I am still stuck, and I am frustrated, and angry. I am Katla and that is my pov. I am willing to use Katla 49. I do not know how to return to my normal ID. Advice is welcome.

Was in bed sick since Wed. night so just now trying to catch up here. On page 62. Still not feeling great but a little better than yesterday. Have to pick up Ezie at 1:10. I won't be walking today.
Supposed to rain off and on all day anyways. At least it isn't snow. My sister called me and she is snowed in- first time in the ten or so years she has lived up there. She is in Cloverdale. Snow on the mountains around my mom's.
Need to eat something but nothing sounds good- not sure if that is why I am feeling off still- handful of tortilla chips with my tea yesterday then half an English muffin w/sausage(because that is what dh brought home) was it for the day. Didn't eat much Wed and what I did came back up a few hours later and all night. I never sleep during the day and I ended up sleeping or resting all day. Barely even looked at my phone and didn't turn on my desktop.
Have a great weekend ladies

Katla,
Try this:
Go to the top of this page and click on the big myfitnesspal in the upper left corner:
This page should come up. Look in the small print at the top of the page. Toward the right, you should see "log out”. Click on that.
Then you should get a log in page like this.
Don’t use the automatic name that comes up.
Click on the blank email or username window and type in your preferred user name (Katla49), or your email, or whatever you usually use as your log in name. See if that brings up the right password and account. If you can’t remember your password, click “forgot password” and follow the instructions to reset it.
Sorry you are having trouble.

Afternoon ladies
Well here I am...I begged off of going to Lauries funeral .. even wearing a mask im worried about getting something and being so close to my trip don't want to chance it.. I know she would understand.. i did let her youngest son know..
Well the dress i ordered for the wedding came and its to small. Sooooo I went online to Amazon and ordered another dress which is very pretty and a pair of tights, a pair of control top panty hose,a elastic waist belt, and a pair of shoes..
So im going to bring 2 dresses
I got in the mail today an invitation to brunch on Friday the 17th the day before the wedding for Joelle the bride and her bridesmaids.. which I thought was so very sweet..
They included me also in Sarahs wedding when I went last time.. It must be a sothern thing.. but I want to look decent.. and in March who knows what the weather is going to be down there Rita ? Im only taking a carry on and a large handbag...so the last wedding i had a summery dress and I was chilly.. so im bringing both a warm dress and and the fancy dress for the wedding..im really wondering if i should bring my big fuzzy coat.
Well I went to AccuWeather and for when im there its forcasted to be between 53-663 -
Thanks, Karen. I’ll give it a try.

Good afternoon ladies!
I did my yoga and my aerobic walking Yay! I ate 1083 calories for a deficit of 309. Yay!
I might do more yoga tonight if I get bored. I was playing with lunges a little bit and confirmed that I just can't do them. I either have to give it up or somehow develop patience and a proper sense of progression. That's okay, my exercise routine is working so I really shouldn't change it. It's tough to remember that when I get excited about new things.
I can put my hands flat on the floor, partly because I stretch and also because my legs are short.
Katla good luck with your login. What happens when you try to log out? Can you get your daughter to help you? I know it's frustrating but it shouldn't be permanent.

Well its afternoon here now. Hello everyone!
Annie/ How do you get yourself into a routine to exercise?
Seems like I just can’t get myself to do anything. Even keeping up with some housekeeping seems overwhelming. The storms have made my neuropathy go crazy. Also congrats on a great loss!
Michele/ I know what the spasms your husband is having feels like. I’ve been getting them in my legs. You can see my whole muscles moving, it looks like an alien is inside of me. I hope he is getting some relief.
Tina/ I have a touch faucet. On our control box, you can adjust the water mixture to the temperature you want for when it comes on. Maybe yours has that too?
Lisa/ Hope you start feeling better, the big C sucks. I had it the first time before they even reported it being a thing here in the US. I went in for a flu test, they said that I had the flu but nothing like they had seen before on test results. Keep your healthcare provider in the loop, sometimes there care can be lingering side effects.
Sorry to seem like such a downer. I’m just stuck. My body is fighting me tooth and nail. In the last few days my weight has fluctuated up and down 10+ pounds overnight repeatedly, it’s draining. I wasn’t even able to go back home to WI, for my mother’s surgery. My husband’s schedule wouldn’t allow him to go along. ( He works for a mining/drilling company) His backup lead quit. So, I was afraid to travel alone just yet.
They just got done doing 3 MRI’s blood work, and EMG and I’ve had a lumbar puncture. They still can’t find a reason for the paralysis I had or the neuropathy it left me with. My neurologist just handed me off to a PA because he couldn’t find anything and wouldn’t discuss the possibility of it being covid or vaccine related. So, they prescribed me the same muscle relaxers, pain med and gabapentin that I’ve been taking for the last 2.5 years. So much for $3000+ dollars of wasted money.
Please forgive the whining. Maybe writing it down and being able to tell someone will get me into a better place. I started logging in again today and with the inspiration of your chats I’ll walk on the treadmill a bit and do my remote PT. The Corgis love to bark at the treadmill and can’t understand why we aren’t taking a walk outside drives me crazy. Sorry pups, two feet of snow is not my jam

Belinda, I get inspired by my father, who is 88 and still walks three miles three times a week. We exercise in the basement together on the other days.
It took a lot of experimenting to find a routine that works for me. I have a weak knee and I have ADHD which means I lose count easily. So I did everything for a single set of thirty reps, or hold for a fast count of seventy five. I am more interested in weight loss than muscle building, so I try to keep moving for seventy five minutes but I use light weights, and don't lift to failure. The goal is to be a little tired and stiff overall, but not really in any one muscle. I try to alternate the harder exercises with stretches, for active recovery. So I have strayed pretty far from straight weightlifting in my search for the perfect workout for me.
If you keep trying, you will find some form of movement that works for you. Start small, light and easy. I sort of collected various exercises from physical therapy and different fitness
experts. Good luck on your journey, keep at it!

PS I walk in circles in the basement and it drives my little dog crazy!4 -
Carla - Happy Birthday youngster!
Katla - I've been where you are, devices and apps want to do things differently after upgrades or they just "burp" and it's nearly impossible to figure out how to get back to square one.
Lisa - Sorry you were under the weather, glad Corey is doing better. There's lots of crud going around.
Ginny - Sounds like you are doing better and slowly getting energy back. Glad it's a weekend!
Carol - Sorry to hear about the tooth! I'm probably going to go thru the same thing one of these days. I'd probably go for a partial depending on where the absent tooth is. Some of my crowns are over 30 years old.
Belinda - Sorry you are going through such a rough time. I messaged you with some info.
Debbie - hope you are feeling better!
Have a fabulous weekend, ladies!

I am totally frustrated by MFP. I am Katla 49. I want the site to get rid of the false name.1

Did 20-40-60 workout today. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Tracy Long Longevity series DVD. After exercise today went to Aldi. Was in and out in 5 minutes. Now home waiting for the dishwasher to be installed
kylia – so glad the procedure went so well.
Katla – so good that you have such wonderful neighbors. This will help put your mind at ease. I know you’ll miss your home, but you have your dd and everyone else there. Did MFP just change your name without you requesting/authorizing it???
Tracey – feel better fast. Pain is no fun
M – yea for the good results from the GP. How wonderful that you’re on leave and then will be in another department. So this means you won’t have dealings with that difficult co-worker!
Carla – what a baby you are!!! Happy birthday
Tina – Vince...exercise….he’s waiting for Vitamin E to be developed. If the MD suggested it, he just might do it. thanks so much for the link. I’ve bookmarked it. I spoke to Vince about possibly doing some back strengthening after this calms down and while he didn’t completely dismiss the idea, he didn’t completely agree, either. Now I’ll just let him think about it.
Carol – hope without the crown your tooth doesn’t hurt real bad
Anne DE – I avoid lunges because I fractured the right foot. Even tho it was last year, the MD told me that the bone is weakened and I should avoid putting all my weight on that bone. So I have to come up with alternatives or just omit them from the workout completely
Got our new dishwasher. In retrospect, I wish we’d gotten a full size refrigerator in stainless steel. Oh well…
As usual, went in the pool after the dishwasher guys left. Also took down the grapefruit pie I made for the pot luck. I signed us up before Vince’s back problems and said that’s what I’d bring so I felt it only right that I bring it.
I get a free bouquet of flowers from Publix. So what I’m thinking I’ll do is get a vase from a thrift store and put the flowers in it, leave it in the clubhouse with a note “thank you for all your prayers, good wishes, offers of help, and everything else you have done.”
After laying in the sun I went in the pool. How I miss the water aerobics! I had my kickboard and was just kicking my legs. I can somewhat feel it now. Nothing terrible, but I can tell that I used the muscle. Can’t wait until we open our pool
Off to take a shower.

It has been quite a week ... my last week of work where I have been for the past 8 months. Sort of.
Monday -- I had a GP appt where I found out that the cyst in my brain is stable (yay) although sometimes I wonder if it is the cause of some of my headaches. I also found out that my bloodwork is great - blood sugars and cholesterol came down a bit - except for my kidney numbers which are borderline troublesome. They've been that way for a while.
Monday to Wednesday night at midnight -- I worked as quickly as I could to move my project toward my goal. My Project Plan had 3 goals and I wanted to get each of them up to a certain point. I finished Goal 3 about about a week ago. One of the IT guys and I settled on Goal 2 and I did some research and passed on info about how that would be accomplished. But Goal 1 was a big goal in the sense of being time consuming. I had been working on it for a while but both Tuesday and Wednesday nights I worked through till midnight. I wasn't going to get it done otherwise.
Thursday morning -- I touched things up and sent out what I had been promising for Goal 1. Then I quickly wrote up what I wanted to say in a 15 minute presentation to a group of the organisations management, including the highest level management, and printed out handouts.
Meanwhile, about 10 seconds after I hit "Send" to send out my Goal 1 accomplishment, my difficult coworker walked in, prepared to hate everything I had done. She logged in, looked at what I sent for all of about 30 seconds and started in yelling at me. I had done everything wrong and was a complete waste of time. There was more, but I turned my back and walked out. Even in the printer room where I was printing the handouts, I could still hear that she was yelling for a bit. Fortunately, she had quieted down when I got back into our area and I put on my music (ear buds) and relaxed before my presentation.
The presentation went really well ... better than I expected. I was so pleased.
After the presentation my difficult coworker had more unpleasant things to say about me and the project, but quieter this time. I just smiled at her.
Then it was lunch and I walked to a large stationery store where I got a few more pens for my colouring. It was a beautiful day and I felt so relaxed.
When I returned to work my difficult coworker was walking around looking absolutely furious but avoiding me which I appreciated. I had called a meeting at 1:30 to run through what I had done with Goal 1 and had invited my unit and my managers. My difficult coworker, another coworker (really nice one) and my manager came, and when my difficult coworker announced to the room that she would have nothing to do with Goal 1 or anything related to it, my manager told her she could leave the room. She didn't and suddenly perked up and showed an interest. But she left to go home immediately after the meeting which I didn't mind at all.
My third meeting of the day was about an hour later ... my farewell afternoon tea. With cake. It was lovely.
Do you remember that, in January, I said I had a secret?
First post on Page 87, here, Days 4 and 12 in my list ...
https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10880701/women-ages-50-for-january-2023/p87
Well, part of that secret is that I'm on leave for a while ... and then I'm being seconded to another department for a bit!
I'll go into more detail next week, I hope.
Machka in OzMachka... congratulations on maintaining your calm with an outlandish co-worker. Hopefully the leave of absence is a good thing? I'm assuming since there was a farewell tea that all is well.
Beth near Buffalo
Yes, my leave is just normal annual leave, not a leave of absence. I booked it because I wanted some time off between positions, especially since the last couple months have been quite intense.
Much needed time to spend in my garden, to cycle, to colour, to read ... time to let my brain relax.
The secondment is also very definitely my choice.Anniesquats100 wrote: »Machka hope your difficult coworker sees the light before you come back. In my experience, being asked to leave a meeting for unprofessional behavior is a step towards being fired. I wonder what she would do if you said you were recording her.
Annie in Delaware
I don't have to record her. When she gets yelling everyone can hear her and about 3 weeks ago or so, she was going at me in our area, so I walked away into the kitchenette. As it happened my manager's manager's manager was there (3 levels up). I get along with her and we were chatting about cycling - we both cycle. All of a sudden my difficult coworker appeared in the kitchen and was extremely rude to me, right in front of our manager's manager's manager who was shocked. My difficult coworker was talked to and I had formal apologies from management.
But that didn't stop my difficult coworker.
Have you ever encountered a person in a professional workplace meeting who leaned across the table and snapped her fingers at the manager's manager (2 levels up) while shouting "HEY! HEY!"?? And then announced to the room that the manager's manager was not listening.
She did that in 2 different meetings recently. She was explaining something, everyone was listening, but the manager's manager happened to looked down at the meeting handouts for a moment instead of at her.
I've been in a lot of meetings in different places, and I've simply never come across something like that before!! The manager's manager was not impressed, and the manager's manager was the one who asked the difficult coworker to leave the meeting in our last meeting.LisaInArkansas wrote: »Machka - Well done! 2.5 weeks leave. And it's right at the end of summer, early autumn here which is usually a lovely time of year.
I'm being seconded for just over 2 years.
I've really enjoyed the work and learned a lot - it's right up my alley - and most of the people in the office are lovely - I've been warmly welcomed and treated very well by 99% of them - but I feel like I need the break and hopefully the office structure will change a little in that time.

Hi Gals,
Everyone with Covid or with loved ones with covid, sending good thoughts and a virtual hug. For those dealing with Paxolovid (spelling?) awful flavor, I found that Good Earth original tea – which is decafe, with a strong cinnamon orange flavor broke through the awful flavor so I drank a ton of it for the time I was taking Paxolovid…
Katla – is there someone on staff at the complex you and DH are at that might be able to help you get this fixed. I know how frustrating this can be, but for the younger generation they seem to just look at it and see the answer.
M – You certainly put your evil co-worker in her place by just letting her dig her own hole! Congrats on the upcoming break! I was really hoping that your news was that you would be able to leave Tasmania and get to see your family.
Annie – congrats
Lunges - I have trouble with them, but can do Warrior or Warrior 2 yoga pose and that stretches some of the same muscles for me without the intensity of a lunge.
Pip – I am in awe everyday when I see how much you have done, and the way you have worked with the pups to make it all work.
Belinda – with your body doing crazy things with the scale, just put it away for a week or two… It is just a number after all. And this is not about perfection or following a particular way, or comparing yourself to someone else. It is about finding a way to make decisions that help your physical and mental health. And at the times that you make a decision that doesn’t support that – its ok just try to do better for the next decision. And each little bit helps 1 minute more activity than the day before is a win! And shaving 10-20 calories off is a win… Sure it’s a slow way but it will work! And it is frustrating to not have answers (Lisa and Kylia have been dealing with is recently) but what you are getting is baseline testing and a list of what it is not- which is part of the figuring out what it might be.
Carla – Happy Birthday (or Belated Birthday)

Hey Ladies!
Thanks for all the welcome backs! The last year or two were just a little rocky and full for me. I don’t know that I can tell it all in one setting so I’ll just try to tell you some standout things little by little.
My Fitness Pal gave me an award today for being on here so long nobody can remember how long I’ve been on here. I can only say it’s been a long time indeed! Anyway, last year I went for a physical; beforehand I made a list of everything I could think of that was wrong with me. Of course one of those things was losing weight. This is my conversation with the doctor.
Me: I have been trying to lose weight for years; I’m eating under 1300 calories per day; going to the gym; and walking the dog too. I’ve only loss 10 pounds in the last year.
Doc: And you are not going to lose any either.
Me: Feeling Outdone! Why is that?
Doc: Because you are old!
Me: Excuse me?!
Doc: Laughed! You are post menopause; your hormones are all over the place; your body’s systems are off center. I’m going to give you a little help.
I love my doctor she is probably 10-15 years younger than I am and always makes me feel good.
So she put me on Wegovy (once a week shot) and later I had to change to Saxendra (daily shot). So, Since May I’ve lost 40 pounds. I have 30 more pounds to lose.
My insurance plan included a subscription to Noom which has been great because it gives you some mental health type lessons. However, I could never use Noom as a replacement to the warmth of My Fitness Pal and you ladies.
Allie: I love the hair too! I dyed my hair last year too! I decided that I didn’t need to look 64 once I started losing weight. I am now a medium brown with honey blond highlights and went back to my dreadlocks. Sorry Allie, but I just have to say this in my best gentle southern woman voice… “I’ve been wanting to kick Tom for years….bless his heart.”
Barbie: So sorry to hear of your losses! That is so hard to lose your babies. After my beloved Doberman died I could only make it a couple of months before I brought a wonderfully spoiled Weimariner puppy home. He gives us a run for our money!
Lanette: Indeed my mother did have a miniature schnauzer. He passed away on Christmas Morning. He had a number of illnesses. My mother had a stroke at the beginning of 2021 and was diagnosed with cancer the early part of 2022. She did radiation and chemo and rang her bell a couple of months ago. I think Buddy hung in there with her until she rang that bell and then felt it was ok to cross the rainbow bridge and let go.
Rebecca: Your weight loss body donation story had me cracking up!
I’m ending for now…..Talk to y’all tomorrow….Have a great day!

Day 1 of my annual leave -
We went to a honey place and my husband picked up some equipment for the hives.
I got some honey: creamed leatherwood and fennel. Yum yum!
And we got some bee-related jewellery.
Then we went to a tip shop and I got several CDs which I'll rip and a Phantom of the Opera DVD.
Home again and I had a gorgeous walk to the beach. The day hit about 30C (86F) so the beach was wonderful. Stopped by a newsagency on the way back and spotted a bee picture which I had to have.
Laundry, colouring, reading, relaxing and lots of sleep.
Day 2 - today is hot but overcast. I've hung some of my laundry outside but I will have to keep an eye on it and rush it back in if it starts to rain.
Mostly, so far, I've been relaxing and listening to Vivaldi.
At some point I'll need to go through my emails. About 135 arrived in my home Inbox about 5 days. That's pretty normal for me, but I usually keep up with it so that there are only about 30 emails in my Inbox that have not been dealt with.
Now for the garden ... while it is still not raining.
And I'll tell you more about the secondment next week. That's the most exciting part!!

I stepped on a friend’s bathroom scale this evening. I’m not happy with myself. Next shopping trip I plan to buy a bathroom scale for myself.
Meanwhile, I stepped into the fitness room here. I spent a good amount of time on a NuStep. I plan to visit the fitness room regularly.

Kim- that is one of my favorite teas. I drink a lot of that all year long in the afternoon/evenings. No caffeine. I have a friend who was drinking WAY too much Fireball. She tried this tea and now drinks that instead of the whiskey most of the time. Sent some for my former hubby- he is hooked on it too.
Love that I can get 4boxes for just $8 at Grocery Outlet. So much cheaper than Amazon.1 -
Happy Birthday Carla!
Congratulations Annie on loss!
Katla- tonight one of the programs I use often disappeared from my laptop. I just shut it down and restarted computer. The program reappeared ¡ I hope you get your issue fixed.
Rest day at home. I did some online training, watched some TV, dusted the living room and dining room, wiped down kitchen, scrubbed 2 bathrooms, and washed bath mats. Productive at a slow pace. Back to work tomorrow.
Healing thoughts!
Encouragements!
Congratulations!

Just north of Calistoga
Still feeling sick so going to bed.

Feb 24 Reflect on steps you have taken to achieve past goals. Started small with PT, kept at it, gradually increased weight, reps, time. Allows me to dance and walk the dogs down the drive to the powerline.
Feb 23 Encourage your teammate to utilize their unique strengths. Joe’s kind heart toward animals, thoughtful reading, height and strength.
Snow days! Joe went out to brush the snow off from the hummingbird feeders as the littlest ones couldn’t get to the nectar. While he was out there, he made and threw snowballs for Shadow. The snow gives Tumble great joy, Shadow not so much but snowballs make up for much. Forecast is for snow to continue all day, sometimes as fast as 2 inches/hour. Joe says it looks like Idaho. More like Tahoe to me… Power blipped a few times this morning then out for awhile. Just after I brought in a few gallons of flushing water and Joe fired up the wood stove, power came back on. Taking advantage of internet time while it lasts Whoops, there it went again! Wanted to post a short clip of Joe and the pups playing in the snow but the frequent outages have played heck with our internet. Internet was down from noon Thursday til around 6pm Friday so lotsa catching up to do. Hope this works: https://youtube.com/shorts/FCZXqGKHq9A?feature=share
And this is what yesterday’s crocus looked like today
Heather happy tulips coincidence. Great minds you and your friends have.
Carla a very happy pre-birthday to you and thanks for the heads up. Think I’ll wait on the book, avoiding darkish stories for now.
Katla hope Machka, Carol’s, Mary’s, Rita’s, Karen’s or Okie’s tips help you get back into your @katla49 id. @myvt9v4crh is just too hard for me to remember If all else fails can you uninstall the mfp app from your phone? Is it an iphone or an Android?
Kylia the nurse was right, you do NOT look your age.
Lisa good for you. Seems like the “and then what” gets left out of a lot of conversations with caregivers, almost as if, if we knew what the recovery (or next step) was, we’d balk at the procedure.
Machka congratulations on accomplishing your project goals, your forthcoming leave and department changes. Look forward to learning more.
Well done Annie!
Barbie was very glad to hear that Bessie walked with you, even just a little. Have been sad for you since your comment to Tere about how you were walking alone since losing your poodle.
Carol so sorry to hear about your tooth. Hope it’s not painful and the remaining teeth don’t shift around.
Belinda writing your symptoms and struggles down will help, as will logging and starting to walk. Baby steps. When you can, post pics of your Corgis to make us all smile. ((hugs))
@Rosemarie2972 Rosemarie in GA, miss you and hope all’s as well as it can be with you and yours.
