Hi everyone, Nvintage that looks like a good order and aren't there always exceptions? Linda growing up here it was meatloaf, fried chicken, and stew for comfort food, or tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. During the summer it was anything that could be barbecued was and potato salad, macaroni salad, and regular salad. Not to mention the ultimate comfort food macaroni and cheese. Infact I think I'll have that for dinner tonight. A huge plate of macaroni and cheese with garlic bread and butter, and a coca cola. Now that's comfort food. For dessert I think I'll have some chocolate chip cookies and an iced mocha.0

Zzyyggy! It’s a macaroni and cheese extravaganza! Not exactly. When I was a kid I only liked meatloaf when it was cold the next day. Of course, as a kid I also didn’t like soda, chocolate (gasp!), or potato chips and hotdogs made me sick as a dog (allergies are fun). Oh, and jello was only edible if it had grated carrots. I forgot about tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. 😋 Sweetie says he always liked grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Never had one of those. Apparently, I was a sheltered child.
The macaroni and cheese was delicious, Zzyyggy. I ordered an endless plate of Halloween cookies on my way in earlier. Let’s head over to the recliners by the fireplace for cookies and coffee/mochas. I want to finish my book this evening. Looks like Sweetie is settling in front of the tv, for a fun filled evening of Dad TV. Sigh.0 -
Viktor, I’ll have the roast beef, baked sweet potato, and fresh green beans, with iced tea, please. The green beans are really nice at the grocery store right now. I bought some from Georgia that were wonderful. It’s a bit too chilly to sit outside for dinner in the real world, but still lovely here on the terrace at the cybercafe. Betty’s email had pumpkin pecan cheesecake cookie bars that look divine. A definite must-have for dessert. Mm, the bread basket this evening has the cutest little pumpkin muffins and cheesy garlic rolls, too.0

Hi Linda, wow we're here at the same time. I'm going to have the fried chicken tonight with mashed potatoes, gravy and corn on the cob with a coca cola. For dessert I'll have the pumpkin pecan cheesecake cookies as well. Love the bread basket and it's shaped like a jack-o-lantern. It's cold wet and rainy here in the real world so I love sitting out in the cyber sunshine0

Hi everyone, Dees-Apples that does sound good. I am going to have a big plate of spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and a coca cola and salad. For dessert I'm going to have some chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream with an iced mocha. But first a dip in the pool. I'm not sure how Igor got the water striped black and orange but I'm game for a jump in. Looks like he added a few more pumpkins as well.0

That does sound good. I’ve been making roasted Brussels sprouts with balsamic glaze, sometimes with onions, red peppers, carrots, and beets. I think I’ll add that to my shopping list. We’re eating lots of kale. I love kale. It cooks faster than collards and I add kale to soups, salads, and casseroles. I’ve been adding kale to all our salads. Sweetie made kale and white bean soup. I made meatballs and tortellini with kale in an alfredo sauce. It was amazing.
Zzyyggy, I’ve decided that Igor has outdone himself with the Halloween decorations this year! The orange fairy lights on the gazebo are pretty. As for the striped pool, 😮 it’s amazing! Did you know National Chocolate Day is October 28? That means Francois will have chocolate cinnamon buns and chocolate croissants for breakfast. I hope he make his 7 layer chocolate cake for dessert. Which reminds me, I came in for dessert. It would be nice to sit by the fire with a cup of tea and some lemon shortbread.

It's national Chocolate Day today?? I knew I had Reese's peanut butter cups for breakfast for a reason.
Will Francois also be making Cinnamon Buns sans le chocolate? Ooh, 7 layers? Raspberry jam in between? Along with cream cheese icing maybe?0 -

Reenie—yes, yes, yes, and yes! Dees_Apples—no, I haven’t had kale chips. One of these days I’ll find a recipe and make them. Not today, because Francois is in chocolate mode. Mole chili, chicken mole enchiladas, and beef mole for dinner, all served with rice and veggies. Then there’s the chocolate desserts buffet. I see my Fall favorite pumpkin swirl brownies are there.
I’m heading out to the terrace to get an early start on the appetizers. I’m fairly sure there are some without pumpkin or chocolate.
Don’t forget, here at the cybercafe, if you can dream it, you can eat it! My disclaimer is that, unfortunately, I haven’t had any chocolate today and none of the aforementioned foods are on my menu today other than the kale.0 -

Chocolate covered kale chips?
I've never had chocolate covered potato chips but they sound really good.0 -
I've love a big juicy bacon cheese burger, tomato, onion, lettuce, with the works, and a side of sweet potato fries. And for dessert a slice of pumpkin cheesecake, topped with a dollop of whipped cream.
Mmmmmmmyum.
ETA my manners. Please and thank you!!0 -
Hi everyone, Reading your posts makes me hungry, and I was already starving. I've never really gotten into kale although my sister has a great recipe for it which we had last Thanksgiving. Tonight I'm going to have the meatloaf platter with mashed potatoes, gravy and peas. A coca cola with that please, and yes for dessert I'll have that 7 layer chocolate cake with an iced mocha. National chocolate day I new there was a reason I had a package of hershey kisses in my fridge. Okay the striped black and orange pool I can handle but what is that thing floating in the middle. I'm not sure if it's suppose to be a sea monster or an UFO. I'm still going swimming though before dinner and dessert.0

Pssst . . . Zzyyggy, did that thing in the middle of the pool just move? I, I, think I’ll just go inside now and sit by the fire, far, far away from the pool.
Viktor is the best waiter. He’s bring in my platter of goodies from the chocolate desserts buffet for me. Oh, hot chocolate. Thanks Viktor, you’re the best.
And, no, Reenie, we were not talking about chocolate kale chips. I’m not sure there is such a thing. Here, have some M&M’s. Dees_Apples, I had to look up Kontomire stew. There was a huge variation of ingredients in the recipes.0 -
If I catch a pheasant, will yall fry it up for me and make some dumplins0

Francois can cook anything! As for the dumplins—do you like the thick, flat noodle type or the big ball of dough type? My favorite dumplings are potato gnocchi. They’re real easy to make. Where I live all the church chicken and dumpling dinners serve the thick, flat dumplings. My mom used to make the big gummy balls of dough. Of course, she didn’t make them very often because my dad wasn’t big on gravies and sauces, so Mom had to change her down home southern cooking to plain meat and potatoes.
Francois made mini scones, cinnamon buns and croissants this morning. Yum. There’s fresh pumpkin butter and apple butter for the scones, too. I’m going to snag the table by the french doors so I can watch the sunrise. The sun is just coming up now. Ah, coffee.0 -

Luckily for you, Viktor will serve your sandwich, because if PaperDoll _ served you today, she might quite literally throw your sandwich at you after taking a bite or two first.
Francois and I made stew today and when the carrots and potatoes finally cook, I’m going to have a bowl of that with Francois’ crusty bread smothered with lots of butter. In the meantime, I’ll take my iced tea and a bowl of grapes out on the terrace and read my book. The grapes are wonderful this time of year, so sweet they taste like candy.1 -
Hi everyone, Dees-Apples that's my kind of lunch just add a coca cola to that. Linda, it's still fairly safe to swim in the pool. I made it out safely last night. The sea monster is a friendly one, and enjoying the pool for the winter. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the seafood chowder, no Mr. Monster I don't think they are any of your realitives with lots of crusty bread to dip, and a coca cola with that. For dessert I'm going to have some chocolate chip cookies and an iced mocha. Aaaaa another nice night for a swim.0

Easy to please! But I think you need to add some potato chips inside the sandwich for some good old salty crunch. I used to do that with tuna sandwiches, as a kid.0 -

Hi everyone, Reenie HJ I did that too with my tuna sandwhiches. Dees-Apples your welcome. We had a similar thread which started back in 2013 on spark people and when that sight shut down I thought of setting one up here to see who would come in. LindaK and I have been on the thread for years, and have had some interesting times in there. I'll join you on the out door terrace with a porter house steak baked potato and salad. Add a coca cola to that please. For dessert I'm going to have some pumpkin pie and coolwhip, and an iced mocha. The fairy lights add some charm to the place.0

Hey, Zzyyggy, what does the cybercafe look like? Oh, yeah, I’m going to let you take that one, since the cybercafe is ever changing, anything you want it to be. Back at the beginning it was a small cafe in a little known place on the southern coast of France, run by ChicChantel.
I came in for a cup of tea and a piece of apple pie. Finally got the apple custard pie made, Zzyyggy. It isn’t something I would make again. Peach custard pie is divine, but apple custard pie? Not so much. Yes, the apples and crust were good, but the custard was just okay. I know the pumpkin swirl brownies are a big hit, but pumpkin pie is less work.0 -
Zzyyggy! I’m a little slow tonight. It must be because I’m tired. You started the thread, so the cybercafe cafe is yours. Cool, huh? You own it!0

Fairy lights!! That's what my place needs to spark it up.
Why did Sparkpeople shut down; do you know? I visited there a long time ago.
Apple Crisp sounds good today, hot out of the oven with lots of Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. And a good cup of coffee. Sitting around the table, chatting with new friends.
But...pumpkin pie....hard choices. Maybe both?
Where are all the waiters/waitresses today? Do they have Halloween off? Shouldn't they be here already to go, and in costume?0 -
