Barbie - Sorry to hear Jake is in the hospital, but so glad they found the infection and can get him treated.
Rebecca - what sweet pictures of Eli and Athena.
Bare feet - I am always bare footed. I really don’t like anything on my feet. In the summer I will walk out into our yard barefooted. In winter I manage to put footwear on outside, but again am bare in the house.
Kelly - I am so excited for your daughter and family to be moving closer to you. What a wonderful time you will have with your grandsons.
I understand your daughter’s struggles working at a desk is what did me in as well.
Like others, my weight is up right now. I had been doing well but got lazy again. I need to keep it up.
Rita - glad to hear your son is doing better, I hope he makes some changes to his lifestyle as well.
Kylia - I would love to try zip lining.
I had a lovely birthday one of my former coworkers surprised me with lunch at Olive Garden, DH came home with a bouquet. I am excited to turn 55, I’ll now get the seniors discount at Michael’s.
I made a couple to hang in my living room window for the Fall season.
Ceramics tonight. I finished the project I was working on
Tomorrow I have a doctors appointment. Hopefully my last for a while.

Happy birthday Tracey! Your projects show real talent! Very nice.
Heather hope you feel better soon!
Rori how nice to hear from you!
Kylia glad the Zipline was fun. I enjoyed it when I tried it, despite my fear of heights. It helps that I was securely tied in the whole time. Sounds like you are having a great time!

Barbie - so happy to hear Jake is on the mend. Hope he can come home soon so you can get back to your normal routine.
Kylia - way to go ziplining, glad your DH enjoyed it too. Close call not getting drenched.
Tina - thank you for sharing those photos, what beautiful country! Sorry the missionaries were a downer. My DH liked it warmer than I do but 78f is too hot for me, especially at night. Whew!
Rosemarie - I am so glad to hear you are feeling better. A trip to the coast sounds just wonderful.
Kim and Beth - thinking of you and those Medicare billing messes. Hope they are getting cleared up.
Heather - sounds like you are feeling a bit better, I love hearing about the "little things" (like holding hands) you and your DH do that are so important in a relationship as we grow older.
Rita - happy to hear your son is doing better and crossing fingers he is able to stay healthy.
Rori - I have been wondering how things were going with your new friend. It's wonderful to hear that he's bringing happiness and excitement into your life and I'm sure you are doing the same for him.You know if you want to share details at some point, we are all ears!
Tracey - your ceramics are so beautiful. You are loved and what a nice birthday!
Had an eventful and busy day yesterday.Took the Camry in for an oil change, they checked the cabin filter and found a huge mouse nest. I need to start putting Bounce dryer sheets on the tires when I park the car in the garage, or mothballs or peppermint oil in the engine compartment. Rotten buggers. I watched the guy change the filter and I can buy one at the auto parts store and replace it myself in the future.
Stopped by the woodstove place where we bought ours 8 years ago to inquire about a chimney sweep - our regular guy retired three years ago and haven't been able to find a replacement. Well, they handed me a card and said here's a new guy who is doing that, they've had good reports. I called him and he was able to come out after lunch.
Long story short - the chimney and woodstove are cleaner than they were, but he left a mess for me to clean up. The vacuum he was going to use to suck up the ash and creosote from the chimney well malfunctioned and it blew ash and debris all over the living room. He left chunks of creosote all over the stove and ceramic tile. He left a sooty footprint on my gray carpet that my vacuum couldn't take out. He didn't seem upset about it and wondered if I'd give him a 5 star rating on Google.I smiled and said I'd think about it - I just wanted him out of the house ASAP.
But, the upside to that was I'd been putting off the carpet cleaning with my little Bissell home carpet cleaner which does an OK job - not terrific, just OK. So now I no longer have an excuse to not get it done, especially with a couple days of warm weather coming up.
I'll get some good exercise and the living room carpet will be cleaner, plus I now have more confidence I can build a fire in that stove if I need to without burning down the house.
Plus, another good thing about that chimney guy climbing on the roof to brush out the chimney stack - he said the wooden surround up there was in poor shape and he knew a guy who was a carpenter and could maybe squeeze it in to get it redone.
I admit, it was looking ratty - had mildew on the north side and paint chipping off on the east side. I had been concerned it was deteriorating and would cause a leak.
So, here's the good ending to this story - I remembered a contractor - older fella, I'm guessing in his 60's - that had been doing small jobs in the neighborhood the past couple years, I had his card and gave him a buzz.
He came out in the late afternoon, set up his ladder and climbed up to inspect it. The good news is - it's in great shape, just needs a little caulk replaced down where the hardiplank meets the metal flashing and a quart of paint. He said it would take him less than 2 hours and would cost $100 plus the paint.
I felt like I won the lottery.I'm now thinking of other jobs he might be able to do since he also does indoor and outdoor remodeling.
Guess what his name is.... ROGER!
Time to get my walk in. Make it a great day!

Lanette ~ What a day you had! I would have hate the mess the chimney sweep made. Glad the mouse nest was found. And, glad that you were able to get the chimney surround taken care of. You have been doing a wonderful job of handling all that has come up since your husband passed away. You are to be congratulated.

Lamette- that Roger has been your guardian angel.

Rori--So happy for you that your vacation was everything you wanted and more.
Rosemarie--Your trip to the coast sounds wounderful.
Kylia--Sounds like a lot of fun, you are braver than me as I would panic is I tried the zip line. Sorry they didn't get the picture. DH and a friend of ours went on one several years ago and the picture they took about half way down is funny.
Barbie--Glad Jake is doing better.
Bare Feet--my shoes come off when I walk in the door and only wear them when I am out of the house.
Tracey--Happy Birthday, Looks like you have been busy. So pretty.
Lanette--Sounds like you had an interesting day. Glad your wood stove is safe to use and sounds like Roger is a handi guy to help with projects.
There is an outdoor concert DH wants to go to tonight. The band plays Original rock-soul-gospel-R&B music. So will take our lawn chairs and enjoy the evening. The temps are down in the 70's so will take a jacket.

Rori - So good to see your smiling face pop up, and so pleased your time in the northeast was wonderful. So glad, too, that your special friend is turning out to be as he represented himself. You deserve that kind of happiness.
Allie - What a wonderful picture of Alfie...
Sue - Hope the sarcoidosis flare was mild. Steroids are such a toss-up as to how they're going to affect us, very frustrating! I'm still struggling with dizziness, too, and hoping it's not a lifelong thing. It can get a little scary when it's an intense dizzy spell.
Lanette - That WAS a busy day... glad the mice were evicted! Sorry the chimney sweep was a little grub - we're still finding the occasional adhesive-tinged fingerprints in odd places in the bathroom from the guys who installed our tub/shower surround, and that was more than a year ago. Thank goodness for Rogers, huh.
The one rainy day apparently deterred the city from coming to fix the water leak, but since it's on their side, we're not going to be out any money. Just seems like a waste to have a leak, albeit a reasonably small one, and not get it fixed. Ah well. Not my circus, not my monkeys.
The homemade pasta was a complete bust, but my amazing chef husband saved the day by making macaroni from a box to go with the fresh tomato marinara and leftover meatballs, and it was wonderful.
Yesterday was rough, all in all, but slept nearly eight hours last night, which always improves everything. Today's mood is also helped because yesterday's 30+ bathroom visitations took with them nearly three pounds of the four and a half I gained the prior five days. Painfully reassuring, so to speak, that the weight was temporary.
However, I'm still thinking about a two- to three-day fast next week, and Corey's in full support... if I can get through the first 24 hours, I think I'll be fine. This business of my body holding onto everything for four or five days and then a day where I can't leave the bathroom for the entire day is just not working for me, and if a fast will help reset it, it will be well worth it.
Anyway... vacuuming is done for the day, time to move laundry around and then get moving.
Later,
Love y'all!
