How About We Don't Delete Newsfeeds

Even though I only have a couple of friends, we have supported each other for over 4000 consecutive days, and we are very upset. This was a terrible decision. I will. no longer pay for Premium and will not recommend to others. It is a sad day on MFP.8

Super bummer. I need the support from certain folks on a regular basis.
Now just a $50 calorie tracker? I paid for premium for me and my daughters -- mainly so we could easily connect and support. I'll be canceling mine (not that it matters to anyone!) and my girls.
Just wish they would have announced prior to my April renewal.4 -
Join Lose It. So many peeps are there now. Search for MFP Exodus Group4

I don't think that the forum is toxic. I've gotten nothing but helpful advice and great support since I've joined. If there are any trolls, they're probably on some of the more frivolous chit-chat threads that tend to attract men seeking women for non-health and fitness related reasons (I can't think of any other way to put it).9

Now that the newsfeed is gone, looks like I’ll be looking for a replacement app. MFP just isn’t worth the premium fee anymore if there are better trackers out there.
Besides Lose It, any recommendations out there for other tracking apps that work well with iPhone/Apple Watch, which are my primary energy expenditure trackers?
Also looking for easy calorie/meal tracking with a barcode scanning feature and ability to interact with friends/support group easily. Thanks all! Time to go do my homework…2 -

As with most other spaces on the internet, there are a variety of characters here. In stark contrast to the old Weight Watchers forum, I don’t think I have seen any trolls in the strictest sense of the term.
Back in the early days of the Weight Watchers forum there was a person who was probably a high school student, who spent the hours between 3 and 5 PM East Coast time calling everyone else on the forum extremely rude fat phobic slurs. For months. And when Weight Watchers was contacted (by multiple users) they said there was nothing they could do about it. I paid $60 a month in 2006 dollars for the experience of be called a “walrus” daily, and then told by WW there was nothing they could do about it.
By contrast these forums are absolutely delightful. Are there a few users I have butted heads with? Yep. But that’s always been a difference of sincerely held opinions. And we do have an “ignore” option here. If a real troll or spammer or perv shows up, the MFP staff does eventually (in a few hours usually) deal with it.
I will be honest and say that I didn’t think I would miss my newsfeed - but I do.
It was a space where I was in complete control of who got to see what I wanted to share. It was easy to use, too. That’s not the case here.
I would really like it if MFP could find some way to replicate what we had with the newsfeed. Some place that is easy to navigate to, and is, essentially, invite only (friends list)

OH MY GOODNESS. I just tried to turn off my auto renewal for my account and it went to the dreaded strawberry thing. Apparently I am now going to have to spend a bunch of email time trying to get tech support to discontinue premium. How appropriate.6

So the newsfeed still exists, but there are no more automatic updates. Do I see that correctly?
I suppose that means we update it ourselves. Like sharing with our friends when we lost and being honest about it if/when we gained.
I could post my daily short version of the food I eat. So altogether it's up to me if I keep it alive or if I let it go.
Not sure if I am getting it all :-)0 -

Current situation is that for some people automatic updates have stopped, for others the newsfeed has already disappeared entirely. A phased rollout I'm guessing, depending on app version/location/who knows what other criteria.
The newsfeed will disappear entirely in the end, for all of us.3 -
Thanks, so the take the "M" out of MFP. In this case I won't be staying.

This morning my newsfeed button is gone on my iPhone app. It feels weird and sad5

It’s just gone.
Used to be 5 icons, with the newsfeed in the middle.
Now there’s only four icons with no newsfeed.
And the profile is just a mostly blank screen

Yep I have the same as Margaret2

Bring the newsfeed back - Please! #1 reason I’ve been on here for 12 years.7

I miss my newsfeed & being able to see what my friends did for the day. Also the fact that I know they can see what I did for the day easily. I used it as an accountability aspect that my friends can easily see if I worked out for the day & my streaks. I actually don’t see any use for the app now because I only used it to connect & see what friends were doing.6

If you have a smart phone, use the browser there to try logging in. I gave up on the MFP app years ago because it was so glitchy, at least at the time, and I use Safari on my phone to log in. I pretty much just use the forums at this point, so not sure it would work for the dashboard, but I don't know why it wouldn't.2 -
Very bad decision MFP. Take away the key feature that people really like. I have been using this app on and off since 2012. Seen a lot of changes but the newsfeed was the only thing that kept me here. As others have said there are better “ tracking “ apps. I am afraid that this is the beginning of the end.4

How strange that these threads have moved to 'feature suggestions and improvements".😳😳 Does that mean that we are all suggesting improvements? hmmmm4

Pretty sure the threads haven't moved. They've been here for days.1
