7/6: 174.6, Off to a good start. I kind of expected to see a gain today after a big drop yesterday. It's been really hot, so I think I'm living in a state of dehydration right now despite all of the water I'm consuming. Of course, I've also bee hitting it pretty hard the past few days. Yea me!
7/7: 174.0. I guess I hit goal for this round, but I still think it may be an artificial low. I am taking it though. Happy me

quiltingjaine wrote: »@littlecinnamon Remember the thing with keto is keeping the carbs low. Use the fat for satiety and meet your protein macro. Protein is the goal, carbs a limit and fat (the lever) for satisfaction. I wanted to get down 30# when I started 3 years ago and have now gone 20# lower. I feel good at this weight (117-119) and at 5’ tall, my doctor is good with it.
Thanks for the great advice @quiltingjaine ! I'm definitely eating more fat than I would normally and am feeling full. The moderated plan doesn't quite have as much protein as I would eat normally, but I think my idea of portion sizes has gone somewhat out of whack so it's probably helping to keep that to goal. I'm feeling a lot better limiting carbs too.
You're had great success with this method - well done!!4 -
Thanks, @Tesha231and @aFit50. It feels great to reach that milestone.

Round 119 - Started MFP and 10-Day Challenge 12/27/19 - 186.0 (Heaviest weight ever!) I'm happy to have lost 10 pounds, but, man, it has taken a long time but mainly because I keep losing the same pounds over and over again.
Goal this round:
Do NOT eat sugar or white flour. These are my downfall. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I eat healthy most days except when I go on a binge for days. And what causes my binges/cravings? sugar and white flour
07/06 - 175.1 Huh? Too much salt, not enough water the past few days.
07/07 - 174.9
07/08 - 174.7
I usually stop eating around 5p each day. Last night around 7:30p I was so hungry I decided to eat a small amount over my calorie limit. I also chose something healthy - 2 carrots with ranch dressing that I made a few days ago with mostly buttermilk (only 100 calories a cup) and very little sour cream and mayo (I would have used plain yogurt but didn't have any). I also ate a small serving of leftover summer squash and cauliflower rice. I look at last night as a WIN because I got more vegetables in for the day, and because I chose healthy food and went over my calorie limit a little vs. the old me that would have had an all out binge. YAY!

Round 119
Month/Day: Weight / Comment
07/06: 212.4 / Off to a rip-roaring start here after the holiday weekend. This will be a tough ten days for me with my birthday plopped right in the middle of it. I will be happy if I can just get my ten day average down .01 #.
07/07: 212.2 / Nutritionally a good day yesterday except for the high salt content.
07/08: 213 / I little birthday Pizza and Pie with Son & his family last night. This is going to be a tough round for me!
07/09: 211.4 / We travel to DW’s sister and her husband’s place later today for a long weekend. I may not enter any weights until Monday due to complications of inconsistent schedule and uncalibrated scale. I am going to try to walk a lot and drink a lot of water. That may offset the way our hosts will surely spoil us with food. I think a German Chocolate birthday cake is being prepared. 😊

07/07 - 175.1 Gym streak continued. 5th day of not eating back the calories earned. This round will be an interesting weight-flux battle between fat, water & muscle. May the muscle win!
07/08 - 174.8 - No gym. Eating on track. Water wins this weigh day.
07/09 - 174.8 - Gym + extra walk with the pup. It was FINALLY cool enough for her to make her neighborhood rounds--can't say no to that! Back to work schedule made it hard for me to eat my MFP minimum calories for the day by 7p.m. so broke my IF and ate the rest of the cals by 8 p.m. Left the 525 calories-earned (plus 200 more from daily allowance) on the table--so, I'm giving this weigh day to...MUSCLE. 07/06: 177.6- First day tracking! My hubby is doing this with me to keep myself accountable. Tracked breakfast and ready to start my workout.
07/07: 177.4- I already feel so much better. I have been fighting the feeling of being bloated all the time.
07/08: 174.8- It really helps that my hubby is doing this with me. He doesn't need to lose weight, but he's even seeing the benefit of tracking food. It can be surprising how much a person really eats when you track it! We normally would have bought a couple bags of chips, but we decided to get some carrots and bananas to snack on. That's huge for us! Making healthy choices together💪
07/09: 174.4- I made sure to pack and track my own lunch on my trip instead of getting fast food.

Day/Weight/Comment
07/06: 184.4 Wow, I really did a number on myself. Went on a full fledged binge and gained 5 pounds since Friday morning!! Some of it is salt/water of course, but 5 pounds!! And I feel horrible. Bloated, stomach cramps.
07/07: 184.4 Still overate again. Not as bad as Saturday/Sunday but not yet back to my healthy eating. I had stopped writing in my journal or planning my day—stepped completely away from accountability. Well I’m back now. With work to do!
07/08 184.8 Wow, I really didn’t think you could gain 5 pounds in 3 days of real weight. But this is sticking around. I ate much better today, got some exercise...and I’m up even higher now! I still have to be gentle with myself today, getting restrictive and punitive will be counterproductive but I am sad. But I have my plan for today, including snacks, so hopefully I can gently lead myself back to the path of health.
07/09 184.0 At least it’s in the right direction. Last time I weighed this much was 31 days ago—I wiped out a full month of progress with one weekend. 😭 But I was successfully back on plan again yesterday, ate green, tracked, journaled, exercised. There’s no true end date to this work so I have to just keep at it.

Goal weight for this round: Somewhere in the 116 or 115 rangeAbout me: I love learning about food and everything about it; from the way it acts in the body to learning to cook a new recipe. I went to school for nutrition (got my bachelor's) but I didn’t become an RD because it didn’t feel like the path for me. I guess I wanted to keep it as more of an interest instead of a career. I then went into public health to further my education and I currently help medically complex patients by connecting them with community resources to improve their health and life. I enjoy helping family and friends when they ask for advice related to food and nutrition. Plus, it helps me brush up on what I spent so much time learning!
I’m here because when I’m not paying attention to what I eat, I start to gain and feel uncomfortable in my body. For me that results in frustration and a lot of other emotions. It has also increased my cholesterol in the past (It’s good now as far as I know thanks to diet and exercise). I have a family history of diabetes, heart disease, and all that fun stuff. So, I want to prevent that for myself by getting a hold of my food habits now.
I’m always open to conversation about food and nutrition, so feel to reach out to me!
07/06 116.6 Happy Monday everyone! This morning we did a good soccer workout for some exercise. Today is our produce CSA day and I’m looking forward to all the fun fruits and vegetables we’ll be picking up!
07/07 116.2 Hi! Not sure if the weight is right but I’ll go with it. I had the same number for like 5 days so I took one of the scale batteries out and put it back in which resulted in this number after it reading 116.6 minutes beforehand. Yesterday was fun picking up the CSA. This week we got summer squash, zucchini, kousa squash, peas, beets with greens, hakurei turnips with greens, kale, spigariello, green leaf lettuce, a cucumber, a small tomato, basil, scallions, strawberries and apples.
We went for a nice walk this morning coming in at 5ish miles. Today my sister in law and I will go pick up our monthly meat CSA which will be another fun adventure of new food options in the house! Not sure what’s on the agenda for dinner tonight except that I want to have some watermelon and feta cheese salad. I love that salty sweet combo! Have a good day everyone!
07/08 116.8 Yesterday was a really fun day/night. It was awesome to pick up the meat CSA and to fill the freezer with new cuts of meat that we haven’t had in while! Then, my husband and I had some wine and played poker. Dinner was a wash of eating jalapeno poppers and a watermelon/feta salad. He had the poppers with fries and I ate the salad and poppers. I guess that’s a half way decent food compromise. I didn’t stress about the excessive calories because it was about having fun last night. We also finally looked at our wedding pictures and watched some of the videos from it. Watching the video of our entire family (both sides) singing and dancing to Paradise by the Dashboard Lights by Meatloaf is one of the memories I will never forget from that day. It still brings so much joy just to watch the video of it.
Today is a recovery day of sorts and I’m just trying to focus on eating light and not caving too much into the cravings for all the high calorie foods after a night of a few glasses of wine. 😊 I did manage to do a reduced soccer workout this morning with my father in law because even though I drank I didn’t feel icky this morning luckily.
07/09 116.8 Oh how I love water weight retention lol. I’m going to have more because of my cycle and splurging on Chinese takeout food tonight because it has been 4 months. Busy day today with work which equals a not too chatty post. We did get a nice walk in this morning though! Have a good day!

Here we go again! And I’m determined to make at least a little progress this time. Jeesh! It’s really hot here with air quality advisory today, but I’m going for at least a short walk. Salmon-egg-guac salad for lunch, lentils & rice for dinner, and I had a low cal breakfast. Today’s my “breakout day”!
7/7 - 181
It’s a beautiful morning here, but already hot and we have a heat and ozone advisory for later, so I’m doing my gardening and walking early. I have some seeds to plant —starts for a new bed I’m planning. I love watching seedlings grow! My day’s menu is planned and lunch made (remains from yesterday). It was so yummy and easy, I thought I’d share In case anyone’s looking for a new summery salad. Recipe: 1 can salmon (I like Wild Planet wild caught pink), 2 hard boiled eggs, guacamole (I use one Wholly Guacamole mini pack), slaw mix (I use mixed broccoli, carrot, cabbage), chopped raw veggies & herbs to taste (bell pepper, celery, green onion or chives, basil, cilantro all work well). Tasty, filling, healthful.

Whew, yep, it’s July in Indiana, that’s for sure! Hot hot hot! Considering ice cream for all my meals. 😁 Okay, salads. 🥗🥦🥕🥒🥬🍓🥙

I’m sitting on my patio, smiling at my garden this morning. When we moved into this house, this entire perimeter of the backyard was a narrow band of river rock. I wish I could invite you all over for iced tea! The photo doesn’t do the colors justice in the hot sun, but still. I’ve seen four kinds of butterflies, lots of beautiful bees, lots of birds, including 6 goldfinches, and bunnies and chipmunks this morning.

Not drinking enough water in this heat we are experiencing. No exercise for the past two weeks due to nerve issues. At first, I thought maybe it stemmed from pressure on my sciatic nerve, but I had awful numbness and tingling sensations on my entire right side, from upper back to my foot. It could have been a mild case of shingles, because there was a rash on the back of my shoulder. I'm still experiencing some numbness and tingling sensations in my shoulder, arm ankle and heel, but I do feel like I could start exercising again. Need to get this excess fat and water retention OFF!

@Katterin227 - try doing some walking on the days you cut back on exercise, depending on your speed and distance it can be very gentle exercise, but you're still moving and burning calories 👍.
I have a bad knee - walking is actually the first thing I cut back on! I don’t know, maybe my exercise bike is harder on the knee in theory, but I don’t really feel it as much. I assume it’s because I can go easier on the bike and there is no resistance, but I can’t (instantly) change the forces involved in propelling my body weight around the block. Plus I live where it’s hot and humid, which adds an extra drain to outdoor workouts.
In the summer I get most of my exercise from swimming, which is nice and low impact, but I didn’t get to the pool for three days in a row and had done a lot of walking and biking instead. I’ve also been doing more than usual this month because I’m in an Apple Watch challenge where it takes 90 exercise minutes to max out my points, while last month I was proud of myself for getting to 30 almost every day. Yesterday I just did an easy swim and a couple of short stints on the bike, and I definitely feel more rested today.3 -

Please join us! Starting on 07/06 JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, we will begin Round 119
Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

7/6: 226.0 First day of getting back to strict tracking after a couple looser days produces a nice drop on the scale. Still feeling a little bloated, so we’ll see what happens in another day or two.
7/7: 227.0 Had a hefty late night snack around 1 AM, so I’m not surprised to see a bump despite technically being within my calories. Walked a ton but ate most of the calories back.
7/8: 226.0 Might have to cut back on exercise a bit today; I’ve been doing a lot for the last week and my body is sore. I hate to do it because of the Apple Watch challenge I’m in, but I think I need a light day.
7/9: 224.8 Another drop and a new 5-pound mark. Probably be up a bit tomorrow - gotta recognize the low fluctuations as much as the high ones - but I’ll take it for today, and get back to it for real soon.

07/06 - 191.2... Last challenge went really poorly for me and I have no idea why... I was good about my diet and exercise but still went up hopefully this challenge goes well for me. Working hard today and planned out lots of healthy meals for the day. Going to do some yoga and ab work today, no serious exercise because some jerk cut the water main to our street so we have no water today while it's being repaired and I don't want to get too sweaty.
07/07 - 192.6... what the heck? I feel like all I keep doing is exercising and cutting calories and all the scale keeps doing for the past two weeks is going up. Going to take a break from drinking wine each night and take closer look at my macros, see if I'm mis-tracking or retaining water or something. In the meantime, had a really nice run today. Usually I do 90 second run/walks for 30 minutes, today I did 3 min runs/90 seconds walks on my very hilly street, so I'm pleased w my cardio progress at least
07/08 - 192! At least I'm headed back in the right direction (gulp) or at least, I hope. Working hard today and sticking to my diet. Feeling proud of myself and hoping I can keep this up.
07/09 - 190.2! YAY! Feeling so happy that I'm coming back down. Running and working today, have been making really good progress on my writing so I'm extra happy about that and motivated to keep it up. Lots of healthy meals planned for today, hoping to ride this wave towards more weight loss progress

Day/Weight/Comment
07/06 160.2 I'm down .8 pounds from last round. I'll do an indoor workout today as there's too much smoke from a nearby fire to go outside for a walk or run. Need to drink more water!
07/07 160.2 Need active friends please!
07/08 162.4 I went to the beach yesterday, and instead of packing a picnic, I bought one from the supermarket - full of foods that I don't normally eat. Yuck.
07/09 163.4 I needed another day off yesterday. I didn't log, but I'm back at it today. I have a lot of yuckiness to get out of my system today. Lots of water and a workout this evening with my trainer.

@aFit50 very insightful that your mind needs to align with your goals. You need to decide what is right for you despite influences that suggest most "Gmas are fat", or age dictates how much weight you can lose overall. I remember when I first started gaining as I started the "change." After my first 20# increase, I mentioned needing to tackle that to a friend. Her response was that I didn't need to because I was not as fat as she was. What?! So, my point is that you can do anything you decide to do no matter what others choose. If you want to loose 100#s or 10#s, you are on the right thread to break that goal into small 10 day bites. You got this. Hope this Gma's thoughts helped!
You did Gma, and I'm so on it thanks! Its encouraging knowing others overcame similar challenges.
@deepwoodslady ~ today I'm choosing me!!!5
