Afternoon all, yesterday was a bust..Wed are so busy for me. I have to take baby girl to and from school twice. But she enjoys the afternoon class she is in. It's worth it. I still haven't exercised. To be honest, I had a thought, (short lived). LOL. What if I was to really not have any goals, just relax, crochet, read, walk when I felt like it, cook healthy food and live life..now there is a thought. LOL Reality sits in..nope I have 2 little ones, I don't want to die early, so need to keep moving and what my nutrition, the rest will come.

@trooworld So sorry about getting woke up by the smoke..at least it wasn't your house!!! Sorry about the job issue. Hopefully today is much better with your sleep and job! Glad you had fun with the eclipse.

@fabgeekmom great job on getting on the bike as well as doing your other exercise. I have never had protein chips..are they good? I might have to look for those. Sometimes you just need to have some crunchy food.

@theslightedgeforever I could have made a better choice, but I have not had Wendy's in years and I love the double stack and decided I was going to eat it and enjoy it. :) You are getting back on your routine! Great job on tracking and keeping you body moving. I think I am in a slump with my exercise. I really like my treadmill, but I swear if I don't do it early in the morning, I just don't want to do it at all...and baby won't stay out of my room..I need to do it when he naps..like right now. :)

@renaegry Yes that Chicken sounds good, I think I just wanted the double stack and just ate it...LOL. Great job on the jog. I joined the apple fitness as it's free for 3 months, but I haven't even opened it..so good job in using your program.

@cbabie You have a lot going on. But try to improve your nutrition. I think that’s more important than exercise. Hopefully you can find easy meals to prepare. The protein chips are good. I’ve tried 2 brands: Quest and Atkins. They have the same amount of calories as regular chips but are more satisfying because of the protein.

Morning all, jumping on here before the day really gets going..LOL. Had a sick kid at home from school yesterday, so not much was done on my exercise or nutrition. I didn't even get to sleep well last night, but it's Friday, she went to school today and I am determined to get somethings done this weekend.

@fabgeekmom Yes you are correct, when I went to WW, I lost a lot of weight and never exercised. It was more about getting my weight down. Its funny we lose sight of what is right and take the bunny trails. Thank you for the reminder, nutrition is the first, the rest will follow. Especially if I have the energy to do the things I need to do.

@trooworld hate those trolls..LOL. my cartoon brain kicked in... maybe it's a sign your weight is "LOwer" this week? I always take those signs and run with them. :) I can "hear" your scale talking to you.
Seriously how would you like to live in my brain? NOT, if you think I am weird, you should have met my Mom. You are right if I put weight back on...I would be miserable to be around. LOL I would feel lethargic and my kids would have no one to do things with them.

@trooworld Happy Library Week! My daughter is a librarian so I especially appreciate the work librarians do. Good luck with the scale. @cbabie It’s too bad baby girl was sick but good she went to school today. I hope you get back to healthy eating. Hi, all. I’m sluggish today. I had gone to bed last night and was awoken by a weather alert for a possible tornado in our area. When I first heard the alarm I thought the house was on fire! Luckily there was no tornado and the wind died down. I was able to go back to sleep but I didn’t sleep well. And of course, I woke up at the usual time. We went swimming today. Tonight is steak night.

Morning all, it was warm here yesterday, but baby boy was cranky, sneezing wiping his nose all day and night. So I didn't really get much done AND we had pizza for dinner.. I never eat pizza, but I didn't feel like cooking anything, so...YEP I am swollen today. AND I have heartburn. Tell me again why I ate the pizza? LOL. Going to sit down and meal plan today, get food and hopefully that way next week will be much better nutrition wise.

@fabgeekmom I have never been in a tornado alert that I can remember. That would have freaked me out. Hopefully you got some rest last night. Yea on your swimming. LOL I just read a note from the teacher to all parents..please let her know when your child will be out on Friday's (assessment day) seems to be a lot of MIA's on Fridays.. Glad mine wasn't one of them. LOL

@trooworld Thank you for you kind words to me. Yes my mom was wonderful and I miss her. I hope your scale gives you good news.. :). jumping on the scale to me is kind of like trying to tip toe in the house and hope the floor doesn't creak..cause then EVERYONE knows your up..LOL

@fabgeekmom Yaay on your exercise and recognizing when you were full. I agree with nutrition being more important than exercise but I don't think it can just be an either OR. If one leg is missing the stool will still fall over. I hate tornadoes. I've been in two of them. Glad your wind died down.

@cbabie I did my Apple Fitness for 3 months and then cancelled. There wasn't anything that interested me that I couldn't get for free on YouTube. I think you have forgotten the tornado alerts in your old age. :) You grew up in same house as me. Although the two tornadoes I was in we lived in different parts of the state.

@trooworld So chug the water if that is what it takes. Coffee-flavored water may be good. When we do a colonoscopy we will drink liquids that don't really taste the best. Days of just liquids. But on our regular normal days we just say yes but.......this is why we are still not at our goal weight. National Library Week No wonder I saw so many book things on social media lately. I'm waiting for you to give me my journal prompt.

So I've been out of town past two days. My son got engaged and we had a big party at the new "inlaws" house. Very nice family. She has been good for my son's health journey. She's teaching him all about environment. Change your environment and you change your health. She can't blame environment on me cause he doesn't listen to anything I say or eat what I cook most of the time. lol

@trooworld Good luck with the scale. Too bad about the weather. @cbabie Pizza happens. Unfortunately sometimes heartburn does, too. Find something simple to meal plan. Perhaps buy healthy meats, vegetables and grains. Then put together meals. @theslightestedgeforever I agree. Exercise and healthy eating are important. Hi, all. I slept better last night. It’s still windy but I managed to go for a 30 minute walk. I also rode the bike for 20 minutes. I have to close those rings! Tonight my son is making loaded beef and bean nachos for family dinner. I made a fruit salad with mangoes, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and bananas.

@trooworld I don’t blame you for not weighing! That is great that you sold your art work. @theslightedgeforever I forgot to congratulate you on your son’s engagement. Hi, all. Today is the most spring like day we’ve had in a while. I plan to go for a walk. Tonight my son is grilling turkey burgers. Salad and tater tots with round out the meal.

@fabgeekmom The loaded nachos sound really good along with the fruit salad. plus grilled turkey burgers Yum

@trooworld What's holding me back? Myself for one My procrastination thinking oh I'll do it later.
Other people's schedule affecting mine. Not being consistent every day Yaaay on another piece of art sold.

    Thanks for the congratulations.

So far I have done 20 min walking and 65 oz water I'm still good on the tracking. Chicken shawarmas for lunch since I didn't go grocery shopping yet from our trip. That's tomorrow's plan.

I thought this an interesting article especially the part about what kind of cheater are you?

@trooworld Sorry about your neighbor. Part of my motivation to live a healthy lifestyle is due to my dad’s morbid obesity and lack mobility before he died. Hi, all. I glanced at the article that @theslightedgeforever posted. Very interesting. But change cheating to staying on plan. To me, cheating has a negative connotation. Today is a swim day. We have burger from last night for lunch. Dinner is turkey ragu from last week.

@theslightedgeforever Son graduated last year so no hockey and football this year. Opened up a lot of time in the day. Lol. Daughter is just in school volleyball (Sept/oct) and track in May so running around is minimal

Crappy weather moving in this week. Will be back on the treadmill. Fitness class Monday and Wednesday this week.

Morning all, I am planning on taking baby boy out for a walk when I am done here. It's going to be close to 100 this week..UGH, it's too early for that kind of weather. This weekend was okay...I didn't eat overboard yesterday, but still no exercise.

@renaegry Sounds like your kids just opened up your schedule to be more of YOUR scheldule.LOL. Sorry about the crappy weather, it's such a buzz kill..LOL

@theslightedgeforever Our children never listen to us...we don't know anything. LOL. Congrats on being on target and getting your routine back. I don't remember being in a tornado, but I do remember warnings. I think the house on Cole St would have blown away, with that open field next to us. LOL I signed up too for Apple fitness, but haven't even opened it. I still have Bodi that I don't use consistently.

@trooworld YEA!!!! on selling your art. That must be exciting. We all need a wake up call usually, some for weight, some for finances, some for being a work alcoholic, etc. I am sorry to hear about your friend. I have a friend who is my age who looks great and younger, she is on a cruise rn and sent a picture. I thought she looks 10 years younger than me..so yes time to get it together. Health is very important, my parents died way too early.

@fabgeekmom yea on walking and biking. I love Turkey burgers!!! I still have to try the cauliflower tater tots. I want to do that this week. I love tater tots. Your fruit salad sounds yummy! The think about meats, is I usually eat after everyone and let them have the meat and whatever we had with it....(I never know how much my DH will eat). you should see his portions ( :o and he is as skinny as they come. I know I need to think of me and my health so I am still here to cook for them..LOL

@renaegry I remember those days when my kids were on everything. It’s good that your son has graduated and you have more time for yourself. @cbabie You need to start thinking of yourself. I always get my portion. Serve yourself first!

Morning, I went for a walk yesterday, and planning on it today. I ate pretty good, but didn't track. My mouth hurting is helping..LOL.

@trooworld your garden sounds yummy!!. Great job on your efforts and successes yesterday. Yes it's warm...hopefully it's just a week and we haven't full blown gone into summer already.

@fabgeekmom it's hard to do that...I almost have to retrain my brain. I am working on understanding that I need to take care of me so that I will be around for them. Thank you for encouraging that.

@trooworld I’m glad you had a good day. Your garden sounds nice. DH has planted tomatoes, yellow squash and butternut squash. In the past we haven’t had luck with squash but he planted early. Hope that helps. He’ll also plant some basil. He has strawberries that he planted last year. @cbabie Good job on the walk. Keep on learning how to be a little selfish. I don’t think anything is wrong with that. Hi, all. DH and I went to Wal-Mart today. We don’t go there that often. I found 2 pairs of jeans and he bought some shorts. I went for a walk after lunch as the weather was nice. Tonight for family dinner my son is grilling chicken teriyaki and zucchini, red onions and red peppers. Plus he’s cooking rice.

@trooworld Eating the popcorn is just a slip up. Perhaps next time say no thank you. We have strawberries that are just ripening. The strawberries don’t ripen the first year they are planted. Hi, all. It’s cloudy here but it’s supposed to be up to 80. Today is a swim day. I have leftover chicken for lunch. My son is grilling pork burgers for dinner.

Morning, I did get to go for my walk yesterday, can't believe it's going to be in the high 90's this week and next. We already have the air on..UGH.. Today is a busy day, but it will go by fast. Not sure what is for dinner yet, that is next on my agenda..after getting baby girl to school. She only has 4 1/2 weeks left, the SUMMER!! LOL

@trooworld that's one thing I am working on trying to have easy access to...something that is easy to grab when I am getting those growlings in my tummy and it isn't a cookie, or a snack bar, etc. So what ideas can we come up with to have already done and ready to eat for the week or for 2 days then repeat..LOL. Agree with @fabgeekmom it's just a slip up.

@fabgeekmom What is a pork burger? I can't eat pork as it makes me retain water, but my family might like it. I didn't know strawberries don't ripen the first year. Oh my family would loved strawberries...I can't keep them in the house. I hope you enjoy your swim day.

@cbabie We use lean ground pork. We use recipes from ATK. Basically like any other meat. 90’s are really hot, especially this early. Hopefully there is an indoor exercise you can do. Hi, all. I spoke too early about the strawberries. They are green and not sure when they will ripen, probably when it gets hotter.

Hey all I've done loads better with my food. I had a bday gathering out with friends last night. I had crispy brussels sprouts for my appetizer and ordered the tacquitos appetizer as my main. Left one on the plate. They ordered a big carrot cake which I said no too so I could have my iced coffee instead. pick and choose my sugar grams.

This morning I went to breakfast with friends. One of my best friends is moving to Hawaii. I chose the shakshuka tacos and just ate the egg/tomato part and left behind the mini tortillas.

So far two days of exercise this week. It won't be happening today as I've had about 3 hours of sleep. The consequence of an iced coffee.

Water has been alot better than last week.

@trooworld The goulash sounds good. Tracking 500 calories is a good idea. Hi, all. I went for a short walk this morning before going to Target with my son. We bought protein bars, protein chips, seltzer water, and some TSA approved containers for lotion for my trip to Yosemite next week. Lunch was leftover burgers and protein chips. Dinner is going to be tacos with lean ground turkey.

Morning, I didn't do ANYTHING yesterday...I just didn't want to..sat on the couch most of the day (if I wasn't chasing the baby). LOL. In May I start another challenge, it's sole purpose is for you to lose weight...I ALWAYS gain..it's almost like I am in rebellion..LOL. We shall see.

@fabgeekmom I have never been to Yosemite..enjoy your trip! My DH would love it if we could just travel, should have bought an RV and not a house..LOL

@trooworld YEA on the weight loss...see you got this. Yes I try to put my snacks even ice cream in a "small" container, so I don't mindlessly eat. My DH does a BOWL and I mean BOWL of ice cream..I think I would be sick. LOL. Enjoy working from home today!!

@trooworld Pot lucks happen! But you’re over it. Good job on limiting the popcorn. It’s a good feeling to be almost finished with a project, especially on the weekend. Congrats on the weight loss. @cbabie Chasing the baby is activity!Good luck on the challenge. Personally I don’t like group challenges as there is too much pressure. Hi, all. I had a busy day. We got up early to go swimming as I had a doctor’s appointment in the afternoon. Tonight is steak night. I’m hungry because I ate my meals earlier than usual. But I will wait until dinner.

@cbabie So what else can you do to lose with with this other challenge? You aren't dead yet. Sell the house, buy an RV and travel.

@trooworld Yaaay on your weight loss and not getting into the cheese popcorn. I can't keep that in my house.

@fabgeekmom Yaay on your walk. How was the dr appt? Yosemite sounds fun. I've never been there. My daughter loved it.

I've tracked everyday so far this week. Closed my rings 3 times. Exercised 3 times.

@trooworld Your dinner sounded good. That was a good combination of foods. The vending machine at the beer bar is neat. Hi, all. It’s chilly here so I worked out on my bike. We had leftover steak for lunch. I ate mine on a salad. We are eating salad and some grilled chicken my son made last Tuesday and put in there freezer. We also have rice. So it’s an easy meal. We are going to see our granddaughter in a regional concert for the school system. I mentioned in an earlier post that she is a drummer. This was something that she tried out for and was accepted.

@theslightedgeforever Good job on tracking and closing your rings. It’s good to get into a routine. The doctor’s appointment was good. It was my routine appointment to get my Prolia injection to prevent osteoporosis. @trooworld That was a good idea to throw out the popcorn and plan for a treat. I’m glad you enjoyed the play. Hi, all. The concert was good last night. There were 2 groups: the sixth and seventh graders. Also a performance of a group playing the steel drums. The director of music spoke a bit about the importance of the arts in school. As in many schools there is talk about reducing the money spent on the arts. The guest conductor was a high school band instructor. He told us that he had dropped out of college, was homeless and then went back to school. Now he had a master’s degree and is not homeless. It was touching to see what music and the arts can do for a person.

@fabgeekmom Steak and salad sounds good. Did you enjoy your bike ride? I love drum lines in a band. Yes arts are so important in school.

@trooworld Yaaay on balancing out your day. I would have enjoyed your concert. I enjoy the arts.

I'm headed to the gym when I finish this. I made one of the MFP recipes today. Ground turkey ? on cauliflower rice. I forgot the word they used. Basically ground turkey with indian spices and peas in it. Dh and I were going to go to a cafe for coffee and errands and I prepared it early so he wouldn't say let's just eat out. My calories have been running about 100 over each day. So I'm trying to work on that this week.

@trooworld I’m glad you had a good day and enjoyed the meal you made. @theslightedgeforever Yes, I enjoyed my bike ride. I’m so happy that my daughter shares her Peloton app with me. The workouts are always fun and I can do a new one every time I workout. That was a great idea to prepare a meal instead of eating at the cafe. Eating out is hard and usually more calories than we actually track. Of course, we are not going to stop eating out, maybe just limit it. Hi, all. Today was a swim day and the water felt good. I am always tired after swimming and now am sitting in my chair wrapped up. Tonight we are having burgers, salad and fries. Easy meal.
