@trooworld Getting off early is good! I know you enjoyed your time off. Hi, all. It’s cold and cloudy here. I worked out on the bike this morning. DH and I had our yearly doctors’ appointments this afternoon. The doctor noticed that I had lost 10 pounds this year and asked if it was intentional. I said yes and gave MFP the credit as he had recommended it last year. My son is grilling chicken for our family meal. I made a salad and we have corn on the cob to microwave. It’s not as good as the corn we’ll get this summer but it’s okay. I ate a protein bar for a snack and now I’m eating some fresh pineapple.0

@trooworld I always "rice" a head of cauliflower with my food processor and then bag up 1 c servings and keep them in my freezer. So technically it was fresh and frozen. lol I like cheesy cauliflower rice so I keep those on hand for a quick snack when I need some comfort food. In the ingredients it listed it as 1 16 oz package of rice. I always jump right to the recipe and never read all the things they write. I'm too impatient.
@fabgeekmom That's so nice that your dr noticed and asked about the weight loss. Fresh corn is nice in the summertime.
I went out with a friend for dinner and my dh is out of town so I made ds some Salisbury steak with gravy and sweet potatoes in the crockpot. I'm having that for leftovers tomorrow0 -
@theslightedgeforever My DH loves Salisbury steak and gravy but that is one thing my son and I don’t make. My cousin makes it and brings him some. I love having leftovers.0

Morning all, sorry the last couple of days I had to choose exercise or get on here. LOL. So today no exercise, but I am on here. I have been getting on my treadmill walking when I get home from taking baby girl to school. I need the movement. LOL
@trooworld take out is expensive isn't it. I just yelled at DH like if you guys want to eat dinner, you have to give me a few minutes in the morning to get it started or don't eat the choice is yours...LOL. I love Sweet Potatoes.
@theslightedgeforever oh that sounds so good...did you make home made salisbury steak? I buy the frozen pre-made. LOL Glad you are getting your focus back.

Morning, I am sitting here eating my protein mug cake. I tried a different protein powder and yea well I won't buy it again. LOL. Going to try to walk to day, I just have so many appointments, not sure I will get it done.
@trooworld do you like breakfast burritos? I have a recipe I make up and freeze. I should have had one this morning instead of this yucky mug thing. LOL Great. job on less snacks from the machine.
@fabgeekmom Yea for the pool..maybe this year I will use our pool more than I have in years past. I haven't decided if we are having subs, or spaghetti tonight..LOL Either way lots of carbs.

@trooworld Yes, the pool is indoors and heated. Bringing snacks to work is a good idea. My son discovered Atkins nacho protein chips. I had some with lunch and they were good. @cbabie I love swimming. I can raise my heart rate without hurting myself. Hi, all. It is raining and cold today. I went grocery shopping with my son as he has the day off. I didn’t want to get out but it was worth it as he is a big help when I shop. Tonight we are having ATK ground beef and cheese enchiladas. We are using 93/7 ground beef and low fat cheese which will reduce the calories. I just got off the bike. I don’t like to exercise in the afternoon but sometimes I have no choice.0

@trooworld Too bad about the weight gain. It’s good to have a weekend without plans. Hi, all. The sun is out today, finally! Maybe we’ll have some spring weather. I made steel cut oats in the instant pot this morning. I followed a Skinnytaste recipe. I hadn’t eaten them in a while and they were good and filling. Today is a swim day. We aren’t doing steak tonight as we will be eating heavily this weekend. My son is making ATK potato salad and lemon cake. Plus baking a ham. So tonight we’re having shrimp that he made to go with grits a few weeks ago. Plus some tuna that I will sear. I’m making grits but leaving out the butter. Today is a swim day.0

I just deleted my Weight Watchers app after years of being on WW. I just haven’t made much progress there. And at $25 a month why?? So here I am on this site and I’m going to count calories instead of points. I think that’s going to hold me much more accountable to what I stick in my mouth, I’m glad to see some WW people here and hope to join your community2

@gemwolf110 I am glad to hear from you! Too bad about the weigh gain. @trooworld Sorry about your dod’s reaction to the weather and your headache. My joints often hurt when the weather changes. The pork tenderloin and cheesy cauliflower sound good. I love ramen. @Crowegirl49 Welcome to our group. I am a former Lifetime member. I deleted my app when the studio was too far to drive to. Happy Easter all, Sorry the work I had done on my mouth, just wore me out. I am bruised on the right side of my face..LOL. I am sure I am not going to eat healthy today and not even going to worry about it. It's raining here and church was to be outside with an easter egg hunt for the kids. I am sure all will be inside now. LOL
@trooworld I will share the recipe for the burritos on my next post. (I have to go find it, I have it on chicken scratches..LOL It's basically ground turkey, eggs, a little milk, onion, bell pepper, spinach, spices (I have to tone it done for my tasted buds. LOL) and the shell you want to use. Everyone here loves them. I hope you have a great Easter and have fun working on your Art. I draw stick figures. LOL
@fabgeekmom Yum, lemon cake sounds yummy!! It's so nice you have your son to help. You are a better person, I am not sure I could exercise in the PM, that's why I am not consistent right now.

The weather is still nice so I went for a walk. I also rode my indoor bike. Lunch was a salad with tuna and reduced fat feta. I ate a half package of protein chips. I’m going to relax the rest of the day. Dinner is leftovers from last night plus an ATK recipe for string beans as we ate most of the collards. We’ll probably finish the cake and potato salad. We’ll eat ham sandwiches for a few days before I freeze it for later.0

. Getting the hang of this new program. I pre-planned some meals using skinny taste. I was able to load them into the mail planner. I use that a lot with WW makes meal planning very easy. The only hard thing is sticking to your plan!0

I walked for 36 min today with hubby. We didn't finish our usual route because he said his back was twinging. But we did get out there. Can't believe tomorrow is April. This first quarter of the year has really flown by. Did you meet your quarterly goals? I can tell you I didn't. So what will be your goals the rest of spring?0 -

Afternoon all, I wish I could say it was sunny and warm out...but it's gray and cold out. LOL. I did walk today on my treadmill, but not long enough. The plan was to get back on we will see if I follow the plan.

@theslightedgeforever Oh so glad you and DH got out to walk. Great job..little movement is better than no movement. (at least that is what I tell myself.). I didn't meet any goals. and I am having a hard time writing them down today. That's my first goal. LOL. I want to lose more weight, tone my muscles, get more sleep and stress less. ( yes I know I have to put numbers/deadlines to them). LOL But you know you meet them better when you don't put a deadline on it. JK

Always remember on goals: Measure the gain and not the gap. Look at what you did right and then do better next quarter. Like in a race, improve your time just a little bit.
@trooworld What's one action step you can do this quarter to stop gaining?
@cbabie You got on the treadmill. That's an improvement. So what's the easiest way to tone your muscles. I know you need easy right now.
@fabgeekmom You remind me of someone that has a black belt. I was listening to a podcast about Getting Things Done. (a book by David Allen-it's a whole productivity system) The host was saying that in karate there are different belts. As people get better at doing katas and such they move up belt colors. In productivity as we get better with our routines and habits we move up until we have mastered it. It made me think of this journey of weight loss. We all start out as white belts and then some of us get stuck on yellow or green but we can keep on practicing the skills that will take us to black.

Morning all,
I didn't get back on the treadmill, it was a day. Today, I want to do hand weights for my arms. So trying to plan my day after I get this typed. I am forgetting to do so many things, mostly because I never "take" time to sit down and do my brain dump. I used to be faithful with that. Eating was not good at night..like I said it was a day and I said why not take a sliver of cake...why not then also have that ice cream..so why not was my day.
@theslightedgeforever I plan to sit down and put a time line on goals I want to make this month and this quarter. I can't believe that my lifes routine will be changing again come May (schools out). LOL. So what belt level are you? LOL
@trooworld I am glad you like this nutritionist better. I think Water is the key it's good for our skin our tummys and our bladders. LOL. I think the rain and wind are gone now. (at least I hope so)
@Crowegirl49 I am not sure it's being too lazy as it is boredom. I think when we do something new we like it, and then as we get to doing it for so long it just becomes something we mindlessly do and we want to be challenged. I haven't been tracking in so long, it's really not about being lazy or hard, it's I just have tracked for so long I don't want to do it anymore...EVEN though I know it's how I lose weight. So I need to challenge myself..LOL

@cbabie Instead of an all at once brain dump, can you record as you go? I have an app that I talk into and it sends it straight to my Trello inbox. What if everytime you were sitting on the toilet you processed your inbox. Lock the door, put on headphones and that's your office time for a moment. Sometimes that's the only quiet time you get. Sometimes not. I had a child who would beat on the door saying Mommy Mommy Mommy. But I trained him not to do that. You don't bother me, I won't bother you. Have you done your hand weights? Belt level. I'm probably stuck on yellow. You will always have seasons of life til you die. So the trick is to plan out your ideal day/week for in-school time. Plan your ideal day for no school time. You can do this by using a different calendar for each one and then just refer back to the one that is needed so you don't have to reinvent the wheel each time. You can do little necessary tweaks about the time you will begin a new season.

I forgot to mention hubby and I walked the mall yesterday. Wasn't much but something.

Morning all, no I did not get the weights in. In fact I felt miserable all day, the baby didn't take a nap until 5:30pm and then I had a hard time getting him in bed...Yes I am glad yesterday is gone. I still have that bruise on my cheek and I still can't open my jaw very wide..you would think it would keep me from eating..LOL. NOT!!! Baby girl and I talked about healthy eating yesterday, we are going to both try to do better.
@trooworld Maybe a miracle will happen and you will maintain or lose..LOL. I say don't speak it.. Glad you enjoyed dinner!
@theslightedgeforever I laughed at your comment about an app that takes you to trello...I thought of course she does, she is so organized...I think you stole that gene from me, I used to have it. LOL. Good for you on the walk and yes anything is better than none.(like me). Giving your advice some thought, thank you for sharing ideas.
@fabgeekmom Oh how fun to do morning puzzles, I am assuming more like word or maze puzzles? My DD and I have a puzzle (pieces) started and it just sits, we never seem to have a quiet moment in this house to work it. I am so glad they invented air fryers...what would we do without them. Kind of like when dishwashers came out..LOL

By puzzles I mean word puzzles. I do several crossword puzzles during the day. My favorite is the Spelling Bee on The NY Times app.0

@fabgeekmom What audiobook were you listening to? Great job on your bike I like word puzzles and word games. I play Words with Friends everyday with a friend of mine. She beats me every single game but I do it strictly for the challenge of making words.

@cbabie What if you were to give baby boy two of his toys that he could hold in each hand. Then he could imitate you while you do hand weights. His attention span is really short so you might only get one set in but better than not doing it at all. In certain things I'm organized and then in certain things I'm not. Because I'm neurodivergent, I've learned that I have to be extremely structured to get anything done. But then on the other hand I can get so distracted I don't follow my structured plan and end up doing NOTHING. But I'm getting better. A work in progress. I'm just finding different tools to help me along.
I made chicken chow mein tonight and got in lots of good vegetables. My garlic press broke and I bought a cheap one at Dollar Store. That is worthless. So I heard about using a lemon zester for garlic and it worked really good.0
