Treadmill Run to wrap up the month. Ended up just shy of my goal. Ran a trail in Slovenia along a beautiful river with huge cliff walls and blue clear water. I really liked that run.6 -
@marisap2010 Sorry to hear your friend may be backing out of wineglass. You're doing great getting yourself prepped.0

Awesome run this morning @Teresa502 . Love the new shoes. Congrats on meeting your stretch goal! I hope you enjoy the backpacking class.
@marisap2010 Great improvement in your 10 mile time! I love it. Sorry your friend probably won't join you in your race. I know that is disappointing. I hear you on the short jog. LOL When I think I am going to be close, I check my mileage before I go out for the last session of the month to see what I "need" to do. LOL
Thanks a lot @katharmonic ! You did great this month also!
Crazy amount of miles once again @AlphaHowls . Love that quote.
Sounds like a lovely run @martaindale . You had a great total for the month, even if you didn't meet your goal.
I did a 1.1 mile walk on the treadmill after church and before heading out for my great niece's birthday party. That brought my total for July to 59.0 miles (Don't look back to my previous post and add. Apparently, I posted the wrong number last night.) I was actually closer than I thought I would be. Eleven miles short of goal isn't horrible. Had I not had extra things thrown into a few of my days, preventing a run, I would have made it. I'm okay with 59. See you in August. I'll try to figure up my goal tomorrow morning.

116.22/110 miles completed for July
I didn't post yesterday, but I did run a mile for the streak. Today I didn't get up as early as I needed to so I just ran 8 miles. It's just been so hot. But I did finish out the month with 116 miles so I did reach my goal.
Yesterday I went to see my mom. Her insurance wouldn't approve the rehab hospital so she had to go to a skilled nursing facility with rehab. Luckily my sister found one on the list that allows 24/7 visitors and she has been able to stay with her. Hopefully after a week they will move her to a rehab hospital or even to my sister's house with home health coming for rehab. She does seem to be doing well. It has just been really stressful and she is just really disappointed that she broke her hip.
Today's run was ok. It was just hot and since I knew I would hit my goal I cut it short. I guess 8 miles is long enough to be a "long run". 😊 Hopefully next month won't be as stressful as this month was. Thanks for setting us up @Martindale. See you all over in the August thread.

@kgirlhart Sorry to hear your mom had to settle for a skilled nursing facility. It is good your sister is available to be with her regularly. BTW, 8 miles definitely counts as a long run. I think a long run is largely decided by how it stacks up relative to what you do during the week.2

@kgirlhart I'm glad your mom seems to be doing okay and I hate it when I hear that insurance is making decisions that doctor's should be making. Glad you found a facility that allows someone to stay with her all the time. That has to make it a little bit better on her and you, even though I know it is hard on your sister. You know you are a long distance running when you use the work "just" to describe an 8 mile run! You are doing great.

@AlphaHowls - great running once again! How are you coming on the run around the earth miles? I will be adding that quote to my 'quote collection'. I think it is awesome!
@marisap2010 - I hope your friend decides to go to Wineglass even if just to cheer you on!I didn't post yesterday, but I did run a mile for the streak. Today I didn't get up as early as I needed to so I just ran 8 miles. It's just been so hot. But I did finish out the month with 116 miles so I did reach my goal.
I hate our medical system that would deny your mom proper rehab for her hip. They wonder why people often don't thrive after injuries like that when they are otherwise healthy and should. Thankfully she has you all to be there for her and help her navigate and get taken care of properly.
On to August!
