I ventured past the sheep and sheep dogs. I saw the big guard dog, but it ignored me. The little one that I was afraid of was no where in sight, so I'm hoping he got rid of it. I was able to go out the road about 2 miles and back and some shorter out and backs. I did stop for water 3 times, I think. My average pace was 11:52 with and AVG HR of 158. Fastest mile was mile 7 at 11:05 minutes. That's the mile where I began feeling the run in my legs. Perhaps it was the pace and not the mileage. LOL
Way to go @quilteryoyo! Speaking of sheep dogs. Yesterday I was running down a seldom traveled gravel road and heard something behind me. Turned around and saw this:
I gave him some good pettings and he trotted along with me for a little ways before returning to tend to his flock.5 -

6 miles this morning to start the @PastorVincent Boston challenge. I decided to go ahead and run this morning. I have the day off and it was pretty nice at ~73°F. There may be rain later in the week which is ok, but we rarely get rain without lighting and since this is the week of the Boston challenge I didn't want to miss any runs. Plus running a 10K is one of my favorite things to do on a day off. 😁 I hope everyone who has the day off is enjoying it and hope everyone else is having a great day too!
Congrats on a great run @quilteryoyo!
Beautiful sunrise @Faebert!
@Teresa502 That's a beautiful dog. I'm glad he was friendly and just wanted to join you.
2020 races:
11/7/20: Run for 57th AHC Half Marathon5 -
Thanks @shanaber and @T1DCarnivoreRunner so I look forward to the next few weeks!
It looks like it may take some time for my running energy to pick up @hanlonsk and I would be happy for you to join me if you haven't already been snapped up? Cheers, Bob!3 -
Great running everyone! @hamsterwheel6 Hope the hamstring is okay. @shanaber I saw that about the gender reveal, terrible that you are so close to it. I hope you guys in Cali catch a break soon.
Our 10 milers, @quilteryoyo and @marisap2010 are virtually approaching Natick town center!

@rheddmobile I'm late but thank you for setting up the challenge.
Sadly I'm still out. Calf is still niggly and annoying. Longest I'm able to walk is only a couple of km. I think its going to be October before I'm doing anything.
Love you all.10 -
@hamsterwheel6 So sorry to hear about your hamstring. I hope it is minor. Otherwise, great run and excellent paces for the 5Ks. Love the name of your team. I was thinking the other day that I was glad @PastorVincent 's neighbor figured out what it was he had been wearing on his back all this time.
@Faebert Glad you got your runs in and that sunrise is spectacular!
@Teresa502 So cool that the dog was friendly and just wanted some petting. They are really cool dogs.
@rheddmobile Thanks for the video. It would awsome to actually be there for that!

@TheMrWobbly i think I am officially connected to your team thanks to @rheddmobile
I will leave it to you to pick our team name, since I am the tag along!
We are probably a good pair for this thing, as I am also (due to peer pressure from a coworker and my boyfriend) dipping my toe into the keto pool. That fact, along with the snow, contributed to why I’m guessing my miles so low.4 -
After our discussion about lights I got an email that Noxgear is having a sale up to 42% off sitewide if anyone is interested.5

Took my bike out this morning with the intention of doing the 14km I would need to complete the marathon distance for this week, as my running plan calls for 28km and change. I thought I remembered a way round the back lanes which would be pleasant and make for a circular route, but got a bit confused by a hill I didn't remember being there 20 years ago, which is when I last went round there on horseback. Half way up the hill I couldn't see the lane I was looking for, so turned around and after heading down a couple of dead ends and having to turn round I finally found my way back to the river trail. Just going home would have left me a few km short, so I decided to just go ahead and do the whole trail. Ended up being just under 21km when I was nearing home, so I went round the block to make it a HM distance. Legs are on fire now! Not sure I'll be up for doing tomorrow's 4 mile run at the race pace Hal calls for. I'm sure @PastorVincent would really approve of me disobeying Hal :-)

Yay! Set out for 5 miles and made 5 miles. When my body runs out of energy I start with the rock'n'roll and head bobbing so I focus on form and made it. It was really slow, nearly 50 seconds a mile slower than carb-running.@TheMrWobbly i think I am officially connected to your team thanks to @rheddmobile

The pressure!!! I'm not sure homw many characters we can have @rheddmobile but how about 'Make tomorrow better' a nod to PV's philosophy and subtly including keto in there

It is really cool being able to see progress on the marathon map. Thank you so much @rheddmobile3

Is anyone else having issues with MFP? The forums keep freezing, so I can’t go back to any page other than the current one. I’ve had issues for about 24 hours.
Congrats to everything that everyone accomplished yesterday, even if I couldn’t read about it! I did 10 slow miles in the much cooler, less humid weather. I wish it would stay like that!6 -

“Make Tomorrow Better” it is!
@eleanorhawkins is virtually passing the Newton Firehouse now and nearing Heartbreak Hill! Note that she asked me to add bike to her recognized activities - if anyone else has special requests like that, let me know.

Started off my Virtual Boston Marathon for @PastorVincent with almost 10 miles on trails yesterday, 5.5 running miles and the rest walking. Made it a little bit of a special occasion by wearing the singlet I usually wear to races and my lucky headband. I had forgotten it was Labor Day, man there were a lot more people on the trails than usual. Didn’t have a mask myself because it’s usually not that crowded. Most were good about passing at a distance but those trails are true singlefoot in places and not everyone was making an effort. You know when someone goes by and you can smell their laundry detergent, aftershave, and hair conditioner and you think, “Yeah if I’m breathing all of that, you are too close!” So now I’m freaking out just a little and reminding myself that outside transmission is rare. We’re still getting about 200 cases a day in the county.
Still a really nice run! Knee is holding up over gradually increasing distances. It was a little too warm to be perfect running weather but very nice walking weather. We go through this field of fragrant purple flowers which I can’t identify - it’s not lavender - maybe some variety of sage? I am terrible with plant id. Since there were so many people we took some lesser used trails, including one which was mainly roots! So many roots. It feels good to be up to slightly more technical trails.
Virtually that puts me in the middle of historic Natick!
There was this photo of an aid station right where I ended up on the map, so I put myself into it!10 -

Cloudy, low 60s F and humid this morning, after we had 4.6 inches of rain yesterday. Ran really well up to the 5.25 k point, where I thought I was going to pass out. Cut back the pace and finished, but not as strong a finish as I would have liked.
Keep crushing those marathon miles for Vincent!!!
