Hello! I’m Nancy, from PA, long time MFP member but most of my friends are now inactive. Motivation has been my biggest struggle lately and I’ve regained what I had lost and then some. I was looking at the challenge board hoping to find one to help with motivation. 15 lbs in 3 months seems like a realistic, achievable goal, so I’d like to do this!

I am back again to lose those last pesky pounds. I went to my future DIL's bridal shower this weekend and destroyed that downward trend I had going. I just had my dress for the wedding fitted before I left so need to make sure I don't gain any weight for the next month. Thank you for setting this up! I am having such a difficult time with consistency. Over the past 4 years, I have gained 20 pounds. We moved to a different state and have such busy work schedules, that I keep falling back to eating junk and gaining weight

I am a 5'4" 60 year old retiree living in upstate NY. Started back up using MFP on January 3rd and have lost 41.4 lbs to date.

I have truly enjoyed participating as I feel no pressure or judgement, yet these challenges really seem to help keep me motivated.

Welcome everyone! Nice to see things are hopping on this thread.
My goals for this challenge:
1. Journal daily- three things I'm grateful for and also reflect on how I feel
2. Walk every single day- get 10,000 steps
3. Meditate 5 minutes in the morning
4. Choose low carb whenever possible - my body just doesn't do well with carby food
5. Avoid alcohol calories- drink tea8 -

Hi I am back and more or less ready to switch to maintaining, but a bit worried that adding additional calories back in will lead to weight gain so I am sticking with you all for another round though without a major weight loss goal, just accountability.

UGW-122 lbs. I was there in 2009/10 and kept it off for 5 years then got lazy.
My goal is to continue with what seems to work for me. 1000-1200 calories, low carb 15 Net +/- 3(My body seems to not do well with carbs. It doesn't know how to burn them and hangs onto them way too much!), minimum 70 + oz of water, 2 meals/day on my days off(3) and 3 meals on my work days(which are long), exercise on my 3 days off. My weigh in day is Sunday.

8/7/22- 167.2 lbs Still been doing my Elliptical on my off days. I may have broke it Friday. Got stiff and couldn't move it. 2 of my sons cleaned and oiled it. Worked ok today for my first 2 hours then screeched and got stiff then eased up for my third hour then got stiff again and I stopped even though I still had 30 minutes left in the movie I was watching. THIRTEEN LIVES about the Thai soccer team cave rescue in 2018. Very good and kept my elliptical pace up even though I knew the outcome as I followed it on the news then. Its on Amazon Prime. Done by Ron Howard. I recommend it and it received 5 out of 5 stars.
I found a local Fitness Equipment Repair company(if they are still in business) to call tomorrow to see if they can fix my Elliptical. A comparable one to mine is now $1200-1600. I'm thinking it's the bearings, bushings or something. It's only used by me. Bought it in 2010, I think $600-800 then. It's only been really used regularly the last year, 3x/week. I know I've put 2000+ miles on it since 1/3/22. That's a conservative estimate as I found out 2 months ago that my I Phone only captures half of my Elliptical or daily steps. I've since added the extra mileage. I started Charity Miles 1/3 and they say I've done almost 2000 miles.

Not looking forward to weigh-in tomorrow. I was doing really well and was down 2Lbs earlier this week but I'm sure I gained it and more back. My problem is bread...anything bread like. As soon as I put bread in my mouth I gain weight.
Going to have to get strict with my diet and cut out breads and see what happens.

Same thing happens to me, but it's any carbs(Bread is the worst). If I go over approximately net 30 carbs daily. Even if it's good low carb veggies. :-( My body seems to hold onto them. Even if it's a cardio workout day. My body doesn't seem to burn them. It could also be water weight that comes with the carbs. I read somewhere and my sons agree, with every gram of carb 4 grams of water retains with it.4 -
