Morning everyone
Got in a 12K/7.5M (09"06)
Nice day in London today!
Hope you all have a nice weekend.
@AlphaHowls the snake though... 😱6 -
14.5 miles this morning. It was a rough one. But it helped that the 1st 8 or 9 miles were before the sun showed it's ugly head 🌞🥵
Still, it was 88F and felt like running in soup.

@Laurz9191 WOW. That picture of the waterfall is amazing! That was a great memorial for your grandparents. Sounds like you had a wonderful trip and love the descriptions of your 3 yo on your back. Next time you are in the states, ask for a side of mayonnaise. They should give that to you. I don't know why they wouldn't. I had a friend that mixed mayo and mustard together for his fries. He finally talked me into tasting it and it was really good.
@AlphaHowls Those adventures with animals are crazy. The mouse on my chest in the middle of the night would have freaked me out the most. I used to be really terrified of mice, to the point of having Musophobia. I have gotten better over the years, but they are still my nemesis. I had an infestation about 4 years ago and even found one inside my washing machine! I'm not sure how it got in there with the door closed, but it did! Snakes are a close second, but I am getting much better about them too. I just don't want them in my house. If they aren't poisonous and are outside, they are fine and interesting to watch. I have had a few of them in my house too. I guess it's the price you pay for living in the middle of the woods.
You are doing great @yirara .
@shanaber That does sound like Hobbes and the raccoon were playing with each other. It must have been a sight though.
I hope Hilary is nice to all of our California friends. @shanaber @chris_in_cal and anyone else I have forgotten.
@Scott6255 I don't know how you did it! You are amazing!

Today it was so humid that it rained. Only ran 3km, but was totally soaked and dripping when I finished. Yikes. But this time I only walked 3 minutes and ran 22. Wanted to do intervals: 10 minutes warm-up, then 2min fast, 2 min slow, 4 min fast, 4 min slow, 3 min, 2 min, cooldown. Stopped after the three minute fast.5 -

Within the first mile I knew the plan for today’s run was going to have to change. It felt hard today for no particular reason. I wanted to just turn around but knew I would regret that so I decided this run was going to be about time on my feet and let the rest go. I walked a lot of the hills and generally slowed down. I felt like it was important to get the mileage in as this is the last long run of a serious distance before my HM. I think a little taper will do me some good. Next week is a bit lighter so I’ll see how I feel after that. I am glad I did it and now I get to chill on the couch and binge tv.7 -

I just watched "Mrs. Davis," I like weird but it was almost too weird for me...qualified thumbs up, for the weird connoisseurs only.2 -
Morning everyone!
Got in a 10K (08"54).
Have a lovely Sunday
PS: hope Texans are okay in the extreme heat and Cali peeps are okay from the storm!
I'm off to eat my body weight in Churascarria (sp?)8 -
OMG, I just realized that I only need to run some 22km more this month to get the dreaded Garmin 80.5km running badge! Oh no! Next weekend there's a badge for running 10km. Note: I only started running again this month and barely managed 7km with run/walks8
-
@yirara Humidity can be so hard to run in, esp. if it is hot too. You did great. You are doing great with your mileage this month.
Way to get in those miles @martaindale ! When is your HM? I hope you got to rest and binge TV watch as planned.
Nice run @tarun_yadavA . I had to Google Churrascaria . Looks awesome. Enjoy.

Sept 9. Taper ended up being longer than I would usually do because I have to work next weekend. Usually that would have been my last long run. But, this is a fun race so the taper is mostly to preserve the train-race cycle in my head. I haven't really been training, all easy runs through the summer but no point in ignoring the taper. Lower running weeks are important for recovery.7 -

63.24km/80.5km - 17.26 left
Still warm, but not so humid anymore. But three days running is a bit too much. Noticed this today. Alternated 400m running with 150m walking. Up from 350m running, which I did on 16.8. Now a big bowl of cherries.
Oh yes, I did add a goal for this month now. I want to get to 80.5km. Btw, my summer vacation also starts at the end of the month, thus likely no running then. Lets see.

90.89/125 miles completed for August
I intended to get out before the sun was up, but I didn't get to bed until after midnight and I just wasn't ready to get up that early. I did head out for my run a few minutes after 7:00 am, which was just after sunrise and was the coolest part of the day. It was 78°F according to my weather app and I was able to find good amounts of shade. I saw a jackrabbit in the cemetery and a great blue heron at the creek. I was enjoying the run, and for some reason I decided that instead of my usual 10 miles I would go for a half marathon, so I ended up with 13.15 miles. It was pretty warm by the end at 90°F, and the last mile was tough, but once I made it to 12 miles I couldn't give up until I made it to 13.1. I also had new shoes, so I had to give them a nice inaugural run. 😊

@AlphaHowls - love that barn!
No workout for me but an interesting day... historic CA tropical storm, rain, wind and to top it all off a 5.1 earthquake!5 -
If I were running and needing shoes I would totally consider getting these from Topo Athletic!
