Worked, got dinner ready, then will go in the pool, later I’ll probably go to Aldi since Vince needs tomatoes

Tracey – I guess we shall find out how long it will take them to find an alternate location for ceramics. Might not even be that long since they’re looking for a place right now. Who knows what the future will bring? Lovely butterflys. How did you make the dots? A bit of paint on the tip of the brush? I made Smurfette’s polka dots by putting a bit of paint on the end of a paint brush

Barbara – I can handle the heat but not the humidity. When we moved from PA to NC, one day we were putting things in storage and it was 102 degrees. I thought “oh, we’re going to die”. But honestly it wasn’t bad because there wasn’t the humidity

M – we have no idea where Vince’s family came from. They’ve been in the US since the Civil War (at least). I can tell you that he’s related to Abraham Lincoln. Maybe you can find my mother’s father? I wanted to find out what happened to him for my aunt’s birthday, but try as I might, I couldn’t find any information about him. I could tell you when he came to America, who sponsored him, where he stayed, but after a certain point there is no mention of him. What we THINK happened (remember, this was probably 100 years ago, literally) is that it was payday, someone stole his paycheck and threw him into an open mine. Since Vince has the concealed carry permit, he had to give a fair amount of information, so it’s not surprising that there’s quite a bit of information about us out on the internet. When I got my CPAP I was supposed to connect to the internet, only Vince has our network hidden. Believe it or not, there wasn’t a way to input the network IP number. So he had to make it visible, connect, then make it invisible again.

Lisa – oh no! Does this mean no ice cream or frozen food (not defrosted)?

Anne DE – a hotel with an indoor swimming pool would probably be a good hit for the kids.

Lanette – yes, you’re so right. The ceramics place was “hush, hush” only because they don’t want to start a panic. Like I said, it’ll come out – just not from me. You know something, I have a neighbor who is REALLY into security. Yet, she’ll post a picture on Facebook about how she’s in Florida (or wherever), not that she’s BEEN there. I just find that interesting.

Katla dear – my heart goes out to you. Thank goodness your children are there for you.

Sun is finally shining, if rain doesn't show up, I might get to to hop on the mower today and show the zillion dandelions who is the BOSS!!

All we have is sun here. Please send some rain our way. 😀. I just finished mowing the sprigleys (blue stem grass) down. I feel much better when my pasture is spriggley free. My hubs thinks I’m nuts! He figures if the lawn part is mowed it’s all good. He is wrong! So I mow and do both.

Okie, I would GLADLY send you rain! I think the Pacific Northwest has had one of the coolest and wettest spring/early summer weather on record. Maybe it's making up for the baking "heat domes" we had last year. We're supposed to see the mid-80's early next week and I'm practicing my "it's too hot!" complaining, lol.

Zoomed this pm with my girlfriends. One was late to the party, but we all connected.

Just before, my friend L rang up, a bit upset. I didn't have time to talk, but another of her friends was trying to get through, so I left it. Will catch up soon.

Reading a fascinating book, Left on Tenth Street by Delia Ephron. Memoir of a late love and blood cancer.

I have a lot more energy today. I've done nothing, except a few stretches, but hope for a good day tomorrow.

Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

DH had a heart attack and spent several days in the hospital. Yesterday he was transferred to a skilled nursing facility in a town twenty plus miles from here. I expect to visit him every day until he can come home.

Our daughter and son are here with me. They are each squeezing in time to be here and I am grateful they are with me.

    Katla

    So sorry Katla.

I'm glad you have the support of your family there.

I am turning 50 in a few weeks. I was using the Noom App and lost 14 lbs the first 3 months, then used it another 3 months and just maintained. So I discontinued the membership as it costs money. I would like to lost 5 to 10 more lbs. I bought a dress for my daughter's wedding August 27. I cannot gain any weight or it's not going to fit me. It fits now but felt a little snug around the stomach. It's at the seamstress right now getting hemmed. I don't have time to find another dress and don't like any other ones I've found. That is not the reason I joined noom. I had gained weight and felt like I was busting out of all my clothes. I wanted to feel healthier and not so uncomfortable. So I do feel better than I did.

Today I found out that using Garlic Hummus instead of Mayo on my sandwich tasted very good and saved me 70 Calories. I think I will stick with that. I eat turkey and provolone on one slice of 12-Grain Bread like almost every day. I did not like it without the mayo. But the hummus was very good.

How do you comment on people's posts? You just have to mention them in your post?
There was a beautiful baby I saw in someone's post, and nice 4th of July pics in someone elses.

You can mention them or use the quote button at the bottom of their post.

    Hi Gals,
This is my last post about internet security…. I promise to not bring it up again…

When friends care about each other and one has knowledge that others do not have they share… For example Debbie and I are both avid veggie growers and would share info with you; Machka and I both have some knowledge on internet security and choose to share.

The sharing of gardening info and internet security info is similar you may choose to use the info, choose to ignore the info, choose to care about some but not all. But the reason for sharing is the same we care about you and had some knowledge to share.

I do share certain things here, but there is plenty I do not. There are pre-posts I write in word and then delete instead of posting as I know it is more info than I want out in the world. I crop lots of pictures to make sure they are what I want to share.

What started this was the moving of a business, well it might not matter to the participants, but a local competitor might be able to use this info to undermine the existing business, someone with the “right location” might raise the price. Vacation plans tell me when not to drop in for a cup of tea with Michele but the tell a criminal when TO drop in.

    Sending love to all.

I could explain more about how forums work ... how what we type goes into a database ... how what we see here is just a facade ... but apparently talking about computers and that sort of thing is not welcome.
