Oh no @kgirlhart . I hope your DH has a mild case and you don't get it. Great Goldilocks run yesterday and excellent run today too! Sounds like you have figured out the layering/clothing.
You're doing great @tarun_yadavA . How's your mom doing?
@polskagirl01 I'm glad you talked some friends into joining you in the immersion. If I were there.....I would watch from the warmth of the car.
You are doing great @yirara . I hope all goes well with the procedure tomorrow.
I hope you feel better soon @Laurz9191 ! Great job on the 10K when you aren't feeling well.
Very speedy run @Scott6255 ! Congratulations.

Here you all are out killing the mileage, even when some of you aren't feeling well, and I'm using every excuse I can think of to not run. I just can't seem to get motivated after my trip to FL.
Today, my reasons are that mom and I spent the day in town until about 2:30. Mom had a doctor's appointment (follow up and is okay), did a little shopping to "waste time," and went to the funeral home for one of mom's good friend's son who passed away from cancer. We didn't have lunch, so when I got home, I was hungry and tired. I did a quick walk, ate, and took a nap.

Checking-out for a couple of nights on Friday (2 week shift!) , back to London for a couple of nights (social outings!), then back on Christmas!

It was a little warmer today at 41°F, but it still felt pretty chilly. I ran the same 6 miles as yesterday. It was a nice but uneventful run. My husband is feeling a bit better, and so far I have no symptoms. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but preparing to do a zoom Christmas if necessary.7 -
@martaindale nice to get an easy run in before dark - great job for the month thus far!
@tarun_yadavA glad to hear mum’s doing better.
Those are some pretty interesting trees @Scott6255 - would be neat to see them in person. I’d love to go to Poland someday! I’m actually Ukrainian.
@Mari33a sorry to hear you’re having not so good weather. Hopefully it’ll improve soon.
@kgirlhart nice morning run! Same route, faster time!
I got a 4 mile wog in before lunch. Head cold is improving. I’m definitely addicted to getting out there and getting miles in, even while sick, so I guess I’ve got the ‘bug’

In California we have that too, except we use hot water. We call it sitting in the Hot Tub.
Hahaha. That sounds nice, too 😁1 -
@daria0919 come on over 🙂 There are quite a few Ukrainians in Poland right now.
We got some snow today, not quite the mother storm the forecasters were calling for though. I did a little shoveling before giving up and going to figure out the lawn tractor/plow. I met friends for a dip at the lake. Next up, I need to drive my dad's [huge] pickup truck, to help my mom haul a cabinet. This will be outside of my comfort zone. 😆8 -
Just a short 4 mile TM recovery run for me today8
-
You are amazing getting out for a run with a headache @daria0919 . I hope you are feeling better soon.
Nice running @martaindale .
I'm glad that your mom is doing well @tarun_yadavA ! Enjoy your time back in London.
@Mari33a Great job on riding the bike when the weather is bad out. I hope it does clear up for you to have an outdoor run soon.
That is an interesting forest @Scott6255 . I've never seen that before.
@kgirlhart . I'm glad that your DH is feeling better and, hopefully, you won't get sick.
@polskagirl01 I hope you wound up enjoying driving the truck. Glad you didn't get a lot of snow - unless you wanted a lot, then I'm sorry. They said we might get some yesterday/last night, but only in the higher elevations. Nothing here.

Hi! I quickly glanced at most of the updates since last time I checked the thread. Everyone is doing a great job in spite of setbacks or life getting in the way. Here are some comments for the pals right above me.
@quilteryoyo - Great job improving your pace!
@scott6225 - you ran so much you broke the ticker lol
@daria0919 - you definitely caught the bug. Good for you running even when not feeling well.
@kgirlhart - look at all those miles. Let's keep our fingers crossed that you dont have to do zoom Christmas.
@mari33a - Let's hope for better weather in the next few days. Do you have a jumping rope? I've tried to do that to cross train from running and I found it to be harder than running.
@tarun_yadavA - Nice run. I find it interesting that you ran in London in miles. Where are you from?
Update from 12/19. Run/walk I'm up to 3.5 mins run / 1 min walk.
12/2 - 1.59 miles
12/5 - 1.50 miles
12/7 - 1.77 miles
12/9 - 1.99 miles
12/13 - 2.73 miles with my local running group
12/15 - 1.47 miles
12/17 - 2.55 miles "long run" up to 3:1 walk/run
12/19 - 2.63 miles
Total 19.24/30
Do you know what city this is? no googling5 -
project9percent wrote: »I find it interesting that you ran in London in miles.
Little known fact, Dr. Harold Miles, the inventor of "the mile" was actually born there, and did his most important work in his little lab in Finsbury Park.6 -
Good morning everyone!
Got in my daily 5 (at 09"26).
@quilteryoyo thank you! 😊
Yes, looking forward to going home, being in the city... And just home comforts. Your own bed; shower etc etc
@project9percent @chris_in_cal London born! (Well, Basildon in the county of Essex - which is East London overspill into the suburbs!). Have lived around the world briefly.
Anyways. Yes, UK still does Miles - not kilometres.
Also do height in Feet and Inches.
Hmmm what else? Pints not Ml.
Oh, and our Pints (!🍻) are "Imperial" pints ie 568 ml.
Weight - there is a weird one called Stones. Which I don't do.
Stick to Kgs and Lbs.
Lbs is a touch more N.American... but I use it because I measure myself according to boxing 🥊 weight categories ie
175 lbs - light heavyweight
200 lbs - cruiserweight
200 lbs+ Heavyweight

@AlphaHowls I did Crazy Laps yesterday. It worked out well for me and I appreciate you doing it and thank you. My wife is supportive of all things running for me and was okay with it. The cat was not amused and hid under the bed.

almost did not run today but we do have rain fcst for the next 4-5 days so decided since it was 70 deg and still light out to do a short run. Good thing because literally as I got 100 feet from my house big fat drops started to fall.💦💦💦💦
Oddly I was really speedy which is unusual for me after work but maybe its because my heel is finally feeling better. I have trouble with pain scales so for me if I am not thinking about it all the time that means it is getting better.8
