Friend Requests ... I don't accept them anymore simply because I don't go through the news feed on MFP anymore. I don't make a very good "friend" through that medium.

    Day 15: Text/Call someone ... done.

Pulled a crown off with a piece of toffee yesterday afternoon. Sigh. Will have to call the dentist in the morning and baby the site/post until then. The Bills play today and I am certain my dentist doesn't want to go to the office today ... it's not far from the stadium.

Oh my goodness Heather, just looking at that makes me slightly queasy. I crochet, and have used those stitches many times, but the way the squares are set up, the colors, the patterns, all of it, make it far too noisy for me. I can smell my great grandma's mothballs from here, too. Isn't it funny, how humans find absolutely different things wonderful?

This is the same stitch used to begin many of those squares, but continued on:

That, I would have in my house.

    Love as always...

Heather's picture at first reminded me of the tatting my Aunt did with the squares. Using that thread made the design look lighter. I lean more toward the style Lisa posted (or perhaps it is the colors). Goes to show that different people have their preferred styles and thank goodness we can do or display any of them!

    Thanks drkatiebug and ginnytez.

The old version relied on friending people and the Community section of the app was vicious. It seems to have been directed in the opposite way. Good to know. It seems harder to find conversations, though.

Off to a slow start, though. My food intake was fine yesterday, but friends came over and there was wine. I’d like to come up with an enjoyable alternative to wine.

Lisa - what I like is that it has taken the old fashioned traditional style and somehow made it new. The colours, the yarn, and the placement. To be perfect for me there would have to be more blue than green. :p

I've been looking on the Internet for inspiration as to how to improve my two recent pictures, the view from my bedroom window, and the picture of Edie. I've screenshot a few. Hope to have a go on Wednesday. I want to make them slightly more abstract. More post-impressionist!

Debbie-I find the raccoon invasion disturbing. My two cats no longer go outside (their choice). Next door neighbor told me yesterday there was a nasty possum in his yard and the possum and dogs were having standoff-possum didn't want to back down. I haven't seen it but will keep a look out. We may need to contact animal control-hopefully he was just passing through from one cornfield to the other.

    Take care all,

    Ginny in Ohio[/quote]

only one of our 7 inside cats is allowed outside and only during the day. Before we started letting him out, he was so stressed he was tearing up the door casings, scratching everything. The other six can go in the catio- It is all enclosed, as long as they don't tear a whole in it- We used a fiberglass screen but should have just gone with the chicken wire to start with, then we wouldn't have to be doing the repairs. This in not the first time. Another time was the one female that son's girlfriend brought over(who we were told was fixed but wasn't at the time but is now) was in heat and either she ripped it or the male feral cat did it. That time, she got out along with three or four of the others. Each time we have got them back in. Has happened a few times they got out.

We have possums here too. We are in town so surprised at the wildlife we see here- see skunks too.
The coons are the ones that cause the damage- messing in my garden and tearing up the lawn. Mainly go for the cat food and we worry about the outside feral/semi feral cats.

Having a wonderful weekend with my girlies. Heading home today. Finished all my cards, but for the sentiments that I have to stamp at home. Didn't want to bring the stamps and ink along, so just a little finishing work.

15 Call or text someone you haven't talked to in at least a week... BFF Kerry, to wish her mom (my other mother) a happy birthday.

Love that colorful knitted thing Heather! I would put it on a harder fabric and hang it on a wall. That is art to me, not a blanket persay.😁👍🏻
I took a screen shot and will post it to my sister who has artists fingers.

    Happy Sunday,
Well, yesterday I got all the equipment cleaned off on the showroom, mopped the floor, and started organizing and cleaning the Gravely blade shelf-YUCK! Will make new tags tomorrow. Also sold a few pieces of equipment. Good day. Finished folding the laundry and put away at home, then we left for Kentucky. We stopped at my favorite Mexican restaurant for lunch/dinner. It tasted great but.....darn belly issues! Didn't make it 5 miles down the road and we had to make a quick pit stop. Lets just say I ignored the sign that said for customers only! Things then calmed down until bedtime of course. I am guessing there was too much fat in my diet yesterday. Trying to eat more sensibly today.

FLIES SUCK! Don't know where they are coming into the farmhouse, but upstairs was awful! It took me an hour to vacuum up. I have plastic and tape over the windows now to see if that is mainly where they are coming in or if they just collect there trying to get out.

I should probably get some paperwork done. OH! I had two customers yesterday tell me thank you for their Christmas cards! I sent e cards to as many as I could before Christmas via their email addresses. They thought that was awesome! Yay!

Prayers and Hugs for everyone with family health issues. Try to remember to take care of yourselves, so that you can be there for your family.
Hope your Sunday is relaxing and maybe a bit productive.

Rebecca - Yes, I see it as Art in a very plain room. Or a colourful bedspread in an all white bedroom. I don't think it would be difficult to do, just time consuming! I could see it in my guest room, which is aqua. Blue and pink are my default colours. :D

So many things to watch on TV tonight, after two nights of nothing! Why does that happen so often? I can only record two things at once, so have had to leave one programme and catch up on it on iplayer. New 'Vera' which I am recording, so we can skip the adverts. Also 'Great Pottery Throw Down'. Watching 'Call the Midwife' and 'Happy Valley'. 'Digging for Britain', with my favourite fantasy dinner party guest, Alice Roberts, will have to stay on iplayer. We often watch the BBC, with no adverts, and record the commercial channels.

So, lots of treats in store!

    Love, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

@GodMomKim 👋🏻 hi N. CA, here, too. We are WET, WET, WET!

@kevrit - I used to RV. Hubs and I enjoyed the pandemic hiking trails and biking beaches throughout US! It was so fun.

@KJLaMore what is this list? It seems nice.

Happy Birthday, Rori! I just looked up apple bananas. I lived in the Philippines and never heard of them. They sound wonderful. Will be seeing if I can find some near me to try.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY RORI!

Anyone here like spaghetti and meatballs? Then check out the link in the spoiler. You will get some info you never knew before about this dish. This is a real thing I was informed of through a tv show DH was watching.

    Gratitude list
Word of the year: APPRECIATE—- Today I appreciate new knowledge
1 Sit in silence for three minutes... it's harder than you think—DONE
2 List 5 things using each of your senses——DONE
3 Let go of at least 5 items in your house—tossed Christmas card I had collected
4 What was your favorite Christmas gift? (this year or ever)—This year was jewelry from my ‘adopted’ granddaughter.
5 Move for at least 30 minutes today—-Done plus #1 again!
6 Share a goal you achieved last year—-Bringing my car to the car wash one or more times a month!
7 Slow down and savor one meal today—-Breakfast-savored the texture of my OUI yogurt versus the granola I added.
8 Who was your favorite teacher—My French teacher in High School. Sister Jeannette
9 Create something today—-I will work on my crochet - making a granny square afghan out of left over yarn.
10 What is your favorite lyric from a song—Against the wind, We were running against the wind. We were young and strong, we were running against the wind.
11 Send a card/note to someone today—Done! Note to DH and card for Uncle’s birthday.
12 What are you looking forward to in 2023? Losing weight and better financial status.
13 Tell a random person they look "good" today—Done!
14 Tell us three amazing things that happened recently (you decide what "recently" means...lol) 1. I got to go to TN to attend my daughter’s wedding last year, My brother from AZ came to visit us in NM, I experienced my first 5.4 earthquake in NM this past December.
15 Call or text someone you haven't talked to in at least a week—Called my mom.
16 What made you smile today
17 Take a photo of something you're grateful for
18 What material comforts are you most thankful for? You can make your list as long as you like...
19 Write a positive review for a company for goods or services you've received recently
20 Write down five things you like about yourself
21 Pay it forward in some way
22 What do you most desire in your life right now?
23 Go an entire day without complaining
24 What about you makes you special?
25 Spend time with a loved one
26 When was the last time you felt pure joy?
27 Hold the door for a stranger... or a friend
28 What fear have you overcome?
29 Engage in a random act of kindness of your own choice
30 When was the last time you laughed so hard you almost peed?
31 Now try to "meditate" (sit in silence) for ten minutes...
