleaner her usual monthly check. She depends on that money, we are able to pay her as usual, and we intend to continue to do so.7 -
SuziQ Tried to amend my post but it's not happening.
Since you would have to cut your own hair, our solution wouldn't be practical for you.
If you do decide to get the haircut, here is my recommendation (agreeing with Kim's advice) - pay in advance with a check in the mail, both of you check your temperatures the morning of the appointment, outside, wet hair, masks, gloves, and minimize the conversation. That would probably be less risk than going to the grocery store even though you would be closer than 6 feet.

Good Morning Ladies! It is good to see all of your smiling faces and amazing photos. I am so proud to be a part of this group. This is my 6th day, I believe to sign it. Plan on keeping it going.
Well, I went to my Doctor yesterday, and all looked good. She also did my blood work. The test results came in today and I got a great review. All looks normal, EXCEPT, my cholesterol is a little elevated. Have to watch my cholesterol intake. AND, I've lost 16 lbs since my last visit in January. She was thrilled, as was I. She said nice and slow, that's the way to do it. Watching my caloric intake and the exercise I do is walking and chair yoga. Hope to loose enough weight to be able to do regular yoga using my mat. I do notice I seem to be getting more flexible, which I love.
Thank you all for letting me be a part of this group of awesome ladies. I love reading your stories and seeing the photos you posted.
Hope you all have a wonderful day. Take care and stay healthy.

P.S. I had to share these two photos of my furbabies. The bed is actually for Zoie, my chihuahua, but my sweet Pearl, my cat, thinks she can fit in it, too.

Who knew a washing machine could be such fun?!💖
Does anyone take Magnesium at night? I was told it helps with cramps in legs, and its a calming thing. So I have been using that, with no cramps, but my dreams have been amped up. Its like my dreams are more vivid! I guess that's a side effect. I have been taking Apple cider vinegar tablets. I guess its helpful if you fast.
Presently at 230 lbs. Down about 8 lbs since I started all this OMAD eating. I'm 20 lbs down since moving to Whidbey island, so this island living seems to agree with me! I know my husband is healthier, just skipping around the house like a child. He's so, so, entertaining!

Rebecca - My dreams have often been weirdly sexual, but not in an exciting way. Just strange. Certainly I am dreaming more vividly.
I got through to the credit card people immediately after going through all the security checks. Could hardly believe it! I asked them to put the Saga excursions refund back into my personal bank account. No problem. Then I will move that money back into the savings account where it came from. I have already transferred the refund for the cruise back into savings. Can you tell I'm relieved! The news is full of disgruntled people who are still waiting for refunds from other companies.
