I plan to go to the library with my friends the next time they go, and I will get my own library card. I love to read. ❤️

Machka-sorry you have had to deal so much lately.
Kyle is his dad ,Tracy and Kyle have been together 17 yrs.
Miles is out like a light,im glad he is another rough night of sleep last night for me.4 -
Katla, When you go to the library ask them about downloading e books or audio books to your phone or computer. I can't get to the library very often so I appreciate being able to get books electronically without leaving home.

Barbie—Down loading books was available in our library in StHelens, OR. I will go to the closest library to me here in Illinois and get a library card. I’ll find out whether they have Library to Go in this library. I’m keeping my fingers crossed to have that service. ⭐️

The Italians do some wonderful things with fish. I don't have a mackerel recipe, but my spouse makes a sardine pasta that has become my comfort food. Personally I think that mackerel is more 'fishy' than sardine, but it might work (?). I'm going to ask him to make that pasta with chickpea spaghetti and see how that works. It would be a +++protein /carb meal.2 -
Well I managed to get myself to the table and had a go at something I had seen on Instagram.
While I was waiting for that to dry, I did a little post card sized doodle.
Not too terrible for a 'sick' day. I wanted to keep DH company. He is still painting his complicated animal picture.

Machka sorry your DH had a meltdown. It's tough to have to be the adult and handle everything day after day. I admire how much you get done, and how rich a life you have built.

Hello everyone,
I just bought this book "The Body Builder's Kitchen" and the recipes are pretty simple. I like the way it is set up with a bunch of different meal plans to chose from. I will probably follow none of them. Still, I recommend this book. I am done with dieting that has never worked for me EVER. I am going for building as much muscle as I can so that I will have strong old lady bones and a better body.

Anniesquats100 wrote: »@anitanap2 hi! I would recommend you start with the book Strong Women Stay Young by Miriam Nelson. She has a complete routine with ankle weights and dumbbells that is tested and has all the right instructions.
I do over thirty exercises at home including squats, deadlifts, upright row, single arm bent over row, cross punches, triceps pullovers, wrist and bicep curls, chest press, overhead press, and flies. I also do a bunch of stretches, and some knee PT and planks and sit-ups. I do a little bit of everything, generally with only five pounds, thirty reps, and I keep moving. My tempo is too speedy by most muscle-building experts, but it keeps the calories burning.
Good luck developing a routine that works for you! Keep going, and adjust as you go.

Thanks @Anniesquats100 I will look up that book!1 -

Welcome newbies and returnees! (((hugs))) to those who need them.
WOW Margaret! That article about your SIL is amazing. As a HS swimmer, I am IMPRESSED. So sad that she didn't get her Olympic chance.
What an amazing young woman that Destiny is, Debbie. That smile in her position and her attitude is phenomenal. I'm praying for her and her family and the entire team daily. Love all the encouragement on the leg. Obviously she has lots of people who love her.
Good luck Terri!
Machka, sending you the best thoughts and love for better days! Wish I could do more!
Sorry you're not feeling well either, Heather. Feel better soon. Your paintings are LOVELY!!!
I was just going to mention downloading books too, Katla! I love reading on my Kindle, but Library to Go (or whatever app they use) is so convenient. Good Luck!
I've started Spring Break, so I have NOTHING to complain about. "sorry"! (not really)
Happy EIGHTH birthday to our grandson Hunter! What a cutie!

Good morning, ladies. I've been reading through the posts and sorry to hear the struggles some are facing. My heart goes out to Carmine and wishing the best for her.
Been doing some spring house cleaning and washing walls. Getting to be too much of a chore for me and I think it may be time to have a cleaner come in a couple of times a year to help me out with these big jobs. Will be looking into that this fall. I read about someone in our local newspaper that does cleaning for seniors. I think it is something our area needs as there are a lot of seniors in town and also the rural area.
Got my travel documents the other day and getting excited about my Ireland trip. Everything looks very well organised and hoping the trip to Dublin airport will go smoothly. Flying with Aer Lingus but it is a code share with Westjet from Edmonton to Toronto. I'm going to try to just take carry on so no checked bag. Will see how that works. My carry on is 20" and fits the measurement requirement. Just have to make sure it is not over 22 lbs.
Will be having family over for Easter which is just after DH's birthday so a couple of celebrations to look forward to. Will be glad when Easter is over with as every time I open the pantry two chocolate Easter bunnies are staring back at me....one for each of the younger grands. Chocolate is my weakness and very hard to resist!
Back to cleaning...enjoy your day.

Question has anyone on here used or have known anybody to use Frankincense, and or Aspero to improve cognitive function? Supposedly Aspero can rebuild and improve brain function. I saw it on Facebook today. Then I did a little research. I thought that if it works, it may improve neurological issues like Parkinson’s. I read that it improves symptoms in people that have Alzheimer’s and dementia. Machka it may help with your husband’s brain injury. Remember big Pharma does not want people to use natural remedies.
💕 Mary from Arizona/Minnesota
I have some frankincense and didn’t realize it was good for dementia, etc. I did some research and found vitamin B1 slows it down so have been dosing my DH with that. I will investigate Aspero. It is early on and IF he does stop drinking for good the natural stuff will help keep him at a stable level. (My memory could use some help too!)
My move away from this park will be a long time coming. I initiated all our other moves and had to be the one to actually pack up and make all the arrangements. Financially, we need to wait until the car is paid off in 3 years for a comfortable move. If I leave this up to him, the preparations will never happen. I want to wait until the car is free to move so am looking and working toward that. He says stuff then doesn’t follow through, but in this case, I want to go so am saving up for tires and working toward being financially able. He has nothing to do with the finances and refuses to learn, so that part will be up to me.

Rosemarie--I would enjoy hearing all about your volunteering. I would be in so much trouble is I tried working at the pet rescue. I would want to bring them all home.
Heather--So glad you made it home ok, sounds scary to me. I do so enjoy seeing your paintings. I think they are very good.
Terri--Prayers for all to go well and you to be up and around soon.
Machka--Prayers and hope you get some rest this weekend.
Kylia--Glad you made it home ok. Hope you get answers at the doctor.
Well I have worked in the healthcare system for over 36 years and still surprises me. Our friend that came in last week with a stroke and heart attack was going to be sent home today. I talked to social work and anyone who would listen. She is not able to go home as she lives alone. She can not use her left arm and she is left handed, she can not walk even with a walker without falling to the left. They had talked about sending her to the rehab floor for a couple weeks and because she doesn't have insurance and has medicaid pending they said they would have to send her home. Well after I made several phone calls they came and told me she is going to rehab. They were under the impression she is my sister. What a bunch of ****. She needs the rehab and it should not matter who she is related to. I keep telling myself the important thing is she is going to get rehab. Thanks for listening to my rant.
Still having a lot of joint pain and I do believe most of it is because the weather can not make up it's mind. 40's yesterday and 70's today.
Take care my dear friends. Blessings, VICKI, GRAND ISLAND, NE9 -
30. Mentally scan your body and notice what you are feeling. Before and after today’s PT stretches.
Debbie, thankful for Destiny Hope’s courage and bright spirit, prayer said for healing and comfort.
Rosemarie well done for your hard work in the cattery.
Lanette 4-5 years is not a lot of time to save up for a new roof. From watching the Upright Health-how to get up from the floor, have decided to do some of my PT stretches on the floor. Good thing there are no webcams there
Ginny our line dance teacher believes it is her mission to challenge our brains as well as our bodies. Yesterday she had us dance 3 different dances in one song. All three started with the same 8 steps and had some same, some different steps. We all struggled and resisted but finally made it on the second full try through. I must remember to thank her next week, I was one of the grumblies.
Annie your slippers spoke to your sense of urgency. Well done for exercising “anyway” and maintaining a deficit.
Tracey thank you for your SIL’s story. What is a red seal carpenter?
Viv, “not been sticking to my routines…” I don’t know why it’s such a struggle, but I have to drag myself by the scruff of the neck to do the PT exercises and stretches. I try to remind myself that the first set is the hardest, that the rest will go by quickly and I’ll feel better after. This carrot is marginally more effective than “or you’re really going to HURT if you don’t” stick. Good luck!
Allie, CT has a program (HUSKY) that can cover children from birth to age 19 in families of all income levels. It includes mental health services. Tracy could call 1-877-CT-HUSKY (1-877-284-8759). https://portal.ct.gov/OHA/Employers/Employers/HUSKY--Healthcare-for-Uninsured-Kids--Youth ((hugs))
Machka whooshing better days for you both, and favorable radiology results.
Heather really admire your patient wisdom about G and your body. That first painting makes me think of looking out through window panes at an exuberant spring country garden.
Kylia maybe having the police (and alarm company) call your SIL is an idea whose time has come?
Betsy putting your head back in the sleeping bag seems like the right response to that snow.
@anitanap2 here’a a SWSY video to get you started. https://www.youtube.com/embed/r1YvnvQo4Yc?list=PL-lxnbdeufTaqB0d7AXnRKTNTWy1khOXO
Mary I used to take acv with collagen every morning, did good things for my nails, wonder why I stopped. One caution, be sure to thoroughly rinse/brush your teeth after, it plays heck with enamel.
Joy time to relocate those bunnies and not to your tum!
Vicki You are an angel, like Michael, fighting for your friend. What did “they” think when they sent her home? In an ambulance or taxi? That she would fall at the doorstep and the ambulance would have to bring her back? Thank you for stepping up.
Katla a little green hummingbird was trying to find nectar in the evergreen huckleberry outside my window. When he caught sight of the feeder he swooped in and tanked up. Even got to see his little tongue darting in and out. I felt like you were stopping in to say “Hi” and “time to get up off that chair and do your yoga!”

I use ACV daily. I put a splash in my English cucumbers, with a small splash of soy sauce and Everything seasoning. It seems to help process the food better. Then I have a hearty splash with Fresca. I know it helps in digestion, as I can't remember the last time I took Tums. I'm not gurgling at night either. Course my eating window is 12 to 4 pm, so by the time I go to bed I am pretty much empty. Between using the ACV daily and also fixing myself a mug of golden milk, I am feeling better these days.👍🏻💖. Golden milk is just warmed milk with a tsp of turmeric, powdered ginger, and cinnamon. I love it!

I really want to get that xstitch for Jess done so Vince and I took a short walk last night. Normally, I would have taken a longer walk, but I wanted to get back to work on this.
Now making a pork tenderloin for this week and then the freezer
There’s a problem at the bank and some people haven’t received their check.
Allie – Tracey has a wonderful cleaning person. Do you think she’d share him? Lol Does Carmine still have that friend (I remember he was so good). For the life of me, I just can’t remember his name.
Debbie – I can’t even begin to fathom getting my leg amputated, much less someone at Destiny’s age. Prayers for her and her family. Destiny is such a trooper I have no doubt in my mind that she’ll be running circles around us in no time
Like M I can get up from a chair with no hands but getting up from the floor I usually use at least one hand
Viv – happy belated birthday to you
Soup kitchen tomorrow. There seems to be a problem with our bank and people not getting their checks that we send via online payment. So tomorrow the guy who is going to do the excavation work for us is coming here after the soup kitchen to be sure we’re on the same page as far as what we want done and also to pick up the deposit.
Rosemarie – “cat house”. Thanks for the smile. That was the first thing I thought of
katla – I love the ebooks. I am so glad I have a library card here and in FL
Wish I knew what we were doing for Easter. I know that I have to lector. But if Jess is oncall, we will probably go up there. Or will she come here, which means I need to make a menu and do food shopping

It is so great that you are able to speak up for your friend and actually have them listen to you.
That is a true blessing for her. I am sure she really appreciates it. Rehab is where she needs to be, for sure1 -
Heather: Your plan for Easter Lunch sounds delicious!
Heather and Karen: I envy how you are both working out. I feel so short time with so many tasks. I did walk 2 miles today on the treadmill at the gym.
Terri: I hope your hospital stay goes okay
Debbie: Praying for Destiny. How is she?
Machka: Sorry your spouse had a melt down. You are doing a great job caring for him, loving him and also holding a job. What you said about high school not having to define a person's future...you gave math as an example.. was inspiring.
Katla: I hope Carmine has several friends. When my spouse passed recently 3 of my friends took me to dinner. We don't regularly stay in touch, but they were there for me in February!
RV Rita: I know it will be awhile before you move...but at least this time will give a chance to decide where you want to go.
Kylia: I hope everything is okay with your heart and that the tachycardia isn't a problem.
Anitanap2: Enjoy your new book! And work on getting strong!
I am still sore from squatting at my new volunteer position on Tues and Wed. To the point where I am taking Tylenol. I walked on the tread mill today but did not do the elliptical in order to rest those muscles. I do sit in the red recliner quite a bit and hope this changes in the future. I might try to add in some gardening next week, so that I move about a little more. Thank you to all that wished me well and had kind things to say about the loss of my husband.
Best,
Rosemarie from Georgia
