Annie: I have pretty much given up on finding a bra that works. The straps on bras drive me crazy!
I went to my first WW meeting today. It was pretty good. One lady who has lost weight says she gets up every hour and does 500 steps. That is only about 5 minutes I think. I think I can make sure I do 500 steps an hour.
I ventured out to a town about 25 miles away this evening and sat in a field and listened to live music and watched the children play. It was the first time in 7 years...maybe longer that I have been able to celebrate July 4th by going to a concert. Very bittersweet. I am proud that I did this. The temptation is to just sit in the recliner.
Rosemarie - That WW meeting sounded good. I always loved hearing and reading the "success stories". Nice that you were able to go listen to live music and have an adventure.
Rebecca - great news about your son's next duty station. It sounds like it will all work out just fine for everybody. Whew. Sorry you were in the middle of the sister dispute but I'll bet both of them were glad you were there for a sounding board.
Heather - thank you for posting that map, it helps with following along on your journey. Hope your DH feels better soon. Your tango dancing partner sounded like fun. Great inspiration.
Tracey - glad Michaela didn't have serious injuries. You always have so much fun with the grands - how neat you live close to them and can participate in so many activities. I was lucky that my grandparents lived next door when I was a kid.
Kylia - wow, hope your tummy gets straightened out. Always scary with pain in that area. Interesting the food allergies we develop as we get older. Scary episode with your DH being stung and having to go to the ER. Did they say anything about an Epipen?
Lisa - Love that little mulberry, hope it does well for you.
I always like reading what you and Corey are up to, you such make a great team.
I got in a 5:30 am Safeway run this morning, they had everything on my list so I came home happy and well-stocked.
Hopped on the mower at around 9 and clipped most of the dandelions in the front lawn. Going to leave the back yard go for a while - something for the bunnies to eat. As I was "bouncing along" I remembered Lisa's trick of wearing 2 bras. I don't have a huge about to bounce but still I think it would be better to keep the girls under control, lol.
The 4th of July Firecracker enthusiasts were really busy last night. Rosie was disturbed so climbed into bed with me. She made me hot and crowded me, lol, but at least she wasn't agitated. I had a great nap after lunch so I think I'm caught up.
I realized I have one more big maintenance job on the Subaru - timing belt. It should have been replaced at 105,000 miles and the car just turned over 113,000 miles this morning, so it's on borrowed time. Will call around to several repair places this week and get it scheduled. Would be great to find one with a "shuttle" that will bring me home when I leave the car and come get me when it's done so I don't have to bother my friend or the neighbors. But, it's great to know I have folks ready and willing to help me. I appreciated the conversation last week about receiving, it's good to hear that.

Since I’m working next Thurs. when I was planning to do Tony Horton’s cardio & yoga DVD and the Turbo Band DVD today. Then went to Food Lion (it’s a mile from my house) and then to WalMart. Made the banana bread, only the recipe has you make it in a tube pan. I think next time I’ll use loaf pans. Then cut the grass. Afterwards, went in the pool and it really wasn’t refreshing at all.
Tracey – so glad Michaela is better. How scary for you!
Heather – here’s hoping Johnny gets better fast.
I just realized that we won’t be going to ceramics this week so the pie I made for the gal at ceramics, Vince can have and I’ll just have to make another one next weekend. Update: he's not crazy about it because its "grainy". Sigh.....

Just found out that the husband of one of my cousin’s died earlier in June. They’re having a memorial service for him the day of our pool party. I feel so bad, but it can’t be helped.
Kylia – what ordeals you’ve had! So glad to hear you’re better (even if not perfect)
Debbie – how nice that you’ve asked people to visit your mother. Maybe this will awaken her to the fact that this roommate isn’t the best?

OMG. I have hit my limit. Snorkeling today, six different stops. Manatee, sharks, rays, shipwreck, conch graveyard, coral, fish, fish, and more fish. I can barely put two words together. My son took dozens of pictures.

Good evening ladies!
Today is day 17 of my sister challenge, but it's Sunday and I normally take it easy on Sunday. I ate 1401 calories, and instead of resting, I did three sessions on my bike, totaling sixty five minutes. Yay! So I ate back my calories, or rather exercised off what I had eaten, for a final deficit of twenty. Yay! Just fine for a Sunday, but I better eat less tomorrow.
I tried Halo Top strawberry sorbet today. It's a little tart, full of chemicals and not as good as strawberry ice cream. There's a cashew milk dairy free that is high calorie but creamy and much more satisfying to me. But if my weigh-in isn't better this week, there will be no ice cream for me.
My dad lost his hearing aid, which is quite expensive. We pulled the cushions off the couch, and looked everywhere we could think of. Maybe it will turn up tomorrow. He loses it once a week or so, but usually we find it again.
We have severe thunderstorms tonight.

Hi Gals,
It’s been busy 2 weeks ago I spent 4 days visiting my BFF in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. She and her DH have many acres with a home built for entertaining as well as 6 cottages on the property for family/friends to stay in when visiting. It is a great set up. There is a pool, hot tub, pool room, fire pit and each cottage has a full bath and a mini fridge and coffee bar so all can have time together or just down time. I totally enjoyed my time, her DH was visiting his brother so she and I could talk and talk, then she and I cleaned all the cabins and restocked as Saturday (yesterday) 15 of the family gathered to celebrate the patriarch’s 95th birthday. So I went back up to be with “Dad” and the family to celebrate. It was great to see everyone and to enjoy being together. Back home this evening and I will work tomorrow and on the 4th to catch up on all the embroidery that did not get done while I was playing.
Luckly my BFF has air conditioning as it was 104-106 yesterday/today, it was in the mid-90’s at my home, with no air conditioning, it is hard to feel like accomplishing anything in that heat. Tomorrow down to the high 80’s and then continuing to have the temp get closer to normal as the week goes on.
On Friday my mom had been home for 4 weeks decided that it is not working. She is constantly exhausted. I am not surprised she will not allow help of any kind and is keeping a large home (2700 sq foot) clean, and the acre yard kept up. We have had lots of conversations about the need to do it all herself and she really feels her worth is dependent on a tidy yard and an immaculate home (she moves furniture to clean baseboards at least 6 times a year) . Yet she has very little company and most folks would not check behind the dresser to see if the baseboards are clean. She is willing to look at senior living, moving and selling the house. I am putting my foot down on how much I will do for her and that it will not happen on her schedule. It will happen on my schedule, without her staying here for more than one night here or there, and only because having her stay makes it easier on ME. I did look at a place I knew about, and it is pricy but very nice, and I think if she can go in with the right attitude she could be very happy there. And when you compare the cost of the existing home with utilities, and all the other “house” bills to this set up it is not as crazy as it seems at first glance. Still more but there are services she doesn’t have like a cleaning crew, and free van transportation to all the daily “stuff”
Sorry this is so long… just knew I had not done much of an update in a while.

Heather - I hope Johnny recovers quickly, but not quick enough to allow you a quieter day. 😉 What a beautiful area of the world you are travelling.
Annie - I had a chuckle over the visual you created of being trapped in Lycra.
Machka - I need to do a day of cleaning as well. It is cool today, for the first time in a few weeks, so I may make some banana bread and clean.
Our furnace came on this morning.
I do a lot of puttering when commercials come on too.
I need to be more active and watch more shows with commercials.
Lisa - thank you for the picture of the mulberry tree. Those berries are pretty.
Barbie - I admire how you and Jake eat and handle your groceries. I bet you have saved money in the long run shopping this way.
Joy - thank you for your encouragement. My Grandson and I may go buy some seeds today.
I would be up in the cable car too, DH would be waiting on the ground for me.
Kylia - I hope things get back in shape soon. What a terrible thing to have to deal with.
Debbie - I hope your Mom allows you and your sister to get that roommate out. You might need to be there for a bit to help her do it. I would worry about how she might be abusing her.

Rebecca - I hate being in the middle of family squabbles. I hope they can sort it out and you are left unscathed.
Lanette - I grew up beside my maternal grandparents. As a grandmother I try to do for my Grands what she did for me. I loved her for her kindness, her generosity, her love. They always made sure we had fun things to do and helped my parents with clothing, back to school stuff and such. I try to emulate her. My DH told me one time that she was looking down being proud of me. It was one of the best compliments he could ever have given me.
I hope you’re able to get the next repair done on your car quickly and efficiently.
I too am enjoying all of the word art. I need to get onto the computer and do mine.
Jolene - I didn’t notice your house wasn’t level, but mine would be crooked in real life so it’s all good.
Flea - I would be beat too.
Kim - If anyone deserves a nice holiday with a friend it’s you. I’m so happy for you that you had that break.
I hope that your mom listens and makes the move she would be taken care of there I bet.
Jonah has decided to spend a few nights, he was planning on staying Monday and Tuesday anyway so he just stayed from last night. His parents are dropping clothes off for him on the way to taking Michaela to camp tomorrow. (She is having no ill effects from her incident last night. She even got up to go to Sunday School and church today with Daddy).
Tonight he was having an online chat with one of his school friends. They started singing “Staying Alive”, decided it would be a terrible funeral song. Then kept up with their theme. They went into “Another One Bites the Dust” ending with “Highway to He🏒🏒”.
They are 11, so of course thought they were hilarious.
I didn’t do much today I was pretty tired after yesterday, I did get the house tidied though.

Well Alfie woke up and wanted to go out..Thanks alfie for waking me at midnight.
I think I might go home today ..I still have a scratchy throat and just dont want to stay in the house.they have been good about going out on the porch to smoke but..between the smoke coming down from Canada and the 3 of them smoking its been a bit much..
Stuffed peppers for dinner last night and strawberry shortcake again yum yum..
Im going to try and get some more sleep ..
Its a 4 1/2 hr ride home..4
