What are some of your unpopular opinions about food?

I'm the opposite. I love entree soups and salads (or I might have them together). How filling they are, IMO, depends on what you put in them. To me they aren't about filling up for few cals, as if I'm having soup or stew for lunch or dinner, or a giant salad, they are going to have the same cals as any other dinner or lunch I otherwise would have (and also fat and protein, of course).
Sandwiches, on the other hand, are something I rarely eat, since usually I think the stuff I'd put in the sandwich would taste as good or better without adding bread, and I tend to prefer to eat food with a fork rather than with my hands (I suppose that last should go in the food quirk).8 -

Soups and salads are not a meal. Salad is a side dish, at best, and I've yet to find a reason for soup to exist
I know both of these things are supposed to keep me full without spending too many calories, but I find the satiety short lived. I would rather have a sandwich (with some form of leafy goodness in there somewhere) than eat a soup or salad.
Salads definitely have their place, and I enjoy them with a wide variety of meals, but they are a side act to the main contender.
We just put the main contender on top - the greens are just one of the veggies for the meal. This week for lunch, my husband is having his standard salad base with left over tri tip. Last week, it was rotisserie chicken. I am alternating between goat cheese and smoked salmon because I can't do the same thing every day like he does (and there isn't enough tri tip for both of us). I have some blueberries that we aren't getting through quite quickly enough, so I have some of those on my salad, too. Part of his standard salad base is craisins, so he is sticking with his usual. Olives and/or avocado for fats. I also like to add some crunch, like sunflower seeds, but I ran out of all my crunchies. Ground flax seed might do its thing nutritionally, but I just don't notice it at all while eating. I also warm my toppings if I am eating a salad in the winter. Today, I broiled the goat cheese, olives and blueberries until the cheese started to brown, then put that on top the greens.7 -

Most soups and salads are not low calorie unless you make then at home. I can make a meal out of a salad but I add meat and cheese most of the time.2 -

I don't like chocolate, I hate tomatoes, and I think people put bacon into too many recipes. It doesn't always suit everything.1

I've been making pancakes the same way for 50 years and then I saw this video and thought I would try a crepe style pancake.
Actually very good.
