I'm also feeling hopeful for what the future may bring for all of us.
Wishing you all the luck and strength in the world. Been there done that and its not easy, its an emotional rollercoaster.
Thank you. Luckily I have some emotional support on standby, including one in the most unexpected person but has really been the one that's made me realize this needs to happen for everyone's happiness.4 -
Hold on. Bringing your woman donuts and coffee while she's at work is "simping" or "beta"? Hmmm. Who would'a thought. Lemme kick a dog real quick to bring myself back up to "alpha" status.
Or if my woman was ever heavily pregnant with my kid I should make her bend over with her oversize belly and pick things up when we're together and she drops something. Did I get that one right? Lemme go kick a granny's cane out from her hand so nobody mistakes me for a weak simp.3 -

I doubt 'your woman' thinks that. I know I wouldn't. Isn't that the only opinion that matters?3 -
Am I the only me who can’t see anything but my own posts on my news feed? 🤔1

This "beta, alpha" community is really something. Whatever categorizations make them feel better for their shortcomings 🤷🏻♂️. Apparently being a stable dude is being a providing simp, while being a playboy who pumps and dumps is something to aspire to. Who would've thought.3 -
Haha pumps and dumps. Never heard that before but have known a couple like that.1

I haven't seen snow since 2017 (and that was just a dusting). Our cats (Binx and Jonesy) had never seen it until today.

Have you seen this quote,
"I'm an alpha male" no, you're not. Your an *kitten* that thinks talking over people makes you important. Do you even know what an alpha does?? They feed and protect their pack. Where's your fanny pack full of cheesy crackers, Steve0 -

If you are out with your buds and don't have ibuprofen, Neosporin, and cheesy crackers with you, you are not an alpha0 -

Just found the thread. I thought it was a quote from a show or something.
*actually,* you're describing a woman 😁 Good thread!1 -

@slimgirljo15
Thanks so much! 😊2 -
I haven't been able to stop eating today...like at all.
I bought the snowball m&ms when I got my afternoon soda yesterday because, let's face it, they and the sugar cookie m&ms were just going to taunt me until I tried them. I opened up the snowball ones to try and they were good but I couldn't really bite into the pretzel part so just ate the shell and chocolate surrounding it. Today I polished off the rest of the pack. Three servings.
There was some other stuff I brought to work with me. My boss is gone for the week and it's been REALLY quiet and I'm lazy/fake cleaning up my area of stray papers but, even tho I'm also still working, it's like boredom eating or something. And I spent all last year stress eating (didn't gain anything with my crazy way of logging) and I'm not even stressed this week! Next will be a different story when he comes back.
Anyway, it's freaking me out a little bit because I haven't been this out of control in a looooooooooooooooong time. Like pre-dieting time.

I announced to my husband I wanted a divorce. When people describe it as an emotional rollercoaster, that is entirely accurate.
After my husband went through being angry and grieving for a few days, we seem to be getting along much better than we were before the announcement. We are great friends, and honestly should have done this a few years ago. Oh, and he's already created a dating profile and chatting with some people, which I am totally cool with even if he's using it as a distraction (which I also completely understand). He's not looking for anything serious, just friendship at this point. I can't even imagine doing anything like that right now, although was and still am talking to an old flame that is 6 hours away. The whole thought of getting back out I'm the dating scene with new people as a divorcee is slightly terrifying.8 -

I took a mini break from here not realizing how confusing it would be to add friends once I returned again. I don't remember anyone's usernames 😕1

Well that's a heckuva thing. Maybe some of you remember I sent a package to my dd mid December and it got lost in the mail, still sitting in a huge warehouse 1 city away from where she lives. I'm in the process of filling an insurance claim out, in hopes they'll reimburse us for some of it anyways. In the box was a card and check. On that check was my dh's former place of employment's address because that was the address he was using when he opened that checking account. Guess where that card and check ended up today? At my dh's former employer. WTH. No mention of anything else, nothing, just the opened card and check.
Anyone have a clue what to expect now? I dread calling them because I sit on the phone for 45 minutes and they're not much help. Just wondering if the rest of the package will follow; I had a slip of paper in the box with her address and our return address but it looks like that got lost. Both dh and I are thinking WTH??2 -
They're filming something across the street from where I work and, as I was walking by, I was way more interested in the catering than what they were filming.
Look, I saw the words "mac & cheese", ok?!
@ReenieHJ And I remember! At least the check wasn't stolen or anything but totally weird.0 -
I miss my old friend. He didn't die or anything. I guess if I were desperate I could reach out to him again, but it's over. Just sort of sucks. It ended almost two years ago now. While I have mostly moved on, there are moments that make me think of him. Like today, when I was browsing on discord and some people were having a conversation. If we were still friends, my friend and I would have talked about that.
Not only that, but an even older friend had emailed me out of the blue months ago and then stopped about two months ago. I get attached to people! I can't take this "coming back into my life only to ghost me" nonsense. It hurts.
And because of that, it made me think of another old friend I used to have, and I know he lives in the state next to mine now, and it just makes me wonder... but yeah, I can't get in touch with him either due to how our relationship ended, but that was ten years ago... but still. It just wouldn't be a smart move.
I have people to talk to, but not people I can talk to about the things that consume me, so to speak. Things I care about. It's a bummer, really.
Also, people online are weird. I am apparently good at getting private messages from people that I have zero interest in talking to. And let's face it, a lot of these come from men who I must only assume have no good intentions, and ugh... Not happy with all that, lol.
So, yeah. That's on my mind. Missing friends, but overall, doing okay, lol.4 -
Boss had covid and is coming back today and he's not even here yet and it's already started. He asked what was going on and I didn't have much to tell him and brought up a client who called me yesterday (I was out most of the day at urgent care) and he said he already took care of it and something like he's been out of the office three weeks and he knows more of what's going on than I do and now I'm on the verge of tears and in massive pain when I move around (and it's apparently something stupid like constipation) and I really wish he would just stay away.4
