Back from weekly shopping trip, and have everything stached away. We woke this morning to a covering of snow, and -2*C. It’s a clear blue sky, so sure it will warm a little when the sun is fully out.
Tracey: The sleet was very brief, and the sun dried up the damp. However, it snowed again overnight (just a light covering) so we had to scrape the windscreen this morning.
Annie: 👍🏻on finding the will. Hope it all goes smoothly.
Allie: Best wishes for a speedy recovery for Miles.
Heather: Well done on sorting the heating.
The sun has just reached the terrace outside, but snow has started to gently fall again 😂 so not sure if it will melt or not. Fortunately, we aren’t planning to go anywhere.
🤗🤗🤗 and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.

Worked from home today.
That saved me an hour or more on the bus! I really appreciated that because it rained all day. Buses have this habit of either not running at all when it is raining ... or being very late.
Working from home also gave me the opportunity to nap in the middle of the day. I laid down for a quick shut-eye ... and ended up sleeping 2 hours. I can't believe how tired I've been since coming down with COVID. I was also freezing cold which is unusual for me.
However, when I was awake, I completed a section of code I've been working on for the past couple days and refamiliarised myself with what I was working on before Christmas. It's slowly coming together.
Then we had a Zoom with our bee group in the evening.

Ladycop: The falling pine cones sound like a lot of work. They do look pretty as decorations.
Heather: Interesting problems with neighbor with the bath water. Congrats on having the taxes done.
Michele: I hope the cramps go away. I hope the callous can be treated.
B23-Kale: Thank you--yes, lighter & brighter is better
Hmjack1561-Glad you have some sun!
Vickie: Great you were able to spend time with 2 of the grandchildren! Too bad their parents are having marital problems.
Margaret Turk: Thinking of you as as you handle your DH's final arrangements.
Tracey: I hope your house warmed up
Rebecca: Have fun and good luck learning Japanese
Machka: Hoping that your energy comes back quickly
Mary: Welcome
Allie: Great that Miles surgery went well!
Dr. Katiebug: Congrats on doing the 10,000 steps!
I am going into the rescue an hour later today because of the cold! I have so much to do at the house that I am not looking forward to it. I really just want to work at my house and I would love to bundle up and take a walk over at the college. I really need some exercise. I am treating myself to good food this week! Last night I had crab cakes, tonight Rosemary pork, Thursday night salmon and Friday night going out to eat. I will probably eat eggs until shopping day next Tuesday!
It was 18 degrees, probably warmer now!
Best,
Rosemarie from Georgia

Good morning ladies!
Still frozen outside here. We were going to take some stuff to goodwill and the library to donate, but only if the roads are clear.
I found some little beetles in the pantry. Time for a good clean out there.
Stay warm my friends!

Morning, my chickens, from the frigid dawn gently lightening the skies of Arkansas,
Was supposed to get everything charged up last night and spaced it, so my phone and my Fitbit are both plugged in at the moment. My memory for the little things is so sketchy these days, but in all honesty, it's never been THAT great. When I stopped working, I stopped writing things down, and I'm starting to do that again.
Wild dreams last night, and sure enough, when I looked at my Fitbit sleep record, there were half a dozen REM episodes. Each one was sharply different, I know, one clear one had Matthew McConaughey in it, and I remember turning over thinking, OK, let's see if I can get back to that one! The last one woke me at right about 6am, seeing two men walking up my drive, talking to each other, gesticulating, laughing, not threatening in any way. Just odd. Doesn't happen in this country. I woke up trying to decide whether to get my BB gun and take it out with me to greet them or not! I'm sure it's something from the cracker-factory levels of my mind, but not going to let it worry me.
In fact, I'm not letting much worry me these days. I marvel at how peaceful my life has become and am grateful for it. If I mention it to Corey, he just says, "Yes, and you deserve it." Helps to know he understands. I don't see this lifestyle as boring, detached, or unfulfilled. I take care of him, take care of the house (which takes care of both of us), and work on various projects. It feels very engaged, loving, and sustainable. When I was working and stressed most of the time, even the happy times saw me peeking around every corner waiting for the bus to run me over. Haven't felt that way in quite some time. Regaining a large part of my health is certainly part of it.
I'm all for finding peace: 🙃👀😀🤪
Hope it's a lovely day for all... the first blush of sunrise is just beginning to reflect across to the western skies I can see from here.
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR

The charity took the bag that I had left outside on the doorstep. I was half expecting them not to turn up, but Lo!
I'm reorganising a couple of my kitchen cabinets this afternoon, with the frying pan racks I bought. One of the pans is too big to fit the space, but I do have another spot to try out. Should be fun.

Morning ladies
Im up and dressed, and have the heatbon in both the bedroom and the livingroom, but all I see are $$$ signs everything here is electric..
Going to visit Miles.. he is sore doesn't want to bend at all poor little guy4 -
Sorted out the cabinets. Took no time at all. Donating one ribbed cast iron pan I never use, throwing one not non stick away. I've moved cake tins to the utility room. My huge frying pans could not be racked anywhere, but I now have space to store them flat. Can now reach anything I want easily.
Very pleased.

I'm actually moving the silicone brownie pan to the utility room to join the cake tins.

It's starting to get warmer here (30 instead of 6 F). Our heat is all powered by electricity (furnace and heat pump) because there is no natural gas where we live. We have an electric space heater in the bathroom (rated for bathroom use) that I use o make it extra warm for my shower. My idea of great luxury is being able to turn the thermostat up one degree when I am feeling especially chilly. I also wear many layers of clothing in the house including wool socks and a wool hat.
I continue to be grateful for my Yak Trax that have allowed me to go on my morning and evening walks.
Michele, One of the reasons I like walking in the dark early in the morning and in the evening is that no one else is out and it doesn't matter how weird and frumpy I look. Comfort is much more important to me than style.

Good morning! ... It continues to snow in Western New York. Received a 6:00am emergency call that there was another State of Emergency and travel ban. (Hate those early calls ... I thought something had happened to my mom.) My town received an additional 2 feet of snow overnight (although I'm on the southern end of the town and didn't get nearly that much). The band of snow that produced that has shifted directly over the City of Buffalo. Later this evening, the band of snow is to shift back into my town. This is what happens when we have warm weather and Lake Erie does not freeze! Lake Effect Snow!
Allie ... glad Miles is home and doing well. Poor little guy ...
Today I'll do more cleaning and de-cluttering. I've also started a shredding project. We have boxes and boxes of old documents dating back from 1976 that have to go. I was going to take them somewhere to be shredded but we have so much it was going to cost a small fortune. So I'm shredding each day. This summer I'll burn what's left in our fire pit outside (and there will still be a lot!)

Good Morning Friends...Because I was well prepared and knew what I wanted. With the help of our son we were in and out in an hour. The person I worked with was an organized get to the point person just what I needed and wanted for this piece.
If you go to Wulff funeral home of Woodbury they will have the particulars of the service. The info is public, but I did talk about a site like this and she did suggest to send you to their site. There is a Zoom option for the service.
Today is repair the house day. Getting a new kitchen faucet and new shut off valves to the home. One wants to be sure in an emergency you can shut off your water. Gives me a chance to watch someone else work and catch up on other things I have to do. Like going through pictures. I have a friend who is going to make the video.
This is a sub Zero jammy day. I plan to stay in a thick heavy robe today!

The new heater are much safer. Just be sure it is the only thing you have on that outlet and if possible a plug attached to a circuit board that will trip.3

Miles— OUCH! Poor thing, but better to get it over with while he’s little and not have to deal with it later in life.
And today is: Officially ditch your New Years Resolutions, while drinking a Hot Buttered Rum and watching children invent things with donuts.

HI! Can I join? I am on my first weight loss journey after gaining 30lbs in the past couple of years, post menopausal...I have lost about 4 lbs, 7lbs if you count from my highest. Sarah7
-
Welcome, Sarah. Hop right in whenever you feel it.
Barbie-I listened to the series about how Cascateli came to be, but it is just far too pricey for me, especially when I can make fresh Spaetzle in about 10 minutes. One day, I’ll splurge if I actually see it in the store.
I don't have a lot going on right now. I am trying to stay in to limit temptations to ruin any weight loss progress...however, this morning I was up .2 lb. over last week. *sigh* Obviously, it's not working. I'm kind of out of ideas. I have been throwing everything at it since before the new year started and I haven't lost anything at all.
One big improvement, however, is my sleep. I'm currently trying to figure out how to make some tasty, low calorie mocktails to help with water fatigue. Just drinking water after 10ish AM is really dull and I think unhelpful for snack avoidance.
Our health insurance is changing soon, so I'm currently cramming in doc appointments and getting prescriptions refilled. I doubt the new plan will be nearly as good as the current one.
I was going to send you all some sunshine, but it's very overcast and cool today. Maybe the sun will make an appearance this afternoon.
