Hi ladies! Wednesday was baking/active rest day. My workouts were walking and abs.
Laurel, great workouts! Did you see that Cathe's newsletter contains a two-month LMR/STS 2.0 rotation? It seems like an easy rotation and it's appealing to me, but I think I'll modify it by replacing a LMR workout with a STS 2.0 one. I'll have to play with it to see how I can modify it.
We were definitely warmer. I think 30 degrees feels warmer to us now because we've had such cold temps for so long now.
I watched a few videos of the snow in the deep south. roads in New Orleans were nothing but ice. I watched a video of some guys playing ice hockey in downtown New Orleans! It looked like thick ice too.
See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was LITE Rev’d Up Rumble with the Calorie Crush, Abs 1, and Extended Stretch. My body is feeling these Meso 1 workouts this week, but this workout seemed to help both my arms and legs a bit….thankfully.
Thelma, great workouts…..especially the baking workout.I did see that rotation from Cathe. I looked at the first week, and, like you, know I will need to modify it a bit to make it work for me because that first week at least was pretty heavy on LMR, and I would prefer a little more 2.0. But I am going to look at it closer and see if I can make a rotation that would work for me. I need to come up with something for when I am done with this current rotation in five weeks.
I, too, watched a lot of snow videos from down south. All I could think is that for a lot of those kids, this will be a memory of a lifetime. It’s so fun to watch.
See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! Thursday's workouts were walking, Yoga and Tracy Steen Lower Body Blast. I got to use my new workout bench for step ups, and I couldn't be happier with the sturdiness of the bench.
Laurel, great workouts.
The LMR/STS2.0 rotation's first week is what prompted me to think that it needed to be modified. I agree that it is too LMR heavy. It could be considered a deloading week. If you come up with a modified rotation. I'd love to do it with you.
I still can't believe that I'm baking bread. I am constantly learning and improving, which I love. The best part is that DH is loving everything and he's still a stick. LOL
I just love how snow is celebrated in the south.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 11/Triceps and Back, followed by a 20 minute spin. With this week over, meaning I’ve done my last STS Meso 1 workout of this rotation, I feel like everything is downhill from here. These Meso 1 workouts just kill me.
Thelma, great workouts. I am glad you like your new bench and feel it is nice and secure. That is so important, especially given your last injury. I would love to do a LMR/2.0 rotation with you! I think I would be starting it around the first week in March. DH and I are supposed to be gone the bulk of April on vacation, but I would be able to get 4-5 weeks in before we go. I will look at what Cathe posted a little closer and try to come up with something relatively soon. I would definitely want you to make sure it is doable for you. Thankfully since I have just done LMR and am still doing 2.0, I am fairly confident that I have a decent read on the intensity of the workouts which will hopefully prevent me from falling into my old habit of thinking I am still 25 when coming up with a rotation.
I love that you are enjoying making bread. I really admire that.
Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Ladies! I hope you had a nice weekend. Ours was crazy busy. DH did things outside and I inside. We need another weekend to recover from this one! LOL
We are getting a nice dose of rain tonight! Yaay!
My workouts on Friday were walking, yoga and Tracy Steen Abs.
Saturday - walking.
Sunday - walking and Tracy Steen Total Body.
Laurel, great workouts and congratulations on finishing the Meso 1 part of the rotation! Those workouts are definitely exhausting.
You are not kidding about the importance of feeling safe doing step ups on my bench. Gosh, that was a horrible injury. It took me forever to heal from it.
I'm so excited for you and your DH taking the month of April to vacation!
I think the LMR/2.0 rotation is doable as it is, but I think it can be made a little more challenging. Week one definitely needs improvement. Thank you for taking a look at the rotation!
I'm only enjoying making bread because DH loves it and eats it.
Have a great week!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Mine was pretty quiet, which is fine by me. DH will be home next weekend, and, no doubt, we will make it a busy one. So this weekend I did a few chores, but spent a lot of time reading, which was nice.
For workouts, on Saturday I did Cathe Live Cardio Core Onto the Floor and 45 minutes of Yin Yoga. Yesterday was 2.0 Super Sets Total Body and a 30 minute spin. And today was Cathe Live Get Stepping and the core work from Flex Train.
Thelma, great workouts. We are getting quite a bit of rain as well, which makes for a nice surprise. It had been in the forecast and then removed, so I was a bit surprised to get rain all night long. But we need it so it is much welcome.
I haven’t spent too much time looking at the rotation, but taking a second look at week 1 it makes more sense since I remembered that the LMR Functional Barre Fusion workout is a bootcamp style workout where you do five sets of lower/upper/core exercises. So it does function as something of a total body workout. And given that, it makes sense to put it where she did sandwiched between two 2.0 total body workouts (with recovery in between). Maybe you already knew that but, if not, does that week look better to you? To be honest, the rest of the rotation looks pretty good to me as it is. I might change the order of some workouts, but I like the concept of it. Let me know what you think.
See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! Monday's workouts were walking and Tracy Steen Biceps and Triceps. I don't know how Tracy does it, but she's been releasing really good workouts in the last few months.
I can't believe this is the last week of January!
Laurel, great workouts!! I'm glad your DH will be home next weekend. I'm sure you'll make the weekend a very busy one! LOL
I don't know what I was looking at but, in my memory, the first week the LMR/STS 2.0 rotation there were no STS 2.0 workouts. That's the reason why I said it looked more like a deloading week. I am obviously losing it! Now I think the rotation is good as is, except for the chair yoga workout on week three. I would sub that a regular yoga class.
I haven't done the Functional Barre Fusion workout, so I'm glad you mentioned it is a bootcamp style workout. The rotation is definitely fine the way it is.
I think we could eventually create another LMR rotation by substituting the STS 2.0 workouts for another resistance program and leave the LMR workouts as they are.
See you tomorrow!
Thelma0 -
Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS 2.0 Trisets Total Body and a 30 minute spin.
Thelma, great workouts. I am glad you are enjoying Tracy’s workouts. That’s funny about the first week of the 2.0/LMR program. Trust me…..I understand. Some days I really do feel like my brain dropped out of my head somewhere along the way. But I am glad you took another look. I want to go through the rotation with a closer look because I will definitely want to change some of the workout choices based on personal preference (like that chair yoga workout). I agree it would be easy to do this type of rotation with other programs as well. I am really curious how this rotation is going to feel to be honest. Hopefully the balance between the two intensity levels will feel good and not like the LMR are underwhelming or ineffective in comparison. I don’t think the latter will be the case, but, again, I am curious.
I hope you are beginning to warm up. We are supposed to be approaching 60 today. That came out of nowhere, and I am happy for it.
See you tomorrow.
Laurel0 -
Hi Ladies! Tuesday's workouts were walking, yoga and Tracy Steen Legs.
We had a beautiful warm and sunny Tuesday here. Starting Saturday through next Tuesday our highs will be in the 60's!
Laurel, great workouts.
I think the LMR/STS 2.0 rotation will feel good because it will be gentler on the body.
I would definitely change the workout order on week 3. I'd like to start my workout with a strength workout not a functional one.
I was definitely happy for the sun and warmer temps. Everything turned to black ice on Monday night around here. There were still a lot of black ice patches in the morning.
See you tomorrow!

Morning Ladies,
Sorry I haven't been online, just really busy catching up from the vacation. We had a great time, and I got a nice tan. The resort we went to in Punta Cana was really nice, and everyone was super friendly. So nice to be with the family. Planes where all on time and uneventful. We had just enough time to get to our connecting flight in Atlanta. That airport is so big, but we made it. Funny how it was really easy to eat healthy at this resort. For sure it will be one that we venture back to.
I have to get more work done, but just know that I will get to reading your thread at some point this week. I'm sure that you both are doing great with the workouts. DH and I are of course back on the workout bandwagon. Tonight I do have a hair appointment though.
Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 45 minute spin and the core work and extended Stretch from Perfect 30.
Thelma, great workouts. It probably isn’t quite warm enough, but that hasn’t stopped me from having my windows open today. After this long cold spell, it just feels so good to get some fresh air into the house. Of course, I am a bit chilly but it is worth it for a minute or two.
Laurie, welcome back!! I am so glad you enjoyed your time away. I have heard some really good things about Punta Cana. An island in the Caribbean sounds perfect right now, and I bet it felt like a wonderful break from the Wisconsin winter. I agree about the Atlanta airport. We have a tendency to walk between gates, and it is a very long walk!!!
See you tomorrow.
Laurel0 -
Hi Ladies! Wednesday's workouts were walking and Tracy Steen Low Impact Cardio and abs.
He hit 61 degrees on Wednesday afternoon. It felt so nice! We're expecting some rain on Friday/
Laurie, welcome back! I'm so glad you had a great vacation.
The Atlanta airport is huge!
Laurel, great workouts! I am not surprised that you already had your windows open!
See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was 2.0 Giant Sets Total Body and Cathe Live Boxing HiiT Express.
Thelma, great workouts. We hit 63 yesterday and it was wonderful. It is warm again today, but cloudy and we are supposed to get rain tonight. DH is on his way home (finally), so I am hoping he gets in before the storms.
DH is taking tomorrow off after this long trip of his, so I won’t be back until Monday. Enjoy the weekend!

Hi Ladies! Thursday's workouts were walking, yoga and Tracy Steen Shoulders and Abs.
DH and I had a big scare and are thankful to be alive. For the last two weeks we've been smelling a bad smell when we stepped outside. I kept asking what is that smell? DH's sense of smell isn't very sharp, but THIS he smelled. Today I heard him calling the propane company and tell them he thinks we have a leak because it smells like rotten eggs. They immediately called one of their repair people and sent him our way. We had a leak! About a month ago they came to install two meters because we have two gas lines. Something clearly went wrong when they did that.
DH shut the gas off and anything that had a gas pilot before the repair guy came. I kept asking DH how he knew propane smelled like rotten eggs. It's not like either of us has ever encountered a rotten egg. The man somehow knew and confirmed it with Google. OMG! Can you imagine the danger we've been in!
It never occurred to me that propane would smell differently than regular gas.
Laurel, great workouts! I'm so glad you'll have your DH back with you!
It was warm here too. We got a few minutes of rain tonight, but Friday is supposed to be a very rainy day. I hope it rains a lot because we're back at abnormally dried conditions.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Morning Ladies,
Finally caught up with all my work, it sure has been a crazy busy week.
DH and I have been working out with PJ all week, well except for Wednesday when I had my hair appointment. DD is working toward a bonus, so she moved my appointment up. I don't blame her for wanting a bonus, so glad that I can contribute to the fund. This morning DH woke up with a cold, but it is all in the sinuses. Overall he doesn't feel bad.
Laurel, Of course great job on all those workout! Enjoy the day with your DH also. We are going to be getting some warmer weather this weekend, and I also want to open the windows. Seems to be stuffy in the house, and I think we need to move the bad air out of the house.
Thelma, Love the workouts! That is a very scary situation, so glad that your DH new what was going on. I grew up with propane, so when you said rotten eggs, I knew right away what you where smelling.
Have a great weekend!

Hi Ladies! I hope you had a great weekend. Ours was good and busy as usual. We're very thankful for the rain we got on Friday. Temps have been mild, and it feels great.
My yoga studio's owner is adding a Barre, Pilates, Yoga strength class on Fridays. I can't wait to give it a try. The class is right after my yoga class, so I'll stick around for the Barre class. I hope others take it too, so she doesn't have to cancel it.
My workouts on Friday were walking and yoga.
Saturday, walking.
Sunday, walking and Tracy Steen Biceps and Triceps.
Laurie, I'm so glad you finally caught up with all your work.
Great job getting your workouts in. I hope your DD gets that bonus!
Sorry your DH has a cold. I hope he's feeling better now.
I grew up with propane too and I don't remember ever smelling rotten eggs. In El Salvador stoves are fueled by the same propane tanks we use here for our grills. Why is it that our stove doesn't smell like rotten eggs when the burner won't light up after I clean the stove?
Have a wonderful week!

Morning Ladies,
We had a nice weekend. I spent some time organizing some of my crafts. I got all my embroidery thread organized so that I can find them without looking all over the place.
Our workouts are back on track after the cold that DH had. We have been doing PJ workouts, and they are a little more cardio intense. DH is handling the increased cardio fairly well. Friday was a Mini Band Workout and yesterday was Move Quick Cardio Burnout / 1-Mile Walk. The walk was one of Leslie Sansone's workouts. DH said that this proves that he is a bad dancer, since he can't keep the beat to walking.
Thelma, Great job with the workouts! Glad to hear that you have another workout option at the studio. I just read an article that said women where getting upset about men joining their pilates / yoga / barre classes. Men have always done yoga, but they are finding that pilates is good for the core also. Got a text from the youngest DD and she did make the quota, so will be getting her bonus. She wants to put that toward her mortgage. Once a flame is lit you don't smell the eggs. If there isn't a flame then that is when the egg smell is around. My parents had a tank, and if you where around that tank, it always had that smell. We never thought anything about it.
Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. DH made it home on Thursday afternoon and we spent the weekend running errands and fixing some of the stuff that broke while he was gone. The weather has been beautiful, so we also started on some early garden clean up yesterday. I have daffodils, an iris and a hydrangea already poking out of the ground, so spring is officially around the corner. That makes me happy.
For workouts, on Saturday I did a walk with Jessica Smith and some Peloton Power Yoga. Yesterday was a 30 minute spin into ICE Chiseled Lower Body Blast. Today was STS Meso 2, Disc 22/Chest, Shoulders and Triceps followed by Cathe Live Cross Fire Quick Fix plus Core.
Thelma, great workouts. I hope the new classes work out. Yikes on the propane leak! I am so glad you figured out the problem and were able to get it fixed quickly.
Laurie, great workouts. I am glad your DH’s cold was short-lived. Yay for your DDs bonus. She seems to be doing really well with Ulta. I hope your weather is warm enough to air out your house. It feels so good to have fresh air again.
See you tomorrow.
Laurel0 -
Hi Ladies! Monday's workouts were walking, Power Yoga and Tracy Steen Legs. Yoga was tough but I loved it. Since the same people take the class the instructor feels that she can keep making the class more challenging for us. We felt challenged for sure.
Laurie, I'm glad you had a nice weekend. Good job organizing your craft supplies and for getting back into the workout routine. Too funny about your DH saying he's a bad dancer. LOL
I'll be taking 5 classes at the yoga studio every week now. I've been taking 3-4 classes.
Men are definitely getting into pilates. We only have one guy at the power yoga class. We convinced him yesterday to try the new Barre class on Friday and he said he would.
I'm so glad your DD made her quota and will get a bonus. She's very wise for putting that money toward her mortgage.
I am so glad you knew the answer about why we can't smell of wroten eggs inside the house!
Laurel, I'm so glad your DH got home on Thursday and that your plants are showing signs of life. I'll have to check my plants too!
Great workouts!!
We are very thankful the propane leak was fixed within hours of reporting it.
See you tomorrow!

Morning Ladies,
Sunny but cold morning today. Last night we did PJ's Upper Body Compound Exercises Metcon. DH said that he really liked that one. May have to find more of her metabolic type workouts for us to try. This morning I did a Total Body Pilates workout with Rachel's Fit Pilates. Her pilates workouts are super simple, but they are good for getting my body moving so early in the morning.
Laurel, Great job with all the workouts! Glad to hear that you had a good weekend with your DH. Can't believe that you are already seeing spring arriving. We are not even close to seeing anything like that for a while. Now that dd is an elite stylist she can make the amount required to get a bonus. They didn't give her the raise until April of last year so she was working her butt off the last few months to reach that goal. I'm very proud of her, and she thinks that she won't have to go crazy this year to reach that goal. Of course Ulta was very happy with her crazy busy schedule. She said that it just made her super tired. We had only one door open, it was still a bit to cold for full open windows.
Thelma, Love all the workouts! That is a lot of classes during the week, but sounds like you really enjoy all of them. Nice that there is a guy willing to join a barre class. DH has done some barre, and I think because we are at home he is okay with it.
Have a great day!
Laurie0 -
Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 60 minute spin. It has been awhile since I have done a 60 minute spin, and it felt really good today.
Thelma, great workouts. I love the sound of the yoga workout. It took me six months, but I have finally settled on a Peloton instructor to replace Kristin McGee. I find I am best with one instructor because once I get used to their cuing, the yoga is much more pleasant. So I am back to really looking forward to doing yoga again, which makes me happy.
Laurie, great workouts. That is such great news about your DD. No doubt you are very proud. I am glad you got a little fresh air. Our low last night was 60which is warmer than our highs this time of year are supposed to be. Because of the humidity, the AC may be coming in tonight. I hate doing that, but I am sticking to the floor when I walk across it because it is so humid.
See you tomorrow.
Laurel0 -
Hi Ladies! Tuesday's workouts were walking, Yin and Tracy Steen shoulders and Tracy Steen shoulders and abs.
We hit 74 degrees on Tuesday!
Laurie, great workouts! Cathe has a lot of metabolic workouts you could try too.
I do enjoy the yoga clases and also the social aspect of it.
Lsurel, great workouts! I am so glad you finally found a Peloton yoga insructor you like.
I hope you also had a glorious Tuesday like we did here. It's perfect weather.
See you tomorrow!

Morning Ladies,
Yesterday DH was tired from doing work at the church. He was hauling out an old furnace. This morning I did an Indoor Walking Workout with Rachel's Fit Pilates. I had on my weighted vest, and got in a really good burn.
Laurel, Nice job with the spin workout! We are going to get some snow today and tonight, but then it will probably melt again. Of course right behind that is more cold and snow. Has been a very strange winter for us this year. Totally understand why you would be putting that AC on when you have the floor being wet. We have a tile floor, and when it gets humid you can slip.
Thelma, Great job with the workouts! Wow on the temp! I was thinking of the Cathe workouts, but I don't think that DH is up to the pace that Cathe sets. He does go at his own pace, but I think gets a little frustrated that he isn't keeping up. I'm sure that once I'm retired, that social thing will be something that I will have to deal with.
Have a great day!
Laurie0 -
Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 23/Legs and Cathe Live Cardio Fusion. I went as heavy as I could on the legs today, and I think I may regret that tomorrow. But when I have ‘strong’ days, I do like to take advantage of them.
Thelma, great workouts. We had a beautiful day here as well. It was surprisingly gloomy in the morning, but the sun came out in the afternoon and it was glorious. DH and I were even able to sit outside after dinner last night without coats on. We had a fire lit, but even with that, I was surprised to be able to go out in a light weight shirt.
Laurie, great workout. A weighted vest can make all of the difference in the world in some workouts. I saw there is an ice storm in the northeast, and wasn’t sure if you were going to get a part of that. Hopefully you just get snow that, as you say, melts away quickly. This has been a weird winter. Most of it hasn’t felt like winter at all, but the parts that have were really, really winter.
See you tomorrow.
Laurel0 -
Hi Ladies! My workouts on Wednesday were walking and Tracy Steen Glutes and Thighs.
Laurie, great workout! Sorry you're going to get more cold weather and snow.
The cold front that was supposed to get here is going to bring us rain.
Cathe does go pretty fast in her workouts. I use the pause button when I can't keep up.
I did a Tracy Steen workout today that was pretty metabolic. There were 10 seconds between exercises.
Laurel, great workouts! Good job for going as heavy as you could on the legs workout!
We had the same type of weather you had on Wednesday too. I noticed some trees are showing signs of life too.
See you tomorrow!
Thelma0 -
Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was another 60 minute spin. I don’t know why I am feeling like some tough cardio this week, but I am enjoying it. I followed it with come Peloton core work and a stretch.
Thelma, great workouts. Just FYI, I think I am going to take a little break between my current rotation and doing anything with STS again. I think one of the reasons I am reaching for longer cardio is simply because I miss it. And even with mixing 2.0 and LMR, the workouts are still long and taxing. I know I will want to do that rotation at some time, but I don’t think it will be next month. So please press on without me if you want. We have been getting rain the last couple of days and that combined with the warmer temperatures seems to be bringing spring on a little faster. Even though we are supposed to cool off next week, it is back to normal temperatures and not freezing temperatures and I am just fine with that.
See you tomorrow.
Laurel0 -
Morning Ladies,
Our workout last night was PJ Cardio for Bad Knees. It was a really good workout. She did cardio for the first portion and then did some barre moves. Barre work and DH is an interesting combo. This morning I did Yin Yoga.
Laurel, Awesome job with the workouts! Nice that you where going as heavy as you could. Our roads where pretty good this morning, but of course when the snow was coming down it turn to ice. Our road crews where on top of it, so things where fine.
Thelma, Nice workouts! So far DH is enjoying these PJ workouts, and I'm actually enjoying them also. I noticed that Kelly has been downloading a bunch of her RAW workouts to yt. I stopped my subscription, so this will be nice if I just want to do some boxing. The workout we did last night had boxing in it and I was really enjoying that aspect.
Have a great day!
Laurie0 -
Hi Ladies! Thursday's workouts were walking, power yoga and Gina B low impact Hiit. The yoga class was very challenging. We were all exhausted after class. I love how the instructor keeps challenging us, though.
We are getting a little rain tonight, but all the rain predicted for the weekend seems to have evaporated.
Most of Northern GA is now in Abnormally Dry conditions. The northwest areas are in moderate drought conditions as well as part of the northeastern counties. We're in north central GA and the northeastern part of our county is already in moderate drought conditions. Just last week the drought map was mostly white which means normal conditions and now it's mostly yellow.
Laurie, great workouts! I love that your DH is such a good sport when it comes to trying out the different workouts you throw at him!
I'll have to check out KCM's YT channel! Her kickboxing workouts are so much fun!
Laurel, great workouts! I'm glad you're feeling strong enough to do some of those tough cardio workouts you love so much!
No problem on the rotation. I've been going back and forth between starting Cathe's rotation or doing CG's Iron again. So far, Iron is sounding more appealing for the very reason you mentioned about Cathe's rotation workouts being long. I think the reason why I'm enjoying Tracy's workouts so much is because I can do a 35-minute workout and feel like I'd done a 50 minute workout.
I'm glad you're getting some rain too!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Thelma0 -
Morning Ladies,
Our workouts last night where PJ's Cardio + Abs and a Partner Stretch. Let's just say the partner stretch was interesting. We both had a good time with it though. This morning I didn't do a workout. Kept hitting that snooze button one to many times.
Laurel, Great job with the workouts! Like Thelma I'm enjoying the shorter workouts. Of course doing one in the morning and one in the evening really does help. I think that doing an easier workout in the morning is also a factor. Don't blame you for wanting shorter workouts.
Thelma, Nice job with the workouts! I have to agree with you on DH being a good sport. Even trying out the partner stretch. I know that it's because he wants to be healthy. For sure try out some of Kelly's workouts. The ones that she is putting on yt are some of the ones that I enjoyed doing when I had the app.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout started with STS Meso 2 Disc 24/Back and Biceps. Then I did part of Cathe’s live class from yesterday. It was called Core, Pump and Sweat, and it started with core work, then went into circuits. The core work was really good. I only did a few of the circuits since I had just lifted weights, but I was curious how Cathe’s knee was doing. No doubt she has some mobility issues still, but for less than two months out from knee replacement, she seems to be doing pretty good. Anyhow, then I moved to my planned cardio workout was was the Bonus Low Impact Doubled premix from Lift, Move and Restore.
Thelma, great workouts. Again, the yoga sounds fantastic. Thanks for understanding about the rotation. Even today doing the LMR cardio, I was craving more intense cardio, so I think I should listen to whatever is going on and focus on what feels right when I finish the next three weeks of this rotation. I am toying with using Cathe Live workouts for my strength training for a month or so after I finish this rotation, and doing express ones. I think my muscles would like the break from all of this very heavy lifting I have been doing for almost six months straight (which is hard to believe).
Laurie, great workouts. Your DH really is a good sport about trying new things. I am glad your weather didn’t turn too bad. I think one of the reasons I want shorter and less intense strength training after this rotation is these workouts (especially the first three weeks of my six week blocks) exhaust me. DH gets home from work, and I am a lump. He laughs, but when he isn’t traveling it might be nice for him to have a conversation with somebody who is not yawning all the time.
Enjoy the weekend.
