I spent time with DH at the hospital yesterday. He seems to be improving. Me,too. Our daughter took me to a local health facility. I felt better after treatment.11

Karen: You are doing a great job with/for your brother. I have some parenting regrets as well.
Katla: So happy to hear you saw your DH and that he is improving. Good you went to the local health facility as well!
I love all the pictures! They brighten my day! Will get my DH up in a half hour but enjoying this quiet time reading. About to start shopping on the computer and then will go tomorrow morning to pick the food up. This is a free service if you spend over 35 dollars.6 -
Morning ladies
All this talk about glucosamine and condroitin(sp) and being sedentary .. thats me in a nutshell.. im up with Miles ,but at home i mostly lay down..I know its not good for me but im tired when i get home..
My hips and thighs have been in alot of pain and the pain is waking me up at night..geesh I don't want to really want to take more pills and I will have to see if that would react with any of my prescription meds.. but sounds like it would help alot with the hip and arthritis pain in my thumbs.4 -
M Thanks for the reminder to keep moving. I admired that about my dad. He knew you needed to keep moving. When his age made it more difficult he would still do exercises in bed and would walk their driveway everyday.3

My hips ache if I lie down for more than about 10 hours (which I only do on weekends or when I'm on holiday).
I find I feel better if I stand, walk, and generally move around quite a bit of the day. Like right now, it's late evening and my hips feel great because I've done quite a bit of moving today. They'll be slightly achy when I get up tomorrow, but I'll get moving again and they'll feel all right again.
When I take Rhody out for a walk, after I get home from work, he likes to sit and look at things while I just stand there, so I've started doing things like calf raises and stretches.

I love to get into the pool and do the breaststroke and stretch. I feel much less tight and achey afterwards. But sigh it is difficult to reserve a lane because the pool is so popular.

DH has just made his Christmas cake. He loves it, but I rarely have more than one small slice, so he makes it. I'm afraid I couldn't resist supervising though. It's in the oven now for over 3 hours.
I've blanched the veg for cauliflower and feta frittata. Peas, broad beans, artichoke heart and, of course, cauliflower .
Quite pleased with myself for actually doing some work for my book this morning. I don't usually work on a Sunday, but we have Max tomorrow and I didn't do anything on Friday. I copied from my tablet onto my laptop, via email, and created a new 'rough' file in Word. I think , now I've broken the ice, that I might be able to write straight into the rough file. If not, I'll go back to the tablet, which is the equivalent for me of scribbling in pencil. Much less daunting.
Waitrose delivered after lunch so we should be OK now until the cruise. I will have to shop for my brother's visit, on Wednesday, but there's time. They're not arriving until the evening, so it will be his favourite pork pie and Scotch eggs. Salad. I have to eat earlier for my hypoglycaemia, so cold food is easier.
Just have to make up one other single bed for them and put out towels. They are not fastidious.
Getting close to our cruise now. 🛳
Love you all, Heather UK xxxxxx

So it turns out we are staying home for our entire holiday. We have had an incredible amount of rain in the northern part of the state with even more rain coming this week. There has been all sorts of flooding, roads are still closed and more will likely be closed when the rain starts tomorrow. The police are recommending no non-essential travel at all throughout the state.
But that's OK!

Lanette! If you're on the computer regularly, there's a GREAT extension that you can add to chrome (if you use it) called MOVE IT. There are probably others too. It's geared towards the classroom, so you have to make adjustments for some pretty CUTE options, but the point is that it can be set up to STOP YOU (yes, actually a RED STOP SCREEN) and make you get up and do something else, right then and there. Sometimes it's a really simple "stop and breathe for 1 minute. Then there's hop from one foot to the other 10 times. The ones you have to improvise are things like "do a Mexican wave around the classroom". I actually had to look that one up. It's "the wave" like they do in stadiums. Or "play rock, paper, scissors with 5 other people and keep score". Well, not if I'm working alone! So I do wall push-ups or squats or marches or whatever when those come up. But it's really slick and you can set it for whatever interval you want in in between so you don't sit too long.
I so don't wanna go back to work tomorrow...... oh geez. Wish me luck!

DH is still in the hospital but is gaining improved health. I am looking forward to the two of us enjoying being together in our apartment. ❤️

We're home from our weekly Sunday morning grocery pickup. On the ay we stopped to drop off our ballots. I love that we can vote by mail.
Morning walk was almost entirely in the dark. In a few minutes I'll go on my walk with my Sunday walking friend.

Went to bed at 6 pm, so my pain meds wore off in the middle of the night. I was not happy at about 5 am. I was able to get back to sleep though. I am on day 6 of plumbing not working. I am not happy. Ate prunes, pills and water this morning. My doctor didn't want me to do the Meta Mucil, nor the Mirilax. So maybe just drinking some coffee and see if that does anything. On the good side my ear feels better. My jaw doesn't ache. I had swimmers ear from all my hot baths last week.
Today is a good day for a good day.

I am home and had a chat with DH. He is in the hospital and I was not able to visit in person for a couple if days. Phone conversations and texting are better than nothing, but we both long to be together in our apartment. Keeping my fingers crossed for a personal visit soon and a chance for him to move here with me. I hope he will be able to come here when he is ready to be at home in our apartment.6

Had a wonderful weekend.
Slept pretty good Friday night so when mom's alarm went off about 4 AM, it wasn't terrible(not great but once I got up and had a sip of tea, It wasn't bad)-Food program was busy- a lot more families. I ended up moving so many cases of so much food- back was killing me but got over 5000 by 9am.
Went home and made lunch for mom then took her down to get her prescription because her ear is still bothering her(or again). Made dinner for mom and I- healthy and on her diet for the most part.
This morning I met two friends for coffee. We met the first day of 5th grade- 50 yrs ago- It was so great catching up. One I haven't seen in 22 yrs- the day of our best friend's funeral. We have talked on FB but hadn't seen each other.
Went back to mom's made lunch then packed up and headed home.
The room mate was there but never said on word to me the whole time I was there. That was fine with me.
Had to come back earlier that I really wanted to to take dinner to MIL- after such a great weekend, I didn't really mind.
Now time to have a cup of my cinnamon tea and catch up with all the posts-four pages- a bit of a slow weekend here for you ladies Usually there is a lot more.
Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend
Debbie
I am the one on the left- I think we look pretty good for 60yrs old.7 -
forgot one of the funnest parts of the visit at mom's- she has 5 fluffball kittens- So cute and tiny- fit perfectly in my hand-weigh so little that when one would lay on me, I felt warm but no weight.
So tame for feral barn cats- they ran right to her the first time she found them.
