"Get to do"s and "chose well"sChose well: take BP, dogs to powerline, livestream church, zoom council.

October
31: Set a goal that brings a sense of purpose for the coming month: after readings and before solitaire- invest just 5 minutes a day excavating the sewing machine.
November
1: Make a list of new things you want to do this month: cut torn sheets and practice sewing; try recipes containing Harisa; learn new dances (Tequila Little Time, Homesick, Nothing but You, A Little Less Broken, Blame it on my beating heart, Do Your Thing, practice dances: All Night, TGIF, I ain’t never gonna love nobody but Cornell Crawford (Alley cat), One Margarita, I’m So Used to Being Broke);
Thank you Barbie. That Scream meme was me on the scale this morning. Too much Munching
Ugh. Gained almost 4 lbs this month. This before Halloween candy, Thanksgiving feast, Christmas cookies, homemade toffee and adult fudge. Can’t blame it all on the edema which has mostly receded. Could it be those midnight cocoa and cookie comforts? Time to go back to yoghurt treat or just a cup of Sleepytime vanilla and trust it will make the difference.
Just skimming but Carol’s, pip’s, Heather’s, Margaret’s, Beth’s, Debbie’s and Tracey’s pics.
Kay con VERY gratulations on leaving the obese category behind. Well done!
Michele Lexi’s story is a heartbreaking one. How many good years have you and Vince given her?
Tracey 1987??? Sure hope Rodger’s eye appointment goes well Wednesday. Praying your pain eases and hoping your next physio appointment is soon and successful.
Julie pre-writing is still work, and necessary for the writing to progress. Well done.

The weather looked OK this morning. The wind had died down and the sun was shining. I set off for my run. Oh dear! I saw looming clouds over the sea, looking very ominous. I doubled back and did several loop the loops culminating in a run up to the seafront café. Looking very empty.
I ran home via the deli, where I picked up veggies for a smoked haddock stew.
Thus morning I got an email from the local free magazine, 'The Hovarian', wanting to feature me as Local Author of the Month for December! I've got to send in a photo and answer some questions. So, my efforts yesterday bore some fruit! I feel a bit nervous about it, but will persevere.
Thank you Barbie! I totally agree about fewer 'things'.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx

November Plans
- Cycling - including at least one 50 km ride.
- Walking regularly.
- Pilates and strength training at home.
- Running - easing into it.
- Climb Mt Wellington - Hobart's Mountain - virtually as part of a stair climbing challenge at work. It's a smaller mountain but I want to focus on other exercise.
- Audax - communications work. We don't have any events to run till December
- Events - maybe a little travel around Tassie.
- Medical - I had an appointment today, my husband has one tomorrow and one the day after. If all goes well, that might be it for the month! That would be nice!!
- Plus, of course, my 2021 To Do List - getting organised, simplifying, etc. ... only that list seemed to get longer throughout October.
Or maybe I didn't have the time and energy.
Hopefully I've got more energy this month! But so far, it's not looking good. I didn't sleep well last night, dragged through the day, and fell asleep on the bus before we left the city ... and struggled to wake up for my stop.
However, I did perk up enough to plant my flower seeds with my husband this evening and practice a little piano before dinner.

Cold enough this morning to for me to graduate to wearing my winter coat--it's red and I love it.5

Where the soil is dark is where we planted today ...
Incidentally, I snapped this photo last week ... those are our fuel prices in Australian dollars per litre. I take the bus and walk a lot.

Well Alfie is at Toms .. i have chocolate chip cookies in the oven for the guys and I got about another hours sleep in.. but I know ill be dragging tonight.. i cant figure out how to get the window blinds off the window and im sure hoping these guys know how.. they are the expensive kind and ill probably have to figure out how to get them back up. All I need is to have Alfie barking at everyone and everything coming by..
I have to learn to live by what I preach . To accept the things I cannot change, and have the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference ...6 -

Happy November! Thank you for the thread Barbie!
Trick or treat is generally a nuisance for me. My parents hand out candy while I stay in the back bedroom with a barking dog. We had kids come by for two hours.
Today is my parents' first doctor appointment in over a year. It will be the first time I go with them. It promises to be awkward. Or maybe I'm just anxious about going out to a new place. But this will be the new normal.

Good Morning:
Just starting my weight loss journey again. I am working on losing 30 to 40 before I go to Disney in 93 days.
Just turned 54 last month. Ready to get this weight off so I can have my hernia fixed next Summer.
I have started walking daily. I am on Day 3. I do about 20 to 30 min. Goal is to build up to at least an hour. I also have a job where I am on my feet all day. So I do at least 5,000 steps at work alone.
My Weight Loss goals for Nov.
1. Walk 5 out of 7 days a week
2. Bring my Lunch to work daily
3. Log all my food.
Looking forward to getting to know all of you

Heather awesome for the hovarian
Barbara sorry about the up. I am alas also in that general direction. courage and strength in going from cookies to yogurt (most days?)
Machka oo! love the irises
hmmm not in top gear today.
I did do overall replan but didn't do the long busy work of re organising
nor did I do the less busy-work work of re-composing (creating links and getting rid of bits).
I'm wondering if I should just take the whole day off - hopefully to be fresher to hold out.
I'm not sure if I've taken a day off in past 2 weeks (since 2 Sundays ago) when I spent all Sunday with friends out of town in the burbs near the forest (and for a little walk in the forest).
I'm thinking - that I SHOULD take a full day off and it'll work out better long term.
I think taking one full Sunday off every 2 weeks can work in intense periods.
yesterday I only worked about 4h on writing but some say one can only work 2 or 4h.
I dunno. I have done 8 with re-reading and editing and writing/rewriting for a 2 month stint, BUT that was 10 years ago and I was more energetic then! AND it was just 2 months in lovely springtime with long sunny encouraging days. not like cool rainy today.
OR I could take MORE Time off and still work a bit....
I did walk a bit maybe 45 min at least and did 1h cleaning listening to a lovely Blinkest book synopsis. Todays one- something on philosophy: Blinkest - do you know it- it gives 15 min audio synopses of non-fiction books. I find it great for during cleaning!
CLEANING today: bits and bobs in kitchen, living room, laundry, bath...1 -
Barbie: Thank you for the great 'scream' meme and words of wisdom to get us started for November. Where has the time gone?
Today my head is on Dia de los Muertos. My ofrenda is up including photos of 1 GGM, 2 GMs, 1 BIL, 1 half brother, my parents, my DB and my DH. I have put out Skittles for my brother and a Lara Bar for my DH. Many battery powered candles and tall marigolds surround the altar. I am happy with the results. My brother was a big lover of this holiday, and so I plan to visit his favorite Mexican restaurant today. The staff there really loved him, and they have Greg's photo tucked on a shelf near his favorite seat at the bar. Hope that I can hold it together. Deep breaths. 😔
First, coffee. Then a walk with the Leash-Loving Cat, followed by a drive to the clinic where I have an appointment for my Covid booster.
Stay well, friends.

I woke up early thinking it was Sunday! Aack! I hate when the days mesh together! I decided to make wild rice in my cooker, then afterwards I plan to mix it up with my olive bruschetta and some sliced tomatoes I need to use up. I plan on measuring out a yogurt container full, freezing them and wrapping in plastic. The yogurt containers are the kind with the lips that pull off. For lunch I will cut up the rest of my kielbasa sausage, along with a couple of chicken broth cubes, and some of the prepared rice mixture. Maybe a small salad.
Interestingly enough, I lost from yesterday to today. Yesterdays meal was a bit strange as it was leftovers. I took a spoonful of Lee's leftover sausage gravy (canned), added two chicken broth cubes, some of Lee's leftover scalloped potatoes (I just wanted the cheese sauce from them as I picked most of the potato pieces out. I added cut up roasted chicken, some cheddar cheese, leftover spaghetti noodles and some diced tomatoes. It was a cheesy chicken Alfredo mishmash. I then had graham crackers with a heated marshmallow inside, and coffee. And from one day to the next I lost .4 lbs. Crazy. 🙃😁
Downloaded some Kindle books for Athena and I to read. They plan on moving day to drop us off at the new house with snacks and toys, then they will go get the uhaul, pack it and drive over. Their home is only further down a large street in Vancouver WA. Still within their same general area though. I'm excited for them! I told my daughter inlaw, its my hope to organize their kitchen enough to prepare Thanksgiving for them. Nothings homemade its only cans, boxes, and packets! I told her it might just be easier to just have slabs of turkey from the deli, we can warm up in chicken broth. Easier than a huge turkey!
Happy Monday to most, and happy whatever day it is in your neck of the woods.💖🙃

Oh my I was just whining about gasoline prices here... so I pulled out the calculator and started to convert your prices into US pricing so just converting the money in US dollars it would be $23.13 per liter. and we buy in Gallons so that is 3.78 liters which means the price in the US would be $87.57 per gallon1 -
Barbie – Thank you again for starting us off for November. Your lovely woman on the scale could be me. I need to take better care of myself this month. Lightening up is important, both emotionally and physically. I need to do more of this -:
Lisa – I choose the same goals each month, too. They work very well when I follow through. :ohwell:
Michele – It is so nice when you know your adult children are responsible. Mine are, too.
Dr. Katie – My iphone is OLD. It still works and I don’t plan to replace it until it goes to iphone heaven. They would love to sell me a new one, but it won’t happen today. :noway:
M in OZ – Your cycling has given me a nudge to get busy riding my terratryke. It is on a trainer in the garage and I can ride there in any weather. I can hear the rain outside now as I sit at my desk. I injured my knee a while ago and I currently have two appointments with a physical therapist. I hope they will be helpful. Your landscaping is wonderful. :flowerforyou:
Pip – I love the photos and look forward to seeing them. Walking along the beach with Yogi looks wonderful.
Tracey – I hope you’ll be able to enjoy the northern lights. We have a cloud cover now that would prevent any view of the night sky. If you’re able to take a photo I would love to see it.
Allie – Having strangers in the house can be stressful. I hope all goes very well. :flowerforyou:
Barbara & Pip – We didn’t have a single trick or treater, either. I still have container of kind bars next to the front door. :ohwell:
Heather – Your photo of the sea and sky is lovely.
Rori – I am also having coffee this morning. Enjoy walking your kitty. We’ve had our CoVid boosters. I had an easy time with number three, but DH had a headache for a couple of days. I hope you have an easy time with the booster, like I did.
Rebecca – I love your photos! Your grandchildren a beyond cute. :flowerforyou:
Yoga starts at 10 am. I’m tired this morning and I’ll stay home. I have physical therapy on my knee tomorrow & I have no idea what physical therapy will be like. My doctor referred me there and I respect his guidance.

Just after the cleaner arrived I got a phone call from BBC Sussex Radio to ask about my books. They are interested in interviewing me for their lunch time slot sometime. They want me to send them both volumes of my memoirs, so it will depend on what they think of them. Actually I can drop them off tomorrow on my way to the lunch date with G.
I'm very nervous about what they will make of the books.
I managed to answer the questions for the Hovarian and found a couple of photos. So that's done.
Now cooking a smoked haddock and leek chowder thing. Asparagus on the side.
Love from a shaky Hovarian xxxxxxxx5 -
Good Morning ladies:
I started my weight loss journey again and have been on track for 55 days now (down 13 pounds).
My main goal is to be healthier. I started slow with logging and trying to eat healthier.
My November goals are
1. Continue to log everyday.
2. Start walking 20 minutes, 3 times a week.
3. Drop below 200 AND maintain through Thanksgiving holiday. I will be on vacation for 9 days during that time.
I appreciate the support
