SW: 367.0 (6000 step goal, goal to lose 2 to 3 lbs. each challenge, go to bed by 11:30, no eating out more than once every 10-day challenge)
Day/Weight/Comment (previous day steps)
3/18 365.4 – 5234 steps.
3/19 362.8 – 6849 steps. So far it is very unusual for me to have a loss 2 days in a row, but I will certainly take it
3/20 363.6 – 4077 steps. I had a very tasty splurge yesterday. It was worth the calories. I am back on it today.
3/21 361.2 – 4344 steps. My mini tax vacation went way too fast!
3/22 360.0 – 6778 steps. I have been doing much better since I went back to using MFP suggested calories and not eating back more than 20% or none of my movement / exercise calories.

Net change 2022 = SW 380.0 EW 367.0 (-13.0) Overall goal: 15-21 lbs.In 2003 Weighed over 600 lbs.My highest weight was 611 in 2003. Weight in 2004 before weight loss surgery was 580. Lowest weight after surgery was 302 in 2007. "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"
In 2005 Weighed under 400 lbs.
In 2007 lowest weight after surgery 302lbs
I joined MFP on March 27, 2010 weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I actually gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and my the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively everyday. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Everyday I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goals…… and the same is true for you too!! We have the power within us.12 -

Round 181 ( my 113th for me). Thanks @QuiltingJaine.
Need to knuckle down now and make each round count, DS's wedding is later this spring & I want to feel happy with myself on the day. Aim this round to be lower than the start, but a pound would be nice, concentrate on good food choices & think before I put anything in my mouth!! Also eat only half daily exercise calories back.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, It's took me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance again!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back under 130. A healthy life style has to be a permanent way of life.SW: 138.8

3/18 138.8 – 4.69 miles walked yesterday, childminding DGS, did eat more than I should, 2 days showing up on the scales. Getting back in the groove today. Liked the brief taste of success last round!!
3/19 138.8 – 9.95 miles, food could have been a lot better choices, need to keep at it !
3/20 139.2 – 13.76 miles walked, most of exercise calories eaten back, but good choices.
3/21 139.2 – 12.86 miles, a glorious spring day, heard & saw our first lark of spring yesterday, such a beautiful song! Ate back half of exercise calories.
3/22 138.4 – 11.41 miles walked, good choices, less than 10% exercise calories eaten.
3/23 137.6 – 8.36 miles walked, most of exercise calories eaten back due to lunch out with DS (3), main course very healthy, salad, egg, ham and small portion of new potatoes, but followed by small piece of homemade lemon drizzle cake mmm mmm mmm !!
Today we meet up with our family to celebrate oldest DGS 4th birthday, the last 2 he "celebrated" in Covid lockdown, so it will be super to get together; meeting at a waterpark, all the little ones are excited (& some of the older ones!!) .

A tad concerned at the minimal amount you are eating, not sure if you are doing it for a short term quick boost to start your weight loss, but I feel the restricted diet is not sustainable for anyone. Hope you don't mind me commenting, just concerned for you.4 -
I have about 28 kg to lose. I use measurements (centimeters) because they aren't affected by salt intake. My weight has been at this value for about 3 months, let's see if I can finally start losing fat.

I'm actually not hungry. I'm just eating to make sure I have something during the day. Even when I have cravings for junk food, I'm not hungry. I just want something sweet to taste. Feels like trying to kick a drug habit.3 -

Day/Weight/Comment
3/18 - 145.5 - I had two Dr. appointments yesterday, so my husband and I ate lunch out in between. Then we celebrated some good biopsy reports for my husband along with St. Patrick's Day with some drinks. My weight might go up some more tomorrow, but that is OK. We enjoyed ourselves yesterday.
3/19 - 144.5 - I'm a little surprised. The scale may have been off this morning but I was in a hurry to get to work and didn't mess around with it. My work lunch will be catered today, so I will make good choices and hope the weight stays for tomorrow.

I didn’t check in yesterday. Almost skipped it today. I am in the throws of a very bad cold that has moved into my eyes. Gross. Dr. thinks it is a bacterial infection, so I am on an antibiotic. Sleep has been terrible.
Have not lost my appetite, Ha!
Enjoying March Madness. A couple of my favorite teams got through round one. Iowa State and Illinois.

3/18- 190 (-1.4) I’m not sure I can trust this, but I’m thrilled!! Down 74.1 pounds since May. Almost at 75!! I’m swimming today. Thirty pounds to go to hit my goal weight and then I’ll figure out if that’s a good place for me.
3/19- 190 (-1.4) It was good to get in the pool yesterday. I have dinner tonight with a friend I haven’t seen for a very long time, so I’ll have that as my indulgence meal this week, so I’ll be bumping up tomorrow. I can’t believe I’m almost in the 180’s. This week, perhaps?
3/20- 191.4 (0) Enjoyed spending time with my friend yesterday. The bump is expected and I’m looking forward to a new low later this week. It’s spring here in Colorado and I’ll soon be back hiking with my sister once the snow melts. I can’t wait.
3/21- 191.4 (0) A quiet day today just doing art business related work. These are the days where it’s a little tough for me to stay on track. So I’ll do my best to stay focused and to drink all my water.
3/22- 190.6 (-.8) On my way back down. I swam my hour in the pool today, so hoping for a new low tomorrow.
3/23- 190 (-1.4) My scale fluctuated this morning and finally settled back on 190, which is still good. But I did see 189 for a millisecond.

Previous days3/18 122.8 Legs are sore from my new strength routine this week. Went to the gym this morning to do strength and intervals. I was able to go up in my Romanian deadlift and my reverse lunges this morning, so that was a good feeling and my forearms are slowly getting stronger. Tonight we’ll be getting Thai takeout for my sister in law’s birthday, so I’m sure I’ll have a sodium induced blip up tomorrow and the next few days. We had corned beef and cabbage last night for St. Patrick’s day and it was so good. I measured everything out and was able to stay within my calorie goals yesterday.
3/19 did not post
3/20 123.2 pre workout 121.9 post work out. It’s been a salty weekend, so hopefully that works it way out in a day or two. Did 45 minutes on the elliptical this morning and sat in the sauna for a bit afterwards too.
3/21 122.4 Food was better yesterday and I already have my day planned out for today and it’s looking good. Hoping to see a new low this round. I’m also planning to stick closer to my macros this week and see how that goes. I did my strength routine this morning and it felt great, my hip was even happy with me after my running intervals. I also managed to bump up a bit in weight in almost each exercise. I’m up to 35# dumbbells for my bench press and love feeling so strong afterwards. So, that’s always nice! I’m planning to check my body composition again tomorrow morning with their fancy scale thing at the gym, so I’ll be sharing those numbers tomorrow. Have a good Monday everyone!
3/22 121.4 Did a 5 mile run on the treadmill this morning. I can’t wait for it to be light out again in the mornings, so I don’t always have to treadmill run. I was running in the dark outside earlier this year/late last year but I wasn’t the biggest fan because of the safety factors involved with it. I used the InBody scale at my gym today and learned that I’ve gone from 27.2% percent body fat in January to now 25.3%. So, I was super excited to see those numbers! It just shows that as I slowly lose this weight I’m gaining muscle mass at the same time. So while it’s slower, my strength training and patience is paying off.
Breakfast was good this morning and super filling (oat bran mixed with homemade apple sauce, cinnamon, cashews, and some vanilla protein shake), lunch will be a salad and dinner is still to be determined.
3/23 120.6 Was super happy to see this number this morning 😊. I did my strength workout this morning along with 8 1 minute fast running intervals and 90 seconds of slower running in between. I ended up being forced to go up in weight by 5lbs for my reverse lunges because the dumbbells I wanted were missing resulting in me using 35# dumbbells instead of 30s. I was able to complete all the sets and my forearm strength was pretty darn good throughout it. So, lots of wins this morning. I was also able to go up in weight with my Romanian deadlifts by 20lbs total. Then, I finished it up with some nice stretching because I had a few extra minutes than normal. This program is starting to get exciting for me by seeing all these strength gains. Food was healthy yesterday, but I had the hungry horrors and went over my allotted calories for the day but still think I maintained a very minor deficit. Happy Wednesday!
I haven’t had a chance to read through most of the posts but plan to catch up soon. Hoping things are going well or getting better for people!

Not quite warm enough yet for real garden cleanup (don’t want to kill the baby insects in the leaf litter), but I can start a few things, including planning some new front yard landscaping. Cheers me right up. Enjoy your day!

@SModa61 Thanks for sharing. Pretty sure the temporary 1 pound gain was not the wet hair...if only it was that easy 😉 I did go back and reflect on my food the day before knowing I had eaten the same amount of calories....two actions were different. 1) I didn't drink enough water and 2) I didn't intermittent fast to 12:00 because I was really hungry. Part of my daily plan, if I have real hunger I eat. Because I knew this was within my fasting time, I ate a banana and then 2 cuties. Day/Weight/Comment
03/17 …..199.8….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
03/18 …..198.8 ….. (Trend weight 198.2) TMI was helpful. Yesterday was not the best of days with left over Chinese and other things I could have done without. I did have more steps overall for the day.
03/19 …..xxxxx ….. Trend weight xxxxx) Up about 4 hours earlier than usual this morning and was guzzling coffee before I realized I forgot to weigh. A broken routine this morning in every way. It’s going to be a rough day with very little sleep.
03/20 …..198.4 ….. (Trend weight 198.4) Relieved.
03/21 …..198.0 ….. (Trend weight 198.3) My trend weight went down a touch and for that I am very happy. Up early posting this morning and then I will be doing a travel day which is much further than usual. I am picking up something from facebook marketplace which is between 3 and 4 hours away (each way). Taking my handyman and there will be lunch or dinner out mid-state. Lots of sitting today so I don’t expect it will be that great tomorrow on the scale, but I will just keep working on it.
03/22 .….. 199.8 ….. (Trend weight 198.4) Golden Corral during travel. I’ll aim for a slim day today.
03/23 …..198.8 ….. (Trend weight 198.5) One pound down today which is probably excess water from the travel/restaurant weight. I did okay yesterday diet-wise. I made some good choices but there is still lots of room for improvement.

Hi, I’m Kathy.
57, F, 5’8”
7th round! Rebooting my lifestyle after several false starts. I need accountability to make sure it gets done.
Return to MFP SW (Dec 2021): 267
HSW: 267
RSW: 245.4
UGW for now: 195, then reevaluate
Goal for this round: less than I started with
2022 goals: move more (okay, move some), eat mindfully
Day/Weight/Comment
3/18 245.4 And a new low to start the round! I hope this is a good sign for the next 10 days. Heading into a busy weekend so I’ll be mindful. Have a good weekend, y’all!
3/19 DNW
3/20 246.2
3/21 247.4 Lots of eating out with friends and family this weekend (today’s our 30th anniversary) so this jump is not unexpected despite making generally good choices. Hitting the water hard and being especially mindful of sodium intake for the next couple of days should help.
3/22 245.8 Coming back down. Great workout last night – knee strengthening and cardio. The Pollening has begun here, so outdoor activities will be curtailed for the next few weeks until that calms down. Meals are planned and logged and my water cup is full next to me!
3/23 245.6 Still headed the right direction. Actually back in the office today so I brought all my food with me. Meals are all logged.

Came in under 200 cal yesterday and logged all macros/micros….I’ve eaten the same food on other days - didn’t result in weight gain.…the mysteries of this journey. They were added into my nutritional chart and my calories/nutrition was on target at the end of the day. But yesterday I made sure to up the water and maintain my morning IF. (I still would have had a a fruit/veggie if I experienced real hunger during that time....one of my plans for success is to not let myself get too hungry.). This morning I was back on track and dropped the pound I had gained the day before. Was it the dry hair, the water, keeping my morning fast....If I knew for sure, I could bottle it and sell it. 3/23-DNW-Long day, up before dawn to bake cinnamon rolls for DH to take to work. Then off to the dentist for a crown and rand errands while I was out and about. Got a light horse ride in; that guy and I both need exercise. Baked salmon fillet and had broccolini and salad for dinner then went out and gardened until dark. These longer days are great!11 -

Feel like I'm due for a good loss, so shooting for 1.5 pounds this round. Plus, 181 pounds in Round 181 was too good to pass up! Off to a great start! Just hope it stays down.
03/19: 181.4 lbs (-0.4)
Bit of a surprise. Went out for dinner and drinks last night. Didn't go crazy, but the tortilla chips and guac they got for the table were too tempting! And even shared some Gelato. One meal won't kill me.
03/20: 182 lbs (+0.6)
Maybe that's the Gelato? Dunno. It's OK though.
03/21: 179.8 lbs (-2.2)
Well, did not expect that! The scale flipped back and forth between 180 and 179.8 for a few seconds before it finally settled. That 7 feels weird. I can't believe I'm here.
03/22: 180.4 lbs (+0.6)
I'm sore from ST yesterday and my tongue and lips feel puffy, so think it's water retention. Gonna drink lots of water today.
03/23: 180.2 lbs (-0.2)
Body is teasing me again! Just a few ounces to get below 180. Oh well, it's something! 😄 Still well over my goal for this round so might not be a bad idea to slow down a bit.

I am impressed with your memory! Yes, Mass is our "primary" home. In my past searches, I did come across the dxametrics. Looks really interesting. The challenge is I refuse to drive into Boston. So its either public transport, which should work, or hook my husband into a ride (or rather drive) along. So you did a Dexa there? Did you try any of their other services?
I was super tempted to but I knew my husband would be like why are you spending all that money! I justified the dxa for myself because it was something I've wanted to do for years and at least I would know my bone density afterward. I might splurge quietly ;p at some point on myself and get the one that measures your metabolic rate/calorie burn once I put on more muscle/lose body fat, because I know that's where it can get tricky to figure out your daily calorie burn.
The transit part is tough but I had an appointment at one of the nearby hospitals later that morning so I parked at their garage and walked the 15 minutes to the dxa place and then went to my other appt afterward. The place is near the public gardens/swan pond, so the T should be an easy option and a good way to make a day of it for yourself. I really enjoyed walking through the gardens even if it was snowy, it just felt very serene because there were only a few people around. The appointment was super quick too, I think I was in there for only 15 minutes tops. She went over the results and then emails them to you as well. I'm happy to somehow send you what the results looked like to see if it's information you're interested in getting about yourself.6 -

Day/Weight/Comment
3/18 / 171.6 / Poor sleep due to sickness. Have to get through a workday yet but otherwise just resting up the body. Hope everyone enjoys the weekend ahead!
3/19 / 170.6 / Lots of Netflix and reading here while I try to recover. The sun is out and the weather is beautiful so I'm bummed to be missing a great weekend. This too shall pass. Trying to get my body the time it needs to heal so I can hopefully get over this sooner rather than later.
3/20 / 167.4 / Still sick but that doesn't take away the shine that I reached my ultimate goal weight today that I set in early 2021. This weight represents the first time I've been in my normal BMI range in adulthood. I am so happy.
3/21 / 167.4 / Got through as much of my work day as I could and now it's back to bed for rest.
3/22 / 167.8 / Tested the waters with a very short (less than 1KM) walk. I feel like it'll be a while before I'm back to my regular activities. My husband is sick now too so it will remain a very slow week here.
3/23 / 168 / Another quiet day planned aside from work but I'm hoping to get up to over 1 KM of walking today and I'll see how I do. Salmon on the supper menu... yum!

One of the great values to a group like this (or other great groups) is the observing of daily weight accompanied by hopefully daily tracking. Over time, one can almost predict the cause and effect associated with ones own body. During my WW days, I learned to never have a pasta dinner the night before my weigh in because pasta, even if my day was under on calories, would always cause an uptick the next day......for ME (and also my husband). Menstrual cycles were also great at causing havoc on the scale. But again, from my WW days (I was also staff for 12 years), I saw how differently different bodies react to the same scenario. Soooo, weighing and tracking daily is fantastic for learning about YOU and how your body works. You are well on your way!6 -

We now live in Andover when in Massachusetts. That was part of my derailment last year. I was in a great focused place. DH and I decided to look into downsizing in 5 years and next thing you know, we have bought a townhouse but had not started the selling process of selling our family home (which was not at all fun despite the claims of perfect market). Just as that was winding down, my father's hip broke mid stride, and that has been continual mess. It should not have derailed me, but that is my personality. But seem to finally be somewhat back on track. Yay!

3/23 - 152.7 - I have no idea what's going on. I barely ate yesterday and I threw up a couple times because of a stomach bug going around and yet my weight is up? I stepped on scale twice and it read the same. I am dehydrated but didn't think it'd be so much so that I'd gain without really eating anything. Feel better today. Just had to go grab food from our little shopette because I was nauseous this morning and didn't think to bring breakfast in case. My body is really rebelling against me lately. Goal today: get enough water!!!! I'm a tad behind but not enough I can't catch up.

3/21 - Not near enough water yesterday and I ended up waking up a few times last night to chug water so I'm not sure how accurate this weigh in is. This weekend was busy. Friday I spent running errands and trying to spend time with the kids. Saturday I had to drive them back to meet their mom in Oklahoma which took the entire day for that round trip. Now back to commuting. I do have an interview on Friday, though! Not going to get hopes up too much, but it's a start!
3/22 - BigBro totaled my Toyota yesterday. He's okay. Sore, has a concussion. BF may take him to hospital today if it's still bad enough. Stress is through the roof and I've debated calling in sick so I can sleep. At this point, I might as well be sick because I feel so awful.

Note: I figured out I have access to MFP on my work computer (yay its not blocked!) so it'll be easier for me to check in and catch up on posts during breaks than trying to squeeze it in the mornings. Hopefully being more involved here again will help me get back on track. Pretty sure only posting but not really getting to interact with you all has had an impact on my weight. Stress, too, with no good outlet.12 -

Day/Weight/Comment
3/18: 137.3 - Had my shingles shot the day before, but managed to get my workout and walk in despite feeling achy. Very high-end of calories eating, but still within target.
3/19: 137.6 - As I get closer to my goal weight, I have been eating closer to the top end of my calories. I’ll try not going all the way to the top to see if it will finally get me over the line. I have to say that I am enjoying the extra calories though.
3/20: 136.7 - Ate a little bit under calories - not intentionally - but was satiated and full. Normal exercise and sleep. I’ve now lost 35 pounds since when I started back with MFP on Sep 7, 2022 and have 1.7 pounds left to hit goal weight. About a third of my move calories yesterday came from trying on pants in my closet. End up donating a whole bunch, but don’t yet have the confidence to donate ALL my pants that are too big. One big win is that I fit into a pair of jeans that my daughter left behind in her room, and she’s never been above a size 6 in her entire life.
3/21: 136.9 - Good workouts yesterday along with good eating. I cooked up a couple of dishes over the weekend that should last a couple of days. It makes it easier to calorie count when I can just click on a couple of the “recent foods” boxes to log meals.
3/22: 136.9 - Ate to the very tippy top of my range. Normal workouts and sleep.
3/23: 137.3 - Normal workouts and normal eating and sleep.

3/18 ~ 193.8 -16,000 and 113. SO is away for the week so these 10 days should go well with exercise better eating and meal planning. I've added my step goals. I am not physically ready to hit that but my brain is telling me its soon. Maybe after another 10 lbs.
3/19 ~ 193.1 - 18,200 and 127. It’s a slow start to the day. It’s the only sunny day this week and I don’t know how to spend it, but it will include coffee and a walk. Hope you all have sunny days today. ☀️
3/20 ~ 192 - 37,000 and 274. Big walk and a long hot bath after. Probably a dehydrated weight this morning. Probably be a low key day today.
3/21 ~ 192.2 - 19,000 and 92. Spent the day shopping and a small walk. SO is headed back home early so will see how the meals go. Super excited that Spring is here although rain is in the forecast for days!!
3/22 ~ 192.5 - 10,600 and 62. Was tired yesterday and forgot my chicken and salad dressing in my lunch. I can do dry salad but I added lots of kale to this one, kale really needs dressing!! Found a protein bar in my desk so I did have calories. SO made it home and too was very tired from his long drive. Ok Tuesday... I got this!! Have a wonderful day all.
3/23 ~ 192.2 - 16,700 and 108 mins. Walked home from work. Still a little tired but it may be this drizzly weather. Still have kale in my salad but remembered my dressing!! Happy Hump Day!!

There’s a place in Boston that does dexa scans (dxametrics) and it’s like $100 (if I remember from previous posts, you’re in the Boston “area” most of the year right?). It’s right in the back bay, so it would be fun to do and then spend the day wandering around shopping and what not. I did mine in the winter so it was a little less fun lol. Now the gym I go to has a pretty darn accurate scale/machine thing I use every couple of weeks to track my progress.
I'm happy to somehow send you what the results looked like to see if it's information you're interested in getting about yourself.
I'm interested in anything you are willing to share. Sending you a friend request and I can message you email. (hubby would say I am nuts to put out email in an open forum)
Yay!
Haha, sounds good! I got it and will send you the documents once I combine them into one document for you.5
