Iβm in β trying to lose the 10 lbs I gained over the summer, while at the same time build muscle and hit my GW (after losing 60 lbs). Iβm very active, typically run/walk/swim 2x day, but the weight isnβt budging this time. Iβm predominantly a plant-based eater (but no βwhiteβ carbs foods). I just havenβt been as focused the past 2 months so a group is what I need to stay on track and stay motivated!!

Actually β how do I βjoinβ this group? I donβt see a link or button. Lol

@wendyburton4266 Because it's a challenge and not a "group" there is no need to "join" by clicking a link. All you need to do is hop on and start posting your goals, your weight, etc. So you are already in, and it's great to have you here.

Phew!! I made it. I started the week beating myself up for eating too much. I didn't even weigh myself last Friday. So this week I got it back under control.
SW 8/1/24 165
GW 5/2/25 132 to 135
CW 8/15/25 134.5
It's still a mystery to me what a maintenance diet is. I mean I know what it is obviously. I just need to teach myself how to do it. I hate having this fear haunting me. The fear of gaining. I haven't even gotten rid of my "big" clothes yet. That says it all.π
So onward! I wasted a lot of years being over weight. There's not a day that goes by that I'm not grateful for losing what I did. I'm lucky to have found this group. Keep posting, people. I love reading how determined everyone is. Every little thing helps.7 -
Ooh I want to join in too.

excited to see ONLY a 1-pound gain after a 7-day vacation of not tracking nutrition or daily exercise.
Iβve been near my goal weight for 6 months, so this was a reassuring experience. So time to get back to measuring my high protein intake and 10K daily steps.

Well! My weigh in this last Saturday was not what I expected. I am at a plateau again (but Iβm grateful there was not a gain). I have to admit that I consume too many carbs (pita chips and popcorn). Now Iβm a little riled up to see a loss this coming Saturday. Wish me luck with being more disciplined. Iβll update after Saturday. πͺπΎ
7 -
Go @200Karen That's very reassuring. I'm sure this gives you confidence that you can go seven days without tracking or measuring and be good with it.
I've been "maintaining" since May 2nd. It's still a learning process. Last night I ate WAY too much. So today I'm thinking about the upcoming week and how I can compensate for it. This is NOT what I had in mind as a strategy for maintaining!!!!! LOLπ
I realized that I'm doing a modified IF. One day eating + 6 days tracking to make up for it. Intermittent fasting has never appealed to me. I actually went looking on the community page for information on IF. I know what I did wasn't the way IF is supposed to work. Because it doesn't work. It's stupid. It feels bad. And that's not helpful.
So here goes for another week. Back to business!!! I can do it.
Good luck everybody. Last week is gone. This week is going to be better.

@Jillygirl0202 You are doing great π stay strong during your plateau
@Walela617 Happy Birthday πππBest wishes for your new year
@faurotann I track my late night snacks on a MFP challenge group. So my 12-hour goal of staying out of the kitchen is my Intermittent Fasting.
Congratulations on being at your goal weightπ₯Iβm be right behind you with the release of a few stubborn pounds.Iβm lifting weights at a βSeniorβ CrossFit gym and seeing toned muscles. So once my body gets used to that maybe the last few pounds will be released.
It really is a life long commitment

@200Karen Thank you for the link to the challenge. I think I'll follow that for the rest of the month. It sounds like a great way to do IF.
l love seeing that picture of your CrossFit mates. There are so many of you working towards the same goal. And it still cracks me up that all those men are in the back row.

I had lost 6 lbs in 11 days and I think it had something to do with that being too quick. I have gained back one pound overnight due to having to grab carby, sugary food in volume to correct my medical situation. Iβm okay with the uptick today. I think I actually needed it to reassure my body that itβs okay. I am still down 6.2 from starting weight so progress is still being made. You can be sure I will closer monitor my blood sugars today with extra blood tests so I can see what is going on. However, Iβm very pleased with my progress in both the scale weight and the trend weight.

@deepwoodslady glad you are feeling better. Congratulations on the weight release. Hear you about needing to reassure your body. If I lose a few pounds itβs like something say's βnot so fastβ itβs time to spurgeβ. Iβm also diabetic and to much sugar cause me night sweats
Yesterday after overindulging with late night eating, Today I am on calorie & sodium π§ control. π
One thing that helps me with cravings is having hot tea or just plain hot water π« seems to help quiet the mind and stomachπKaren

@deepwoodslady Thank you for posting. You're always here. "Trust the process" is my new mantra.
I think it's flashed through my mind at least ten times today.

Okay! I like that movement. I know itβs not always about the scale, but the scale really does help me stay motivated.I think, in the past, if I had seen the 8/12 number after seeing the 8/5 number, I might have given up. Maybe not right away, but eventually. This time, I thought, βtrust the process and yourself,β and I stayed within my calories and lifted weights one day this week, and here we are!
I think maybe noting it week by week is helpful, too.I hope you all are hanging in there!

Ok moving back to thecright direction
August 20th 195lbs I had a 24 hour time frame where I gained 7lbs & then lost it. I almost ran out to the variety store to buy a bag of potato chips plus dip. But I hanged on.
6 -
HAHAHAHAHA Those chips!! They're killer. If they sold chips in packages of 10 chips each I'd probably buy them. Portion control, you know?
You're doing great. Three weeks in and you're hanging in there. Don't give up. Once that scale starts dropping (which it will) you'll be happy. I know. Because I am obsessed with the scale.
But even better than the scale dropping is when your clothes start feeling loose. That's the best reward.
Read @deepwoods lady up above.

A little late to the party but I'm in!
For the last 10 months I've been suffering with debilitating fatigue caused by long covid. With no exercise and increased emotional eating I have gained 31 lbs / 14 kg .
I've just started a low carb diet to help with my long covid symptoms. Carbs are my go to food so this is a real challenge!
My goal is to lose all of this extra weight in the next year.
SW (7th Aug) - 88.4 kg
18th Aug - 87.6 kg -0.8
