Today found the cutest squishy fluffy pillow in the shape of a bowl of ramen. Christmas present for eldest.💖
I also bought a new calendar. Its Japanese block prints photos. So pretty. If any of you have calendars, please send them my way. I make envelopes out of them, or cut photos from them for stationery.💖. Just send me a private message on here and I will give you my address. Much appreciated!

Goodmorning! Just joined mfp yesterday. Thought I would join this group for help and support. I am 60 and was successful on WW. Lost a little over 85 pounds last year counting points and tracking. I had a traumatic life event and gained back 45 recently. Want to get back under 200 pounds. Thought I'd join this app because it had good tracking without point tracking. I am looking for friends to help me through this process. Please friend me if you would like support too. Thank you7

I think I fixed the check engine. When I took it in it was off so there was nothing they could do. It does not have a gas cap but I sensed the flap was loose. It is a seven year old car. I took Press and Seal to seal off the intake where you put in gas. The check engine light went off. If your check engine light goes off checking the gas cap is the first thing they tell you to do. Press and Seal works better than regular plastic wrap to give a better seal. I may put a rubber band around it too. Saves me over 200 dollars. It was going to be 180 just to diagnose the problem.6

I had a neighbor I had to say no to. The neighbor next to son's house is having another neighbor build a retaining wall out of rock cemented together. She started about two months ago and I told her she could use my outside outlet for her vacuum and light if she had to work in the dark. The neighbor outside outlet consists of an extension cord plugged somewhere in their home. To get to the plug you have to go through their black raspberries that have thorns. Thus I volunteered my outdoor plug. Now it is getting cold and she is talking about using a space heater. One they can do use more electricity, two that outlet is connected to the dehumidifier pump to my furnace a space heater can pop a circuit breaker, (I had this happen last year and a 450 bill later to find out that was the problem), third space heaters ideally are not run on an extension cord and she would have to use one. So I said no space heater use on my outside outlet.
Barbie Perhaps the neighbor does not want to let anyone into their laundry area for various reasons. They could be embarrassed at the state that it is in. If you had a different request they might be more than willing to help.2 -

Afternoon ladies
Phew what a day....
Im tired ,went over to the dealership to take a test drive.. which I did..just the right size..
Has what i need..
I signed nothing.. got a print out for buying or lease but both with trading in my car rather than selling.
My thing is I just want something that has the safety features that will keep me and whomever in the car safe and ,better gas mileage, and with what I put down for a lease .I can get it for 102.00 a month.
That is very doable for me
Will check on the insurance and taxes3 -

I think the check engine light in our van has been on for about 6 years. We've had it in to be checked a few times, and they say it's OK.3 -

My dog walking friend offered the use of her dryer before I even finished telling her the story about buying a new washer and dryer. She's a great friend. We have exchanged favors for years.
About the neighbor plugging in endlessly, I would be concerned about that, too.
Dog trainer came again today. Annie , Jake, and I are doing well. She'll be back again next Thursday

We had torrential rain during the previous storm front last Saturday. Fortunately we weren’t cut off but several towns in Northern Ireland have been badly flooded.
Delighted to report that the Storm Ciaran circled round us and we had a calm, clear day. Lots of storm damage and floods all around us, it’s moved away now.

Allie-it's all about your comfort level. I did forget to mention that part of my purchase of Subaru was that I also wanted the safety features (blindside notification, better back up camera, various alerts). I do like those.
Annie-I haven't been in your situation. I will say I like the baby monitors for my grandchildren. The also have sound so if your mother calls out you can hear her. I believe some have apps you can put on your cell phone so you can have it anywhere in your house (or outside). Some of the units are small so they wouldn't be overly noticeable.
Rosemarie-Am I understanding correctly that you pay $140.00 per month for car insurance? That seems much higher than what I pay.
Margaret-I miss Mary too-she gave me advice on kettlebells. Hope she is ok,
Beth-the house project deserves more than a drum roll-you deserve the whole band showing up! Great job! (and you are still married
Barbie-good to hear Annie, you and Jake are all trainable! I think the owners do need training as much as the pups.
Terri-I have great admiration for your solid habits approach.
Had good meeting today. Went for long walk after I got home. Ended up walking to family dollar to get some cat treats (somehow I ran out). Got small bag to hold them off until tomorrow or Saturday. I like to get the large bags at Meijer's. I am going out that way tomorrow after I have an 11 am meeting to ship off the ATT stuff and may swing by. Have enough time to take off!
My messy kitchen is call me. I want to get some clean up done tonight and tomorrow. Saturday I have Stanley Steamer coming to clean ducts (for some reason I had been thinking it was going to be last Saturday until I checked by calendar. They will be here between 8-12. Ohio State plays at 12 so I like to be free to watch that. Frequently I will fold laundry and iron while watching a game so I don't feel quite so slothful.
Take care all,

I went to pottery class, and it's getting a little better...Today's work. Oddly enough, I did the decent looking one first, and the wonky one was my second.
Two weeks back I made these, and today I trimmed them up ready for their first fire.
Next week we're putting on glazes for a number of pieces before final kiln fire. Today's pieces will dry for the week and we'll be able to trim them next Thursday.
Pleased that I'm starting to make things that look like I want them to, or at least to look like something other than a mistake...
Later, y'all,
Love,

M – whenever we go somewhere to eat (someone’s house), I always ask if there’s anything I can do to help. I also help clean off the table. That’s just the way I was brought up.
Kylia – well done on that dress!
Vince (the pessimist) told me it was supposed to be real cold in the morning. It was very warm! So far it looks like although it’s chilly, there’s not supposed to be rain today (Tues)
Barbie – Around here if you are summoned to jury duty, you call the night before and they tell you if you are needed. The last time Vince got jury duty, he called the first night and was told that he didn’t have to appear at all. I like to not only set out my exercise clothes for the day(s) when I can do formal exercise, but if I am going to the gym, I like to have my water and my gym bag in the car so all I have to take with me are my keys and I’m off.
Heather – glad you got that appt. Let us know what happens, OK? YOU...no interest in cooking or food? You are really sick!
Allie – so sorry for your uncle
Lanette – we used to have a 120 pound sheepdog. One night while Vince was away someone came to the door at like 2 in the morning Honestly, the dog probably would have licked them to death. But just the sight of this big dog was enough to make the person think twice!
Wonder what katla’s up to. Hope everything is OK
Hyundai STILL doesn’t have the part to repair my recall. I really don’t like parking in the driveway!
Allie – Myles is getting cuter and cuter all the time. Good luck on your drive
Lisa – I have the Butterfly Gold pattern of Corelleware that I got for my wedding shower some 45 years ago. I still love it, even tho it’s discontinued. Whenever I find pieces for my set at the Salvation Army or another thrift store, I always buy it.
Sorry I haven’t been in much lately. Every time I try to log in, I kept getting a 404 message. Finally I used Microsoft Edge and was able to get in enough to log food.
Had a pretty light Halloween, only about 35 kids. Vince told me that a kid about 12 came to the door at 9:30 asking for candy. He told the kid “we’re closed, no more candy”. We did have some left over. Trusting me thought that he was probably there just to get more candy thinking at the end people want to get rid of what they had. Vince said that the father was on the sidewalk. I was talking to a lady at BK today and she said (which trusting me never thought of) that Vince probably did the right thing. In today’s age, that kid might very well have been there to try to get in the house. Which makes sense. We’re elderly. I did find out (we’ve only lived here 15 years and I’m just now finding this out) that every Halloween Vince sits in the office. I didn’t know it but he has a gun on the printer that he can just grab if some kid tries to get in the house.
Did a spinning workout Wed.
Went to WalMart and bought candy on sale (now why did I do that?) and an inflatable (like we need more) that was on sale. Picked up my fish placque from ceramics. Of course, had senior and Newcomer bowling.
Had to scrape frost off my windshield before work today. Why Hyundai is dragging their feet getting the part for the recall is a mystery to me. I DO NOT like this
For the second time in 15 years we didn’t have to run the inflatables to dry them out
What a cute mandalorian!
Barbara – good luck on the extraction
Lisa – congrats on the new car! It’s just lovely
Been making a lot of the towel toppers to send to the lady in Poland who helped my father
Okie – good luck to you on your replacements
Going to spend the weekend with Jess. Vince has a train show that he wants to go to. Jess said that Colby wanted to go. Our thinking is that he really just wants to get out of the house. Made dog biscuits to take to Gannon and have an empty toilet paper tube for Scarlette (the hamster), Vince needs to get Shadow some treats.
I told them at BK two weeks ago that I wouldn’t be here. I wrote it down. Well, today I had to tell the mgr that the plan was to give her the extra prep but that we don’t have enough lettuce. She said that the delivery came at 11, is that too late for me. The soup kitchen starts serving at 11:30. I could have been a nice guy and come in after the soup kitchen, but I got to thinking “you knew two weeks ago that I wasn’t going to be there. Yet you didn’t order enough. Well, not my fault. So why should I have to change my plans?” Plus, I don’t want them thinking that because they want to reduce their costs (only get goods enough that will get by until the next delivery) and I’m going to change my plans for this. Nope, not gonna happen. She can find lettuce somewhere else, or I guess I just won’t give them the extra prep. I have a feeling that she will find some.
Been buying Christmas presents as I find them, Got the gift card for Jess, one of the things we’re going to give her. Jess talked about having Christmas on Dec. 23 since they’re flying to Idaho to see Colby’s mother. If that’s what happens, I’m thinking that I’ll invlte 2 other couples who I know will be alone.
Got my routine bloodwork this Wed.
Have to lector next Sun. I was supposed to this Sun but I traded with another person
Cute constumes
Vince wanted me to give 5 pieces of candy/kid. Did he REALLY think I was going to count them out? I have about 6 bags to return to the store.
Welcome Anita!
Was looking for Halloween shirts (I know I’m late) and although I didn’t find any at this one store, I did find a calendar of wolves for Jess. The one on Amazon was $12.99. This was $7.99.
Rori – always love hearing from you
Heather – glad you got thru the storm OK]
barbie – I can’t believe your neighbor! Offering and then telling Jake to go somewhere else!
Beth – glad to hear the siding project nearing completion. Good job!
Katherine – welcome! Good job on the weight loss!
Apologies to anyone I’ve missed in my effort to get caught up.

Annie- dh has cameras set up all over MIL's house. He can watch her on his phone, where ever he is. He can be at work and just check on her. This has really helped. Before setting them up, he would be worried about her the whole time he wasn't there. Now, in seconds, he can check and see exactly what she is doing/where she is
He has them around the outside and a few inside of our house too. Not thrilled with the one in the living room- don't want him watching me when I don't realize it. He can see how long I am playing on the computer

Lanette - My grandfather and grandmother never drove at night. I couldn’t understand it. It took me a long time to figure out it was vision related.
Margaret - I love the happy pills costume.
Allie - Has your car started having problems? I was told by my brother the mechanic that belts and hoses don’t really count as they are expected to go. It’s when transmission and engine troubles start happening that you give it up. Everyone has their own limit though and you need to decide for you. If you’re concerned about breaking down somewhere do you have a road size service like AMA? I drive a 2008 Dodge Nitro and plan on driving it until I can’t anymore.
I wish I was only putting $60 every two weeks in. One trip into the city costs me about 20.00, I only do it out of necessity.
Kylia - I’m with you on the years going quickly. My grandmother once told me, on a summer day when I was in my teens complaining about being bored, that when we are young the days go slow. We are wanting “life” to start. Soon life has started and before we know it we’ll be wanting time to slow. Then we get “old” and time slows way down again.
I think she was right.
Barbara - 8th Fire is on YouTube.
Heather - I hate wind, I’m always fearful of a couple trees in the park being blown down.
Kim - Great advice for Annie regarding the baby monitors.
Annie - it might not hurt to make sure bathroom doors don’t lock either. You may need to get in there to help.
Beth - what a great savings! You finished just in time.
Neighbours- we live in a mobile home park, the park asked if they could use our outside tap to water new sod at the neighbours and then they didn’t want to pay the water bill! I am leery of any requests now.
I would allow my neighbour to use my dryer if I knew them well, where I live now, one I would 4 I wouldn’t.
Machka - The engine light was on in my old car that my daughter is still using since 2012. It’s an oxygen sensor that is not necessary and costs close to 500 to repair.
My current vehicle also has the engine light on, another sensor.
Lisa - the pottery is coming along! Are you enjoying it?
Michele - We’re doing Christmas on the 23rd this year. DH works the 24th and 25th.
My latest trick or treater was 830, my neighbour’s little guy. They chose to come here last so it’s right next door. He got his treat and walked across the yard while his mom and I chatted for a minute.
I probably wouldn’t have even answered the door at that time. I was here alone though, DH was at work.
I would not be so calm about a gun, we live in different worlds when it comes to that.
Ceramics this evening, I almost cancelled. I am so tired for some reason. I have an exam tomorrow, then another session will be complete.

I have a massive list of things to do. Always. I'm never bored.

It is 4:41 am in the morning. At 6 I need to mix 8 oz of water with 1/4 cup of goats milk mix to feed the puppies. Of course, there is a pipe break and we are under a boil advisory. So I decided to use some of the emergency water I have stored. LOL! Who knew water had an expiration date..I have water expiring from 2003 to 2013. So I am sitting here waiting for some water to boil! Then I will go back to sleep!
I was very tired last evening so did my Christmas shopping through Amazon for my son and DIL. I got them 3 gifts a piece which is what I usually do. I got my DIL an exercise outfit and some Christmas earrings. Both reasonable priced. And my son a hoodie type sweat jacket and a nail clipper set. Again reasonably priced. I have 2 friends that I usually exchange gifts with so I will need to find something for them. My mother I will send a nice card with a little cash. And then I am done. I do not plan to mail cards this year.
Best,
Rosemarie from Georgia!
