Annie - I've read every Agatha Raisin book by MC Beaton at least twice. It's almost time to read them a third time, lol. Same with Beaton's Hamish MacBeth series.

THANK YOU MACHKA!!! It was truly wonderful to reflect all month long! I had to put some thought into all of those! And I'm in to do it again. I will try my best to use DIFFERENT answers this month, since some of the questions are the same.
1 What is something that makes you laugh? my grandchildren and my dog!
2 Something about the current season you’re grateful for. giving
3 What about your body do you love/are you grateful for? my hair is incredibly easy to take care of

Carol - I haven't tasted them yet! They were quite a bother to mold together, but otherwise easy enough. I forgot to chop the dried cranberries. I aimed to make 16-18 and added more ingredients to do so, but only managed to get 14. My son says 8 are for him and we can have one each! :p This is the recipe.

DH is making dinner tonight. Because we were expecting his sister and boyfriend I hadn't got a meal in mind because we were going to the Persian restaurant. He is going to make his signature chicken stew. I can smell it cooking now. :D
I proposed going to the restaurant onTuesday evening instead, after our Bea pick up. It's really near their house and we can call in on the boutique brewery on the way! :p I think it is so important to have a 'date' now and then. We love it. But I hate dragging myself out in these cold nights. This way we will be on our way home anyway. <3

    1. Something that makes me laugh - my little dog Teddy. His ears flop wildly when he bounces up the stairs!
    2. Something about the current season - a warm house. I can hear the cold wind outside but it's cozy in here.

Lisa, I hope you buy the land & house. I don't think you will ever regret it. If you don't buy it, on the other hand...

Lanette, I bought a dog supplement from Amazon, and the package was sealed too close to the seam, so the seam split and the item was missing. I received an empty package. I asked for a replacement. I explained that there was no item to send back for replacement, that it was missing, but nonetheless, they charged my account for another bottle because I didn't send the original one back. I don't believe I still have the original packaging, but I did take a picture of it. It's a hassle I don't want to deal with. Also, I have had some delayed deliveries, very atypical for Amazon in the past.

Barbara, I love the name you chose for your Roomba.

    ___

I was given a leather recliner from a Buy Nothing group member for my brother's apartment! So now he will be able to have a guest over to watch TV with him or eat dinner. Now we just need a side table and small corner display cabinet and he will be pretty much set. Maybe another floor lamp. It's coming along. Today we will go to a tasting at the Leek & Thistle down the street from his apartment to see if their delivered food will be a possibility for some of his meals. Looking forward to it.

    ___

Thanks, Barbie, for the link to the new month.

Karen, I love the name of the shop Leek and Thistle.... so googled it, if items are as good in real life as they sound, its a winner... and the pricing is good! fingers crossed that it turns out to be so good. Who knows they might be willing to have a spot with some of DB's art work for sale... Or trade for one of their gift cards.

WOW! December already! Thanks Barbie for setting up the new thread.

I’ve speed read the last few November pages.
Seven pages! Crumbs! More speed-reading 😝

Heather: Not happy at all the TV schedule changes either. Grrrr Not a fan of football!
Katla: 👍🏻 That is such good news👌🏻

Successfully achieved my November aim of dropping a few lbs in anticipation of moderate indulgences in the upcoming festive season. I’ve done this the last 3 years. Pre-losing the expected holiday excess baggage seems to work well for me.

Virtual (((hugs))) and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them. Take care of yourselves.

🙋‍♀️ Miele failte to the newbies. Come back often.

💕💖💕 to all. Almost midnight here and eyes are heavy. Time to climb the wooden hill to Bedfordshire, as my Nana used to say. 🥰

If you're interested in the Action for Happiness Calendar ...

    Do Good December
This month, we're encouraging you to carry out small acts of kindness.

Or we could post something we're thankful for, or happy about, related to the holiday season.

December 1 - I love the Christmas music. :) Come December 1, that's almost all I play. Christmas music or classical music (when I have to think at work or when we're in the car).

December 2 - Christmas decorations! We're lagging behind a bit because I usually like to decorate on December 1. But we got the decorations upstairs on Dec 2. Today I'll rearrange furniture and make a start.

December 3 - Summer. My favourite season. And we are finally having a few days of decent weather after a very wild and woolly spring. That's not saying the good weather will last (thanks La Nina) but there should be more of it.

December 4 - Memories. So many of the Christmas songs and traditions remind me of my parents and grandparents and happy Christmases with them.

Just saw your post, Barbara ...

Aha, finally found a December daily gratitude calendar.

“This time of year, there’s a lot of pressure to think about what we want instead of what we have. Every day for the month of December, celebrate what you’re grateful for corresponding to the theme of the day. Snap a photo or update your status on IG or FB with #spaceforgratitude”

1 What is something that makes you laugh? Rhody! We're so very glad we got our little COVID Cat!

2 Something about the current season you’re grateful for. Rest. There will be a lot of rest over Christmas.

3 What about your body do you love/are you grateful for? I like my nose and want to keep it. But my official answer will be legs - for transport (walking) and recreation (cycling).

4 Who is someone in your life that you’re grateful for? I've said husband and parents last month, and that's true, but this month I'll say ... my manager. She has been supportive and encouraging regarding my input into my job.

Normally I like Amazon, partly because it is a big local employer and my cousin works there. But I agree, they are a little less reliable this season. I was supposed to get four packages today, they didn't come, and I didn't get the usual apology. I don't much care, as there's plenty of time before Christmas. I just hope I haven't forgotten anything that ends up being last minute.

Barbie, I'm getting closer to my audiobooks for walking. I've found where I can buy the book I want with an audio version for $18. I also downloaded Libby to my phone and looked for the book, but it only offered me a hold. I think I'm headed for the Audible subscription, but I'm going to wait until I've read my paper books before I start the trial. Now if I can remember the plan!

Nothing special, just work. But no work tomorrow so that means I get to exercise. Since Mason is sleeping downstairs, I think I’ll just take a walk tomorrow morning. Maybe twice around the block

Jess (no Colby), Teresa and her 3 children came last night around 11. Right now they’ve gone out for lunch. Misty here today which makes it feel even colder. Poor Loki isn’t used to kids (Teresa’s) and that they make sudden movements and aren’t the quietest of people.

Water was dripping on me again at BK. The worst part is that this is intermittent. Some days it happens, some days it doesn’t. I did mention it to the manager who was there today and she told me that the same thing happened to her Sat. when I wasn’t there. That’s good, others are feeling it so it’s not just me talking.

Yesterday at the soup- kitchen I tried what one lady made “fruit cake cookies” It may not sound good, but were they ever good!

Anne DE – Christmas shopping almost done?!!!!! I’m still in the “thinking” stage. I looked at Sam’s yesterday to see if I could get something (clothing) for Lynette. The largest size they have is 2XL and she needs 3XL. I get audiobooks from my library that I download and then listen on my phone while I’m taking a walk.

pip – let’s hope the Covid is mild for Kirby. I’m betting that it will be, he’s in such great shape.

Katie – so sorry about your friend’s son

barbara – I must have missed it. What did you name your Roomba?

Chris – glad to have ya back. I’m so sorry about your mom. Know that you did the best you could. Happy early birthday. A lot of the people on here don’t do the friend thing but come here for the friendship we all share

    Allie – feel better fast

    Michele NC
