I am back after quite a bit of time away. My last weigh in was at the end of May last year. I have put on about 18 of the 36 pounds I lost. I have continued to exercise so that is good. At least I stopped my weight gain before I put it ALL back on. Oh well- I know what to do.

@1poundatax - good for you coming back with 18 lbs still gone! And keeping up with some of your positive healthy habits. You can do this - you have already demonstrated that, just have to keep your head in the game, (the game of life lol).
@swim_mom2 - 👍 nice going getting down to 150!! You have really set a good pace and been very diligent, very inspiring 👏 👏1 -

Thank you. I think the whoosh was because I didn't lose anything in March. Now April there seems to be a change. Today another NEW LOW! 148.6 lbs!!!5 -

Hi, 71-year-old here. I am down to my desired weight of 130 and hope to keep it off! Worked for
three months to take me back down from 154. My labs were bad and had to change diets to help. I don't want to fall back because as you get older, it is really harder to do. Metabolism decreases, mind decreases and plays tricks on you. LOL. I get labs soon to see how i'm doing.
Hope to get some long-term support here.

Welcome and great work @twinkle2356 to get back down to your goal weight - 8 lbs a month is not slow at all, regardless of age! Especially when you get close to goal weight.
Do let us know how your blood work turns out.
How are the rest of our "seasoned" citizens doing?
I am enjoying the signs of Spring as they unfold (finally! Late year these parts). Tomorrow I am beginning setup of a new raised garden bed, not sure how far I'll get but supposed to be sunny so will make a start at any rate.
Keep on keepin' on folks!5 -
I hear you. Feel free to add me as a friend on here. BTW, I'm 63.1

Thanks, BC, for the encouragement. I will be back when tests are in which is the end of the month. I lost 11 lbs. over 3 months tho. Am attempting to level off now.1

I hope your results are good. I’m in a similar boat. The difference is that I have a lot of weight to lose, but am 70 years old, and will get lab results in the next few days. Recently, I was shaken into reality with bad blood test results. It has sure fired up my motivation to lose weight. Good luck, and congratulations on your weight loss.5 -
No time like the present! Today I am lighter and healthier than I was last year, and I know what to do, FOR LIFE - we can be successful at managing our weight, whatever that success looks like for our goals and circumstances, as long as we don't quit.
NEVER SURRENDER! YOU CAN DO IT!!4 -
So good to see lots of posts recently on this thread, both new folks and those that are achieving great successes at all stages of the way!
I've been going through a bit of a psychological ditch lately, nothing big, just kind of late-Winter moody and unambitious . . . your posts are really heartening and inspiring.
Thank you for the mood boost!8 -

My test results are scary. I have a blood clot that must be removed. I’m sure Being obese caused it. Don’t wait until it’s too late to lose weight and get healthy. Hopefully, it’s not too late for me.9

Thinking of you, Mel. So happy they found it so you can have surgery.2

I have been experiencing some lingering minor back issues since I hit a deer in my pickup. I finally went for a physio therapist appointment yesterday and explained to him how disappointed I am because I've lived this long (I'm 62) without back problems and I'm now worried that this will be a slippery slope to my inevitable physical decline. His words to me: "If you came in here and were overweight and inactive I would worry too. But that's not you and we can do lots to fix this". If he had seen me 9 years ago, before I lost 90 pounds and when I considered that walking on a treadmill for 20 minutes, 3 times a week was plenty sufficient, he probably would be thinking differently!
So just a reminder, this is way bigger than working out and eating well to look good. This is also about being healthy so that if we run into some unexpected challenges, we have a better chance of working our way through them. My weight is a constant battle, but I'm active every single day. And apparently that's like putting money in the bank to draw upon when needed.
