Hello,
My name is Stephanie, I am 34, and I'm from California. I started this year at 250 lbs. and I am 5'7". My goal is to get to 150 lbs. by the end of 2024.
My plan for this challenge is to focus on incorporating more exercise and to make small, manageable changes to my diet that are sustainable in the long term. Some mini goals I have are to:
1) Meet my apple watch exercise goal at least 3 times a week (I'll increase this later)
2) Drink 100 oz. of water a day
3) Eat 5-6 small meals each day
4) Increase my intake of vegetables and leafy greens
5) Eat more fresh fruit when I am craving sweets
6) Add lean protein to meals
7) Focus on smaller portions of less healthy foods instead of restricting them entirely
8) Log meals, exercise, and weight into MYP every day
Currently, I aim for about 1200-1400 calories a day plus about half of the calories burned from activity for the day.
Starting weight on January 1st: 250 lbs.
March Goal Weight: 220 lbs.
Goal Weight: 150 lbs.
Current weight: 227.1 lbs. (-22.9 lbs)

Hi my name is Jen/Jennifer and I need to get rid of 100+ pounds. I am currently 303.4 and want to lose at least 100 pounds, but my main goal right now is 40-50 by September 14. My daughter is getting married. I have a hard time focusing on me, when there is so much else to do. I look forward to the accountability here.3

I have worked really hard for 70 days.....and lost a whopping 12 lbs. I did not lose any at all the past week. It sucks to be 68 and have such a slow metabolism. Any suggestions?3

I have been working very hard at it and have lost a whopping 12 lbs. It is SLOW. Any ideas?1

I'm in the same boat as you, and honestly, I think your 12 pound loss is great!! I've been working really hard since the 1st of the year and have lost 13 and I'm really proud of myself. I also found out that when my weigh loss slows, I amp up my exercise for a few days, make sure my calories are where they need to be and that seems to do the trick. I also have times where I just need a couple days of comfort food or I just eat everything in sight. I don't know why I can't control myself, but as long as I get right back on track, it doesn't take long to undo the damage. Don't let yourself get discouraged just because this week hasn't gone the way you wanted it to. You're doing awesome!!

"Any suggestions?" My suggestion is that you keep on doing what you're doing. I agree with Missy (Mjstewies). "You're doing awesome!"
According to my calculations, you've lost almost 1 & 1/2 pounds per week in 70 days (about 6 lbs per month). That's perfect. It's best to lose weight slowly. 👏🏼
I hope and pray that I lose 12 pounds during the next 70 days. 🙏2 -

Welcome to MY 100 POUND JOURNEY. Yes. Broccoli beef is a healthy choice at Chinese restaurants. Especially for low-carb dieters. Egg foo young is also an excellent choice. 🥡 🥠 🥢1 -
I have to get back on track.
I turned 39 earlier this year and I refuse to be this big when I turn 40 next year. My name and height are the same 😆 but for those who don't know, My name is Lisa and my height is 5'9".
My current weight is 351.4 😨 Not the highest but still not good. My highest weight was 373lbs.
I stuck with the 330/340's for a while and then went back to 350's.
My short-term goal is the same, get back to 300 and then 285lbs and then I'll go from there.
I'll give you an update for April.
Best of luck all!2 -

According to my calculations, you have about 25 weeks to reach your goal of losing 50 pounds for your daughter’s wedding on September 14, 2024.
That means you’ll need to lose about 2 pounds every week for 25 weeks. Sounds reasonable to me. How are you going to do this? What are you going to eat for those 25 weeks? What is your weight loss plan? You have about 2 days to figure it out before your 25 weeks actually begin. 🥦 🍓 🌮

I have finally lost 21 lbs and now am under 300 lbs. This is a HUGE mini-goal. Now I am excited for the next......to make it to 275. I am still taking off the weight very slowly and it fluctuates from day-to-day but seeing that scale at 299.3 really made me excited this week.5

Hi there! Happy to have found this thread!
HW/SW: 250 (Dec 2023)
CW: 229
Just joined MFP a few days ago after deciding to officially "quit" WW.... I wasn't following the program. So I'm going back to Keto! I lost 70 pounds on this previously and enjoyed what I ate and had so much energy (and confidence). My lowest weight was 128lbs, just under 3 years ago. I Can't wait to have that back again.2 -
Hi, my name is Nancy. I have always struggled with my weight. I currently weigh 280. I would like to get to 180. I have upped my water intake and exercising every day. Making better food choices tracking on MFP really helps.3

Hi I’m Erica. SW 290 (2/2/24) GW 240 (temporary goal)
Big goal is 190 I think, although BMI chart I think says I should be in the 150s 🤷♀️
Lower carb and high protein - I am currently breastfeeding my infant, so I have to make sure I don’t drop weight too quick because my supply will drop.

Hello My name is Jodi. I'm 53. Past menopause.
HW 290 in 2021
Current weight 249
And stuck...I lost 54lbs in 2021. Gained about 40 back in 2022. Lost some in 2023. And this year started at 264. Lost 13lbs in January. 2lbs in February hitting a plateau where I am still at. I up'd my calories as several calculators plus health coaches said I wasn't eating enough. Was 1400 cal and now 1800. But...I'm still stuck. Not gaining or losing. Its so frustrating. I weigh measure & document daily. Drink water 64-100oz a day. Not going to live in the bathroom anymore than I already do lol I eat high protein 150-200g and low carb. I need both knees replaced. So I just try to keep busy getting 8000-10,000 steps in a day.
Any suggestions that worked for you??1 -

I don’t function well on high protein low-carb, but I know many do. According to the book EAT RIGHT 4 YOUR TYPE (blood type diet) by Dr Peter D’Adamo, blood types A+ should be vegetarians (I’m blood type A+), and blood type O should eat meat and go low carb. What blood type are you? 🩸🅰️ 🆎 🅱️ 🅾️
I don’t know how accurate the book is, but it’s certainly very interesting, and I suggest that you read it. It just might work for you. Also, taking an iodine supplement may help. I take Triquetra Health Organic Iodine supplement for my thyroid issues, and a major sweet tooth. 🍰 🧁 🍭

I'm getting to know all the "Best Six Doctors," except one. I haven't met Dr. Exercise yet, and don't plan to until I get some more of this weight off. Don't want to risk damaging my joints. But Dr. Water and I are starting to become good friends. 💧 🤠

Hi, my name is Debbie from Stratford, Ontario.
I tried MFP a number of years ago and was able to successfully lose some weight but unfortunately put it all back on and then some. My biggest obstacle has been my lack of mobility due to severe knee problems. I finally had surgery on my left knee end of September and what a difference this has made. Next surgery for right knee is scheduled for April 30th. Time to take control of my life again.
Started 18 days ago following the calories recommended on MFP, log every food I eat..even the bad stuff and trying to move more. It's been a struggle but trying to do my best each day and not beat myself up if it's not 100% perfect.
GOAL: lose 100 lbs this year

Yes I've been MIA for a while now. I've fallen hard into the ditch of unhealthy habits. The only one of those Drs. I've been seeing lately is the rest doc. I'm a night owl which is horrible for late night eating. I've been in the carbs hard core lately. It's caused a great swing in the wrong direction weight wise. That caused some depression and more eating. Yup got caught up in the cycle of no return...... My first mistake was not continuing with my mobility enhancement exercises once the clinic stopped. It was Christmas and we all know what happens there. Plus cold weather & snow..... became house bound by choice and got way too friendly with my chair and with watching curling/hockey on tv. Read a lot as well. Not great habits to get into.
But I'm happy to say that I stuck out my foot and brought the cycle to a grinding halt (or so I hope). Changing up my eating to just protein and veggies. I have to give up carbs that are not veggies as they are my Kryptonite for sure. Once I start eating bread, buns, pasta etc I can't quit. I'm better off with none. I also got away from drinking water. I'm going to increase my daily intake but not jumping right up to 8 a day....I'll be happy with 6...lol. With the nicer weather now I'm going to start my walking program again starting with 10 minutes a day and every week increase by 5 minutes. I'll walk over to the arena and do my mobility enhancement circuit on my own. I can't afford to keep paying $75 for 8 weeks. Not with the way everything else keeps increasing in price. By the end of this week maybe I'll be good friends with all these Doctors!! lol

Thanks for the welcome. I know my goal is set high and is probably a bit unrealistic but even though I'm shooting for the stars I'll be just as happy if I make it to the moon. 50 lbs would be great. I'm so glad I found this group and am excited to see everyone's progress throughout 2024.2
