Today’s run was “long, easy” - 40 minutes at 9:33-10:33 pace, with 5 minutes each warmup and cool down. I felt really tired during the run and went over the 10:33 a few times.

Congrats on your races and so fun to see @quilteryoyo and @Teresa502 meet up! Sounds like you both had a lovely day.
Congratulations @kgirlhart on your race!!!! Wow, PR and overall 2nd female and female master's winner! so awesome. Glad you're not too sore today.
@marisap2010 that hike looks beautiful. So totally different terrain from anything I see.
@skippygirlsmom wow, great job to you too on finishing way ahead of your goal time and helping someone! I remember you mentioning the cavern race and it sounded so cool. Glad you had a good time - that hill looks tough though! Great job!
Good job @April_M_2015 - it does help to be accountable for sure. I always think about how I'll need to report to the group! Although this is a very supportive bunch no matter what.

The great weather continues. I met a friend for a lovely late morning run and coffee. It was so nice I was able to get over the fact that I had just discovered my laundry room was flooded right before I left to meet her - by stepping in a pool of water and getting my running shoes all wet. Sigh. I think all is well though and it was a clogged drain rather than something more ominous (I hope, we'll see when I try another load in a little bit!).

Wow! Lots of 👏👏👏👏 to all the racers! @Teresa502 and @quilteryoyo meeting must have been so fun! Great job @kgirlhart and @skippygirlsmom. And well done to everyone else working hard and keeping going.
I did another run this morning. I want to get that fitness back after a rubbish month and rebuild some confidence which is lacking a bit at the moment. As i had already done 10km yesterday I kept it shorter today, 4 miles only, but steady and with no stopping, even for the big hills! Then came home and hit some weights. And then did some
Latin dance workout thing with my daughter. Busy!

@katharmonic Glad you had a nice run and coffee. Fingers crosses that your flooding problem is fixed.
Sounds like you had a very busy day @Faebert! You're doing great!1 -
Checked my e-mail and look what I had. Wasn't expecting that!

Congrats @quilteryoyo! And you weren’t even trying! 😉 x1 -
Me too @quilteryoyo!
I refuse to look and see if I'm the only one in my age group!
I ran a very easy 4.60 miles this morning and then went on a 20-mile bike ride this afternoon with some friends. we rode on some back roads along the river and it was so pretty.
Congratulations @skippygirlsmom! That was so kind of you to stop and make sure the girl was ok and give her phone numbers.
@katharmonic - Hope the washer issue is resolved!4 -
Thanks so much @katharmonic ! Accountability is key for me now as I reluctantly crawl back into shape. Sounds like a bit of a nightmare with your laundry room. I hope everything is good - we had that issue a few years ago at our house and an easily fixed clogged drain was the culprit.
@quilteryoyo - I don't know your real name but I am guessing it is Vicky??? Congratulations on that incredible achievement!!
@faebert - incredible! Very inspirational for me, even if you don't feel it
2 -
Congrats @Teresa502 ! Sounds like you had a very nice day today.
@April_M_2015 Bahahahaha It actually took me a second to figure out how you knew my real name. I'm slow today.3 -
@Teresa502 Woohoo on first place, even if you are, that’s a great time. Thank you. I felt so bad for her, her shin was a huge bruise already. A lot of people I talked to at this race honestly had no idea of the elevation etc and they were like “this is my first trail race I didn’t expect this”. The RD put an elevation map right on the sign up website. She was part way up the worst elevation and we all know how it is after we fall she felt sick to her stomach.
@Quilteryoyo great job! And thank you
Great job @kgirlhart
Thanks @Faebert @Scott6255 @marisap2010 @katharmonic and @polskagirl01 – they are running their twice a year now and plan to add a half marathon next year. It’s really neat to go from outside and so hot to inside and you feel so good you just want to run.
I felt so bad for this girl after the race, she lost her keys on the trail and of course it was during the 15K not even the 5K. It was the only set she owned so no one could even come with the other set, her purse etc was in the car. She said her boyfriend was coming to get her (we were about an hour from where she lived) I told her I’d drive her home since I live in the next town over. No reason for him to drive out to get her. It was so strange she literally didn’t say a word to me all the way home. I tried to make small talk but got one word answers. Seemed like a nice girl, maybe my driving scared her. What was really weird was by the time I got home she found me on strava and liked my run. Well I should reach out and ask if she got it all straighten out. I would have happily walked the 5K course with her to try and find her keys, but even she said no way in the world she was going to walk the 15K to find them, they could have even been in the cave.

Thanks at @skippygirlsmom and congratulations on your race! It was really nice of you to drive that girl home. She was probably just quiet because she was worried about losing her keys. If she only has the one set it may be a big expensive hassle to get them replaced.
Thanks also @katharmonic. I hope it was just a clog and you won't have any more flooding problems.
Congrats on the AG awards @quilteryoyo and @teresa502.
4 -
@kgirlhart thank you. The little we did talk was about the price of replacing the key fob. I have one that doesn't lock your car and the dealer told me $200 to replace it. I was like nevermind I can put the button before I shut the door.3
-
Woo hoo - way to go @quilteryoyo and @Teresa502! Winners!
@skippygirlsmom so nice of you to drive her home. I agree she was probably just worried about the situation with the keys and having to get her car, etc. In any case I'm sure she really appreciated your efforts.
Seems to be good news on the laundry room front. Drain opener seems to have done the trick and I'm on my second load without further flooding. Thank goodness, because I already need to have my dishwasher repaired, I wasn't really into the idea of another appliance gone bad.4 -
Congrats on the AG awards @quilteryoyo and @teresa502. Y'all rock!
@skippygirlsmom you are so nice to give the girl a ride home!

Congrats on the AG awards @quilteryoyo and @teresa502!!!
I signed up for a virtual Turkey Trot tonight. I searched for some real ones in the area but couldn’t find any. This one has a cute medal, and you get a jacket and a beanie!5 -
@quilteryoyo and @Teresa502 Good job to both of you!!
@kgirlhart Congrats on a great race, PR, awards!! Fantastic!2 -
Hey all. No running for the past week, as life happened an awful lot. Only two days until the ASICS Ekiden and MFP team 3 still has 4 slots open... or me and @katharmonic will pick up three segment each LOL. Use this link here with passcode 0103 to join.3

I signed up for a 10k segment!3 -
@skippygirlsmom That was so nice of you to take the girl home. She was probably just upset about her keys. Also, some people just aren't good at small talk. I don't know how old she is, but my niece and nephew aren't real good at it. They grew up texting, so are brief with all of their responses. They're a little bit better now, but it used to be like pulling teeth to get anything other than yes or no out of them. I hope she was able to work it out.
@katharmonic Glad the flooding issue was an easy one to fix.

I was supposed to meet three friends to run this morning but all three canceled at the last minute so I ended up running the streets by myself. Not my favorite thing to do in the dark, but I survived! Just saw one shady character hanging out at Burger King. He watched me pass but I looked over my shoulder a couple times to make sure he didn’t follow me and all was good.

Ugh...64F, 100% humidity, and 13mph wind wasn't very fun. I could see the mist in the air from my headlamp. But I felt my stride length coming back and just tried to keep in the groove.

@quilteryoyo I’m probably just so used to Skip, 10 minutes into the drive she would have a complete dossier on the person. She was a very very sweet girl, I felt so bad for her. I’m going to reach out to her today on Strava and find out if she got her car. The worst part was her purse was it.
@Teresa502 sorry your friends bailed on you, glad you got your run in though.

@Teresa502 Glad you had a nice, safe run this morning. Sorry your friends all baled on you. Also, Bob sent me all of the results from the race and I realized I got your friends name wrong in my post. It is Sharon, not Sarah, right? I am horrible with names, but have discovered that my brain's filing system is alphabetical. I will often remember what letter something starts with and search through the file until I find the correct one, or not. LOL My mom, on the other hand, remembers things based on a timeline and some object she saw or it reminds her of. Often, together, we can figure things out. It's pretty cool to see the differences in our recall system.
@Scott6255 Way to hang in there in those conditions and get it done!
@skippygirlsmom I hope she was able to get her car and purse without too much trouble. I have AAA for just such times as that. I used to lock my keys in the car all the time - back in the day before key fobs.3 -
hey,
so didn't get out very much the past few weeks. but i had a friend pester me enough to help me get out-and he had no idea.
so i took Speed Demon out. the weather was 70's yesterday. i was overdressed and her wintercoat has started to grow in. so we were slow, very slow.
i also took control of my anxiety yesterday and asked a local running group questions i had about their runs. will someone run slow enough for me? can i run with my dog? etc. and they were all very nice. since i got answers, i might be able to overcome my anxiety and go. just to see. then i might have someone keep me accountable to show up.
i also joined the 12 days of yeti
and this one too because i like the gear. i've been trying not to do too many virtual runs.
that being said this one looks cute and a friend would do it with me
