I'm actually in process of switching back to my old account but waiting for a volunteer moderator to delete all my old posts first - so far my old discussions are gone but still waiting on them to delete my replies. Once they get to it I'll be using that acct instead. Soon I'll have the Fitbit adjustment thing working!! yay. In the meantime posting with this one since I know no one will be deleting posts on me!
DH agreed it's long overdue we got a new scale so I think when things 'settle down' we will look for something. Any suggestions for a decent non crazy expensive digital scale??7 -

Hello I'm Darlene and have been with this group for a while now. Retired, 63-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). I have been on this weight loss journey since January 2023. 💖I wouldn't be where I am today without this group (along with a couple other challenges I am in); I am so thankful for their support and accountability. 💖

Jan 1: 163.8 👣 📝 🥗 💦 Happy New Year!
Jan 2: 163.8 👣 📝 🥗 💦 Met my New Year's goal - did a 10K walk yesterday AM. Was ravenous all day, but managed to stay under my calorie limit by 5 calories. I would say a successful day. I'm still .2 pounds away from my lowwest weight (just before Christmas).
Jan 3: 162.8 😁 👣 📝 🥗 💦 Funny thing happened to yesterday. Greg, Monty and I started the Airline Trail today (I am feeling nostalgic so want to do it again, and we started off with a big one day 6.2 miles. When we got back to the car, Greg noticed he didn't have his wallet. Thought he left it on the counter at home. Got home, no wallet, now we think he must have dropped it on the trail as we were walking, so we drove back to the trail at the half way point. Greg went one way - I went the other looking for the wallet, another 3.7 miles and didn't find it. When we got home - Greg remembered he took the truck out yesterday - left it in the center console. LOL! So, my 6.2 walked turned into 9.9, silver linings I guess! Here are some pictures from the walk (the first time).
Jan 4: 162.8 👣 📝 🥗 💦
Jan 5 : 163.4 👣 📝 💪 💦 Couldn't sleep, got up, raided the pantry. When I posted last night it triggered me to stop, but a little too late. Today is my rest day. Off to visit my husband's cousin, celebrate Christmas. Will try to get a small walk in this afternoon. Won't be able to weigh everything, but we are bringing lunch with us, so should be able to estimate and log everything.
Jan 6: 162.8 📝 🥗 Spent yesterday at my husband's eldery cousins house -5 hours in a car, and sitting all day with her - so not much movement yesterday. I did log everything, and used estimates for measuring. I jumped on the treadmill when I got home - got 2 miles in - counting it as my rest day.6 -
Good morning this place here I am on my 4th day I don't report what the scale says every day. Because I don't want my fluctuations to show up here. So I report every week.
Started Jan. 3rd well was suppose to be on the 2nd but just couldn't stop eating. Raided the fridge and the panty. Guess I thought I'd never see food again. None the less i'm starting my forth day today. Good luck to all.

Well shoot. I forgot to weigh in before I got dressed. I'll do it tonight to say I did it; but it won't be a meaningful number.
New habits are hard.8 -
Morning All!
Back at it hard yesterday. Had a far better exercise day with two 2-hour sessions of tennis. Won both too which helps! Felt hungry and a bit lethargic yesterday for the first time but pushed through and currently on a second consecutive 20-hour fast with a tight and aggressive 4-hour eating window. Back to the gym today after The Wiz matinee at the theater to keep the focus up and results rolling.

Hi All! I'm a 46-year-old married mom of five. I started this group in September at 141 pounds (overweight for me at my height) and have lost about 11-12 pounds overall since then. I always gain some weight around Christmas; I love the cookies, truffles, and eggnog etc. I allowed myself to just enjoy those things and slack off some; however, it's time to get back to the routine! My goal for January is to log and weigh every day, and to lose 3 1/2 pounds. I'm setting my goal a tad on the aggressive side because I suspect that some of my gain from the end of December is not only fat but water and such.

Hi everyone,
Forgive my weakness, but I just can't weigh myself every day - the fluctuations are making me crazy! Basically it's been like this:
DEC 31: 146.2
JAN 01: 146.2
JAN 01: 147.2
JAN 03: 147.4
JAN 04: 148.2
WHAAAT?! I definitely haven't eaten enough to gain any weight, let alone two whole pounds! It's too discouraging and I'm afraid I'll give up!
I will just stick with my weekly weigh-ins every Sunday (on Jill's other board); so my next weigh-in will be Sunday, January 7th.
Best wishes to all! 💗
Carole
@Walela617 I will tell you what helps me a whole lot.... and what got me hooked on daily weighing... I use a graph that tracks the trend, not just the daily weights. The trend line shows whether your weight is trending up or down, despite the fluctuations. It's not just a simple line graph, which really doesn't tell you anything other than what you already know. But it does the math to show the overall trend. If you weigh-in one day and your weight is up, but the trend line on the graph is still going down, it means your program is still working. I don't know if I explain it very well. I will show you my graph for the past 3 months. There are many weights that are above the trend line, but the line is still headed down, until right after Christmas (when I took a break from logging and ate all the cookies, truffles, heavy food, and eggnog), when my weight was trending up. Now it's about to start trending down again.
I'm using weightgrapher.com. But there are many others. Not trying to pressure anyone into using it; you have to do whatever works for you! But anytime I hear someone getting discouraged by daily fluctuations, I want to tell them about trend weight. I love entering my daily weights now because I can see what's going on better than before.

Yesterday I worked on finishing up removing and packing up the Christmas décor. So many steps! It felt like the old days when I worked before retirement!
01/06-183.0-(Trend Weight 180.5)- I have not been doing well since Christmas. I have let the festivities get the best of me. I have abused the leftovers. I have done way more sitting than moving. It’s time to get my butt in gear. I usually get “on a roll” and do well. I go in streaks and right now I’m on a bad one. It’s time to get back on the good side of the tracks. I know I can do this if I try harder. Sometimes I just get burned out. Today I take my grandsons out for haircuts and then to lunch. I think I will just watch them eat and not order anything. I can eat at home later. I can’t afford (physically) to have a bad day today.
