    This has been a horrible week. Two family members in the ER in two days. No sleep. So many tears. In the end they'll both live to see more days. Still.. My heart is hurting, and tired. So very tired.

    The one was my son and it was self inflicted. 😔 He's getting help, but it feels like it's taking so long.

    The other was my mom, and we thought it might be pancreatic cancer based on the symptoms, pain and labs. Thankfully no tumours were found, so it is probably pancreatitis.

    They both hit within 24h and while I was operating on 2h of sleep. Needless to say it all hit very hard.

    thank you both. I am at work today and am counting the hours til the weekend. I feel like I could sleep a week! Mom is back home and is in a lot of pain, but hopefully on the mend.

    You are your only competition. Improvement is desired but remember that 116kg is still a solid lift and something to be proud of too!

    Did my 1rm for bench and squat and am unimpressed with the results. I'd really hoped for 240lb for squats and 135lb for bench. Oh well... Another round here we come!

    Trust the progress, even though it seems slow sometimes
    And i recognize the impatience, i want to see big differences as well, but forget that 10 small steps make a huge step

    I freaking did! I confess, I was doubting myself after my fails at squat and bench, and was avoiding the gym for a few days because of that. I'm glad I pushed myself to go! Next up... 315, and new BHAG (big hairy arsed goal) is 350!

    Haha, I had to hold back! I felt like the gym should have erupted into applause, but not a person noticed! :laugh: That said, I almost burst into tears, I feel like I've been waiting for this for so long!

    Every Wednesday is a very very challenging flow yoga class, my favorite workout of the whole week.

    Instructor inserted a headstand into a very difficult flow, which he never does, and told us, once up, to spread our legs out as far as possible and then return to straight-up legs. It takes a lot of strength and balance.

    I’ve never been able to do this but it was so unexpected and I was so in the groove of listening to and following his commands, I did it without thinking, and kept my balance.

    That sounds minor, but that was a big deal for me.

    I also had an hour between cardio and aquafit this morning, so took my mat into the gym and enjoyed the luxury of working on arm balances in front of a mirror, checking my form, for forty minutes. I got a lot of “WTF is she doing and how is she doing that?” side-eyes, lol. Arm balances are why I started weight lifting in the first place.

    Yoga and weight lifting are very complementary practices.
