So this is a Cyber Cafe What'll be?

It was so nice and sunny this morning that on my way to work I rode the ferry (I take ferry across the harbour) up top. It was to wet to sit after yesterday's weather but I was the only one up there! (And this is clearly a US based system as I am NOT spelling habour wrong!! 😁😂)

I think today for brunch, I will take scrambled eggs with cheese, 6 slices of bacon, 2 sausages, 2 pieces of dark toast with blueberry jam, 3 pancakes with real maple syrup and whip topping, a banana chocolate chip muffin, and a bowl of fruit. I will take coffee to drink. I will take it outside in the comfy chairs so I can curl up and enjoy the coffee after eating it and just have a nice relaxing day. I just might stay here all day. I will need to go for a swim after the food settles for a bit.

Zzyyggy, warm?! Burlington is now experiencing Charlotte’s typical winter weather. It was 88 degrees today here, and yes, it feels hot. No worries, the air conditioning is keeping things cool. By mid July, 88 degrees will feel cool. Last night the overnight temperature was warm enough that the air conditioner kept running all night. It was so annoying to have the cold air blowing on me—the vent is in the floor by the top of the bed, I finally turned on the light and found the vent cover that pushes the air down. Good thing Sweetie slept right on through it all.

It’s lovely out here on the terrace. The early roses are beautiful. I love how they’re starting to grow up the columns on the gazebo. Here’s Viktor with my iced tea. I ordered the crab salad plate. It comes with a croissant, a salad with greens and tomato, and a fresh fruit side plate. 😋 Maybe I’ll order a bowl of chocolate chip mint ice cream with fudge sauce later, after sunset.

@angf0679 You can spell a word any way you please, we don’t mind. Between the language barrier (north and south) and auto spell check, we’re used to figuring out what’s being said. I do notice that when I’m tired I make more typos or leave entire words out.

Zzyyggy, the best thing about having a cat that’s terrified of the vacuum is that the vacuum cleaner becomes a valuable tool. Yes, I put the vacuum under the Christmas tree and when Little Miss went near the tree the vacuum cleaner magically growled at her. At least she stopped climbing the tree. There was this little Victorian ornament, a velvet strawberry with lace, that she decided was hers, so I made sure it was on the bottom of the tree. She would nap under the tree near her ornament and if Mr. B got too close she’d screech at him. The first time she did that I was stunned. She trained Mr. B very well. She wouldn’t allow him on the counters or tables or the velvet loveseat (she wasn’t allowed on them either). When he had enough of her bossiness he’d go use her litter box. The two cats really did like each other. Mr. B was never confrontational, except for the litter box. Oh, and he would hide all her toys. He kept all the purple mice and balls for himself. He loved showing off for Little Miss though. Ah, I miss having cats, but with my allergies it’s not possible. Fortunately, there are two cats at the cybercafe and Sochi and Useless are very sweet and excellent barn cats, as well.

I’ve got to stop staying up late and having s’mores at the cybercafe. I’m really sleepy today. Dinner is going to be hamburgers and beans and maybe a salad if there’s any left. I’ll have to check the ice cream freezer in the gazebo. Victor makes sure it’s well stocked and all the sundae fixings are ready. An ice cream sundae would be great.

Zzyyggy' I’m definitely ordering the prime rib tomorrow for Sunday dinner. I found some Truly Chocolate ice cream in the freezer for my ice cream sundae. Thank goodness Viktor is so good at his job. It’s amazing how he can anticipate our every whim. Francois made some blueberry sauce that will be delicious on my chocolate ice cream. 😋

Wow, Zzyyggy, what a great day you had! It was a laundry day here. Tomorrow I’ll get to do more laundry. I vacuumed yesterday because we had the outside of the front door refinished. I don’t know why I didn’t think to move things out of the way. There was sawdust everywhere. Plus the door was open for hours with the air conditioning on. Sweetie taped plastic on the outside door frame to keep out the pollen, bugs, and skinks. I have to say Luis and his father did a fantastic job and the door looks great.

The apple pie sounds wonderful. I ordered some and a cup of tea for dessert.

Zzyyggy, Sweetie is making his famous and delicious meatloaf tonight. He’s making vegetable sides. Here at the cybercafe Francois will be supplying a bread basket, macaroni and cheese for me, and mashed potatoes with gravy for Sweetie. Your root beer sounds so good, I had to order some for myself. I wish we had bread in the house for meatloaf sandwiches tomorrow.

I think I’ll make caramel s’mores tonight. Viktor is sure to have Ghirardelli caramel chocolate squares. Oh, I can’t wait.

@angf0679 It’s time for a snow day! Either that or you wear your cat-a-tonic t-shirt. I did that once and I didn’t even get sent home for wearing inappropriate clothes. But then, they sent us home within half an hour anyway. We can go scuba diving in the deep end of the cyberpool if you’d like. Viktor will be here to serve us iced drinks and plenty of nibbles. I hope he remembers my favorite little cheese crackers. However, right now I’ve put in an order for pecan pancakes with warm maple syrup and butter (lots of butter), home fries, fresh fruit salad and coffee. Viktor always brings out individual carafes of coffee at breakfast and there’s always a basket of mini pastries on the tables in the morning. We’re in love with the cinnamon buns Francois bakes.

There’s no snow here in the Charlotte area, although it’s much cooler than it has been and tomorrow morning is going to be downright cold — 3C/38F degrees. In the past we have had snow in April, but not this year. The trees are in full leaf and I can no longer see my neighbor’s house through the trees in the backyard. It’s nice to have some privacy back.

Good morning all. I’m enjoying the view out the french doors in the cybercafe’s dining room while I drink my second cup of coffee. This morning’s pastry basket has mini chocolate croissants, mini blueberry cream scones, and mini cinnamon buns. I like the cinnamon buns that have lots of pecans so that they’re really a cinnamon sticky bun.

Zzyyggy, we got a Starbucks $10.00 gift card for Christmas and Sweetie has decided we need to use it. We haven’t been to Starbucks in over ten years. I don’t think he realizes how much it costs. Furthermore, he only orders black coffee and they only brew Pike. We can make a better cup of coffee for him at home—he likes a dark bold roast coffee. Maybe we’ll go tomorrow after I go to my appointment to get my teeth cleaned. It should be very entertaining.
