Iβve stayed strong and not given in to temptation on day ONE today. Avoided the sugary treats and Iβve been tracking everything and drinking my water. Itβs a great feeling.18

I feel more energetic. I'm sleeping better. I feel like I've finally cracked the code on how to enjoy vegetables. My skin feels and looks healthier. I have a cardiovascular condition that limits exercise but yesterday I was able to push myself on the leg press without passing out!
Also about a year and a half ago I tailored a pair of work pants to fit me exactly how I wanted. They were uncomfortably tight a few weeks ago which was very disappointing and one of the things that gave me a kick to get going. They're now feeling much more comfortable! Almost back to that perfect fit.12 -
I was able to do an advanced TRX/Pilates combo move today involving the Pilates EXO chair and the TRX straps. I was so happy! My deep core muscles are awake again!10

The doughnut shop had all my favorites this morning: Mexican hot chocolate, Sweet Joe, raspberry pepper.
But a friend is bringing baklava for the Super Bowl.
I left with just the usual apple fritter.

I did a HIIT (HasFit) workout yesterday that I enjoyed. It felt good to complete it. Then my husband and I took a 32 minute hike at a local sanctuary.11

My morning blood sugar is finally lower than my weight, after three months of low carb dieting. BS 159, weight 162. Hope to have it normal and be in the ideal weight range in another three months. No drugs, just diet and exercise14

I found a salad that I really like that is very low calorie and filling. I have an eating disorder that basically mimics "picky eating", so any low-calorie high-fiber food i can eat regularly is a blessing!10

I ate a single serving of candy today and didn't stress too much about it. It fit perfectly in my calories and I still hit >130g protein for the day. Everything in moderation.15

I had a bit of a binge day Tuesday, not completely overboard but alot more than I planned to eat. But I jumped right back on the wagon and had a great day Wednesday.12

This week in the mail, I got two fun things:
1. My pin for completing another Concept 2 Holiday Challenge, 200k rowing machine or 400k stationary bike, or a proportionate combination of both between US Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve (using Concept machines, of course). I have pins for every consecutive year from 2017 through 2024 so far, plus some intermittent completions before that, at least 2009, 2010, 2012.
2. My second Concept 2 5 million meter t-shirt and pin. That's not 10M meters on the same machine, it's 5M on each of two machines, in my case RowErg and BikeErg.
When I started learning to row back in 2002, as an obese 46-year-old woman who'd been a "chosen last in gym class" kid, I never would've believed this kind of thing would remotely be possible for me, ever, let alone now at age 69.
Keep at the good stuff persistently, surprising things can happen, I guess!20 -

1. My stamina is so much better! I no longer huff and puff trying to get my clothes on
2. I finally made it past 30 minutes on the treadmill with an incline of 10 and speed of 2.8mph! I couldn't even make it to 20-25 minutes going 2mph at like a 7 or 8 incline when I first started this journey a month ago.
3. I feel less lethargic and sick all the time compared to when all I was eating was junk.
4. Water weight in my legs and feet have decreased a lot.
5. Pants that were too tight are starting to fit along with shirts.15 -
I feel livelier than usual. I contribute this to eating healthier! I still have areas of improvement on healthy eating, but the small changes I've made so far seem to be making a difference. (The biggest change is eating less fast food!)15

I had a different pair of shorts at the gym today. Well, I usually have them but they aren't my first choice for most activities. There was a reason I put 'em on though. They are running shorts, so a little shorter than the soccer (or Ultimate) shorts I usually wear.
I went to do my squats, and the shorts showed my quads. I was shocked to see the muscularity developing through the adipose tissue. I wonder when I'll start to see that elsewhere. I thought it was pretty groovy.14 -

I ran the half marathon distance easily today as a preparation for a full one!11

I went for a hike with family. My Apple watch gave me four different awards just for that one activity (pretty sure thatβs my record so far). And I managed to keep up with my much younger relatives for most of the hike13

Stayed focused on my food being healthy for the past 2 months (no take aways) and lost 1st 5lb in the process with no exercise.. time to include regular exercise now I think π€ if possible11

After tap dancing thru the 170s and 180s for longer than I can believe, and many attempts, on November 21, 2022...I decided to GET REAL! My weight was 184 pounds. STILL stuck in the 180s!! I made all sorts of grandiose promises to myself. The truth is...your body will CLING to your weight the longer you've had it. For me, it was a decade. I started slow....walks, yoga, drinking water. I failed at dieting. But every day I did SOMETHING POSITIVE. A 10 minute walk, 3 glasses of water instead of none, one apple. Tiny habits. One year later...back in Palm Springs, π΄ I excitedly weighed myself on the same scale. SEVEN POUNDS!π² that was it! 177. Nov 2023 Once I got over the shock, I focused on the positive. I'd be horrified if I gained 7 pounds in one year!! 191 lbs!! It comes on stealthily....over years. Of course it's realistically going to come OFF the same way. And I'd made small PERMANENT changes. That's when I gave up on a time frame and focused on making continued small changes. I started cutting back on sugar slowly, fast food disappeared, baked goods. Slowly I overhauled my diet.
By February of 2024 I was 176 pounds. One year ago. Suddenly my body realized what I was trying to do....14 months after I started and those first 8 pounds came off. It never regained one ounce and fully cooperated. TODAY I WALKED TO THE CORNER FOR MY WEIGH IN. I DID IT!! 134 POUNDS!! I'VE LOST 50 POUNDS IN 27 MONTHS!! I'M MOST PROUD THAT NEVER ONCE IN THAT ENTIRE TWO PLUS YEARS DID THE SCALE EVER CLIMB BACK UP. THE NUMBERS CONSISTENTLY KEPT GETTING SMALLER . MY BMI IS NOW 23....I'VE GONE FROM OBESE TO NORMAL WEIGHT. A SIZE 14 TO A SIZE 2/4 depending on the brand...a XS/S My skin stayed tight because I lost it slowly, stayed hydrated and did yoga. My goal is actually 128 pounds now.....but I'm not in a big hurry. I have been losing two pounds every three weeks for the last few weigh ins. Like clockwork. So in 6 weeks I should reach 128.....I would love to get below 130 pounds again. Then maintain at 128 to 134 pounds. The numbers in summary......
November 21st,2022....184 November 28th, 2023.....177 February 21st, 2024....176.2 August 15th, 2024.....144.1 February 20th,2025.....134.1 Pounds lost in ONE YEAR .....42 Pounds. AFTER 15 MONTHS OF TINY HABITS TO BEGIN "the big WHOOSH"....losing 8 pounds painlessly and preparing my mind and body for gently letting go of the heavy weight. I never experienced exercise pain, withdrawals, and treated myself with kindness and compassion β€οΈ. When I felt completely loved and safe, my body responded quickly. Don't be fooled by "celebrity spokeswomen" who have personal chefs and trainers. Give yourself a maximum of 20 to 25 pounds per year if you are SERIOUS ABOUT NEVER GAINING ANY WEIGHT AGAIN. π

PS.....to add to the above....134 pounds is 60.7 kilos for Canadians and Europeans....and well, the rest of the world π really! And I always like to check the weight equivalent......I've lost as much as a Twin bed mattress and box spring!! π π7

@spirittrail Your post absolutely resonated with me. I started Jan 2024 at 100 kgs and ended the year 7 kgs lighter.
I havent felt significant cravings, pain , anxiety or any huge rollercoaster obstacles other than the usual " same stuff for everone" type situations .... , family events , occasional feast days, knee sprain and so on.
7kgs in one year...ummm..not exactly breaking any records. But I'm so pleased with myself and ( mostly) able to deal with my feelings of frustration .
This year I'm hoping to lose another 7.
Frankly we getting belong my sticking point of 93 kgs will be EPIC.
I'll never give up, this is me , moving happily and slowly in the right direction.
Well done on your outstanding achievement . Consistency and being attuned to what works for us ..or not .. and being able to recalibrate and fine tune is hopefully what will work for me too.
