What worked for you today?

Having a salad with protein for lunch helps to balance the whole day's calories.6
-
What worked for me yesterday was recognizing that I was hungry and to eat a small snack between lunch and dinner instead of waiting until I was famished and eating too much at dinner.11
-
Accepting that I'm not as hungry in hot weather and adjusting my menu and planning light nibbles and lots of cold drinks.8
-
What worked for me was logging everything to keep up my streak even though eating right wasn't my focus today.8

@kind_woman, I have one of those, too! It's really motivating, isn't it?1 -
What worked for me today was confronting a friend who really hurt my feelings yesterday. Normally I don't say anything. I just try to let it go, but I was still upset today from it. So I took a chance and told her how I felt. I didn't expect an apology. At best I hoped she'd think about it and avoid hurting me again in the future. Instead, I got a FULL APOLOGY that was obviously sincere, and I feel 1000% better all the way around. Finding the courage to have hard conversations like that feels SO much better than eating my feelings and pretending things don't bother me. Even if she hadn't been so nice, I was immediately glad I'd spoken up for myself. I'm worth standing up for regardless of the other person's response. And, if I hadn't, I would have gone on feeliing hurt instead of having my friend be totally wonderful about the whole thing. Yay!!25

I just got one too, I love it! Such a great motivator.4 -
having the pieces of a meal prepped, so I can still build a healthy dinner when the plan falls through.10

What worked for me today was having a light breakfast and then having a nice homemade grilled chicken Caesar Salad for lunch. Then I made homemade Johnny marzetti for dinner. I am trying to balance my food groups and finding planning ahead and balancing my food groups keeps me full and satisfied. Greatest news is I am nearly 500 calories below what my daily allowance is for the day.9

Wow, well done you. I have trouble standing up for myself so to read this is really inspiring and I am so pleased that your friend apologised to you.7 -
What worked for me today was getting my water intake back up to 2 litres+ which saw off any cravings and my skin will thank me for it and intend to keep this going again.8

Today I wanted a cold shake/ice cream or something.. I usually do. But I kept telling myself I had a good reason. I am fighting double ear infections in both ears, my throat is raw from post nasal drip and everything cold is o so good. I didn't stop. I drove home had cold unsweet applesauce and then made a cold slushy coffee/almond milk to drink up. I was satisfied. I didn't need the calorie laden treat. Just the texture and cold satisfied my need. I am trying to think more that way. What can I do to meet my seeming "need" in a healthier way.10

Drank my 2 litres of water again, it really does make a difference and logged all my food first thing this morning instead of logging it as the day goes by, it was easier not to deviate then and eat more than I should do because I had it in my head that this is what I have for today and that's it - no wander to the shop for chocolate etc!!
Went for a 5km walk, half uphill and half downhill which got my heart rate up and got those endorphins going which made me feel great and more determined to stick to my calorie allowance for today ๐7 -
Went swimming last night. Well, more like flail around in the water talking to my daughter for an hour. Came home exhausted and slept like a rock! Today i am all loose and walking fast and feeling good! Have to remember to switch things up, and also how much I love going for a "swim."13

Having a great night's sleep. First one in a while. Back to exercising is obviously helping and it really set me up for the day ๐8
-
Logging and doing food prep, allowing myself that treat is ok just not all the time!
Surprising how many carbs you can eat in just a few crackers or chips before a meal!7 -
Exercising first thing and getting those endorphins going which set me up for a positive day ๐9

Discovering the toys I loved as a kid is also a nice workout. Pulled out a jump rope, hoola hoop, and Hippity Hop last night. Ready to go home and play again!! Hey...maybe if I start referring to it as playing and not a workout I might get more time in!9

What worked for me is realizing how important it is for me to have the ability to personalize my weight loss experience.7

Today my husband and I spent the day in the ER, do to my husband having an eye injury. He is fine now, but for two days we have been seeking answers and healing. Meanwhile, we sat and waited for roughly 9-10 hours in the last 2 days. During that time we didn't eat. At least today I took my water bottle. I am having a hard time cramming 1200 calories in the few hours left in the day. Somehow food in vending machines just doesn't look like food to me anymore.6

Absolutely love this post. I hope you enjoy many hours of playing ๐4 -

I couldn't agree more. We are all so very different and need to do things that suit us personally ๐3 -
Allowing myself to have one piece of pizza and a large side salad. BTW, anyone here know how to evenly cut a pizza into 10ths? I'm only good with 8ths. Had to figure out the calculations for 1/8 of the pizza.
hahahahaha relatable....My husband likes a DiGiorno square thin crust...and sometimes when I think I want a piece I look at the box for serving size and calories ...square pizza calories are per 1/5th of a pie --why not 1/4????6 -
Having fresh fruit for a snack instead of chips or crackers.5
-
Being able to have a guilt free gin and tonic or 2 with all the exercise calories that I banked during the week. Weight loss doesn't have to mean not having a little of bit of what you fancy ๐4
-
having only healthy(ish) food around--and also learning better coping skills! last night I was really feeling it, trying to binge--so I had a second grilled chicken sandwich, ate the last "GoodPop" orange cream popsicle, ate some dark chocolate--and then took myself out for a walk before I could dig further. It was a good long walk, and by the time I got back I was feeling better AND my exercise calories covered my attempted binge.10

What worked for me was cooking with less oil. Those calories quickly add up. Saved about 400-600 calories everyday.7
-
What worked for me yesterday and today is doing my yoga first thing whether I feel like it or not. Hit go on the coffee maker, yoga, BowFlex, coffee/exercise bike time.
Iโm a creature of habit so making healthy habits works for me.5
