Machka - driving would certainly give you some to me back. I didn’t mind using the transit system here when I had an express route from home to work, but when we moved and the bus schedule sucked I ended up buying a car to gain some tome back on my life. I am a 20 minute walk to work now, I drive most days because I don’t like being sweaty when I get there.

The only people who have been inside our house since March are my walking friend who is like part of the family and the cable repair guy. It will be a long time before anyone else comes in.
We did our monthly shopping this morning and the cupboards and freezer are full. Jake bought the ingredients for several very ambitious Ninja Foodie projects. He'll do the first one tomorrow and the second one on Friday.

This is what I did with all the other leftover yarn scraps!
The hubs liked it so much he refused to let me donate it. He loves the burst of color on our couch!

Tracy- Lol love the Christmas decorations post lol 😂 what a hoot! I peed my pants 👖 . I like Your Daughter name more it sounds so elegant.
It’s very common my DR told me to have miscarriage or still birth even if you do everything right. Mine was due to a bad uterus y health issues. Simple stressor like the Face books was banned by my DR due to the fact he felt anything that got a person worked up was dangerous if they had blood pressure issues without knowing. Sure enough he was right so very glad I followed his advice like it was the law of the land.

Allie: I am a homebody. I like to go places, and then I like to come home. I haven’t wished to move far away from home or family, although my kids have both moved far away. This year is quite different. Due to the Covid pandemic, we’re staying closer to home than ever. Good luck in your decision process.
Tracey: I buy CBD oil at a hardware store. Our local grocery store also sells it. Both stores have several kinds in stock, and small bottles are expensive, but they last a long while. My recent purchase was in the $70+ range. I was disappointed that it was a spray bottle rather than a dropper bottle because it is harder to know how much you are using. It is very helpful for our old dog with a sore hip. Spraying a squirt onto the dog food seems to be getting the job done. In our experience, CBD oil has remarkable abilities to reduce chronic pain. I love the poster about people setting off fireworks that almost caught the Christmsa Decorations on fire.
Be well and happy.

This is the wall hanging that I made for our granddaughter, finally finished!
This is our grandson, his fourth birthday! He's wearing a jersey for our local lacrosse team. Our DIL's family is heavily into lacrosse (I like it too!)
And this is our granddaughter, she's one.
Lisa, Levi is such a treasure, he does look like he is truly enjoying his first taste of "real" food! lol
Machka, sending good thoughts your way for a successful surgery and uneventful recovery. Also, congrats on passing the two courses and only having one more to go!
Cheri, those blankets are lovely! I may have to try one, I do have some odds and ends of wool hanging around!
Feeling sad for all of you who have lost children or were unable to have children. My mom had a daughter before me, she died at 2 1/2 years due to a heart problem. Mom then went on to have a few miscarriages, then me, then at least one more miscarriage. I am blessed to have had two pregnancies and two healthy births. And they have turned into fine young men!
The last two days have gone well, calorically speaking! I have also been moving more and not snacking after dinner! That is huge for me! I have been battling a headache all day today tho, the weather is changing, so I guess that's the problem. Very annoying, but a good excuse to go to bed early, so I think that's where I will head now!
Hugs for those who need them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the newbies!

In my memoir I've been writing about a 'sliding door' moment when I was 15, when I answered a request sent to our school to go to the boy's school youth wing to take part in a play. That small decision opened a door into a different life.
I found myself wondering if any of you have had such a moment. Not the big decisions that we agonise over, like getting married, taking a job etc, but the tiny acts of chance, unnoticed at the time, that somehow led us down a different path.
Do tell us. Let's keep it positive.
I'm going to have a day off writing today and do some telephoning of friends I haven't spoken to for a couple of months.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Turns out if you do 8 minutes of a 30 minute exercise video you feel like a truck has run over you the next day........ word to the wise
So just catching up on some of the chat to see who is doing what. And I am possibly looking to move...... nothing like adding stress to life when you want to lose weight...

yesterday was the inspection, Kirby said we should find out today how that's gonna go and what kind of $$$ we are going to have to dish out to fix whatever is wrong.
we got approved to rent the apartment, I had no doubt. they are going to send us a welcome packet. we are renting from the 13th on cuz that was when it's available but they are only going to charge us rent from the 24th onward so that is nice. saving us a couple of bucks6 -

Heather - yes, there was one 'sliding door' (sliding window, anyway) moment for me. I was sitting in a McDonalds drive-thru, hoping the girl behind the window thought I was taking home one of those two breakfast sandwiches for someone else, when in reality, I meant to eat them both (combined, nearly 900 calories).
One of them I planned to eat before I got home, which was only ten blocks away, so I could walk in with just the one sandwich I had ostensibly gone for... In that short drive home, as I bolted the one sandwich, I reassured myself that you never see really fat old people, so it must get easier to lose weight as you get older--telling myself once more that I'd lose the weight "someday." I'd been to the doctor the day before, and was at my highest weight - 303 pounds.
And then a single, subversive little thought crossed my mind:
You don't see very fat old people because very fat people don't get old. They die.
That began every change that brought me here. Six months later I had a gastric bypass, lost 166 pounds, moved from Texas to Illinois for my husband's job, watched my 28-year marriage explode in slow motion after I became a flight attendant. Headed for Texas, met Corey, fell in love and married him a year later, became a mom to a 15 and 17-year-old son and daughter... and became the person I was meant to be all along.
One thought. One teeny-tiny moment that I've never forgotten.
Just before my surgery, at 300+ pounds, and not quite two years later. I was still unhappy, and you can see that in my eyes, but I had lost an entire person that I was carrying around (both psychologically and physically):
This was taken in December, the day after Corey asked me to marry him--and used as our engagement photo for the newspaper. He taught me how to be happy again.
