Machka-agree with you about .jpg. Also as new technologies come out there are typically conversion programs if needed.
Take care all,

Just checked, out of curiosity, and jpgs came along in 1992 so they're 31 years old!!
I've been working with them nearly all that time. In 1996, I learned AutoCAD and also worked with images as part of an Engineering Tech qualification. Starting in 1997, I got a job in an Engineering office and one of the jobs I did was to digitise the office ... converting all the paper drawings etc. to computer. We converted most to tiffs, but some things we converted to jpgs.
Long time ago, yet feels like only yesterday!

Machka- we all know it..But to face it is a whole other ballgame
Tracy got pregnant at 18,with Carmine.
My friend Trudy had a baby at 15 my aunt let me know when I was in Tennessee that she had a baby at 15 and put it up for adoption.

Good Thursday,
Welcome to the new ladies!
My mountain vacation in TN is now 2 weeks long! Not until September but the countdown has started 🤪 We will tow down the miata again-fun! And am hoping to spend one day at Dollywood. We usually add one new activity each year. I am not a rides person, but love the shows and shops. Who knows may even ride one or two. Generally we walk lots, eat twice a day, and probably drink too much once at cabin. Even though I usually have sone work to do while gone, I do it sitting on the deck in a bathrobe, with coffee, listening to nature! Definitely my second home.
So yesterday....I finally took time to set up the new computer we got at shop in the springtime.....not good as computer is broke. Part of me knew I should have set up earlier, but haven't had time. Now get to deal with that. DH asked what happens now. I told him once I have receipt from SIL, I will have to take it to best buy. Not anything else I can do. Won't make that mistake again. Really need to keep my head in the game. Still trying to figure out how to assert my needs and changes needed especially at work. I am such a people pleaser and hate conflict.
Congratulations to the new babies on the way.
Congratulations to the losers 😉! I am "maintaining" between 124-127. Goal is 115, but haven't had the energy to put the effort in, so am happy to be maintaining where I am. It took me years to get out of 130's. I have been to goal twice in the past 10 years, but then self sabotage (get lazy). I am in healthy BMI so not overly concerned, but feel my best under 120. I am 5'2" and petite frame.
I need to get ready for work.
I love reading about all the going ons in your lives. You do inspire me to be the best me. Now to figure out how to do that......
Much ❤️!
Make the best choices you can at the moment!
I just remembered I have a doctor appointment in an hour!!!!!

Good morning ladies!
I have an old hard drive with all my old photos on it, but I'm not sure it would work anymore. There are pictures of my ex-husband and estranged daughter, so I really don't want to look at them anyway.
I'm fighting a grumpy attitude this morning. My Mom's plastic pill box is missing. And my dad seems to have a really loud new alarm at 6:15.
But more than that, I feel bad for my poor dog. His eye is all battered after the eyelid surgery. And his collar is such a nuisance. I fed him wet food with a spoon. So sad, and I haven't done his meds yet.
Well, he will get better. Although it may take months for his hair to grow in, but that's only cosmetic.

Love y'all,

That comment was in relation to Time Minimalism ... not having deadlines, things I need to do, attend, etc. Sometimes I wish I were retired and living a life where I didn't have to do things.
But Opportunity came along!
I'm referring to my current job ... the one I was offered just before Christmas and started at the end of March. I'm really getting into it. It's a lot of work and I'm quite busy, but I'm enjoying the challenge. I'm also being given learning opportunities - courses, learning what other areas are doing, the freedom to read documents and attend webinars. And I'm in workgroups and on committees. It's all very interesting and kind of exciting.
Yes, there's pressure and deadlines, etc., but right now, that's OK.

Tracey: Good news about Kaitlin. I don’t mind you sharing the poem with the copyright on it. It’s nice to know so many people enjoyed it.
My habit for Augustviscto write a poem a day.
Heather: My keystone habit is looking for how I can benefit or learn from every event good or bad.

I get up early every day so I have the time for my morning routine before I have to be somewhere. My routine includes brief dog walk, dog feeding, breakfast, spiritual reading, and reading this thread. I follow it with a long walk with dog, friend, and alone. By getting up at 4:30, I am able to accomplish all of that and be dressed and ready to talk to Jake and be at an event online easily by 9::00.

Hi everyone
I would love to join this discussion. I went through some the the earlier posts and found them very inspirational.
Barbie "The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of non-essentials." - that's a wonderful quote. I have been trying to follow it too.

Thursday ... last day of work this week.
I accomplished what I set out to do at work this week plus a little bit more.
Had my annual Gynaecologic-Oncologist appointment today to check my female organs cancer situation. Everything looks normal! Yay! I've had 2 surgeries + treatment (2015 and 2017) for that, and thankfully I've been normal since 2017. He says if I'm normal next year, I won't need to continue with the annual checks.
I also found out what the "other things" in my knee are about. I've got chondromalacia in the patellofemoral compartment (kneecap area) and in the lateral compartment (outside of the knee). Chondromalacia happens when cartilage inside a joint softens and breaks down.
This does not surprise me. My knees have been well used and have experienced a lot of trauma from time to time. The MRI was only on my right knee, but I say "knees" because it would not surprise me if I had this in both knees. When doing things like cycling and running, I tend to use both legs.

Today’s (8/3) gratitude: baby hummingbird visiting feeder.
Welcome @S66S Savi from India and @lisa032722 Lisa D. Would you let us know your general locale so we can keep you straight in our minds from Lisa in AR?
Annie would love to see pics of your fiber art. (gentle hugs) for poor Teddy.
Beth thankful for the clear margins. Glad you got some good news to offset the other. Can you talk to DH’s “friend” about the potential damage he’s doing?
Heather Maybe Edie gets her magical energy from you?
Michele any good news from the sleep MD?
Pip, yay Addison!!!
Tracey for your friend. Back in the bad old days, Joe took a vacation on which I was NOT invited. He at least told me where he planned to go. Is there any hope her DH would join her at couple's counseling? Thankful for Kaitlyn’s good news. How old is your GS and why did he need rescuing?
Machka the “First I…” meme made me smile. I’m impressed that you’re getting into working with workgroups and committees. Brava! What is the treatment for your knees?
Lisa in AR your welcome message to Savi and LisaD. Perfect! Was likewise intrigued by Machka’s “Opportunity” post…
Kylia good luck at the doctor!

Good morning everyone, Levi ended up showing symptoms of a sever ear infection at 11pm last night. He has lots of ear infections (long haired floppy ear dog) and while I trim the hair and try to keep everything clean and dry - some times they show up out of the blue. And he was in so much agony that we went to the emergency Vet. finally home in bed about 1am - I had been up at that point for 22 hours. I am too old for that nonsense! (Although I did plenty of all nighters in my younger days) I have an appointment at 9am so am up and getting breakfast and coffee into us. Levi seems much better this morning. They flushed his ears out and there was assorted debris but no fox tails and the ear drum is in good shape. so that was all good. It is going to take an early night or a nap to make up for the missing sleep. !

We will get all the beds ready today. Max can sleep on the convertible in DH's study. There's going to be a lot of laundry!
I'm going to ask them to bring their breakfast cereals, as they all like different things. Must get extra milk, and goats milk for Bea.
I think pizza from Pizzzaface on Friday night with green salad. Frankfurters on Saturday lunchtime with pitta bread and salad. I think I'll make a beef and red wine stew for Saturday night. Most of them will eat that. I'll ask about sides. I would normally do mashed potato, but I'm not sure the kids like it.
I'm sure they are all stressed out as ****. Moving is always hard, and, as they have a week in between, knowing what to take with you etc etc ..... for five people. The furniture will be piled in the house somewhere. Enough to do your head in!
They are going on to her parents afterwards.
I think I should just offer them a calm refuge. It's no good me stressing out as well.
It's DH's veg and fruit shopping day today. I will also have to shop today. Lists, lists, lists. My son and Edie are GF.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxxx
Awe, welcome to my world..... I think we have moved about 20 times, but only 3 of them were with all five of us. It will all work out. You be their anchor of calmness. Let them feed off you mentally. (Too zen?😁). Well, know what you wish to have, and what's needed for them staying. Maybe have a couple of choices, and let them choose. Most importantly, appreciate them, and love on them. For the many of us ladies that don't get to, due to circumstances, or distance away.💖👍🤗

My son volunteered to go on a work furlough in early June. He did so because many of his c0-workers have kids and house payments. He goes back to work next Monday; he needs a change of scenery and I need some alone time. Rather than cause discord, I've been eating alot; to the point where I become so lethargic. And of course I feel like I'm back to square one so new month and back to basics. Moving forward toward success.

Last night was weird. At one point I could have swore our tall tree that is in the front of the house was being shaken by some teenagers! I heard them talking. Then my mind cleared for a second and everything was quiet. I believe my mind was playing tricks on me. Or its the effect of Wellbutrin. Possibly the pint of beer. She did say not to combine. I didn't even occur to me not to. The fact that none of my meds so far had that warning, it just wasn't in my mind. So, glad I don't partake in a drink, except when I go out at a restaurant, it will be fairly easy to remember. "NA beer is best" is my new mantra.
Today mailing sons box, a box to my sister and mailing a bunch of photos to my cousin in Montenagro. All that cost will bite into my budget for grocery shopping. I think the only "inner food isle" shopping is a bag of purple healthy chips, and small jar of spaghetti sauce. I will have some opening my eating window, with hummus I have. Today though, I will have taco salad for my meal. So my chips are the first layer of that.😁💖.
Today buying:
Cabbage, tomatoes, mushrooms, strawberries, peaches, zucchini
I pre made a bunch of fish and rice containers, so adding cabbage or salad with those. Sharing a breakfast meal with husband. Making some sort of pasta meal with the spicy Italian meatballs, twirl pasta, mushrooms, onion, and zucchini. (my favorite meal).
Husband writes a menu out so its easy to fix his meal, just look of the fridge door. I like the spontaneity of choice. So I either take a frozen meal out the night before or wing it. Putting a menu up for me is too like a diet plan so that's "diet brain" thing I steer away from big time.
Welcome new members! Stop by and see us a couple of times a week. We look forward to hearing from you! Our group moves fast. Unless you check in daily, you see we are at a pace that can be 3 to 4 pages a day. Don't get discouraged by that. We have been friends for awhile now, so we are truly up in each others business! (in a good way💖😁). We are all sisters, meeting each other at a coffee house. We sit at the middle table, all talking at the same time, and people stare but we smile and say cheers to them!
With each friend that comes in, we all cheer and continue chatting. (that's how my mind sees this group).
Enjoy the day all!

Machka - I meant the technology of how to see them. I have two hard drives with pictures on them that I need someone to be able to get off. I have thumb drives some are outdated and I don’t know how to retrieve those either. I also have cd’s. I want to go through them all and actually print some. I also find that it’s harder to find a picture when we want one. For instance when Rodger’s dad passed we couldn’t find some pictures of him because we did know which SIM card/cd it was on. I find it more difficult.
Heather - it will be a busy weekend for you, but I bet it will be fun.
Ginny - there is probably some rule in their tickets that when it says cancel it’s bumped to priority.
Lisa - Thank you. I try. For the window washer, I filled a bucket with hot water and vinegar. I did my 8 windows in about 1/2 an hour, I’m sure your son would be up for it.
Allie - Wise words from Lisa’s Corey about teens.
I put my parent through He🏒🏒. I know I did. I probably caused many a sleepless night. I truly believe though that if they had tried to control me more than they did we wouldn’t have had the long long relationship we had/have. My Dad was one of my best friends when he let me make decisions on my own. It must have taken a lot for him to allow me to quit school at 16, have a boyfriend stay over, me stay at a boyfriend’s house, he knew I had a drink here and there. (I wasn’t and still don’t drink much). I never tried pot until I was almost 30. He never punished me, he helped me be safe. He would come pick me and my friends up, no lectures or groundings afterwards, he bought my birth control pills and he held me when my first serious relationship ended.
I learned from him that I had to be supportive of my girls, even when they made terrible decisions. My goal was to raise them to be beautiful, functional members of society and I wanted to have a lifelong relationship with them. There were times I cried myself to sleep worrying about school, was one of them being careful and using protection when she was with her boyfriend, was the other one partying too much. I was able to have open and honest conversations with them because my Dad had taught me how. Now I consider my girls among my best friends.
I hope Tracy and Kyle ease up a bit and don’t end up alienating Carmine altogether. It would be a shame, because they sure do love her or they wouldn’t be fighting this hard to save her.
Kylia - I sure hope that you have a wonderful vacation. September will be here before we know it. I would love to go to Dollywood.
Annie - I hope your day gets better. Poor Teddy.
Barbara - they have had counselling off and on for years, both individually and as a couple. He is narcissistic, the last therapist she had told her he will never change and she had to decide what to live with. She knows she should leave, but at this point is concerned about her financial status. She did go see a lawyer a month or two ago to see what she could expect. She did not work much because they moved around for his career. She also is on medical disability so can’t work now.
My grandson will be 12 in September, he and I share a birthday. I thought it was cool the night he was born, it just brings to light how I’m aging now. 😂
He has attended this camp since birth with his parents. A couple of years ago he had a near drowning incident and won’t go near the water now. That limits the activities available. His friends that he usually hang with aren’t there this week and there aren’t any that are his age that really click. There are older boys and younger boys. His parents just didn’t want to see him miserable so asked if we would go get him. I am going to see if a friend of his can get together on Saturday to hang out.
Kim - so glad that Levi’s ear wasn’t damaged and he is doing better.
Hope you get a nice nap in.
Rebecca - I am on Wellbutrin and have a drink occasionally with no side effects. Maybe you would be ok after you’ve been on them for a while. Either way, I’m sure it was the mix.
It’s a cloudy day today, I have my first team meeting at 1 for my course. It’s orientation. I think after that I am going to go get my hair cut. It has been bugging me for a bit now.
Tracey in Edmonton7 -
Tracey ... nope, husband will not hire anyone to finish the siding. However, I did convince him to hire a landscaper if the yard is a mess after the drainage excavator leaves! And, he's seriously considering hiring an electrician when it comes time to pull the main electric service from the house to reside underneath it. So, there are some small wins here. As for the friend who is pushing him along ... we talked yesterday. I think he'll be watching a little more closely now.
Beth9 -
Beth--I agree when doing work on the house, one thing leads to another. I want to replace carpet and then I want to paint and the idea of moving stuff to do it overwhelms me and therefor I space it off. But I told DH this fall we need to just do one room at a time. Good luck with the siding and sounds like DH needs to admit he needs to hire someone to finish. Great news on the dermatology report.
Heather--Your art is so telling and I so enjoy seeing it. Thanks for sharing.
Katla--I agree this humidity is terrible. I have such a hard time everytime I have to go outside. Glad I work inside.
Pip--Sounds like things are going well with Addison. I pray she keeps it up and is able to come back so that she has your support.
Tracey--Great news about Kaitlyn and baby. Sending prayers. I am like you I love to look at pictures and share. I did go to Hobby Lobby last evening and get a couple photo storage boxes. They say they hold 1000 pictures each. They were having a good sale, half price, so plan to go tonight and get 10 more and then get started. Have almost 65 years of pictues and over 50 of my family since my son was born. Grand kids like to look at them and when they have a occastion they come to me for pictures.
I do think my foot is slowly getting better. I just need to stay off of it more. Hard to do at work.
Thanks for all the positive comments about my granddaughter. She is such a happy independent girl. But this fighting her parents are doing is hard. She did enjoy the party and has thanked us several times.
Time to work on the next schedule and see how it goes with 2 people requesting vacations. One day at a time.
Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND, NE6 -
Good morning, ladies.
Tracey, wonderful news about Kaitlyn and the baby. Good luck with your orientation this afternoon.
We didn't get any hail but two thunderstorms rolled through last night and got about another inch of rain. We really don't need anymore rain.
Made a batch of buns yesterday and have another one set up and rising this morning. Working on laundry too today so busy morning. Feels very humid here so may turn on a/c this afternoon as I'm sure I will be heating up the house with the oven on for my buns.
Enjoy the day.
Joy3 -
Machka - I'm thrilled for you that you have a position you really enjoy and can advance your learning. And that you share tidbits of what you learn with us.
Keystone habits - I know I have some that revolve around starting the day right, kind of like Barbie's. Coffee, feeding the dog, cat and chickens, reading emails and catching up on this thread. Getting my sunrise walk in.
I've added filling in my daily chart from the previous day. I posted some of the categories a week or so ago: hours of sleep, what activities/exercise I accomplished, macros. Just data, not specifically goals. Being able to evaluate what's working and contributing to better health for me.
By the way, I weighed myself this morning after a couple cups of coffee. Then I weighed my coffee mug empty and full. 12 ounces of liquid. 2 cups of coffee, if I hadn't used the restroom lately, was 1.5 lbs.
Got my Subaru back yesterday afternoon. I think they did a good job on it. I'm supposed to bring it back after 200 miles of driving and they'll check the fluid levels on both oil and antifreeze and also that little gasket leak.
The young man they who drove the shuttle van out to pick me up has chickens! We compared chicken stories all the way back to the shop. So I arrived in a good mood and grateful to get my car back. The bill ended up being less than the original quote and there's a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty on their work, which is a bonus.
So, I've decided the auto shop is OK. I just need to remember that they are NOT good at giving the customer updates, despite reassuring me they would, and that the job will take at least twice as long as what they promised.
Maybe it's that way at most businesses now. The last three customer service guys I've dealt with in their 30's and 40's - all have lacked communication and customer service skills. Is it a guy thing or a kid thing? Or both?
Example - I wasn't told when the drum auction was taking place, the roofing guys showed up without letting me know ahead of time, and now the car updates. All in all, though, no harm done and everything worked out fine.
Busy morning, I want to get this posted. Welcome new ladies!

Vicki - It's so great that you are close to your granddaughter. It's so important while her parents are fighting.
Beth - great news about the margins. So sorry about the unexpected expenses. Boo! And MEN! What are they like! I work on the principle of only saying it once, and letting them take the consequences. Unfortunately, we get landed with the results. Grrrr!
My friend L has problems with her ears and her eyes. Lots of appointments. Plus she is now feeling nauseous. I said I would phone her this afternoon, but she wasn't feeling well enough. Unfortunately, tomorrow will be busy for me. She lost her partner18 months ago and has no children. Only a bereaved and childless sister who visited recently and is a very heavy drinker. I think L is beginning to worry about her old age. She is 73.
I think an old friend is visiting soon. She does get very down.
Did the shopping, apart from meat. There's time tomorrow. Stripped beds, made up one. Washed a sheet for Max. I'm fairly calm. I will concentrate on just being relaxed and welcoming.
Much love to all and welcome to the new people!

DH's daughter's book is out today. It's called 'Dance Deception', by Becky Ward. It arrived today by pre-order. She doesn't want her dad to read it as it's got a lot of sex in it! He will, though.
Tonight she is having a drink or two with friends in London to celebrate the launch. We aren't going, but I sent my best wishes. We are a bit too old for evening drinking in London.
I'm sure it's out on Kindle, so if you want a thrill, you can buy it.... I haven't looked at it yet.

Just finished the section on organizing paperwork in Organized Well Enough. My system is similar to many of her suggestions. It is just a case of spending a few minutes a day to maintain. She did talk about what to keep like tax returns and money spent on home improvements. Having a filing cabinet and system to file to find papers does help. Many things can be found online now so many articles and recipes do not need to be kept. How you decide to organize papers can be a template for how to organize your digital info. I do find I do like the search feature on my e-mails so I usually can find things quickly. I do need to unsubscribe from a number of sites to keep from having to do so many deletions.
I did like her suggestion of not having so many shoes by the front door. It made me clean out the bottom of the hall closet. It made me realize many things did not belong there and took up valuable space like a leaf to our dining room table. Some old vinyl records of DH.
The take away for me as I look at spaces in our home is how can I make the space more functional for how we live now. Like Barbie said remove the nonessential. I am really starting to enjoy the process. I went through a bathroom cabinet and realized I have not used those loofa sponges I bought 5 years ago. I bought them because they reminded me of my dad. He grew loofa. I use an Epson salt scrub. Out they went to the give away pile. Loofa was his thing not mine.
To me a red flag is if it takes more than 5-10 minutes to find something you need or you go out and buy a new one because you do not find said something you need then it is time to look at how you and if not living alone your loved ones use your space. What you use everyday needs to get the prime spaces. I do agree with her taking those extra minutes to put something back in its spot so it is ready for the next time is part of the process. If you share a space that is where labeling a space can be very helpful. Yes it takes time to set up the system but from what she observed in the long run the house is happier because things run more smoothly.
Beth I feel for you on your project. Glad you are getting more help to finish it. Sometimes you just need to hire someone. DH and I try to do what we can. We do know our limits and have hired a number of people over the years to do jobs and sometimes routine maintenance like gutter cleaning.3 -

That's encouraging! There's not any I like that's NA, well none I have tried and liked. I don't drink stout beer, but light even sparkling IPA beers or Stellas.

Beth DH and I try to do what we can. We do know our limits and have hired a number of people over the years to do jobs and sometimes routine maintenance like gutter cleaning. [/quote]
I would absolutely love to hire someone to clean the gutters but living in a small rural area, it is just not possible.

Someone suggested going on a tour of your house including garage, basement, and attic and looking in every box, drawer, cupboard, and closet and finding out what you have and where it is. Then consider what you don't need and if there is a better place to put things.
Tracey It sounds like the thing you need to do with your photos is buy a high capacity thumb drive and gather all the jpgs and put them in one place. Then you can scan other photos and add them to the collection and label them so you can find and sort them more easily.
👀🌞I went to the eye doctor today and found that my eyes haven't changed much since last year. Next year may be the year for cataract surgery. The eye clinic is at Costco so Jake shopped while I saw the doctor. He shops from a list that we make together so there were no surprises
