Crazy week. Dishwasher was an easy fix. Have been snacking, eating too much even with logging. I need to reign that in and figure out why I'm caving.
@cupcakesandproteinshakes sorry to hear about your MIL
@SwimBikeRunRepeat good luck with your new training program
@ManifestingToday thanks again for this group
Thanks, @tishsmith101! You're headed in the right direction. Don't let a little bump deter you. Keep plugging away! 💪1 -

Have finally gotten back to tracking all food intake calories. I know that doesn’t work well for everyone but it works great for me. Helps me plan and helps me avoid mindless eating. I end up only eating when actually hungry, and eating mostly nutrient dense food out of necessity. Also taking supplements that are intended to relieve bloating so we’ll see.

I worked until 11pm last night, which sucks, but I think kept me from snacking, so win? And mother nature is gracing us with more snow tonight, so I might be shoveling in the morning too. I don't know how I feel about these mandatory workouts! 🤣
@cupcakesandproteinshakes I am very sorry to hear about your mother in law, but I'm glad that you can be there for her. My thoughts are with you and your family. 💛
@SwimBikeRunRepeat I hope the new training program works out great -- Best of luck!
@jennigerding19 I wish I had the coordination for Zumba, it looks fun. I deal with foot pain too -- When it gets really bad, I've shifted to seated workouts. If the pain flares up again, maybe you can rotate between Zumba and something like that? It at least keeps me going vs. stopping altogether. I just know how it feels to be sidelined by that type of discomfort.
@canadamarie I hope you continue to see some great results with the tracking and supplements. You know you've got this!
@tishsmith101, @Kupla71 and everyone: I wish I could take credit for the group; it was actually started back in 2018 by kellyswimmer. I dropped out of running this group a couple of years ago -- someone else managed it for a bit, and I don't really know how I ended up running it again, LOL! 😂
Have a great Friday, everyone!5 -

Minor bump. You've got this! 💪🏻4 -
@cupcakesandproteinshakes I am so sorry to hear about your MIL, focus on family , and come back to this when your ready..
@ManifestingToday - cute play on words about the balance ! I think I am getting a bit better with it..
still love having the option. I can easily drag it into the living room and instead of sitting there in my recliner I can get a few more steps in. Movement Movement Movement! So much of it comes down to that, and we often get too focused on the one hour workout sessions during the week but that isn't going to get us there. I hope your shoveling and work schedule settle some.
@SwimBikeRunRepeat - I would love to hear about what your new training program is? I recently started incorporating Caroline Girvanes Lift sessions into my schedule. They are tough and I have to modify some of her leg stuff but its helped me get some structure on my weekly weight training. Lots of good programs out there.
@dannytrees1 - ooh watch out , your right on my heels with your new numbers!
@Melissa6107- way to go on your first week! Its all about dialing in those little details and figuring out what works and what doesn't. Its a process and as you can see usually a roller coaster ride but staying the course , getting into a routine and sticking with it will get you the progress. Glad you're here.
Ok I know I missed some but everyone is working hard it looks like in 2025 and off to some really positive starts. Its encouraging and still so helpful to be part of this amazing group.

Its snowing again, we have had over a foot in the last week so I have gotten plenty of time behind the shovel this week. As much as I despise it, I am just chalking it up to just more exercise time.
Meeting a friend for dinner out tonight. Will try to be good but the restaurant has amazing taco's so I am sort of saving myself for those..

@HappyDonkey75 I devised my own training schedule but it's basically a hybrid between an old Competitor Magazine's "16-Week First 50K Training Plan" and a Santa Clarita Runners Ultramarathon Training schedule (https://www.scrunners.org/ultramarathon-training-schedule-generator/). I'm following the mileage recommendations from Santa Clarita, and on my non-running days, I'll be crosstraining (swimming, cycling, yardwork, core, weights) or resting. I have a few big races planned, and a few smaller ones to build up to the big ones. I'm ~40 lbs over my ideal race weight, so I really need to get my @$$ in-gear.

Between the change-of-dinner plans and the 2 unplanned Double IPAs that I had during the Cotton Bowl last night, it's a small miracle that I broke even this morning. Starting the day off with a reckless breakfast, too. Time to refocus.

Ok my weight will still fluctuate but I feel I’ve gotten past the horrible December plateau and things are generally back on track. Woohoo!
Sending a shout out to new members and a hug to those struggling with tough things in your lives.

@SwimBikeRunRepeat- are you a triathalon'er or an ultra runner? I have a friend who runs ultra marathons and I am always impressed that someone can run 50 miles or more in what seems like a really short amount of time. Either way.. That's an impressive schedule that requires alot of dedication.
@canadamarie - congratulations. Love those new milestones and how it motivates us to keep working hard.
Skipping out today on posting weight. I woke up and was promptly starving so I ate and realized I had not weighed yet. Oh well. Full day ahead. Tacos were amazing but small so didn't feel like I overindulged at all.
Have a great weekend everyone!
@ManifestingToday - I am glad you run our group , even if you did inadvertently inherit it! Be careful out there shoveling. I feel your pain!3 -

Okay my efforts are paying off….I am back to a number more consistent with October. I agree with some others how our bodies get stuck at a terrible plateau in December, that was so me!
Congrats to those having success — we’ve only just begun! Plenty of time this month to crank up efforts. We can do hard things, and I count my blessings.

Jan 10 204 first Zumba class of this year. So far my foot isn’t hurting so that’s great. Still trying to keep it easy though. At least work has slowed down so that helps. Have a great weekend!

@ManifestingToday thank you! It can be hard with the pain. I didn’t work out for two months because of it. I do have a recumbent bike here at the house and weights so I’m going to start using those in the mornings before work.4 -
