Sunday - a 5mile run and feeling pretty decent after a day off yesterday. That makes ovr 700 for the year now running which is behind about 30 from last year but should still make run the year with all my deliberate walking and running miles.

I am glad that I persisted on using the Mizuno shoes and found the 3rd try (1 complete size up) was the charm. They are quite different than others I have and feel really good as far as helping me push off correctly. And to the point when I put on a different pair after wearing them I felt like i had "deflated" my ride. So all good. And no more blisters. Also a side by side compare of fitbit analysis vs Apple watch. GPS on the fitbit is definitely off.

@AlphaHowls how are the Mizus? I've been expanding to new shoe territory. Hokas are okay. Asics are always my go to. OnCloud are the best for the first 10-30 miles and then I feel like they're worse than my oldest pair.
I have used Mizuno and Saucony most of my run time. I tried Asics once, not my favorite, but worked. I like to have one pair of each to alternate. I am more price based than anything. If I can find Saucony under $40.00 and Mizuno under $70.00 ish

Love your haul for Father's Day @tarun_yadavA . Good run and sounds like a nice, relaxing rest of the day.

    Congratulations on finishing a hilly 5K @andja87 .

@SummerSkier Great mileage for the year so far! Love the shoe porn. I really like the color palate. Glad you found what works and are loving them.

Forgot to update here, but 5k on Friday night went ok. My time was about 3:30 slower than my last 5k, but it was very hilly and I ended up doing more walking than running because of it. I was very underprepared to even participate to begin with lol. But I finished and that’s what I’m most proud of!

Easy run today. It was supposed to be 30 minutes. But I ended up running 25 minutes. My body died from the humidity/heat. The sun hits me; I cook. Ended up getting a blister on my left pinkie toe.

I need to practice running more in this weather. I used to be a night runner so the heat wouldn't attack me as bad.

    95°F (35°C) 65% humidity. Kill me.

After my run, I walked to the farmer's market. Window shopping was fun. I had a great chat with a chap working for our state representatives. Walking out of the market, an old missionary approached me asking "hey 'bub. Do you know who runs the world?" while flashing a pamphlet asking the same question with a picture of the cross in the background. I put my right hand to my heart, and told the old man "me". We both chuckled and parted ways.

My right knee has been hurting a bit.
D'oh, of course listen to your body and not your race plan. I hope you're good to go, and avoid the lightening. Have a good race.
