I have never attended a high school reunion. I have been back to my undergraduate school a few times. I may go this year for a colloquium but haven't yet decided.
Got flu shot yesterday. Had made an appointment at a CVS minute clinic (I want to save the pharmacist from the work), got there Friday and it was closed-no staff. Pharmacy couldn't do walk-in so I made a an appointment for yesterday morning at Walgreens. Arm a bit sore but not bad. Main reaction this time is fatigue (I got the old people's super version) and a bit achy off and on and a headache. I napped quite a bit but did get a 2 mile walk in between.
Good visit with family yesterday. Brother with Alzheimer's actually focused fairly well for the first half-then he was tired and needed to go home. We all ate and visited. Other brother and wife stayed for end of game.
Today would have been my husbands 71st birthday.
Going to get ready to head off to bed. I think if I get a solid bit of sleep tonight I can be productive tomorrow/1
Take care all,

Housecleaning etc- 3hrs 18min 49sec, laundry fold/put away, make/refill hummingbird food, bathe/dry Lucy and yogi, etc= 898c
Next Thursday I go to visit my friend in Federal Way, WA.
All I need to ride is 34.66miles to reach my 3500 mile goal.
I won’t be making my 1000 dollar goal but I’m ok with that, I’ll live.

These jerseys represent $1000 (need to raise $1000 to earn a jersey), there are 10 or 11 forgot to count them. Gotta be proud of that

Hello all
I was a lump on a log today.. didnt get a blessed thing done today.. there's always tomorrow..
My internet keeps going out will have to call Verizon and find out whats going on.
Good night all will catch up in the morning.3 -
Heather - So glad that John has a friend. Rodger doesn’t seem to have any anymore. We want to have a surprise party for his 60th but don’t know who to invite.
He actually spoke to his best high school friend yesterday and he may stop in later this month.
Reunions - I never graduated in the traditional manner so no reunions for me. Rodger attended 2 of his, his 10th and 20th he really enjoyed the 10th.
Every time I go home I see a lot of old school friends though.
Lisa - I love the quillow! I hope they sell for you.
Glad your friends Dad is home, hopefully he can be cared for easy enough.
We live near the airport so planes take off and land all day. A plane just flew directly in front of the sun and caused a shadow in the house, what a strange feeling. The sun was just rising at the perfect time.
Margaret - Which State is that? I showed the butter carving to DH. He started telling me about an event in Toronto he went to as a kid. He doesn’t tell stories often so it was nice.
Debbie - I hope your Mom’s roomie left with no issues.
I went to pick Lauryn and the Grands up and we went to Kaitlyn’s today. She did Jonah and Michaela’s hair.
Michaela got cyan streaks and tips along with a little trim. Jonah had a complete change!
Tomorrow is some crafty stuff.

I forgot to mention - in my diabetes prevention class last week, one fellow said he hadn't lost that much weight, and he was disappointed, BUT he just had his labs done and his A1C was down quite a bit and everything else had improved too. He has changed his diet a lot, cutting out meat (I assume red meat like burgers on the grill) but said he eats eggs and sometimes fish, otherwise plenty of veggies.

When people say they cut out meat, they might mean one of the top 8 on this chart. And meat, in the 9th choice, includes everything not including poultry and fish.
https://dconnect.co.nz/what-is-a-plant-based-diet/
Or here's another grouping ... and meat here would again be everything but poultry and fish.

Kim - happy to hear you've possibly run across some help with that medical insurance dilemma. Crossing fingers it gets straightened out and you can move forward with a better plan, and one you can afford. And without that dicey billing.
Lisa - that quillow is adorable. What a great idea - cute little raccoon. What's the material again?
Allie - gosh Tracey is only 2 weeks away! Your high school reunion looked like fun. My 50th was a few years ago, I didn't go but one of my classmates took a lot of photos and gave a "report", lol. So I got the scoop and didn't have to buy a plane ticket. Many of my classmates are FB friends so I keep up with them. I think the last one I attended was my 20th.

thanks Lanette-
Yes, the room mate is totally out of the house- didn't even say good bye.
She took her trailer with her(the one she was supposed to stay in when she first got there, not live IN the house) which is fine BUT, there was one of the migrant workers that was staying in it(no one was using it and he needed a place to stay). He wasn't paying mom anything to stay on the property but he was doing so much work in the yard for her- great help. So, the room mate took the trailer, never did tell the guy or mom's friend who was able to speak Spanish to David. David came home from work and the trailer was gone. Mom had no idea that Joanne hadn't mentioned her moving out to either of the guys(she talked to the friend all the time). So, Mom is letting him sleep on an air mattress in her garage. He is still cooking in her garage(she has a second stove/oven in there along with fridges and freezers) and he uses the bathroom in the house. She won't let him move in the house. Doesn't feel comfortable with that. She is pretty sure he will be going back to Mexico after harvest- he speaks no English and mom doesn't speak Spanish- .
She will be ok by herself but I will be going up more plus I am contacting friends to see if they can each go out once a month to visit with her. I have also talked to her about her going to visit one friend/cousin a week. Will be good for her plus they will love a visit.
Hopefully one of the ladies we have contacted with Care.com will work out. Need a break for dh soon
Reunions are great. I live just over an hour from where I grew up. I will stay at mom's for the weekend when we have our reunion. I just got a friend request from a girl I went to school with since 5th grade- Hadn't been able to contact her the past few reunions. She has never been to any of them. Found out that she may be doing the same craft fair that I will be in November. I have seen her I think twice in the past 44 yrs.

So many things to comment, please if I forgot/left you out do not be offended. I read everything but …
Heather shopping? Writing? Bravissima! Beth thankful the spot in the better place opened up for your mom. Rita keep those inspiring MyPlate pics coming. Margaret you look so relaxed and happy at the state fair, testament to your commitment to wholesome eating lifestyle. Lisa Sleep, yay! Vertigo, boo! Quillows=so cute! Rosemarie happy to hear your son and his family are moving nearer. Vicki hoping your workload has eased. Allie keep those sMyles pics coming.
Michele I can feel your fears for Denise and PJ, but you’re right there is not much you can do. Swimming at your hotel will be a great memory for him. I wouldn’t offer to help Denise clean, when Mama would do that I could feel her judgement. Maybe take PJ out for walks or to the zoo to give her a break/rest? Lanette thanks for all the research, I copy the links for “later” Annie you are doing so well with your Dad, the church friend sounds like a good solution for both the board commitment and for keeping an eye on him when he’s there. Debbie rejoicing your Mom’s roommate is GONE!!! ((hugs)) for the loss of Miso. Fingers X’d an angel can be found to deal with your MIL. Rori hooray for “Have N will travel.” Kim that Medicare insurance Mess is horrific. Praying for a swift and fair resolution, thankful your therapist is understanding and on your side. Ginny glad to see retirement date on the horizon, would you remind me which place you decided on? Pip have to :laugh: laugh at your “taking it easy” days with such high calorie burns. Machka oh the train trip, the new house, the return to coloring, just so very happy for you. Carol that “hot to the touch” knee doesn’t sound right. Have you called the surgeon? Betsy welcome home. Flea you are so brave to do the work you do. Mo I’m in awe of your vocation and great heart. Barbie would you share the name of the group who offer medical transport? Hoping there’s a national or regional connection. I hear you about those “loving suggestions” our DH’s can make when they can’t be doing… ;}
Mooch is settling in well, Took him to dog group 3 Saturdays ago and several remembered him from before. The next Saturday when I was leashing him up, Shadow gave me a heartbroken look as if to say “Don’t I get to go???” so I chanced it and took them both. They were very well behaved and Shadow seemed to pull a bit less when walking with Mooch. Dog group has been the only activity I’ve been up for the past three weeks.
New ladies don’t know, but I do not feel liberated or energized by decluttering, instead I feel diminished and grief. BUT, maybe if I paid better attention to my house, I’d like it better. Bit the bullet and signed up for the Clutterbug’s 30 day challenge. Fear and trembling but day 1 (coat closet) done. 8 spacesaving coat hangers, 1 blazer to donation box, 3 boxes miscellany inventoried and into car for thrift store tomorrow, puppy pads boxed, labeled and garaged. It might work. Tomorrow’s challenge is kitchen counters. Will count “putting things away” towards the “get 5 things out” goal. Not her process but I have to do me. . . Keeping a wish list of organizing things I want to buy for a reward after 30 days done.
Time to snooze so I’ll have energy to get back to BB&B and line dancing tomorrow.
Later, lighter, lovelies!

Good morning beautiful ladies!
Pip so many miles! That pile of jackets is so impressive! Yay!
Debbie glad your mother's roommate is gone. Yay!
@frenchfancy2014 Welcome!
Things are about the same here. I owe a letter to a friend and don't know what to write.
I gained weight last month. I'm getting so close to 200 and I have never in my life been this heavy. I wanted to be slimmer for my trip to Las Vegas, but I'm going the wrong way. I'm forced to buy new larger clothes instead. Bummer.
On the positive side, Teddy and Dad are doing well. I was afraid Dad would get lost this summer, but that never happened. He is a little more confused but overall healthy. Every day that I still have both of them is a treasure.
Have a great day! May you all be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Hello, my chickens,
@frenchfancy2014 - Welcome, we're glad you're here! Let us know a name you'd like to be called, and a vague location, so we can remember you, and join in any conversation where you feel comfortable. Tons of support available here, hope to see you again soon!
Barbara AHMOD - So glad Mooch has made himself part of the fam so quickly. Proud of you for decluttering, I know you really struggle with it!💖
Apparently, decluttering is in the air. I needed to figure out what I actually have that will supply my now-very-active sewing life, so I decided the 12-drawer chest I kept of my mothers would be the perfect thing for sewing notions, sewing machine feet and tools, etc., hand sewing, crochet needles etc. Somehow, I ended up with four rolls of iron-on tape... that's why I needed to look at everything! 🤪🤔👀
But to get there, I had to go through 15 years of STUFF in that chest that we literally hauled all over the country. I threw away ten pounds of things we will never look at again! Pleased about that. Kept some screws, washers, nuts and bolts, etc., for Corey's shop and used the decorative boxes in the living room for other things like Corey's keepsakes, all our batteries, change, etc. I'm very much what Cas calls a Ladybug, I want to be able to get to it without having to look at it all the time!
I'm taking a break from finishing up that room. I've emptied five file boxes of sewing/crafting stuff by moving things around a bit, and putting lots of things into the 12-drawer chest. Also moved the smaller furniture around a bit to make the chest accessible when I'm at the sewing machine. The boxes will come in handy for the things I'm making for the crafts sales.
I was in such a declutter mood that when I put my earrings on, I found myself cleaning out my top drawer in the bathroom where I keep them, along with dozens of other things that needed to be pitched or moved to their real home! 👀🤣 Had to restrain myself to keep from looking at the other two drawers...
First the usual Monday morning, after I take Corey a cup of coffee (actually has Labor Day off). Then I need to get my meds set up for the week and get back into that craft room!
Later, babies,
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR

Good morning ladies!
Happy Labor (Labour) Day to those who celebrate it. Traditionally the last outdoor BBQ gathering in my area.
Tracey - I can't remember - is Kaitlyn a hair stylist by profession? Yes, what a huge change for Jonah. Love the streaks in Michaela's hair.
Barbara - so glad Mooch is settling in and Shadow got to go along. Very happy to hear you are getting your energy back. Thank you for reminding me about decluttering.
Debbie - hoping Care.com comes through with a helper for MIL. Your reunion sounds like it will be lots of fun.
Lisa - nice that Corey has the day off! Good job going through things and getting them organized and tossing if needed. Great feeling.
We have cool weather here for a couple days, then back into a mini heat wave toward the end of the week. Summer sputtering out. Looking forward to more tomatoes ripening and I'll be busy picking Aronia berries. The bush is loaded, branches bending. Not the tastiest (choke berries!) but good addition to recipes with other berries which help sweeten them up since they aren't very sweet and so astringent on their own. And they are a purple superfood, native to North America. Thanks to the bird who dropped a seed in one of my flower beds years ago.
Welcome new ladies, by the way.
Make it fabulous week!

Lisa ~ I hear you on the decluttering. I have had an itch to get rid of stuff piled up in the corners of my bedroom. I call it my bedroom because DH has been sleeping in what used to be the guest room and finally got him to move most of his guns, clothes, shoes, etc into that room. Left me closet space and drawer space. Now I have a huge 30 gal. bag filled with odds and ends that I have been wanting to get rid (some from the kitchen and some appliances that I never use). I will need DH's help to get the bag in the car and hope he doesn't decide to snoop through it. He is a hoarder at heart and it is almost impossible for him to let go of anything. Next plan is to donate some beautiful coats that belonged to my mom . After that her purses. I have hung on to these for the last 8 yrs. Time to let go.

Barbara - The challenge is 5 things in 5 minutes. The idea is to build your decluttering muscles from zero to hero, not to overdo it! I found 5 things this morning, 3 trash and 2 donate. No burn out. No grief. No rearranging. The longer you practice, the more you will begin to enjoy it. I have got to the point where I absolutely love it. Today I put a beautiful vintage evening top, that I bought in Lausanne, and adore, into the donate pile . It fitted me when I was 28 pounds lighter. Plus a bolero that just doesn't delight me and I never choose to wear.
Just stick to the brief and don't overwhelm yourself. The idea is to build that muscle, not to exhaust it.

I know its a tough thing letting go, but having them travel on, maybe be someone's favorite coat is a nice thing. If not now, when? I know for me having my kids having to go thru everything when we pass, well I want that experience as painless as possible. I have our suitcases up in our closets so technically anyone can clear clothes out by using those. I try to keep the amount of clothes in relation to the amount 2 suitcases, and a duffle bag would hold. It just keeps (in my mind) things in perspective.
Hugs!

Hello all! Happy September! Thank you Barbie bringing us into this new month!
I think the last time I was on here, I was experiencing glitches on my computer. I had to go computerless for a while; then my DYS gave me his laptop to use. It seems there is always a bit of a learning curve with different technology, browsers, etc. Took me a while. Then I got caught up in end of summer/August goings on with my childcare business. Busy, busy, busy. BUT...now I am breathing a little easier as the big kids start back to school this week. I have been "on vacation" since last Wednesday. (I remembered how exhausted I was at the end of summer, when I made out my vacation time for this year, back in January! That was a good decision.) I made a to-do list, then did only what absolutely had to get done. THEN, I started to feel guilty about my lack of motivation, so I made another to-do list with only one goal listed. Gain 5 pounds by Monday. lol I bought the chips, bought the beer, ate them, ate nachos, binge watched a new show, didn't take walks if I didn't feel like it. Weighed myself this morning and I lost one pound. I feel really good, though, about NOT meeting my goal.
I have enjoyed everyone's pictures of grands, crafts, flowers, vacations and have been cheering you on as I have read of successes and good news. I have been sending healing waves to all who need them and big hugs to those dealing with loss or caring for others.
Clutter- We don't have a lot of clutter; but there are a few things I would like to go through and get rid of. But first, I would need to get rid of my hubby. lol He has a tight hold to some things. He is one of those, "I might need this, just in case" type of people. Really? Tell me, WHEN are those two bins of Bill Cosby sweaters going to come back into fashion?
Well, I am going to sign off with a big hug. I do need to do a few things today to be ready for kids tomorrow. I have to make some soups that I can pour into a cup and carry with me while I tend to kids. The creamy vegetable soup is a for sure choice. Probably tomato as well. I am very happy to be back with the three year and younger age group. This year, I will have 12 kids here everyday. The oldest is 3 1/2 years old. The youngest is 3 months. I have 11 in diapers (two or three might be potty trained this fall, fingers crossed). But 11 in diapers x 4 diapers/kid = 44 diapers a day. About 3 minutes changing time per diaper = 132 minutes a day on diaper changing. That is a little over 2 hours. lololol I live a strange life.
