@tarun_yadavA - I'm with you. I like the mini, hard shell eggs but wish they had a dark chocolate version (I know against everything Cadbury is all about). I have never seen a white chocolate egg like that one just the regular chocolate ones which are still too sweet! Also I would much prefer pie to candy any day! So pie it is!
It started raining much earlier than the forecasted 3pm but I decided to get out for a walk anyway, how bad could it be? Right?
Planned to keep it really short if my toe was hurting or the rain was miserable. It was raining pretty good but there was no wind really to speak of and at any other time it would have been fantastic for a rain run. It wasn't even cold - around 61F. My toe was a bit sore so I considered cutting it short at one point, but in typical runner mentality decided to go just a little further, up to the end of the street, then a bit more down to the next corner... HA! Toe felt good by then so even though not dressed for it, I decided to run a little. Ok that was pretty great, so ran some more, just a little run about a block each here and there with walking in-between. We were soaked when we got home but I was feeling so happy that we got out when we could! I am not sure how Hobbes felt about it but he does love his towel rub down afterwards. I think my toe is ready to run once the rain lets up and my schedule allows. That might not be until Friday unless I can sneak something in Thursday morning.7 -

Great run @martaindale . Hills can be so hard and I often find that I can walk faster than I am running them too. Glad you are getting some of the limbs cleaned up.
Nice running @eleanorhawkins ! Enjoy your hiking holiday!
@Mari33a Great getting out and getting it done when your energy is low.
@shanaber I didn't realize it was pi day today until they had Chicken Pot Pi at daycare for lunch. LOL Glad your toe did well with your rainy workout today.
@tarun_yadavA That does look good, but way too sweet.
Got up and got my run in before heading off to work. Today's plan called for intervals. I ran/walked 4/1 min at 4.2/3.8 mph, 2 x (4.5/3.8mph for 4/3 min), 2 x (5.0/3.8 mph for 4/3 min), 4.2 mph for 5:05 min. Total of 2.75 miles in 38:05 min for an average pace of 13:51 min/mile. I also walked one mile total for warm up and cool down. Avg HR was 127 with a max of 145 bpm. I wasn't sure what pace I could sustain for 4 min, so started with 4.5. That seemed a little easy, so did the last ones at 5.0. I could have probably gone a bit faster. Next time.

@shanaber at this time, they don't think I will need radiation or chemo, which is such good news. It all depends on the final pathology during surgery though so that could change. I am hopeful. Glad your toenail procedure went well. My sister had bunion surgery and was really happy she did. I think it would be worth it to get rid of that pain.
Thanks again to you all for your notes and good wishes. I took a snow day today - I think we had about 10" of snow. I did some stress-cleaning and had my pre-op phone call. It's all feeling very real now. I should have snowshoed a bit, it was a perfect day for that. But I did walk Stella when it was letting up and it was very pretty. I'll take spring now please though.8 -
I beat this week's atmospheric river by this -><- much. A nice dry warm run.

It was cold this morning at 39°F, but there was no wind and I had a nice run. I ran 5.25 miles. I didn't see any critters, but I did see a shooting star. It was dark the whole run. I was really enjoying the sun rising as I was coming home the last couple of weeks, but I guess it is back to having the entire run be dark.
@shanaber Glad the toenail is healing nicely.

@chris_in_cal - Great you missed the atmospheric river! We have had pouring rain all day and are now under a 'moderate' flood watch (possible threat to life or property). I don't think we have ever had one before at least not that I was aware of.
Hope you can get your nail corrected. I have to say I am surprised at how easy it has been with mine and how much better it feels.
@katharmonic - good luck with the surgery and I hope you don't need any further treatment! I was fortunate with mine and did not need anything else either other than more frequent check ups/mammograms.3 -
Morning all
Got in a 10K... Little bit extra to burn off that Cadburys Creme Egg
@SummerSkier just the one egg 😊
(They're not that big! 175 cals according to the Barcode scan!)
@quilteryoyo - yes, white chocolate that bit sweeter than milk chocolate, and with that syrupy goo (lack of better adjective there!) in the middle made it a bit too sweet for me!
@katharmonic hope surgery goes well 🙏
@teresa502 lol @ staring at Ryan Reynolds
@shanaber favourite pie is... ??3 -
Hello all!
I couldn’t go out yesterday, even though I wanted to! Today though I got in 13.1km. It felt nice and easy, even though the pace was a bit faster than my average easy run pace. That’s possibly a sign that the new shoes might be “faster” than my old ones. The weather was ok. It did hail quite a bit on me off and on, so I had putting on/taking off my running jacket, but it doesn’t hail very often here, so I found it interesting to run in. I am starting to feel ready for my race, just 1.5 weeks now!
I am at 107.8km / 175km for March.7 -
@tarun_yadavA yeah, white chocolate would definitely be too sweet with a cream egg.
@shanaber Glad your toe is healing up.
@Laurz9191 Hail would be terrible to run in! You have been doing great with training. You are definitely ready and can’t wait to hear how it goes.

Logging 2 runs today. We spent the whole day yesterday sawing downed branches, dragging them to the burn pit, and burning. It was a lot of work but the yard is looking better. My family is headed home today for various appointments so I am spending this afternoon collecting and burning what I can. It’s raining a fair bit of tomorrow so it will be a rest day. Then it may be too wet to really burn after that so just going to do what I can the rest of this week.4 -
Weather kept me from running the last two days (yucky sleet-like stuff changing into snow). Today was clear but ridiculously windy, so not much fun.5 -
@tarun_yadavA - that is a tough question and varies somewhat depending on the time of year and my mood I guess.
I love Pecan Pie and have an awesome recipe with Jack Daniels in it. It is a family favorite that my daughter now makes.
During the holidays it would have to be Mince Pie
In the summer a frozen peanut butter pie with a chocolate crust
Of course then there are the good old standbys - cherry and apple
So really... just pie 😁5 -
Nothing exciting today. Just 7 treadmill miles. I really wanted to hit 100 miles at the halfway mark of the month. Didn't quite get there, but close.

@katharmonic Glad to hear that they don't think you'll need follow up treatments. Glad you got in some cleaning, even if it was due to stress. Hang in there. Hugs and prayers.
@chris_in_cal It's great that you beat the weather and got your run in! Wind is so hard. You did great!
@kgirlhart I don't see many shooting stars and when I do they sort of scare me for a second. The days will get longer soon and hopefully you will get to see the sun rise again.
Nice run @tarun_yadavA . Good that you did extra to work off the "egg."
@Laurz9191 I can't imagine running in the hail. You are doing great and sounds like you are ready for your race. Can't wait to hear how it goes.
Running and limbs is a great workout @martaindale !
You're doing great @Scott6255 . So close to 100 miles...way over half way to your goal!
I did do my exercise before heading out to work again. Today's plan called for 45 min easy. I was planning on a wun, thinking I wouldn't run much. So, I walked 5 min and then ran at 4.2 mph until my HR got up to 130. I was surprised that was almost 10 min. I then walked until my HR got back down to around 120, which didn't really take long at all. So, I continued with that method, not really counting minutes, but by HR. I did make sure that I "ran" enough to make at least 2 miles and then walked 10:50 min to make a mile walking. From Garmin, it looks like I figured it pretty well. It was slow, but I'm counting it as 1 mile walk and then 2.1 mile run in 30:33 min for an average pace of 14:32 min/mile (4.1 mph). My avg HR was 117, with a max of 125. Total time was 46:28 min.

Not running related but if anyone is interested in watching some of the National Agility Championship it is streaming Friday - Sunday.
Sunday will be the big day with the finals and all of it is run by jump height (I am not certain of the specific order but probably small to tall). You can find it here:

Went to the dermatologist today and got cut up a bit, I might have to miss 3/4 days.

Morning everyone!
Today's 9K
@shanaber interesting choice! 🥧
'Sweet' - either Pecan, or (I don't know if you have it your side of the Pond) 'Bakewell' (basically, Cherry-Almond frangipan type thing).
'Savoury' - ummm... A mushroom+leak (or even plain mushroom) in a creamy/cheese type thick sauce inside the pie4
