The article mentions procrastination ... I've come to the conclusion that when I'm procrastinating, I need a break. I need to take a day or two and do to do something completely different. Then I'm usually ready to get back at whatever it is again.

Machka, Regardless of which page I am on, if I place a marker it will be posted as the very last item in the thread, so I will miss some posts if I'm not caught up. If I just quit reading without placing a marker, and don't scroll to the next page, when I log back on, it takes me to the page where I stopped reading. At least that's been my experience.

Yes ... that's my experience too. That's why I don't understand the marker idea.

It's a post.
Each comment here, whether it is words or a picture or a smilie/emoji or whatever, is a post in this thread.
And no matter where you post it from within this thread (page 2, page 14, page 26, page 31, page 32, etc.), it will appear at the very end of the thread.
That is, unless a couple people happen to post at the same time. Then yours might be second last in the thread.

No walking today- really wanted to but it was too hot and when it cooled down, dh was home and wanted me to listen to him again-(so hard to not say I don't want to hear it) If I dont agree with him he gets mad at me.
Tomorrow I will walk with my zumba friends around the wetlands for at least an hour.
May walk MIL's dog but most likely not- she said she doesn't want either of us there, she doesn't need our help(but wants social worker to come and help her-)
I will wait and see how she is tomorrow-
Tomorrow is the daycare girls first day of school so I will pick her up at 12:30.
Hope you all have a wonderful day/night

It is good to get away and take a walk to clear your mind. Even better to have friends to walk with. Enjoy beautiful Napa. I used to live there many moons back . Grew up fishing at Lake Berryessa. Beautiful! Have a great Wednesday!1 -
Thanks to whoever mentioned Get Fit with Rick.
Had a look on you tube and found him, I've never heard of him before, anyway I've joined a 7 day challenge. It's mainly a walking challenge, but I think anything that can get me moving is a good thing right.
Just finished Day 1 workout a walky dancy routine but it gave me 2,000+ steps and it wasn't too difficult, no getting down on the floor (It's the getting up that's the problem!)
Back to logging my food, but I'm trying not to put pressure on myself, if I miss a day it is what it is. I am hoping it will help me make better choices, as Michele said if you eat 3 bananas you have eaten 300 cals, so everything in moderation (especially the biscuits!)
Must dash getting ready to see friends for a coffee. It is fine at the moment, but has rained all night, can't complain we certainly needed it. Still a drought on. I wonder if they would like to go for a walk instead?
Take care and love to all

Get fit with Rick is awesome. He offers a much needed break from all of the cardio i've been doing. Not to mention it is a fun and engaging workout. Have a happy Wednesday!1 -
Oh man, Lori, welcome! Our Chug is diabetic too! Apparently it's a pretty normal thing for Chihuahuas, we found out AFTER we rescued him. He doesn't seem to mind the vestulin. (unless it's a day when WE screw up and pinch him) Of course, he gets his little dab of peanut butter at the same time so I think that helps. LOL.
I don't understand the marker thing either. I just try to read everything, every day and comment when I can. Sometimes it's a , sometimes it's a book! Today it's in between. Nothing much going on.

Well, went to the last Rummikub that I HAVE to be at. I met the gal who is going to take it over and it seems that if she can’t find anyone to host, then she’ll have it at her house. Really, I wouldn’t want to have it at my house every month, but it’s up to her.
Welcome Lori. Do you have to give Jax insulin? We had a cat who was diabetic. Really, when it was time for his insulin he, literally, would come to us as if to say “it’s time”. I do think he associated the insulin with feeling better. Now Jessica’s cat who was diabetic! That was another story. He wanted nothing to do with the insulin. Giving it to him was a real hassle.
Anne DE – I know our vet has a month when it’s “Dental Month” and you get the dental work for a certain percentage off. You might ask your vet if they have something like that. As I recall, the month seemed to be February, but don’t quote me on that.
Talked to the vp of Newcomers. Seems that the first month after Vince helped the treasurer, her reports were more what they wanted. Unfortunately, it hasn’t continued. Of course, we don’t want to hurt her by Vince jumping in and doing the job. Wish she’d ask for help. Oh well…..
Michele NC0 -
Worked. Vince is feeling “achey” so he’s not going to bowling. Honestly, you’d think HE was the one who didn’t like this league. This is the last time I go. Yeaaaa
kamaphia – almost all my clothes come from a thrift store. That is, except pants because I need a petite size and they very rarely have petites. Hope Beau is better. Could it be arthritis? Hope your son gets better fast
I admit that I did binge yesterday just thinking how great it will be not to HAVE to go to Rummikub.
Ceramics tonight. If Vince doesn’t go, I will. They’re closed next week because the gal who runs it is going on vacation

DH & I are currently in an apartment in an assistant living facility in Illinois. We are here while DH recovers from surgery following a heart attack. We are in Illinois because of our daughter’s efforts to help. We have a home and good friends in Oregon, and they are keeping watch on our home there.
Hi Katla! how are you doing mentally and physically? What are you doing to stay busy? Any fun stuff? Glad to see you post!

Had a nice chat with my friend A yesterday. Good venting session!
My left ear through both upper and lower jaw on left hurts. On antibiotics for now and see ENT Friday about the 2 holes in my ear drum. Not sleeping well because of this.
Construction here too with cement trucks and small dozers driving by my camper early morning. It will be nice when finished and I really hope it gets finished soon!
Well, my Misfits order in in. I have to pick it up at visitor station. Can’t wait! I really like getting the organic veggies delivered once a week.
Laters ladies!

Back from dentist. Had to feed all the critters early this morning so I could get there on time. Just a cleaning, have to go for crown next month. DD's friend is still here, she leaves early tomorrow morning. She has to be at the airport by 4:30 am. We have a new neighbor to the east of us and they have invited everyone in the neighborhood to a party next Saturday afternoon. Could be fun.

I've been playing in the kitchen today...made more of a mess than anything 😂 🤣
Sometimes I just want to be able to throw something together, like in a tortilla wrap, but one that will fall nicely into my low-carb (90% most of the time) lifestyle. Most store bought flour tortillas are NOT low carb...per say, as they don't offer up much in the way of fiber (which can be deducted from the total carb count because it's not digested)
However, a while back I found these Guerrero Nutri-Ricas Carb Watch tortillas at Sam's Club.
Huge game changer!! they fit very well into my low-carb lifestyle and I've been making all sorts of delicious, quick & easy 'wraps' out of them.
They are a little more expensive than the usual store bought tortillas which got me thinking ...
So this morning I tried my hand at making my own low-carb tortillas out of Almond & Coconut flour..
I'll be honest..it's a bit of a pain in the *kitten* especially as I don't have a tortilla press 😂 🤣 but for the most part they came out good, and tasted okay. The ones I made today are not as pliable as reg. tortillas but ehhhh...
In all honesty I'll probably just continue 'buying' the Guerrero tortillas for the time being...at least the ones at Sam's Club are slightly cheaper, and you actually get 10 tortillas per pack, versus the 8 tortillas per pack that you get from other retailers like Walmart.
If nothing else, at least this weeks' experiment came out edible.
Last week I was experimenting with making low-carb, gluten free crepes using egg whites and coconut flour...I was so excited as they came out just looking beautiful, perfect looking crepes....
......but good GAWD, they were AWFUL!! I spit them out immediately..🤢 🤮 😂 🤣
I also made some coleslaw today. I love putting this on top of my burgers, or as a simple side dish to my meals...super easy to make and delicious. Green cabbage, mayo & apple cider vinegar..throw it all together, add in some salt & pepper to taste and Voila~ coleslaw.
none of that added sugar or sweetness you find in traditional coleslaw.
Some of my creations over this past year have been utter disasters while thankfully, other have been keepers and ones that I bake up often. I just have to keep tweaking away until something works...and then hope I remember what it is I did to make it work. 😂 🤣
I use the same basic Fathead dough ingredients (eggs, almond flour, cheese) as a base to make several of my own baked goodies including 'everything' burger buns, meat, veggie and/or fruit filled empanada's, pizza, taco shells, and even cinnamon rolls. (depending on what I'm actually making from the dough, I tweak my recipe to add in other ingredients like butter, cream, erythritol, and so on..)

exermom -- I suspect that might be what is going on although his last x-rays didn't show any significant deterioration. I just hate to see him so miserable. The vet gave us a few pain pills last visit, so we might just need to get more (or different meds) for him. He's the happy-go-lucky dog (out of our 3), so I'm used to him being a ray of sunshine. Breaks my heart to see him in pain.
1derland99: Those experiments look awesome. My husband would love to experiment with no carb options, but our son has nut allergies, so we try to avoid them in the house as much as possible. It really stinks because I'm a vegetarian and used nuts as protein a lot before he was diagnosed. But, once he heads off to college, we'll be able to start adding some back into our diet during the school year.
Took my son today to the specialist to do a follow-up. Wanted to wait until Friday so it wouldn't impact his band camp, but they highly suggested that he be seen today when I called this morning so I panicked a little. But all is good. No surgery is needed. Just antibiotics and prescription strength ibuprofen/Tylenol regiment. So relieved.
Tonight we are doing a band fundraiser at a local Noodle & Company restaurant. It's going to put me a little over my calories, but I'm not going to worry about it. I can't be perfect all the time anyway. I skipped the one last week at an ice cream shop, but I'm looking forward to some comfort carbs tonight.

Rain! It rained for a few hours this morning, and is misting rain now. I just went outside and turned my face up to the mist. And then when I quit doing that, I remembered that I wear glasses now.
Got dinner in the oven for Corey - at his request, drumsticks oven roasted with barbecue sauce. My house smells amazing. I think I mentioned he's the cook at our house, but when something needs a few hours to cook, he will enlist me as sous-chef. I'm not sure I'm eating at all--still deciding. Lunch was two wedges of corn bread. I had a bag of shredded taco cheese that basically melted into one big lump of cheese, so I hacked that up into small cubes and threw that in the mix. High calorie, but very satisfying, so I'm not hungry at all for dinner. Won't eat a chicken drumstick, or any other piece of chicken with bones and tendons and veins intact. I like my chicken chopped and formed and unidentifiable. I'm a philistine.
Colored my hair back to blonde on Monday, got my hair cut today, so that takes care of all that for three months or so.
Welcome to those of you who are new - don't forget to sign your posts with the name you want to be called and a vague location, so we can keep you straight!
Later, y'all,
Love,

Lisa - our youngest daughter won’t eat any meat that she can see any veining, bones, etc in. I don’t know when she started this because she ate it when she lived at home.

@exermom: I give Jax a small dose of insulin twice a day. I'm still getting used to it. I just adopted Jax ten days ago. He doesn't care for the shots, but he doesn't fight them either.
@minicooper452: I'm glad Chug does well with his vestulin. My daughter gives Jax a treat when he gets his shot. When she goes back to school, I'll have to manage to give him his treat myself. He'll need to wait a few seconds between shot and treat.
Thanks for being such a welcoming group!4 -
Today's exercise: Diddly Squats 😲🤣
yes, I actually 'manually' logged this as my exercise today and I burned 1 calorie doing so too. 🤣🤣
