Tina – Sending positive thoughts to DH. Quite honestly if my primary would not schedule me in knowing my situation I would be looking for another primary. If happy with primary it may be time to seek out a specialist.
Lanette – I also need a dust buster. It is especially helpful for cleaning around the cat’s litter box. I had an off brand that died after 20 years. I am still researching vacuums – I am leaning towards the Shark, but must see in person. Everyone raves over the Dyson until they die which is typically between 3-5 years. My Bissell lasted almost 30 and I would hate to spend the money on a Dyson, if it died 3 years later – I would be cursing.
SuziQ – SFL
Yes, I would be searching for another doctor too, but he won't.
I had a Dyson for a few years. It never clogged or died, but the very cheap plastic parts they made it with started breaking and they are not replaceable. That made it unusable. I used for about 5 years actively. Now it's very expensive paper weight. I'm waiting till I have enough gathered that I can take electrical waste somewhere.
Now I have a cheap Dirt Devil vacuum for when I do the whole house at once and Makita stick vacuum that is fantastic for small jobs. It has a long tube for standing vacuuming and you can remove it to use it like a dustbuster. It uses the same rechargeable battery that the Makita tools use. I have hardwood and tile throughout the house. I'm not sure either of these is suitable for a lot of carpet, but for my needs, they are perfect.

Karen-you are right.I would have gladly helped with the clematis. But I discovered that field mice had destroyed the cloth bag on one of hubbys tools in the barn.A few years ago,our son went to crank one of his trucks up,wouldn’t start.Popped the hood,a litter of snarling, wild kittens in the motor. We ended up trapping (in live traps)over 30 cats and kittens.None of them were ours. But I Love all the beautiful pictures y’all are posting.Ive only left the house once in the 3 1/2 weeks and it’s interesting.Im definitely decluttering more than usual and as always enjoying my yard(property)but even more because I can’t work yet.

I am torn with a decision. I know what the right thing to do is, but am clouded over needs and wants for me and someone else.
I had a hair appointment scheduled for this Saturday. I am resolved with letting it grow out and make due. The salon left me a message and stated given the situation they are not open and once they find out when they can open they will fit me in as soon as possible. Cheryl proceeded to say, if you are interested David is taking some side jobs and she left his phone number.
Here is my back and forth. A cut is a need and I can do without. I can wait. Everyone is in the same boat. That said, David has not had an income for over a month and I know he could use the money. He has been taking care of me for 30 years!
If I schedule I know I will be exposed to anyone he may have seen. So I keep telling myself it's not a good idea.
But, then again, FL wants to start opening things up, more than likely I will be sitting in the office on May 3rd, and if we are both masked and practice all other safe measures how different is it than me going to the grocery store?
Right now I am on the "no" side of things. And, I know he would be mortified if I just said give me your address and I will send some cash to you to help out. And, I want to help out. Hence my yes/no.........
My step sister is a stylist and she sold $100 gift cards for $90 when this started. Perhaps you can suggest something like that to your stylist?

SuziQ My spouse and I both go to the same hairdresser Lynn. I asked for her address and sent her the amount we would have spent on hair in April, with a note that explained that the money was for a virtual hair-cutting lesson that we would like for her to give us if possible. She is very excited about giving us a hair-cutting lesson via the web, no charity involved. We also sent our house cleaner her usual monthly check. She depends on that money, we are able to pay her as usual, and we intend to continue to do so.7 -
SuziQ Tried to amend my post but it's not happening.
Since you would have to cut your own hair, our solution wouldn't be practical for you.
If you do decide to get the haircut, here is my recommendation (agreeing with Kim's advice) - pay in advance with a check in the mail, both of you check your temperatures the morning of the appointment, outside, wet hair, masks, gloves, and minimize the conversation. That would probably be less risk than going to the grocery store even though you would be closer than 6 feet.

Good Morning Ladies! It is good to see all of your smiling faces and amazing photos. I am so proud to be a part of this group. This is my 6th day, I believe to sign it. Plan on keeping it going.
Well, I went to my Doctor yesterday, and all looked good. She also did my blood work. The test results came in today and I got a great review. All looks normal, EXCEPT, my cholesterol is a little elevated. Have to watch my cholesterol intake. AND, I've lost 16 lbs since my last visit in January. She was thrilled, as was I. She said nice and slow, that's the way to do it. Watching my caloric intake and the exercise I do is walking and chair yoga. Hope to loose enough weight to be able to do regular yoga using my mat. I do notice I seem to be getting more flexible, which I love.
Thank you all for letting me be a part of this group of awesome ladies. I love reading your stories and seeing the photos you posted.
Hope you all have a wonderful day. Take care and stay healthy.

P.S. I had to share these two photos of my furbabies. The bed is actually for Zoie, my chihuahua, but my sweet Pearl, my cat, thinks she can fit in it, too.

Who knew a washing machine could be such fun?!💖
Does anyone take Magnesium at night? I was told it helps with cramps in legs, and its a calming thing. So I have been using that, with no cramps, but my dreams have been amped up. Its like my dreams are more vivid! I guess that's a side effect. I have been taking Apple cider vinegar tablets. I guess its helpful if you fast.
Presently at 230 lbs. Down about 8 lbs since I started all this OMAD eating. I'm 20 lbs down since moving to Whidbey island, so this island living seems to agree with me! I know my husband is healthier, just skipping around the house like a child. He's so, so, entertaining!

Rebecca - My dreams have often been weirdly sexual, but not in an exciting way. Just strange. Certainly I am dreaming more vividly.
I got through to the credit card people immediately after going through all the security checks. Could hardly believe it! I asked them to put the Saga excursions refund back into my personal bank account. No problem. Then I will move that money back into the savings account where it came from. I have already transferred the refund for the cruise back into savings. Can you tell I'm relieved! The news is full of disgruntled people who are still waiting for refunds from other companies.

Professional-looking pan of brownies. They look and sound so decadent!
I am wanting to ZOOM with grands and old high school friends. Is it as easy as it sounds? Does one person set up the meeting and invite the others? One of my Nebraska friends sounded as though she was going to take charge of setting up a meeting with the other Nebraska girlfriends, but it's been a week and I haven't heard, so I'm thinking I need to take charge of it.
Yay!!! So glad you got your refund. There is something to be said for being a squeaky wheel.Yes - One of the most egregious universal wrongs in the world is the abuse of power resulting in sexual abuse or assault. Nowhere is it more of an abomination than between a powerful adult grooming/abusing a minor.

SUSI Q ~ I think the advice to have Dave cut your hair outside would work. All the barber shops, beauty shops, nail shops and gyms are supposed to open here on Friday. There is a lot of criticism of the governor doing so.

Good Wednesday to everyone...
Barbara, Ella is my dog and she loves chasing and is a great rodent catcher. Maybe she is part cat because she brings them to me and proudly throws them at my feet when they die and aren't fun to torture anymore.
Karen, I would have loved your help with the clematis. It is amazing the roots are spreading under the ground on both sides of the fence. I only have a few of the thicker limbs to cut down and lots of cleanup to do. But on another subject ..... I love that you sent your hairdresser $$$ and asked for a on-line lesson and love that you sent your housekeeper $$ she would have earned if she'd been able to work. So thoughtful.
SuzyQ, On the hairdresser issue, I've the same dilemma. I have gone to the same woman for many years and we've developed a friendship of sorts. She called me and asked if I needed a haircut. I said no because my DH has heart failure and spinal and lung issues, so we are totally isolating. I know she needs some money coming in and I love the idea of sending her the $$$ I would be spending and telling her it is advance for when I'm again able to get my hair cut. I've already taken the scissors to my hair and it isn't such a bad job..grrr*#%@*.. The check to my hairdresser is in the mail with a note and I sent her a selfie of my new cut so she'd have a good laugh.
Lisa, Karen, Barbie and all....thanks for the idea of paying in advance and I kick myself because I didn't think of it.
Barbie, I quit feeding the birds several years ago here because there was no way to keep the seeds off the ground. I think bird feeders might very well attract rodents. Unfortunately the neighbors across the way have a huge feeder and it attracts all kinds of critters. Our yard won't be very inviting to any wild critters when I get done with my clearing.
Have a good day all...

We feed the birds here and yes, it does attract rodents. It also attracts squirrels, which I don't consider rodents, although they technically are. I enjoy watching them and I love seeing their babies come into the yard every year. They don't bother us otherwise. Well, they eat the flower buds, but I honestly prefer having the squirrels to watch. The rats on the other hand are a huge nuisance.

@Michele that sounds challenging with Jess and Colby. It sounds like Jess really wants to or thinks she wants to be with Colby for now anyway.
@Amber i love the zoom video thing. Funny! I had a zoom class that was so so today. Living in a city center my internet has been good but not since yesterday. Regularly it freezes for 10 seconds several times during a zoom class. not ideal for a class i'm teaching, but that's how it is. Today 2 of my students at least were a bit bothered by family members. One about 19 shares a room with her older sister who kept bugging her, talking and coming into the image etc. and the other had a cousin w whom he had a bit of an argument (who was using the computer) mid session. we all laughed good-heartedly about that. it was ok but the regular cutting off is a pain. somethings are kind of hard to do on zoom.3 -
had a nice day. working is better than not working these days with confinement. full week.
i have some kind of a rash on my upper back thigh, just a bit more than a square inch now but seemed to start as much less, just below where thigh becomes butt. i tried to make an apt with dermotologist but impossible, except online. I don't want an online apt to diagnose a skin ailment. That will depend on quality of photo. Not reliable. Last summer i called this place and they thought i might have bedbugs when i sent them a pic but when i caught one (they are slow) and brought it by in a jar (joy!) it was not, but was just a tiny beetle. these specialists misdiagnosed online. same possible w skin thing.
so i made appointment we GP who's seeing people live. For many basic skin things GPs have seen them.
i thought it was nothing passing thing but it seems to be getting bigger and i have no idea what it is. doesn't look familiar and it seems to be expanding. boring sorry. i kind of figure at present, if anything is not COVID it's not serious but leaving everything but COVID to fester for months is not ideal either...
i'm not watching the news as much anymore, about changing laws and policies; I get fed up. france is really not doing great in terms of transparency, planning, and management. they say one thing one day then something else a few days later with no consideration for what they said a few days previously other than trying to talk their way out of their last mistake or change of discourse. it almost makes no sense to listen because there is little link between what they say and what they do and what is recommended...2 -

Karen - You need to download Zoom onto your computer or ipad/tablet. I have mine on my tablet and I haven't yet invited anyone myself, just clicked on the invitation email from my friend. Then you have to click various things like video and audio and after various false starts you are suddenly there! Hooray! For the kids DH answers the email on his laptop.
On my tablet I can't figure out how to get the screen to split into all the participants. We are four. But it doesn't really matter because each time someone speaks the camera switches to them. With the kids we only have one participant. For the group ones you get 45 mins free. For one it is unlimited.
The strange thing is how tiring it is, even if you are enjoying it.
I have seen more of my girlfriends during the lockdown than I have since was were at school together. It has been good for reconciling me with my difficult friend. And the kids absolutely take it in their stride.
I am a technophobe, so if I can do it, anyone can.

Shredweek1: Welcome.
Kylia: Sorry to hear about your MIL’s health situation.
Heather: Congratulations on receiving your cruise refund! I hope that you’ll be able to use it for a cruise in the future. :flowerforyou:
Penney: You clearly live in the land of the midnight sun. The photo is bee-uu-ti ful.
SuziQ: The first bandage is off of the dog and we’ve given him his first soak in hydrogen peroxide. He is resting.
Barbara: Our dog missed his appointment for a grooming the other day. We didn’t think they’d be open and assumed . . . The parking lot was jammed and I’m happy enough that we let that one go by. :ohwell:
Barbie: It seems like your local bird feeder is not very astute. Drawing rats into the neighborhood isn’t good for anyone. Is there a homeowner’s association officer who could give her a call? Good luck. :flowerforyou:
Regarding feeding birds. the only feeders we have are for hummingbirds. The feeders attach to our windows so we are ble to see the hummingbirds. They live hear year around and are especially needy during the winter season. We don’t put out birdseed any more because we realized it attracted mice and rats. They are not welcome. :noway:
Have a great day!

Rhody's opinion of water ...

Cosmos! Very pretty!
Cats are very picky about where they drink their water. It can't be near their food or their litter box. In the wild cats are careful to drink upstream, because drinking downstream means they can get sick from impurities in the water.
He also loves playing with water ... sitting right in the sink with water dribbling on his head batting at it, biting at it, licking it.
I had another cat who sort of liked doing that, but most aren't keen on getting that wet.
He'll also use the litter box and then head to one of the sinks. If I'm there I'll turn on the water, and he'll get his paws into it, and then lick his paws, and then play with the water.
He was born in September and I don't know where he was between then and late Feb, so I'm not sure what all he learned!
