walked with my friend yesterday evening. First really long walk since before I got sick- Felt great!!! A bit nippy and was very glad to have my mask on beings it cuts the cold air I am breathing. I did have to do a nebulizer treatment when I got home but, by the end of the night, I was at 14,000 steps!! I have only been at 10,000 once since getting Covid.
Happy to be getting my energy back- it has been a while.

Snowing here, probably about 2 inches on the ground. The problem is the wind, most of the snow is going sideways. Our power went out about 1:00 this morning so the house is cold. I really did not want to get out of bed this morning but animals had to be fed and of course water was frozen. We had some hot water in the house and the stove top but most everything is electric. Power finally came back on about 11. Temp in house was down to 51*. Still only about 54* so we are bundled up and planning nothing but reading, crocheting or doing a puzzle.
Tracy - Sorry about Dillion.
KJ - congrats on the license. The Forest school sounds interesting.
Everyone take care Sue in WA5 -

We have snow on the ground which is rare. I can see a large number of geese on the island across from us. They are grouped together at the very edge of the island next to the river. Maybe they were picking up sand. The geese have flown away.1

Deb--So sorry to hear about the passing of Savannah Belle.
Tracey--Sorry to hear about Dillon passing. I think it is terrible that family can not be with them. I know at the hospital I work at has changed the visitor rules for different patients and letting family be there. Sending prayers and hugs to you and all the family. I am very Blessed with my DH and I need to remember that when I get upset about things.
KateUK--Your first pair of gloves look warm and I enjoy the colors. Great job!
KJ--Happy dance for your group license. Know you have been working on that for a long time.
Only to bottom of page 38, but out of time.
Blessings, Vicki GI NE3 -

This coming week is orientation week at the university in advance of classes starting on Monday 22 Feb.
But I do not have to be there! I am not attending classes this year! WooHoo!
Instead, I am still working my way through the dressing room. If all goes well, I'll finish most of it today. I do have to wrap it up because we have a house inspection next week. When you rent here, there are house inspections about every 3-4 months. After the house inspection I'll do the last remaining touch ups in that room.Machka- Bee keeping is so fascinating! I imagine for something like that, you are either all in or not. There really isn't a "I will just get a few bees" sort of area for beekeeping. lol BUT, wow, the benefits of bees...
I'm thinking that one hive will do, my husband would like two hives. I'd prefer to start with one and am hoping to convince him of that.
We do have to check what the council by-laws are regarding bees. We know what they are generally in the state but each council can be different.
Then I'm hoping to be able to take a hive-building class if possible. The place we took the beekeeping course also runs Warre Hive building courses, but not right at the moment ... maybe close to winter.
https://www.naturalbeekeeping.com.au/warrebeehives.htmlGood morning all! Happy Saturday! I don't think I checked in yesterday; I got my group license! Yea! I am in no rush to fill up spots and have 12 children in my house. I may take one or two (which would give me a daily total of 8 or 9 kiddos, depending on the day). I want to have the space/energy to allow the two kindergartners to be here if school shuts down again this year. I also have one family that is pregnant with their second child; baby due in Sept (due in care in December). If I have things organized the way I would like in my back yard this spring, I will take on more kids in the summer. My plan, is to move to a "Forest school" set up. Have the kids get used to spending 80-90% of our day outside while the weather is warm and agreeable; that way when it cools down in the fall; they will be used to being outside and their little bodies will acclimate to better to the gradual temp change. My plan is to use half of the garage as a "warming shelter/nap shelter". Hopefully, my youngest will be out of the nest by October. (I love him dearly, but it is past time)

Debbie ... sorry to hear you’ve lost your fur baby... hugs
Tracey... so sad about Dillon...
Kelly ... Congratulations!
Kate ... I think the gloves look great!
Cold here too. We get “nuisance” snow of about an inch almost every day. Lake Erie has frozen over so heavy snows are now unlikely. Took this photo a couple days ago...

Did a yoga DVD. I think I’ll cancel my membership to Workout Anytime. I see that Anytime Workout has a classroom. I never realize how much I needed a classroom or at least some place where I can exercise and not disturb others. I just can’t do a month of nothing but cardio and I don’t think I’ve used machines in about 10 years. To me, they isolate the muscles too much. Probably good for rehab, tho. The one machine I have used is the assisted dip, otherwise, I haven’t used them. Also, many times you’re sitting so you’re not using your abs.
Weather is supposed to be in the 80’s today and in the 70’s tonight. I think I’ll wear shorts and maybe take a pair of pants with me in case I need them. Update: I wore pants since it was cloudy. Took my sweater and wore it. The breeze was chilly since we are high up, but had to take it off when we were leaving.
Went to the workout place to cancel my membership. I did send an email yesterday, but it was thru their website so I don’t have any proof I sent it if it gets “lost”. Going there I was told that the guy who can issue the refund can’t do it until Monday. Even tho the guy at the desk wrote a note that I want to cancel, I can see that getting “lost”. So I also sent a message by Facebook with dates, etc. That’s the only way I can think that I can have proof of my intention. Then I went to the other workout place but only members can get in on Sat. or Sun, you need an appointment otherwise. So…I went to Brevard Charities but there wasn’t a parking space and I had no intention of waiting –it’s not that important. So I went to the SPCA thrift store. Got two yoga DVD’s, not that I really need them. Also got a bowl to take this salad to a lady I will be seeing, we’ll probably go to her house so I should take something with me. I can’t find the yoga mat I could have sworn I brought down here. Also couldn’t find the box of cheerios so we bought more, no biggie
Heather – Bea looks so happy and I’m sure she is, seeing you and getting her coat. It’s so pretty
Kate – beautiful gloves
Beth – what icles!
Went up to Daytona today and will go again tomorrow. Vince is talking about going to the road course there next weekend and I think that might be interesting if he goes
Gonna get ready for bed.

KJLaMore: Congrats on your group license! WTG!!!
I have already mentioned that we’ve had some snow! YAY!!! Snow is a rare thing around here. We’ve enjoyed the beauty and looking out to see the view. We have enough food on hand that we have not needed to go food shopping. I have a short list of things we don’t have at home just now. Maybe we’ll go and shop for them tomorrow. We’ll see what the road looks like in the morning.

I’ve read and caught up, have been reading as I had time off and on through the day so didn’t take notes.
Our kitchen sink saga continues but this is a bit funny.
Today I looked on Marketplace to see if we could find a decent looking sink for a reasonable price. I found one including a faucet for 40.00. The guy was upgrading, nothing wrong with it so we agreed on a time for me to pick it up. I had physio but it ran later today and I had decided to take our eldest and granddaughter with me for the drive as it was about an hour away. I texted the guy to say I would be late and he said it was no problem. He sent me a picture of a bottle of whiskey and told me if I wanted to save some money I could bring him whiskey instead of cash. So I bought a kitchen sink for a bottle of whiskey and saved myself $10.
Physio didnt go well again today, more restrictions put on. Two more exercises added. I’m tired of the pain.

Tracey: Sorry about physio restrictions & being tired of pain. I hope it gets better soon. 🌹0

Tracey - So sorry for your pain. (((HUGS)))
I was especially happy to have run home from the park yesterday. No doubt seeing the grandchildren gave me a boost of adrenalin! It's been a while now since I went running, partly weather, partly my gluteal tendonopathy. I was beginning to feel discouraged and that I would never run again. It's definitely given me a bit of confidence. Strangely, I hardly realised I was doing it to start with, as I was all dressed up in my big quilted coat and my bag on my back. Somehow I broke into a gentle trot out of sheer joy.
My son wants us to all meet up at Devil's D y k e next weekend. That means me getting in a car for the first time in over a year. I don't want to, as the last three times I have been driven by DH there has almost been an accident. However, I realise that I have to do it sometime. I will sit in the back and not look out. I really can't avoid it for ever, but I don't want to go on motorways. The downs are only a couple of miles away. It really has developed into a phobia for me, but DH's driving skills are very rusty with the lockdown. The car has sat outside for months on end.
Valentines Day today. I did a very rush job on the presents, but got them wrapped! Just about to make a cup of tea.

Skimmin’ as I’m pretty sleepy. What the heck DID I do Friday and Saturday… obviously didn’t move enough and ate way way too much.
Tracey, I set our DVR to record Young Sheldon and surprise! There was a marathon and I got 28 episodes including most of season 1. Binge watched season 1 Friday and Saturday, oh, maybe that’s why my sugar intake was up and steps down. Thanks a lot ;}
Julie sorry to confuse. “Chose well” and “Bonus” are things I actually did. “Get to do” is my to do list, you’ll see some things have been on there forever… ;} The fire district work is self interest, we live in a drought-stressed forest.
Kate the gloves.

Michele that hydromassage chair sounds very attractive. Was it warm? “…God will take it away”

3 or 4 power outages today but longest was only 3 hours. Served to remind me to be grateful for being able to get food out of fridge/freezer, use oven (propane but uses electricity to maintain temp), power up laptop, charge cell phone and flush toilet (water pump runs on electricity).
Lighter, lovelies!

So sorry to hear the sad news about Dillon. Aww but so sweet the couple in the residence got to be together again.
Debbie
So sorry for your loss, as Barbie said, we don't have our furry friends long enough. It must have been very distressing seeing his seizures.
Michele I had a flashing in my right eye, a bit like lightening. I remember my friend had something similar and it was quite serious so made an appointment straight away to see the optician. Nothing serious in my case, could be the start of cataracts (great!) but all okay, nothing to worry about. Put my mind at rest. I have an appointment to see the eye specialist at the hospital in March as changes were found to my cornea at my last eye test, but trying to not to worry about that.
It's freezing here, on dog walks I'm wearing extra layers- cardigan, waistcoat, ear muffs, hat scarf, gloves and leggings. makes it a bit difficult when having a hot flush though I'm pulling off my hat and scarf like a crazy person. My daughter says I go very pink and breathless, it makes me feel quite ill sometimes. I'm having terrible night sweats at the moment too, far more than I normally have. Who was it that said getting old is not for the faint hearted!
I'm still catching up but in the meantime take care

@auntiebk Barbara, thanks for explaining the "Chose well” , “Bonus” and“Get to do”.
Cold here, by our standards. Yesterday a bit of a, off day, a bust. Decided to make today an off day.
Had to kick butt a bit to get myself out for a walk, but went for an hour and a half i think; very sunny, got an espresso to go at bakery on way out, and a relatively light GF pastry to go on way back.
Lowkey stuff today, no pressure:
options :20 min recumbant
10-20 min arm/upper body
15 min meditation
make GF brownies to freeze
declutter 15 min (bathroom or closet near bathroom)1
