Wondering how difficult it is to install a new home thermostat. Instructions say a certified electrician is required... but I'm betting that's just for liability reasons.
I did it and *knock on wood* had no issues. It's pretty straightforward, unless yours is super old and you don't have the right wiring. Wouldn't hurt to take the cover off and see what you're working with.2 -
My dad sent me five moving boxes full of yarn and unfinished projects my stepmother left behind that he found recently. Some of these projects go back to the 70s, I'm sure based on the colors and feel of the yarn and NONE of them have any sort of instructions, so that should be fun to figure out.
Of note was an unfinished table runner (or beginning of a blanket). It's in a pattern stitch called "Apache tears", which is honestly beautiful, especially with layered colors. I definitely see myself continuing and trying to find matching yarn for the other end of it (a deep blue). Others are granny squares or afghans with no directions, in which there are 100s made, but not sewn together or entirely finished. It's amazing (IE. daunting) to realize how many projects she left behind.
I also had a good chuckle at some of the old Halloween decorations Dad sent me, including a Caspar the Friendly Ghost and Tales From the Crypt candelabra. Halloween was my stepmom's favorite holiday and honestly, she had sooooo many Halloween decorations that there are many I have not yet seen.9 -
NaNoWriMo always reads to me like a “wah, no write no mo” tantrum, which, coincidentally, is me after 2 paragraphs1

Welllll---I'd suggest you look into that and start labeling correctly before someone does get hurt (or worse ).2 -

I have been... still have a ways to go though. Who ever DIY'd some of the stuff on this house prior to my owning it was, um, less than professional with their work.2 -

OH I HEAR YOU ON THIS.
I live in central Canada. We get, at best, 3 months of potential ab-revealing weather. The rest of the time it's hoodies or parkas.
I am also single (and not planning on changing that), so the ONLY people / beings that would see abs are a) my kids b) my cats and c) my MFP friends list and the occasional forum poster. lol
Some days it's hard to justify all the work it takes to stay lean enough for them to show, for such little reward.

That's about as long as I can go, too. I need a reason to care enough to try... and I don't have that ATM.2
