Here we are on a new calendar page ready to make a fresh start on some new plans and ready to continue some paths that have been working.
This journey to better health has been best for me in the company of supportive women.

Thank you barbie
Well, I think Vince and I have calmed down regarding Denise and Jess. Today is Denise's birthday and right after I texted her, she called. We were going to call her later. Anyway, she wanted to know why we were leaving early. Deep down inside, I think she was sad that we were leaving early. She made mention of the fact that we would take PJ swimming and she'd just stay home and do nothing (which is fine, she deserves it). Vince was evasive as to why we had to come home. He just told her that we had a meeting, nothing she needs to worry about. I've talked to him explaining that we're just punishing PJ and ourselves. Denise isn't going to change. She likes being the center of attention. That's probably the real reason she didn't go to Jess' graduation. Jess would have been the center of attention, not Denise. Being at PJ's birthday party she could, in essence, say "look what I did".

Michele At one point in time (almost always) my daughters were fighting big time just before Thanksgiving. I told them that I wasn't getting involved as they are both adults. I also told them that they could suck it up and be adults at our house for Thanksgiving or not come. I wasn't making different arrangements. They both came, avoided each other, and we had a good time. They are still like oil and vinegar. Sometimes to great together. Other times so far apart i just shake my head. They are in different places in life with different needs. Just let them figure it out, and you do what you feel like doing.
Was crazy busy at work. I am so far behind by not doing work work this weekend. .....
My husband did a thing....he bought a car hauler trailer. If it is ready on Thursday we are driving to SW Indiana to pick it up. I believe we are driving most of the way tomorrow night, spending the morning in Nashville, IN, then will pick up trailer and drive home. It is about 3 1/2 hours away. I will know more tomorrow.😉
Lanette I am happy for all the support you have! Your attitude is amazing. Hugs continue.

Kelly - I hope you get better fast.
I found when I was done working in my previous industry, as the stress was leaving I seemed sick for two months. I didn’t know I was carrying that much.
Ginny - hope you get some answers and a solid treatment plan soon.
Michele - I would be worried about what Machka said too. If Vince doesn’t want to stay, why don’t you stay on your own?
Lanette - How thankful you must be to have support of friends.
Lisa - I painted the inside of the closets for the same reason. It was so dark.
Flea - I hope you all have mild symptoms for those of you that test positive.
Carla - I am surprised that they would want to jam people in again. A lot of offices here are staying with work from home, if not full time at least a hybrid.
Vicki - congrats on the loss.
Viv - I hope your Mother gets her brace soon.
It sounds like a beautiful walk.
Heather - I hope your friend is ok. It is worrisome waiting to hear.
Barbie - thank you so much for another month. I so appreciate all of you ladies.
I had an eye exam after work tonight and for the first time that I can remember I didn’t need a new prescription. I told him my eyes have been tired lately and he had his staff adjust the frames. They were bent and because of all of the masks over the last 2 years they had loosened. I think they will feel better in a day or two.
I went to the dollar store to buy a little 2lb dumbbell for my tennis elbow exercises. I got up to the register with an armful of things and they tell me it’s cash only, their machines were down. I ended up walking across 3 parking lots to an ABM to get cash and then walking back. It was nice to get the walk in.
I think I’m going to head to bed early. I am very tired tonight.

Thank you, Barbie. You keep us going.
I am ready for more warm weather. It was 75 here today. Just lovely.
ETA: Hooray! My PCR test was negative. I don't know how many times I'm going to be able to dodge this bullet, but I'll take it.

Good morning! The sun is shining, no wind - that means a nice, slow, 5k shuffle along the seafront.
Sending peaceful thoughts to all those struggling with grief or illness.
Thank you Barbie, for your steadfast care of us.
I hope to be in contact with my friend L today. It's bothering me. I don't want to be a nuisance, if she just wants space after her visitors/helpers. But I know that pain and depression can lead you to cut off contact.
I will buy some salad stuff on my way home this morning and have to think about posting a birthday card for my son. They get back on Friday, his birthday. I did ask him what he wanted, but had no response, so I've ordered truffle oil, which is arriving today and some 'smoked' (!!!!) olive oil, which arrives on Monday. He's a gourmet cook. We are all getting together for a 'birthday brunch' on Sunday, at a new brunch restaurant. Can't wait to see them all!

Allie - Happy birthday early!
Tracey - Love the rocks--not exactly my style, but love the fact that they glow in the dark...
Heather - Truer words were never said: "But I know that pain and depression can lead you to cut off contact." Your instincts are good, I hope you can get in touch with your friend soon.
My goals and results for May were:
X - Be lighter: Nope - I was 175.1 on May 1, and I'm 176.7 this morning.
✅ Be healthier: Big win on this one, I feel better, much more stamina, just more like me. Getting there.
X - Stick to the budget: Between buying Corey's plane tickets for his family reunion next month and an unexpected root canal for me, the budget was the first casualty for May.
So not so successful in some ways, but was successful at the one that counts most. In all honesty, I've never understood the saying, "Well, at least you've got your health," but I do now. Without it, every day is hard...
My word for the year is "recover." Being patient with my recovery is harder than I thought it would be, but is nonetheless paramount. My goals for June remain the same, but arranged in order of priority now:
- Be healthier
- Be lighter
- Stick to the budget
Will probably drop in later - love y'all!
