Good evening ladies!
Barbie thanks for the new thread!
Today I ate a whole lot of calories. I meant to relax a little, but I overdid it. I got into the fancy cookies I bought to serve my aunt. I noticed they are due to expire so I ate a bunch. Anyway, I did my usual exercise plus an extra twenty five minutes on the bike, Yay! , And wound up with a tiny deficit of 22.
That's my second binge day out of fifteen days. I didn't realize it was that often. I got out of my routine today taking Teddy to the vet. But that's no excuse.
My usual speed on the bike is 14 or 15, depending on the music. I found out I am capable of a sprint of 20, but I can't keep that up very long. Still it could serve for a short interval.
Thanks for all the ideas about timing intervals.
You have given me a lot to work with.

Heather - What a show that must have been seeing the whales.
I love Mama Mia!
Barbie - I’m like you,I would prefer to be casual. My fussiness would probably make it so the casual dining was best. I wouldn’t have the clothes to wear to be formal except for the gown I wore at my daughter’s wedding.
I thought your friend buying the car was going to drive you to get the new one? Is that not happening now?
I weigh myself every morning. With all of this stress I have allowed my self to get only 3-4 lbs from my highest weight. I need to work on this.
Rebecca - Peanut Buster Parfait is the best! Mmmm
Simplistic is a much better word. . Gotta love the English language. That would be a lot to handle yourself I imagine, also hard to give up.
What is the name of the 3 part series on Bill Cosby and where is it streaming?
We use bagged salad too, we found lettuce so expensive and terrible, we were having to throw half out the day we bought it because it was bad.
I read an article that lettuce is going to become a rarity in Canada. 🤷♀️ who knows these things for sure?
Annie - I had it emailed to me so I have it.
You may have lots of excuses, but you’re still getting the job of losing weight done. I’m hoping for a restart in July since I’m hoping I can finally start healing from the stress.
Allie - you look wonderful! I love that you have two pictures of yourself in that swinging chair.
Rita - I hope July is much better for you. Such a relief for you with your son. Hopefully he gets far, far away.
LeeAnn - we just booked a campsite for the end of August. We were hoping for Aug 8 - 15 but there is a concert in the area we wanted to go and there are no sites available, so we are going two weeks later instead.
Rosemarie- My daughter taught me about body doubling after she was diagnosed with ADHD at age 32. Apparently this is a technique that works well with some sufferers of ADHD. This explained so much about her upbringing. The only time she was ever successful is if I was right there with her working too. So many arguments would never had happened if we had known about this.
I still go and help her organize her house from time to time.
Lanette - I always call my brother after meeting with a mechanic to see if I’m being lead down the right path. I would worry in your situation too. Glad it was not a lot of surprises though.
Pip - I love how you and Kirby are so dedicated. Nothing stops your exercise.
Welcome Jolene
Flea - what a great trip!
Michele - does the city own the ceramics shop? I hope they find someone, you will miss it.
Our shop owner does eyes too.
Hobbies are what keeps me going sometimes. I probably spend on average $30-$50 every two weeks on my various hobbies. DH’s hobbies are much more expensive. We have to calculate the cost of the sheds, they were started to use up wood and ended up having to buy a bunch more. I think it’s close to $1000 😮
Barbie - thank you again for a new month.
The Grands are coming tomorrow so we can attend some free Canada Day Festivities. 🍁🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦
I know pets don’t like them, but I love fireworks and I hope they aren’t going to be cancelled. It’s supposed to shower in the afternoon so it should be good.

It's easier for me to remember a name like Sally rather than xyj567v
Barbie in NW WA
It's funny ... I often remember numbers better than names. I have a terrible time remembering people's names. For a while, I figured everyone should just be given a number, it would be easier to remember.
Meanwhile, my husband was really good at remembering names until his accident. Since my husband's accident, I've worked much harder at remembering people's names so I could help him. It can be done ... memory can improve. But it is an uphill battle.
As an aside ... do you remember the Seinfeld episode where George thought the name Seven would be a good one for a girl?
We have a large Asian population here, so as far as I'm concerned, I'll attempt to remember all sorts of names including Quynh, Yi, Silpa, Reshmi, Priya, Li wei, Nguyên ... and Seven.

Hi everyone. Thank you for this chat Barbie. I can’t believe how fast June flew. Saw the sunrise through the trees. Went for another good walk 1.75 miles. Then went out for lunch and had an amazing view despite the smoke haze. Hope you are all well. LeeAnne from NY

June Highlights
June was a busy, chaotic month.
* I exercised most days, but had a few days off because of travel and injury. On the days I exercised, I cycled, walked, ran, gardened, rowed, lifted weights and climbed lots of stairs.
* We did manage to cycle a 50 km ride, but it took two tries this month.
* Injured left arm
* I lost another kg which isn't bad given that we were travelling and I usually gain weight during travel! So I'm 4 kg down from my high point in mid-April.
* Finished planting the native bushes in the garden bed I'm currently working on. And dug up about half the bulbs. I would be out there today digging up the rest, but I'm resting my arm.
* Attended 2 bee webinars.
* Attended a brain injury peer group meeting.
* Attended a cycling conference in Melbourne, Australia
* Visited an area we haven't been to in over 5 years.
* Flew for the first time in over 4 years.
* Lots of colouring and reading for pleasure.
* Reading the Bible every day.
* Did a little bit of work on the online course I'm taking from a university in Melbourne.
* So many meetings and webinars at work.
* Lots of medical appointments.
It was a month of running from one thing to the next.

Thanks for the new thread Barbie.
Happy Birthday Allie!
Everyone take care, Sue in WA0 -

Exercise
Cycling outside! 10C with a feels like temp of 3C.
Lettuce and other produce
The news tells us that it has been hard to get the usual variety of produce we were able to find in stores a few years ago. Evidently this area has had a shortage of potatoes and lettuce, but we weren't aware of it because we grow our own.
Hobbies
I just purchased a whole bunch more pens for my colouring on Friday. I got mostly blues and greens because I go through those ones quickly.
Happy Birthday Allie
Happy Canada Day!!

From the online Carer's magazine I get ... might be helpful to some ...
https://www.carergateway.gov.au/
If you're caring for someone, whatever the conditions are, be sure to contact your local carer organisations. You'll find them by doing a Google search.
Also look for your local organisations who specialise in the difficulty that the person you are caring for is going through. For example, I'm a member of the local Brain Injury Association and I follow the local Dementia and Stroke organisations because their advice is similar/related.

Good morning from the lake and from this little guy...6 -
Thank you, Barbie.
Happy birthday, Allie! Glad someone's celebrating you and that you are at a place you love, and able to take Alfie.
Flea - the boys look blissful. Looks like a really nice vacation for you all.
Rori - It was good to see your post. Once upon a time when my first husband was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, my office computers were shut down four or five times a week in late June, July and early August, as the thunderstorms popped up nearly every afternoon. Love storms, and it was always a nice break.
Heather - Looking forward to the pics once you get back to a reliable Internet connection!
Love all the pics - and welcome to those who are new! As Machka said, you've joined just by posting. We're glad you're here.
I'm in the usual Saturday morning quiet time while I let my DH sleep if he can. Long, hot week just gone by, and of course, he works in a massive metal shop building. The only A/C is in his office, and on the busy days, he barely gets any time to stay in there. He took himself to bed at 8:30 last night, he was so tired.
I'm pleased, as I held on to my maintenance weight this month, and am hovering between 145 and 150 (65/68 kg). At 5'2" (157cm) tall or thereabouts, I'm overweight by the BMI standards, but it's where I feel best. Got out yesterday morning when it was near 85 degrees, and worked using the walk-behind mower for a little over a half hour in the front. Was wringing wet with sweat when I got back in the house, and realized that would be because it had shot up to 95 degrees in a half hour. We're supposed to get a bit of a thunder boomer today, early afternoon, and keep the heat down a bit.
Hope it's a peaceful and serene weekend to all.
Cheers,
Lisa in AR

Happy July! I woke up this morning to see a hummingbird at the feeder on my window. It is raining here in Illinois and the rain is welcome after a dry spell. This is an area of farms and the corn field across the road is growing, and happy for a drink.

Tracey, Yes, my friend who is buying our Subaru is going to drive us to the car dealer in Seattle to buy the car, I just worked myself into a tizzy overnight because one of her emails said that we could borrow the Subaru back for a few days after she paid for it until we got a new car and I thought she was backing out on the commitment to drive us. That is one example of "my problems are mostly of my own making". In the morning Jake reassured me that the deal with her was contingent on her driving us to Seattle and then when I drove her to the eye doctor in the afternoon, she said the same thing. I work myself up and then suffer and emotional hangover the next day.
Barbara We probably won't get a red car because they are more expensive to buy new and fewer are available used so we'll end up with white, silver, gray, or black which will be fine.
Yardwork, meditation, reading, and TV are some of my treatments for emotional hangover.
Barbie in NW WA5 -
Barbie ... thank you for the new month! I'm hoping a red car is available and affordable for you!
Machka ... good reminders for care givers and anyone who is beginning to age. The non-skid bath mat has been an issue at my mom's assisted living facility. The shower pan is of poor design and nothing I purchased was able to grip (which I have discussed with the facility). Ended up buying water shoes with rubber treads and that seems to be helping. After suffering 2 major falls/breaks in a year, she is terrified of falling again will do anything to stay safe.
Not particularly confident in my scale, but I think I lost 2 pounds in June (or at least have stopped the upward creep). In July, I hope to extend my fasting to 21 hours per day with only a 3 hour window for eating ... 4:00-7:00. Since retiring from a physically demanding job, I discovered this week that I don't have the stamina I once did. Hope to remedy that by more intentional and consistent activity in July.
