Allie, do you think having Carmine stay at your place for a week or more would help Tracy get some rest? And maybe calm Carmine down a little? Can you plan a ‘spa’ day for you and Tracy, or you and Carmine for a massage and mani/pedi? That might give everyone a break. I know you are the go-to babysitter for Miles, but you all seem to need a break.

1. Do something kind for someone you really care about. I need to think about this and plot! I gave my son a gift card to Netflix. He needed something to make him smile.
2. Focus on what you can do instead of what you can’t. I will try. Did this.
3. Take a step toward an important goal no matter how small. I have to think about this. I did not buy beer today. Working on not enabling my DH.
5. Let someone know how much they mean to you and why. It’s my brother’s 59’th birthday today. Going to call him. We never really call each other.6. Look for people doing good and reasons to be cheerful.RVRita in NM

No he gets upset when Miles wakes him up, so Tracy sleeps on the couch with Miles on top of her and he will toss and turn so she is lucky tto get 4 hrs of sleep a night.
Kyle leaves around 6:25 in the morning and I get there right after so Tracy doesn't have to get Miles in the car to get Carmine to the bus stop.
Rich ,Tracys dad had a nervous breakdown when I was 9 months pregnant with Dan ,it wasn't great...thank goodness for his parents who kept us afloat.
Well its 2 am here and here is hoping I can get back to sleep.
Maybe get Miles a portable crib to put in the living room so Tracy can get more restful sleep? Once Miles calms down and falls asleep, she could put him in the crib.
On the other hand. Kyle needs to grow up and help her out IMO. MY DH never helped at night, but I would bring the baby to bed, I was nursing, and would let them sleep in my bed until they would sleep through the night.

Yesterday was busy. I had an appointment with the dermatologist regarding a problem spot on my right cheek, close to my ear. I haven’t taken the bandage off yet. I plan to leave it alone and wait until the bandage falls off on its own.
DD & I also bought a new electric shaver for DH. He hasn’t used it yet. It is waiting for him to open & use. I hope he will like it. 🤞🏻

Well, I’ve typed quite a bit this morning, so that is better. My therapist appointment went well. It helped my mood and I treated myself after by using their aqua massage chair for 1/2 hour then bought myself a Carmel sundae at Sonic’s. LOL. That helped too. She also changed my meds from a sustained release to an immediate release so it can take more effect when I really need it.
Just for me, my stressors right now:
1. My 11 year old chihuahua Brownie is in end stage heart failure
2. My son is on the verge of another mental breakdown after losing his job
3. My YDD is fighting with her in-laws (south vs north kinda thing and mom vs daughter-in-law)
4. My car is 170 miles away waiting for the haunted/alien radio to be repaired and the loaner is a brand new 2023 that I am terrified of scratching.
5. Last night our air condition went out and it is now 82 degrees at 10:00 am.
6. DH has been in a really bad mood the last couple days. He doesn’t talk so I have no idea why
7. I now have rheumatoid arthritis and a ‘trick finger’ that hurts like the dickens if i don’t move it on a regular basis, so at night I am awakened by tremendous pain in my left hand. Going to doc in a couple weeks for this.
8. I am overwhelmed, worried, anxious, and depressed so gained 2 pounds last month. Trying to correct that and so far am doing ok.
Sorry about this but it helps me to list things out and talk to you ladies. I know others are in much worse situations, but just a note helps me tremendously.

Rita - It really is OK to talk to us about where your head is...As Spider Robinson said, "Shared pain is lessened; shared joy increased..."
Good morning so far... overdid a little outside to finish up pulling all the vetch, so am relaxing this afternoon with food porn--I love the competition baking shows when I just want to chill and relax. The good part about my leaky little sieve of a mind is I can watch the series over as soon as I forget who won the overall. Silver linings everywhere!
Love y'all,

Tracey-good to hear you have a supportive doctor. The airline job sounds interesting. I think you have some positives going on-that can make it easier to cope. If you go on sick leave there does the company give paid time off?
Kim-hope your mother's attitude change lasts for a bit longer. Proud of you standing up and speaking your mind, Sometimes that is very hard for us to do-especially to a parent.
Rebecca-at least now you have an idea of where your son is. Strange behavior but also could have nothing to really do with any of you. Sometimes all we can do is stand back and love them and wait for them to find their way. When our YS was tied up in a very bad relationship and making poor decisions I kept telling DH to say nothing and wait because our boy was still in there somewhere-and he was.
YS did call last night and said we might have to cancel our Mother's day/his birthday cookout Saturday. When I asked what was wrong he said DIL had not heard from her dad in a few days (he lives near them). She went over to check and found him dead. Don't know any other details. I am on standby for whatever assistance I can provide. So very sad.
Work from home day today.

I'm so sorry for your DIL, my condolences. 🙏
In regards to youngest sons location, a vague passing of recollection from a sailor in his division saying maybe Cuba is not enough of a solid lead as to our son's whereabouts. So we're waiting for the dept of records/lost sailors to get back with us, after sending info to them. Strange that they can't tell you information on the phone, but you can via the mail. It seems all the same to me.

When I got to Kingsway, a big dual carriageway along the seafront, I tripped halfway across the first carriageway, and ended up staggering across the raised central reservation, falling, and landing smack in the far one. By some miracle nothing was coming. I sprained my wrist, scraped my hands and was horribly shaken. Sore ribs.
I crawled and slithered back to the reservation and some passing cyclists shouted to ask if I was OK. I said I was!
Then a refuse lorry slowed down and asked if I was alright. He then stopped the lorry and he and a young woman got out and came across. They helped me to get across to the street corner, stayed with me, and rang DH. He came in the car to get me.
So, I'm at home, icing my wrist, which is very painful. Ribs sore. But what a lucky escape! I hadn't even checked the far carriageway when I set off across the first one, because I always stop in the middle!
So, I'm let off doing anything much today!
The names of my helpers were Gary and Patricia, so I've emailed the council to commend them.

I’m just now getting caught up. This scared the heck out of me. Made me tear up a little.
I hope you are much better by now.

Heather: Is it your anniversary? Hope DH felt better after his game of cricket.
Machka: I hope the CKD doesn't progress. Certainly with the cycling you get enough exercise! I like mandarins as well.
Annie: Hopefully this roofing job can be done in a day!
Kim: Great news about your Mom being more appreciative
Rebecca: You haven't gained weight so that is a good thing! Weight loss is hard. I have not lost any weight since my husband passed in late February. I haven't gained...but haven't lost.
Lanette: Glad the cat is okay! Great about getting new gutters and a leaf guard!
Tracey: I will pray that the job with the airline is offered to you and works out!
I plan to attend a book group after I work at the Rescue on Wed. I haven't quite figured out how I am going to clean up from working at the rescue before going to the book group. The book is Tattoos on the Heart which was written about 2010 and is about a priest who works with youth in gangs in Los Angeles. He has some inspiring stories! I should be walking now, but may go and lay down for another hour. I am getting highlights put in my hair this morning and meeting with the attorney this afternoon. Then the yard man is going to help put my drapes back up in the family room. So nothing exciting happening here, but going along!
Best,
Rosemarie from Georgia
Hugs friend! Happy highlighting!
Weight is just a small part of what is happening in our lives huh? I mean I am conscientious of what I put in my body, food wise. But the days of measuring dressings and weighing food is over. Shoot, if I can't eyeball a tsp of something at sixty, then may the Gods smite me now.🙄😜. I choose to happily cook and bake, like half mad scientist, half 4 yr old delight. It makes me happy to chop, even though maybe I should not have both baby potatoes AND wild rice in that soup.
I pick and choose my battles. Honestly, the stress of being so disciplined in food prep, times of eating etc, is strong enough to just accept that I will be a fairly healthy obese woman for the rest of my days. And I am ok will that. Self acceptance in wherever I am in my weight journey is key for my mental health.

This is my new thrown posy vase, to go with the tea light holder I made before.
And the mug with pencils on it is DH'S new one. My square pinch pot is for nuts, to go with the rwo previous ones for olives and chips. The painting is a quick one I did when Edie was here!
Also got lots of Italian fennel sausages and meatballs. Unfortunately, because it's summer, they didn't have the tweed cap DH was after.
I managed it all, despite everything taking me twice as long and being twice as tiring. Even walking along the street, you have to avoid people bumping into you. Buses present their own challenges. This is all a good lesson.

Rita- im so sorry your going through all of this.
I only have the one bedroom and I dont think she would want to sleep on the couch and she is just as nasty to me as she is to her mother.
They have a porta crib but just took it down. He falls asleep nursing ,she puts him in his crib..this morning he woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed chatting upma storm at 2 in the morning so Kyle was up both of them were until about 4 until he went to sleep again for a little bit.
He only napped for about an hour and a 1/2 this morning..
And he is chatting up a stoem most not understandable. But he is learning alot of words..1 -

Lisa ... perfect quote from Spider Robinson ...
Kim ... glad to hear your Mom is playing nice and congratulations on being asked to officiate the wedding!
Tracey ... so thankful that you have your doctor's ear and an option ...
I have been weighing/measuring/logging even though it's anathema to me and the IF lifestyle. I can see where I have been sliding in my IF lifestyle so I have to concede that it's been beneficial.
My husband has decided that he and I will re-side the house ourselves. Hmm. That will be interesting.
Our new driveway that was replaced last October has sunk significantly in places. The contractor came out this morning and he agrees it's not right, but he also doesn't know what to do about it. Sigh. He's going to talk to others in the industry to see what they suggest. ??? The old concrete driveway had been broken for years and had allowed a lot of water to puddle and crater under it. The cement pads used to rock when you drove on them. He used some of that concrete as "base" for the new driveway. He also had stone thrown down before paving but it wasn't enough and it wasn't given time to settle or compact. Then he repaved the driveway in asphalt. It sunk over the winter. Imagine what the summer heat is going to do?
Always something.
