November is a big month for me. I am a little nervous, and not feeling well today. Working from home because I didn't trust myself to drive. I will work the rest of the week, Lord willing, and next Monday, and then at about 1:00, I will visit oncology for lab work and after getting those results, move on to the health clinic for my Covid test, and then I work from home, self-isolating, through Thursday. Big surgery November 12. I've never had such a long surgery -- it could potentially be 4 hours, but will be at least 3 hours.
Everyone take care.

Oh my I was just whining about gasoline prices here... so I pulled out the calculator and started to convert your prices into US pricing so just converting the money in US dollars it would be $23.13 per liter. and we buy in Gallons so that is 3.78 liters which means the price in the US would be $87.57 per gallon
Your decimals might not be in the right place.
1 Australian dollar is 0.75 US dollars. So 1.80 (approx) is 1.35 per litre. 1.35 * 3.78 = $5.103/gallon.

GAS PRICES: In France it's the equivalent of about 7.50 US dollars per gallon. Italy's prices are slightly higher.

Action for Happiness Calendar for November ...
https://www.actionforhappiness.org/november
This month's theme: New Ways November
This month, we're encouraging you to try something new! Learning something new or getting involved in an activity that really absorbs and interests us is great for our wellbeing. Keeping our brains active is not only good for us physically but it can help you feel you are flourishing as you see yourself make progress with a new skill, or just make you smile as you make a mess and decide to start again. Being playful and trying new things is important, as is remembering that it's OK not to get it right first time - change "I can't do it", into "I can't do it...yet!" This month's calendar is full of ideas to help you decide what to try next.
1) New Things I Want To Do This Month
- actually make progress on my To Do list!! Last month I added things to the list. This month I'd like to cross things off as done!
- playing piano is still pretty new for me
- making Christmas ornaments with nail polish
- having son and daughter-in-law for dinner
- going camping with husband for first time since accident ... maybe
- planting flowers
2) Respond To Difficult Situation In New Way
I'm kind of running out of new ways to respond to my difficult situation. However, one thing I try to do when things are getting difficult is to smile. Evidently I have a resting grouchy face which may make people respond defensively to me ... so I have consciously tried to produce a beaming smile at times. I probably look like Sheldon Cooper when he tries to do that, but that's OK. It's a start.

Debbie - love your son and his girlfriends costumes.
Heather - that’s great to be featured as the author for the month. You’ll rock it!
Julie - I couldn’t work 2 weeks with only one off for any length of time. I’ve done it occasionally but now it really plays me out.
Machka - those gas prices are crazy, it is 1.41 in Edmonton and 1.28 here in Leduc for the past few weeks.
Katla - my friend and I sat in her truck for over 2 hours waiting for them to come. They never arrived, because of the solar flares they were forecast to be spectacular. This is a picture that someone further North than I posted. They didn’t get them either, but they sure have a sense of humour.
Vicki - hope they settle their differences and it am works out. My daughter in the picture yesterday has dyed her hair several colours. The colour in the picture is about 6 months old. This was the original. I didn’t like it at first but it’s grown on me.
Mary - happy “new” happy engagement!
Flea - hugs to you.
Allie - Glad it was an easier day than you were expecting.
Cheri - my husband was a truck driver in our early years. I used to go on the truck with him about every 6 months to try to keep close. Anyway, one of my absolute favourite states was Virginia. I still vividly remember Fancy Gap mountain (I think that’s the name) and it was like a scene from Heidi came alive.
Had a long day today and will have another tomorrow. I think I’m about ready for a vacation.

Sorry I didn’t mean to out the ornament tree in there. It won’t let me edit my post to take it out.

Today my head is on Dia de los Muertos. My ofrenda is up including photos of 1 GGM, 2 GMs, 1 BIL, 1 half brother, my parents, my DB and my DH. I have put out Skittles for my brother and a Lara Bar for my DH. Many battery powered candles and tall marigolds surround the altar. I am happy with the results. My brother was a big lover of this holiday, and so I plan to visit his favorite Mexican restaurant today. The staff there really loved him, and they have Greg's photo tucked on a shelf near his favorite seat at the bar. Hope that I can hold it together. Deep breaths. 😔

Rori, I had never heard of this until my sister had one this year in conjunction with a Halloween open house. She explained it to me. It sounds very nice and meaningful. Her ofrenda had our grandparents, her husband, her son, her step-granddaughter, her MIL, and several others.
Welcome to the new folks!
My scale had a new low today - 188.9. That's right at 8 lbs since I started the metabolic reboot in September, so around a pound per week. I call it a success.8 -
Tracey I love the ornament tree! Great job! I really think that your daughter is adorable love her hair color!

Mary - I have wood cut to make a version of the tree. I haven’t completely figured out the assembly part to hang it though.
She is doing to her hair in her late 20’s early 30’s everything I wouldn’t let her do. 😂
She is very lenient on our grandchildren’s hairstyles. My Grandson is 10 and has had red and blue hair. My granddaughter has only been allowed streaks so far. She has had pink and purple.

We're having a gorgeous day today! Nice break from the rain.
Regarding days off ...
I currently work 9 days out of 14 and am hoping to go to 8 days out of 14 (4 days a week) in the next year or two. That's paid work.
I seem to work for the cycling club and on projects just about every other day and in just about every the evening. I feel like every time I finish something, there are about 4 more things to do. Or each time I think, "OK, I should be able to do this today and get it off the list", about 5 minutes after I start looking at it I discover it has so many aspects it will take me all week.
I take minutes here and there to play the piano or colour and an hour here or there to exercise. Those are my breaks.

I was awake early this morning, so I wrote a covering letter for the books I'm sending to the BBC Sussex Radio. I've enclosed a copy of WELL I NEVER, one of my children’s books, just for fun.
I'll drop them off on the way to the train station.
I listened to an episode of Lunchbreak last night, on BBC Sounds, and she sounded very nice. She was interviewing a guy about his prostate cancer!
First step, see if they like the books. Worry about the interview if it happens.
Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx5 -

Good morning all! Happy Tuesday and Happy November!
Barbie- Thank you for bringing us into this new month!
Flea- Sending strength and healing thoughts/prayers/vibes for this upcoming onc visit.
Tracey- Never apologize for sharing a pic of your amazing crafts! Love the tree ornaments! Also love your daughter's hair! Very cool!
Machka- I had to find a $$ conversion site to figure out your prices. Gas a little over $5! Gas here is hovering around $3/gallon. I don't complain; because I know nearly everywhere else in the world it is much more expensive. My DH complains about it often.
Cheri- Congrats to your DH on his retirement/semi retirement and your upcoming move! I wish my daughter would move a little closer...
Heather- Whoot! Congrats on the book interviews, etc. Put your cape on, Wonder Woman!
Mary- Your Arizona life sounds like a good time! Your husband is a romantic!
Allie- glad they were able to install your slider and window without problem. Enjoy! Sorry about your awful neighbors/HOA! What a pain!
Rebecca- Athena and her parents look like they had a fun Halloween!
Katiebug- Congrats on the loss!
My goals for November:
Water, water, water. Now that it is getting colder, I am having a hard time getting my water in...
walk, walk, walk. lol same as above.
pound of veg/day
Kids ready to "do" things; so I better scoot! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)2
