What is your "Petty" Reason to Lose Weight?

Can’t wait to no longer be chubby and my ex can’t call me fat anymore. So sick of being called “fat” in arguments. I’ve been insecure about my weight for so many years and it’s the one insult that truly hurts me and makes me feel unwanted24

I seem to do well when I know my friends are actively losing weight... maybe I am competitive haha.11

My petty reason to loose waight is to feel good about my self when I walk in a room.
Make my heart healthy. Have good skin.
Not have my body be shoked when I need to do something physical.8 -

Oh. I bought a bikini. I managed 20 proper push ups last night. *chuffed*24 -
current minor petty reason to get under 230 again. it's a mental threshhold of really big (not knocking those that are heavier in any way, just a personal thing).

Petty reason: I miss my lethal cheekbones. I miss the "healthy" way I filled out a pair of bootcut jeans or pencil skirts in 2018.11

One word. Cellulite.6

Just want to feel healthy and wear trendy clothes not being just limited to XL stuff🙁10

I want to look good naked. I have a new friend with benefits and I really want to be able to do all sorts of things without my fat getting in the way.10

I want to be able to buy cute clothes. When your a plus size, it seems those choices are very limited.15

I haven’t been in military fit shape in year's always barely passing the fitness tests. I originally started cutting weight and getting back into the gym a month and a half ago for my son. But over the past couple weeks my mind set has shifted to prove to what could possibly be my future ex wife that changes are possible no matter how many times we failed. There’s so much more I could say, but really it’s just to prove her wrong and make her realize what she’s missing out on between me and our son.20

To wear a sexy Halloween costume next year hopefully 😂18

I see my husband again in three weeks. I want to have more definition in my arms and *kitten*. A petty victory and a small goal on a much longer path10

To not get annoyed by my protruding belly when I sit,
not have my thighs rubbing each other when I walk,
and to feel comfortable wearing most pants/skirts.15 -
Because I can't stand the cellulite that I see in my arms when I flex my triceps.
Or the fact that my butt is so dimpled it looks like it should be stamped with "top flight"12 -
There are no petty reasons. Caring about yourselves is serious business.11

I want to not have so much shoulder and upper back pain from the "huge tracts of land". My mother wound up having a reduction, and I'd rather not have surgery, but it's becoming an issue. Hopefully as I continue to lose I'll lose some from there as well.11

I know that many of us choose to lose weight because we want to have a healthy lifestyle and feel better about ourselves, but c'mon, we also have "I'm going to stick it to X" reasons.
For me, it's because I don't want to be the fat gay cousin. I want to be the hot gay cousin. I also want people's minds to be blown when I can lift heavy boxes by myself.
What's yours?
I want to run faster8 -
It’s probably stupid, but I want my neck to become thinner and more defined so that I don’t look like a fat, middle aged “Karen” when I cut my hair super short. My thick neck is one part of my body I’m most self-conscious about.15

I don't like tight-fitting clothes is one smaller reason. Especially trousers!8

My husband is reaching his goals.. I don't want to be his fat wife21

I want to stop looking pregnant.17

I grew out of my motorcycle gear. For my mom it was scuba gear. Not cheap to buy new, so gotta fit in the old ones. So that and sex...6

I'd like to show my ex-husband that he didn't win. I gained a lot of weight during and after my divorce. It was just such a difficult time for me. I was also pregnant when he left our marriage, so it was inevitable that I was going to gain weight. Sometimes I feel like when he sees me he's happy that I look fat and miserable. When I first met him I was active, fit, and gorgeous. I was even featured in an issue of Shape magazine. Last year, he told me that he purposely said and did things in our marriage to make me feel bad about myself. Is that petty enough? lol
Been there, just like you wrote. Part of taking back personal power over a bad situation like that is taking control of your own health. Geez, I've never been in a magazine, but if you did it before, you can do it again! Sometimes the things people say to us turn into things we start to believe and say to ourselves. However, they are not the truth!14 -
i keep coming back to the weigh less than my husband.

I can honestly say none of my reasons were petty - being morbidly obese.5

I’m having baby #2 and I never got to where I wanted to be after my first due to postpartum depression and lack of major motivation :P
I want to show people that babies don’t ruin your body (because that’s what everyone is telling me) and that I can even fitter than before I had kids. I’d love to compete in a bodybuilding show again too 💪🏼💪🏼13 -
A mutual friend of my ex husband and me told me that he was telling folk I'd put on all this weight because I was so distraught over losing him. I didn't. I put on all this weight cause I'm lazy and I love chocolate... get over yourself mate. I basically want to stop being a talking point.24

to look good naked like the others say
to take bomb photos where the clothes fit on me as i'd like them to
to look slinky like my fav belly dancers11 -
To fit in my traditional clothing again, they're expensive to get in bigger sizes again 😜9
